This is one of the Temple of Hinduism. Who wants to come here for worship with couple. This is oldest temple. It was founded many years ago. Exactly I dont know too much. But I heard as well. Also this is strongest temple. It is located in bara district and far way from kalaiya. A festival is here once in 5 years. A festival was here when I was Small kid. This Temple is nearby.

Gadhimai is a former independent municipality in Bara District in of south-eastern Nepal that was merged into Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City on 10 March 2017. It was itself established on 18 May 2014 by merging Pipara Simara, Jitpur Bhawanipur, Chhata Pipra, Phattepur, Dumbarwana Village Development Committees.

The Gadhimai Temple is a holy shrine for Hindus which hosts the Gadhimai festival in Nepal. “Gadhi” means “place” and “Mai” means “mother” in the Bhojpuri language.Because of the mass animal immolation that happens during the feast, the holy place has also made headlines in different international media as the place of biggest animal sacrifice.

Historical temple, reverred by millions in Nepal and bordering areas of India, narrow congested roads leading to the temple, the surrounding location was not very neat and clean when we visited (rainy season was also a contributor for that), small eateries and grocery shops around the temple, about 90 mins drive from Gaur town in Nepal (nearest Indian railway station to Gaur is Bairgania on the Sitamarhi Raxaul rail line, 2-3 KMs the distance separating the two).

After that, in the beginning the whole village offer sacrifices upon the fulfillment of their wishes. Slowly the place become famous and got renowned and many devotees came to sacrifice an offering on their wish fullfillment .Talking about the Temple premises, it is clean and surrounded with ponds(westsideand Sweets shops .There is always a queue on every occasional period like new year, holi and many other festive day . Very quite at this time as we went in Nov so ...but its nice to be there when no any mela as you can see much more then the Mela time...good place to visit...

In every 5 years, there is a huge sacrifice of species of animals.PRE-CAUTION: I have seen some priests around the main temple who will tie strings (raksha dhagain your hand or "tika" on your forehead but they refuse to take what the devotee is actually giving. They continuously try to convince you to offer a few more amounts.I would not lie and have also gone through the same incidents. He just denied taking the amount & literally threw on the floor. I felt so bad & angry there.Im not pointing to everybody there but there are still some who deserve this.

Despite the huge popularity of this place, very poorly managed. Access roads are just ok.

Very crowded and polluted Gadhimai fair. It should be well organized as it is one of the best tourist attraction. One star less due to management teams poor management.

A calm and soul stirring place. The temple community could work more upon cleanliness and the hiked price of commodities at nearby stores (trust me its too hiked a Mazaa bottle of around Rs 55 costs 100 their !)Overall a good place to visit ! 👍

A religious place near kalaiya. It is famous to hold a massive killing of livestocks. The slaughtering is done a bit far from the temple but not that far. This temple needs preservation. The pond next to the temple is needs care as I saw the small paddle boats upside down, waterlevel decreased and it looked horrible. I presume, it gets nice and clean only during that huge festival.

Its a Goddess temple and the story of her origin there is truly amazing.About place: Its in Terai belt of Nepal, so scrounching sun and weather is inevitable, however the site of the temple takes it away.

This place has huge potentials and this is one of the few temples where pilgrims flock like anything. It could be a source of drawing state level funds. Nevertheless, the temple set up is good and there are several other temples inside the complex which is dedicated to various gods. The place is also under construction. It would be nice if the local community could make restrooms, aware people in the surrounding about cleanliness and manage parkings as well as stalls. The only thing that was setting back was the poor road conditions leading to the temple. Nevertheless, it was a good experience.
