Casual buffet-style Korean joint where diners select and grill their own meals on small table BBQs.
Food is good, but a portion is super tiny. 6 small slices of pork was charged for $20. Not very keen to comeback
One start is even too generous. I really wanna share the story but not even worth it. Prefer not to go again
Very disappointed with service and pricey. Was pushed by owner to finished the meal, owner kept interrupting the meal time. Was treated like kid, kept telling us to flip the meat, treated like we didn’t know what we were doing, without asking his help. He only care about his gas and meat portion was very small. Never going back, will not suggest to go anyone if you values your money.
terrible service, the owner only worries about his stone, he always turned down the fire . not come back anytime.
Worst korea bbq in Adelaide. Very terrible services and I just cant get that why the staff keep forcing me to get buffet set instant of ala cart. Small portion and cant even fill my stomach up and the it cost $100+ for 4 people. Never ever come again to this restaurant. By the ways you need to get the toilet key from the staff if you wanna use the toilet, so please do be friendly to their staff even though they are terrible if not youre going to hold your pee for the next couple of hours :)
We ordered alacarte and set for two tho the stuff keep pushing us to choose for all you can eat buffet which is not worth it at all with the pricing and types of meat you can have. The service is terrible, the staff was not friendly and pushing us to finish our meal, she keeps turn off the stove and scraping off the meat and oil on the stove without saying and asking. She takes off the gas in the middle of our meal, left us hanging in confused. The food was super awful the meat are not fresh and the set comes in the same plate and just thrown to our stove plate. It was overall the worst experience I’ve ever encountered in Adelaide, rude stuff, unreasonable price we paid 100 dollars for four person and left with half emptied stomach and the food is poor. Btw kimchi is not refillable and you need keys for toilet I would give 0 stars if I could.
Worst place I have eat in my entire life. Not worth for money, the food taste BAD.Keep telling us to order buffet, and the worst is KIMCHI cannot refill!! They give us a little only !
Worst experience. Do not come. We got many sighs and shaking heads from the owner everytime we asked to order more meat. We got asked whether we only eat meat and not pay extra for other dishes, he signed again and brought more meat very unwillingly after we said yes. This is all you can eat, we can have whatever we want, you made the rule, follow it. Ill spend my money on other restaurant where I can have more enjoyable dining experience, never coming back.
Please everyone stay away from this place, the owner is not friendly and provide rude service. Annoying environment, not fair price charge. Ruined my whole night and worthless dinner
Got a terrible experience for dinner. The owner kept to push us to finish the meal and poured all meat into the pan. We spent $40 and ordered different types of meat like marinated beef, but he only gave us sliced beef and pork belly, looks like the cheapest meat.
Have no complaints really food was good but they kinda need to improve on their customer service
It is horrible! We spend 150 for 4 peopleJust don’t want to wast food. But the food we ordered is totally not worth it.Small serveThe boss is all about moneyHate AISIAN even he is oneDisgusted and will report to the SA fair trade. So disappointedSo disgusting
We saw the owner gave our leftover dipping source to the next table, even after we told them we had already dipped our meat in the source. He turned his back on us, hoping we wouldn’t see it.Not even mention the owner constantly rushing us to cook and eat the meat!If you are going to be this stingy, do not offer ‘all you can eat’ menu!!!!
The man only cares about his stone grill. If you have meat on your table he will THROW it RUDELY on the grill so its not burnt. If you have no more meat you’re basically invisible to him. We asked him kindly but he didnt respond. Asked him again and got yelled at. We paid $42pp for him to give us attitude. Great customer service! Aint coming again. 1 star for the meat. Bye
Terrible service. The owner kept rushing us to eat and flip the meat. He threw the raw meat onto the cooked meat?!?! There is no exhaust fan in the restaurant, which is probably which they kept coming over and turning down the heat, it felt like we’re eating meat stew rather than kbbq. When we wanted to order more food, the owner refused to serve because he assumed that we wouldn’t be able to finish it, we were absolutely dumbfounded by that service attitude! The sliced meat are served frozen. But the marinated meat are pretty good. Overall, its not worth the money!
I am a regular at this location. The idea itself is good and the quality always remains the same. If you’re looking for a KBBQ destination in the city en masse this is probably the location. Staff are attentive and will help you out if they recognise you overcooking your meat. I’ve seen some people become offended by this but I personally understand. It delivers on the core aspect of barbecuing Korean butcher meats. No complaints from me.
