Gale South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton in Miami Beach

The worst. Staff at front desk is rude. We had an emergency and had to leave 2 days earlier but front desk would not refund. Ended up calling Hilton and even Hilton could not get the manager to pick up the phone. As far as the rooms they are very tiny. The bathroom is tiny and in the bathroom there is glass that you can see into the room so there is absolutely no privacy. I do not recommend staying here at all especially if you have children. The pool was small and no services.

Neat hotel, that has great charm however the extremely rude and unfriendly staff will make you wish you stayed elsewhere. The front desk staff seem bothered by just your presence in the lobby.

Good location but many problems. I was told that I would get a text message when my room was ready but they never texted me. She should have not offered to text us if she was not going to do it. I was told that gold and diamond members get the same one hour late check out. When I explained that I have been a diamond members for years and I knew it was one hour for gold and two hours for diamond, she finally granted me the two hours late check. It was clear that she already knew this and was lying to me. I spent the maximum amount of money for the best room with the best view but the pictures did not show that the balcony has a 6 foot concrete wall which blocks the views and breezes making the balcony useless. This was a waste of money. My side of the bed had no table and no outlet to plug in my phone. The surface of the doors and walls are sticky and nasty. It took many taps to get the light on the elevator to turn green which is required to get to the room. The AC fan would not shut off even when I flipped every switch.

We stayed at the gale for 3 days an enjoyed it all the way. The good thing is that it is a comfortable hotel close to the beach where you will get personal attention from all the staff. Another thing worth mentioning is the good service at the pool has some great cocktails while relaxing.When back in Miami will definitely stay there again

Fab Art Deco style hotel in the heart of South Beach. Great location, a stones throw away from Ocean Drive and the beach. Fernando on the reception desk was so lovely and helpful - a true asset to the hotel. The rooftop pool is a perfect way to escape from the Miami heat. The breakfast options were a bit limited, and breakfast food not the best, but other than that it was a great stay.

I usually enjoy my stay at the Gale it’s clean and updated and overall one of the nicer hotels on south beach but the reason for my rating was the lack of privacy. During our stay we had staff open our door unannounced at least 4-5 times. Once I was in the shower and had to yell that I’m naked and another time I was sleep and they knocked once and proceeded to open the door. Honestly this hasn’t happened before but I’m not sure of the issue but because of that it has me questioning if I want to stay here again. Also my key card stopped working on numerous occasions.As far as the rooms beds are very comfortable, usually clean and the air conditioning works good and so does the hot water. This time the pillow cases were dirty. Good location close to everything. Only cons no desk only 2 nightstands, no chairs, no fridge or microwave room isn’t the most spacious so it’s good for 1 or 2 people. Restaurant and bar downstairs very limited options and very expensive.

We are Hilton gold member. I selected the room before arrived. When we arrived the manager changed a very noise room at corner with streets with Collins and 17th sheets. He questioned why he changed the room. He got mad with us. He claimed this Hotel is not owned by Hilton. He is the manger and he can do any decision he wants. He threaded to call police to get us out the hotel. Never have such experience in any hotels.

Lovely hotel, brilliant location. However our room was located immediately next to the external aircon machinery (for the whole hotel), so we didnt have a single minute of peace day or night. We also only had a view of the wall of the next adjacent building. My childrens room, by contrast, was on the front of the hotel and was very peaceful.

Hotel is nice but staff is not accommodating. Definitely very accommodating to the white and Spanish people but everyone else doesn’t get same courtesy. Doesn’t matter if your spending money you must be white or other definitely not African American because you will receive mediocre service.

First, let me say the hotel itself is a classic beauty and definitely fits the Art Deco Miami theme.Fernando was amazing and the service is exceptional..But for a family, the shower with a clear sliding door and the water closet being unable to fully close and lock isn’t functional for our needs- great for couples, but not for a family.And if they’re gearing strictly for singles or couples, hey, I get it.Beautiful hotel, great service ..only a couple modifications away from absolute greatness.

First, let me just say that during my time at The Gale, I was always greeted with a warm welcome and met with wonderful hospitality from the time I arrived until the time I left. A special shoutout goes to Ms. Kayla at the front desk. She rescued my friend and me from a disaster of a hotel (namelessand ensured us that our stay would be impeccable. The rooms were of great quality, the housekeeping service was efficient and thorough. Another special kudos to Noel at the Dolce Italian, as he was the perfect bartender and he made sure that each meal we enjoyed was made authentically and with love. There were no hiccups during our stay, each charge was explained clearly, and we were even given a complimentary bottle of champagne. Ms. Kayla deserves all of her recognition, as she held to gain two lifelong Hilton Honors members. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits South Beach Miami and wants to be treated like royalty and still have easy access to all that the area has to offer. This is an excellent hotel. The location, the staff and the hotel amenities are all 5 star. The beach access through Shelbourne is the cherry to the cake. I am definitely going to stay here whenever we are in Miami.

We intend to stay here anytime we visit South Beach. The hotel was immaculate, the room exceptionally comfortable, the location was a perfect balance of convenience and quiet, the staff fantastic, and the associated restaurant (Dolceunsurpassed! If you are fortunate enough to be greeted by Fernando at the front desk, you will have the best welcome. You cant go wrong with the Gale South Beach!

