Classy fine Traditional French dinning with Michelin star rating ! Always deliver ! Excellent service headed by Edouard Gide and delicious dishes prepared by chef Albin Gobil for both lunch and dinner ! Recalled all the sweet memories during dinner in the old days from Tuesday to Saturday ( used to have live music band and songs of oldies during dinner before the COVID! One of the must visit restaurants in Hong Kong .

Went there on first day dine-in dinner is allowed again. Being the first French fine-dine restaurant in Hong Kong, needless to say that the restaurant has a long history. To emphasize on that history, Gaddis serves a very classic French fine-dining experience. Even just from riding the elevator up, and walking through the interior decor, the mood already stands apart from any others. The food is elegantly prepared to bring out the quality of the ingredients, and then beautifully presented on the dish. Service is impeccable. The waiters and staff are attentive and friendly. The live band performance every night is very talented, and not to be missed. The live music brings the dining experience to a whole new level. Everything together makes this a truly unique dining experience!

Uncoordinated management, waiters and waitresses were running around without a clue as to what they were doing , didnt know how to present a menu, didnt know how to even pour water, European sommelier didnt have much knowledge , food was extremely slow , asking for anything took ages to get, obviously untrained. Snobby young white boys replaced the old and experienced managers. Didnt recognize a single one of them, they also either dont speak English or they didnt know etiquettes on hospitality and greetings. But no matter what it is extremely rude to not properly greet a guest when they are standing right in front of you!Food was Mediocre.... nothing bad nothing good. Definitely not worth going anymore.Worse experience out of a decade of eating at Gaddis. The ambiance is gone.Gaddis has lost its touch and sensibility. This also shows me that in a whole Peninsula hotel group has lost its golden management and hospitality skills, glory days are gone ... or should i say wiped out by their own decision of cutting cost by replacing all the experienced and wise staff with young and clueless white boys. Obviously some racism and bias can be seen in Peninsulas HR department.

Stunning meal here for Christmas Eve. A delightful tasting menu in a beautiful setting. We were so well looked after by the staff, the band were terrific, and we were lucky to have a group of local carol singers join in for a few minutes to share some Christmas carols. All in all a fabulous evening!The meal started with several amuse bouche/appetisers, before diving into the main meal itself. Started with a crab caviar and foie gras dishes, followed by French turbot (fishand quail. Each course was better than the last, and this was true of the desserts as well! The Reindeer and Jingle Bell were beautifully presented - it felt wrong to even eat them!A stunning dessert wine (Mas Amiel 1985to end and cap off a fantastic meal.

DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR CUSTOMER AND YOU’RE NOT OVER 45.Was extremely excited to go back to one of childhood fondest Memories except this time with my wife.Sad to say, they treated us like we were nobody. Food was good but didn’t stand out but with the charm of the decor.We were constantly ignored by waiters because they were too busy entertaining to old time customers and guests. Anytime we raised our hand , they ignore us (70% of the time). We never got anymore than the minimum - name and description of the dish when food arrives. Whilst the next table over, waiters were bending head over heels for.Tbh - I didnt expect too much but the divide between the new wave of restaurants with updated cultural relevancy (people are treated equal no matter what age you areand the old guard like Gaddis (hierarchical elitismis too far too apparent.You may survive till the old customers live but you will not outlive where the world is moving towards.Disappointed. Sad. And disgraced.

Just had a fabulous lunch at Gaddis. Haven’t been for quite some time and will definitely return soon. The background music and general ambiance is wonderful. Service is perfect. Presentation is perfect and very detailed. Each course had a lovely taste and unique textures. Portions are also generous. Thank you Gaddis front and back of house teams for todays dining experience.Update: I have been back today and it is as fantastic as ever.

Two months ago: Just enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Gaddis. Have not been for quite some time. Ambiance is as wonderful as ever and I really liked the background music which helped create a very relaxing and comfortable environment. Fantastic presentation of all courses, very generous portions in my view, lovely taste and texture and perfect service. Truly great food quality. Wish I could dine here at least weekly! Thank you immensely for a beautiful dining experience. Most grateful to all the staff who create such an experience for the guests. Your huge effort and attention to detail are hugely appreciated.July 1, 2021 Enjoyed another amazing lunch here. Everything about this venue is so fantastic but of course the food especially! This time around though the old music was back.... Please mgt choose the right music and bring back the same music that was played around 2months ago!! With regards to the food, nothing can be improved. Absolutely loved it! This venue with this chef deserves no less than five stars.

Best restaurant in Hong Kong for sure. Not just the food but also the impeccable service and attention to details of customer experience.

Food is very average for the price. It just doesn’t live up to other restaurants in the same category. Apart from the Italian waiter, the rest of the waiters were very unprofessional.

Its a shame that Gaddis never got awarded 3 star from Michelin. It surely is one of the oldest and best French restaurants in Hong Kong. Would definitely recommend dining at night because only during night time will there be live band, and full tasting menu available. Yes its expensive but you will never regret it!

Definitely the best restaurant in Hong Kong. The historical atmosphere and nice service brought me to Paris again. It was like a dream when we enjoyed a 4-hour lunch there. Thanks for the waiters who gave us an unforgettable afternoon. The dishes were decent especially for my favorite Foie Grad Ravioli and the baguette with butter were the best I had ever tried. Cant wait to visit again.

It is a first class hotel outlet. The food is tasty and staff is hospitable. It is worth visiting.

I received a call to remind me the booking on 18 Aug 2020. The lady in the phone was very impolite and mean. I was very disappointed because such poor service should not be found in 5 star hotel . I can’t imagine and don’t want to pay for such service. Then I decide to cancel my booking at once.please provide 5 star-hotel training to that rude lady (17Aug,2020). If not, she will ruin the business!!!

