Galapos beach - Public beach in Setubal, Portugal
Great beach to visit in Setubal
Probably the best beach 🏖 on earth 🌍Beautiful beach with white sand, crystal clear water and the green mountains of Serra da Arrábida just behind you. 🤩
Everything is fine. There is no place to wash the sand from the feet or shower.
Favorite beach around Lisbon. The sand, public transport accessibility and water - just perfect. The only one minus is that sun gets down fast because of the mountains :)
In love with this beach! The views are gorgeous, the water is crystal clear, and it’s easily accessible from Lisbon.During summer, they run a daily and frequent bus service from the Setúbal train station that stops right above the beach. In total it’s around 1hr 40mins from Lisbon, but it’s absolutely worth it once you get to experience this small slice of paradise. There’s a bar/restaurant with affordable drinks and tasty seafood, plus there’s showers and toilets. If you’re looking for maximum comfort, it’s also possible to rent beach chairs under an umbrella.
This is a beautiful beach and if a day spared whilst in Lisbon, its only an hour away. Its a satisfying visit, its lovely to say at the end of the day I had a great day today.
Amazing beach with super clear water to swim in and a great restaurant too!
I had been cycling down the West Coast, mega hill down then a closed road! End of day what to do - get the tent out and wild camp. Most beautiful beach and sunset after a lovely meal in the restaurant.
One of the best beaches in the Lisbon metropolitan area. The beach it self is really clean and the water is crystal clear, there is a place where you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, there is also a restaurant. You also can rent a stand up paddle board and have alot of fun with it with good instructors. For sure a place recommended to visit if you are ever in Portugal.
Packed place with no control of the amount of people inside, apparently you cannot go with the metropolitano card, but instead pay a euro for a bus.
Get a bike in Lisbon, carry it on the train to Setubal and ride to the beach. No hassle with parking and there is a ramp that leads directly to the beach. Park your bike by the rocks next to you and enjoy your day in this beautiful beach
Amazing beach, amazing sea. Access is not very easy. You have to park your car and walk or you have to go there by bus.
Most beautiful beach in Portugal, in a natural reserve with hard access, freezing cold water
Worth the walk but be careful of your car getting broken into... 😕
Blue clear calm ocean among natural parc. Water is very cold. Cannot take car all the way so you need to park and take a shuttle bus for 1€
Undoubtedly, the best beach in Lisbon.
Top bunita
Very nice and calm water beach. Its quite small in high tide.Has two access, one with a lot of stairs and another on the other side of the beach with a ramp and some stairs. You might find some schools of small fishes and a few larger fishes
Cristaline ocean, peaceful and clean!
Fantastic beautiful beachSo why only three stars? First the only place to park costs €4 and it is a 1km walk down a steep walk on a road to a looooong set of steps down to the beach. If you find it hard to do going down hill and down stairs, try walking back up at the end of the day in temperatures of 35+... There are beaches just as beautiful without the high parking charges and long steep journey on foot.
Amazing place, clar water, warm water...Keep it in mind, you will need to walk a lot climb stairs, and the access to cars are restricted.
Wonderful sea, it worth to come here every time a person can run away from the city for enjoy this wonderful sea, the nature and the peace
The most beautiful beach I already see. The water is very clear and have a very good restaurant too. No waves, its nice to pass a day with family and childrens
The beach is amazing, but if you are taking public transportation... prepare to wait
What an awesome experience . The waitress was helpful and absolutely remarkable. When I asked where to buy a dog collar the sweet lady gave me one instead of sending me somewhere .The place is gorgeous and the food was excellent, I strongly recommend this place :)
Love! What a magical beach, even on a rain-soaked afternoon. The nearby restaurant made us feel like family!