Great location. Staff is friendly and the restaurant has great food and service. My only request is that the rooms really need a desk, even if a tiny one (the rooms are small). In todays reality, many of us need to do some work when we travel. I was a bit surprised to see there was a bed and thats it, no other furniture. Please consider adding a small desk and chair for those of us who cant escape work.

5 Star service. Excellent Stay! Had a wonderful time at The Gale. Diamond Member room upgrade was fantastic. Any little issues were swiftly dealt with to our complete satisfaction. Thank you to the front desk and the entire team. Special mention to Diana and her team for constant communication with us during our stay - the right way to use the Hilton messenger system. Our only issues - resort fees, we had three days of rain and could not use the beach or pool areas so would have liked to have those waived/refunded, but other than that. No complaints and highly recommended. NOTE: Most of the bathrooms in the rooms are "open" so if your stay requires privacy when someone is showering, as for a room with a door to the bathroom :)

This hotel was amazing! It is close enough to the south beach art deco area to enjoy but not have to deal with the late night noises. The hotels rooftop pool was amazing and you can see the ocean from it. The beach is literally across the street. They offer free bikes as a part of the resort fee. The staff was professional, personable and very accommodating and friendly. The bathroom LOVE, the robe and slippers LOVE, the hotel decor LOVE!!! Fernando at the front desk was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating! Kayla was so friendly, we chatted like we have been friends forever, lol. This hotel and location exceeded expectations!

I normally stay at the Gabrielle and someone got switched here for one night of my 3 night stay, still unsure as to how this happened. The staff was great, the rooms for the price are much smaller, the food was good, but well overpriced compared to the dinner at the gabriel.

The absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s cheaper than other hotels in Miami Beach for a reason. The staff are strange and unhelpful, not professional at all. The rooms are tiny and dark. I left my Burberry jacket in the closet, and called them to ask them to send it to me and they said it was missing. I spoke to the manager Kevin Waldstein on the phone (who was slurring his words and sounded drunkand he said if I come back to the hotel he would offer me a discount or an upgrade. Ew I will never stay here again. When I asked where my jacket is he said he doesn’t know. He didn’t do a deep dive into it or ask the maids on duty where it was. It’s hard to find honest people these days, I can understand why someone would want to keep that expensive jacket. It is upsetting because a loved one gave it to me and has sentimental value. Was it my fault for leaving it there? I would like to think I can trust where I am sleeping and paying a business that is reliable. Kevin the manager said they send back passports and baby blankets to people all the time. Yes but people don’t want to steal those items. I wouldn’t bring anything valuable into that hotel. The Gale South Beach Curio Collection by Hilton has left such a bad taste in my mouth. It felt incredibly sketchy. I’ve never left a one star review ever, or even a 2 star for that matter. This is the first time and hopefully the last.If you do stay there make sure you lock your valuables in the safe.

Great service from the staff. Loved the roof top pool, nice views.Double queen bedroom was tiny, had no storage or privacy. The shower was across from the entrance door, which makes no sense. Not ideal for a family, too small, no privacy.Would definitely visit again alone or with my partner.

Nice clean rooms. Wish the pool area was a little bigger but the beach is a block away. Great location. Walking distance to several restaurants. There is a cute restaurant on-site as well. This is a great family hotel. We rented a car, but honestly, we didnt need to. Everything is 5-25 minutes away, walking distance.Had to edit my rating. Fire alarm went of 2x in the middle of the night. No one called our rooms or made an announcement it was a false alam. The next morning because we were so tired from being up due to the hotels alarm, we requested an extension and was only give an hour. We were told to come to the front desk to update the keys. Was in line for 30 minutes, only for the keys not to work. Went to the front desk again, had to wait another 30 minutes but this time the key worked in the elevator but not the room, luckily a maid was around to let us in. The other folks we were with also requested an extension on checkout because they were tired and sick, only to have someone from the hotel knock on the door several times disrupting their sleep. I also requested valve bring my car 30 minutes before checkout only to wait in the hot sun an additional 30 minutes.This place started out strong but I wont be back due to all the headaches in the end.

Its probably the norm in Miami beach to have the old buildings try to act like new properties, but it almost never works. This was a 500 a night room in early April, the location to the beach was fantastic and the people were nice and helpful, but goodness, what a small and sparse room. Pictures decorated the wall above the headboard ( the wall you cant see when in bed). We had 3 in our room with our daughter and wife and I in 2 queen beds. There wasnt any other furniture in the room and the most odd thing, clear glass showers and a mirror you could see both into the sleeping area and the bathroom area. ZERO privacy to take a shower. I could see this working in a king room, but 2 queens? The bathroom was nice, the beds were comfortable and the pictures were cool, the other 3 walls looked like Motel 6. As a Hilton Diamond member, probably not a property I will return to.

Here is the info I wish I had been given: the valet parking stand for the hotel is actually on James Ave, at the corner of 17th Street. Having said that, if you can avoid bringing a car to The Gale, you’ll be better off as valet is not very efficient and there was no one there when we arrived.The common areas of the hotel are beautiful and we loved the vibe. The rooms are small and despite booking a queen room, we ended up with a full size bed. It was very nice though and felt clean.In addition to a great location, far and away the biggest plus for The Gale is the beach club access across the street at The Shelborne.