A very good French cuisine and fine dining experience in Gaddi’s.A most impressive dish is the Amuse Bouche, a foie gras cream brulee with peanut foam. Amazing texture in my mouth 👄Of course no doubt of the service in The Peninsula.And the perfect ending with the signature chocolate of The Peninsula.**Worth to try a Michelin ⭐️ Star restaurant.

Gaddis temporary closure amidst the pandemic lasted a little over four months. Its reopening didnt make it for moms birthday celebration in late May but we are glad that they finally decide to reopen its doors in early June.This place will always have a special place in my heart cuz well, it’s the first authentic French fine-dining institution the city ever knows. The restaurant had gone into a tailspin for nearly a decade but with Chef de cuisine Albin Gobil and Executive Pastry Chef François Delaire on board, they are certainly trending at the right direction now, which is why Im coming back a lot more these days.

Frozen food served like Costco leftover. Waiter make many mistakes. Restaurant empty but slow service. Maybe nobody come because bad service and frozen food.

The famous French cuisine in town. Excellent ambiance, quiet environment and good food. The weekend lunch set is worth the price. I especially love the appetizer, beef tartare which is authentic. The salad is also freshly served with egg. The main course Hokkaido scallops are well cooked. You must save some room for the tasty desserts. The apple shape mousse cake is delicately made with strawberry inside and served with th icy sorbet ice cream. Its a family friendly place for lunch but make sure you wear the right outfit for this place (men must put on a shirt or any clothings with collars; also, sneakers are not preferred here)

Gaddis is a French haute cuisine restaurant situated in The Peninsula Hong Kong hotel. It was opened in 1953 and named after a former general manager of The Peninsula, Leo Gaddi. The current executive chef is Rémi Van Peteghem. The former executive chef was Philip Sedgwick, the first British head chef of Gaddis.

Good French Food, acceptable service. The Price is disproportionate though to the true level of the dishes quality.

Ill probably just echo what other reviews have said. But having visited a whole lot of luxury dining establishments around the world I can tell you that this place deserves no recognition for its food as there is an abysmal gap between the food and the service. First lets acknowledge what is deserved. The restaurant ambiance and service are high up there with the very best in the world. Not a single detail is overlooked and all the staff are extremely professional. Now to the real deal... The food is... OMG where can I begin??? Appetizer tasteless, second course: the ravioli from a Costco frozen dinner would be better, third: foie gras disgusting (and I honestly cant get it, how can you get foie gras so disgustingly wrong???). Fish?? Honestly fish from any (really ANYbusiness class flight would be better as it is was way overcooked and chewy. Then the poultry... I wont even talk about it...And finally comes the dessert. It was acceptable but not exceptional.Bottomline: It is an awesome decorated place with the very best service youll find a anywhere. But if you are after truly exceptional food please look elsewhere as you will be dramatically disappointed...

The new chef is awful. Service is amazing. But Chef Xavier should be the one creating. Very disappointed. Sent food back 3!!! Times. Then just gave up. The Manager was trying to be as helpful as he could be. But...

Upscale French restaurant in the Peninsula Hotel. The quality of the food at its best. Booking is required. This is an upscale romantic establishment, good to visit with your better half.

Gaddis represents a benchmark for fine dining - their exquisite cuisine, creative presentation and attentive service is difficult to surpass, and with a wine list to die for. Perfect for a tete a tete as well as groups one is guaranteed to be looked after well.

Haven’t been to Gaddi’s for a long time. Now there is a life Jazz band from 7:30 pm with a great singer. I was with my family and we all had a great experience.Ordered wine from the Burgundy region and a 1st Cru. Apparently was their new find from a great small winery. Light but full of fragrance. A wonderful wine.We also asked to play Adele ‘When we were young’ and Louis Armstrong ‘What a wonderful world’. Amazing singer. She also did sing 鄧麗君 ‘月亮代表我的心’.My sons had pigeon and lamb. Wife had the beef cheek and I had the Wagu. All great dishes and finished with dessert.Perfect night and then Uber backed home. Need to be there again.

Strictest dress code known for restaurant open to public. With its extravagant atmosphere and recipes extincted to most, Gaddis is truly one of a kind in town.

The restaurant has shared many of my important moments, from the first fine dining after graduation , job promotion, proposal, anniversary, Family Xmas dinner, and numerous birthday celebration . It is a dining place of classic and proper. (although the singer in the live band can be better 😀)

Perhaps more `refined` individuals might think this restaurant is splendid. Honestly though I just couldnt get over how pretentious the whole experience was. For sure it looks stunning and youre well looked after by the staff. But the whole atmosphere was not welcoming, it was cold and awkward. Add in the fact that its outrageously expensive and the food was just too ridiculously luxurious to actually be enjoyable. I wouldnt go back, its pure luxury for sure and if thats what you`re into then cool. But if youre actually hungry then Id go somewhere else.

Definitely one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to.Executive chef Florian Trento leads his team of experts to deliver exquisite savoury dishes such as their Pan Seared Brittany Langoustine with Lemongrass Crab Dumplings, or the Japanese Amadai with Oyster Sauce and Coconut Foam. They also serve amazing, in house ice-cream, chocolates (love the lavender and salted caramel), and tea such as their 1886 blend.Pair the amazing food with detailed and attentative service and you just cant go wrong with Gaddis for any ocassion! We will definitely return again on our next visit to Hong Kong!

Love the ambience and live music. So romantic and old time classy. Amuse bouche and entrees were great, mains were fine and desserts were good. But the excellent service, live singer and band with great song choice really made it such a wonderful night. A must visit for meal with a difference.