Sandy beach with cristal blue water (but cold!). It is worth it since the weather around is usually hot and you an actually feel fresh and ready to the hot sunny weather. There are beach umbrellas to stay under but a bit overpriced in my opinion so maybe take your own. There is a beach bar with very reasonable prices to eat a sandwich or some quick food. Beautiful landscapes. Stairs to access beach
What an amazing beach
No Lady room no shower..even on the private area .. very good fish grilled . Not easy to understand the way we have to order...in restaurant. . If you want Cleese after main course not possible ..the table beside have a full plate of cheese as a starter 😊😯 need to know more about the rules ☺
During summer they run a bus service to the beach. Youll need to park your car at Creiro Beach (4 euros for the dayand every 15 min the air conditioned bus (freewill shuttle between the beaches of Galapos, Galapinhos and Figueirinha.Galapos beach has beautiful views, an area to rent chairs under the shade and a restaurant.
Lovely place 😍 The water is so refreshing and transparent... Almost like an exotic land
Im in love for this beach, Nature at its TOP, Mountains, white sands and perfect Sunset, just perfect
Favorite beach in Portugal, just beware you can not drive there any more between 9am and 8pm. You will have to pay 4€ for parking and either walk 700mts or take a free bus.
One of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. Very child friendly because of the calm sea. A must see.
My favourite spot in Portugal, raise and born in Lisbon but this amazing beach always suprise me, last time with my wife I just got one of the best times with her! Restaurant was good, the water just amazing, please after 15th of June dont go with your own vehicle to this place because they will tick u off or even worse block your car! Use Uber/taxis or the beach bus! 🏖️ 5 🌟
Very nice beach, but prepared to walk a lot to get there!! :)
Soft sand, crystal waters and not too many peopleWe parked at Figueirinha beach (road closed so couldnt go any further and walked to Galapos. It is only a 20 minute walk and was very pretty, better than getting the shuttle bus. Because of this logistic, the beach wasnt too busy. The beach is backed by rolling green hills, was very clean and the waters crystal clear. The beach restaurant however wasnt great (food average and quite pricy and the toilets and restaurant very shabbyand so I recommend taking a packed lunch.
One of Portugals most beautiful beaches. Calm turquoise sea with the Arrabida mountain behind, great scenery. Gets very busy in summer when they close the coastal road and is only accessible by public transport. There are a lot of steps down to the beach so not great for people with limited mobility.
It’s a quiet and beautiful beach. The water is so far the cleanest I have ever seen. And the view is stunning. It’s not easy to reach but it is manageable if you come by car. Be aware that there is no facilities like toilet and free shower on the beach. The lifeguard told me they may develop the facilities next year. I would definitely come back.
The Beach is beautiful, water clear, you can do a bit of snorkling. The restaurant is serving really good food. The toilets are not directly at the beach. You can not reach the beach by car, we were not allowed to drive past Figueirinha beach. We parked at the Secil park (the parking at the nearest point - Figueirinha beach, was already full), we took a bus from Secil park to Figueirinha beach and then another bus to Galapos beach. Anyway, worth the trip.
The best beach in the world for sure! With crystalline and very cold water, its a small paradise on Serra da Arrábida that is a must for everyone that loves nature. Part of a natural park, its mandatory that you keep it clean and preserved but if just love to chill in the beach and go for a swim than by all means: welcome to paradise!
One of the best beach in Europe. Best place to hangout with Friends and family. Stunning views.
Just an amazing beach!
I didnt see before such a wonderful beaches. Very cold water, only by car. I fully recommend!
Very quiet place with astonishing views! Totally recommend if you want to run from the city noise.
Great, popular beach! Late summer parking can get very hard, prepare to park over a kilometer away. Came here two days in a row during my first time ever in Portugal. Waters are nice. Two great places to get food, drinks, ice cream, espresso, etc.
Lovely little beach...with clean blue water. Part of the local national park. Well worth a drive back through the hills back to Sesimbra
Nice place .... if summertime or winter ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very good beach with transparent water, Crowded during the summer.
Paradise worth to visit. Clear water, nice grilled fish and homemade food... we spent an incredible relaxed day. Try the choco frito :P