Worst place ever! Terrible service the guy kept coming over to turn our meat for us after we told him multiple times we could do it ourself.
We had the worst experience tonight with this restaurant. The business owner kept pushing you to cook, it was just like stir frying not BBQ. He charged extra leftover which were bones and fatty meats. He has charged $10 at the beginning and has charged $5 at the end after an argument with him. It is unbelievable and terrible, it doesn’t really make sense for this restaurant. I have never had that experience ever before. I would go to the council to make a complaint for it.
Go J11 Adelaide is a Korean BBQ restaurant at 15 Pitt St, next to a multi story car park between Franklin St and Wakefield St. Multiple tables to cook at and look out the window. A Korean butcher shop is next door. A different experience. Give it a try. Popular in evenings
Customer Service: Absolutely terribleQuality Food: ModerateAtmosphere: not enough insulation, and zero use for air conditioning or exhaustMain Problem: Owner(old malehas limited vocabulary so ordering was difficult. Brought out incomplete orders.Do not recommend.
Had the all you can eat not stingy on serving sizes, service was great chef come out to our table and insisted on us eating more and more. Marinated meats were delicious will be definitely going back 😁
I had came here a week ago and it was astronomically amazing!!!Me and my friend came here with no idea what we would eat but the amazing service helped us pick without issues. The gentleman who I believe is the owner had a few language issues yet he communicated so well and was so friendly!!! Will come back!
Super fresh and super tasty! One bottle of souju and 2 rounds of meat for $50 pp is pretty good imo! The service was okay, however I never expect fantastic service from a K-BBQ. Definitely tasty and will definitely be back!
Love this place. Been quite a few times and loved it every time. Food is fantastic. I did the $40pp with a group they all loved it. You cook it how you want it!
Not recommended. The staff were very unprofessional. The male /guy staff member got angry when we stopped him putting fallen meat into our bbq plates. Also, he keeps pouring all our order into one bbq plate. They charged 80 dollor but gave only one portion. The staff were rellay stressful. They rush to eat. No words to explain the bad experience we had. Again, this is not a good place enjoy your meal. Dont go there. Zero star they deserve but there is no option to gice zero.
Super unfriendly and worst service ever in Adelaide. We chose $40pp and at our 20mins in the restaurant, we asked for add on (2nd round), the owner of the restaurant just pointed at the sigh ‘no waste’ without saying any reminder. Will never come again.
Absolutely a terrible restaurant to dine in. Had all you can eat $35pp. The rice was hard and discoloured. The service was completely shit, had to wait 20 minutes to receive the meats. The place was understaffed. The lettuce had a bug and was not cleaned. The owner threatened to charge us $5 for each unpalatable pork meat we didnt eat. Also, the staff/owner kept turning off the gas even though we were still eating. When we asked to split bill, the owner told us that an extra dollar would be charged, which only applied to those paying on card. There were seven of us and four paid cash, but the owner demanded $36 for all four of us. We argued with him about surcharges not applying to cash for 10 minutes and the guy wouldnt give up. The owner kept swearing and mumbling some profanity we did not understand. So we succumbed and ended up paying the extra dollar even though it was all in cash. The worse meal Ive had in my life. Please do not come to this place.
The food tasted good, but the heat on our table stove was constantly being turned down which made the the meat stew more then give a nice browning. There are no exhaust fans above the table, maybe thats why the heat was turned down. Staff were friendly and the food came out fairly quickly.
Would not recommend for friends or families gathering and pregnant ladies. The menu stated time limit for the all you can eat session is 100 minutes. However, the grumpy owner wants us to leave in 70 minutes. Service was terrible that he keeps trying to get us to eat food that is not cooked well. We tried to explained to him but he keeps saying ‘fast cook taste better’. I would suggest cook all the meat in well done
One really cannot find another BBQ worst than this place.-For 40AUD per person, apart from typical kimchi and beansprout, there is no sides or any sort of appetizers, warm or cold.-The meat options are mostly HOTPOT frozen meats! And only 3 types of fresh meat.-The waiter/guy keeps coming to our table every 2-3 minutes to rush us to eat eat eat, and keeps pouring all our orders onto the grill plate non stop.-To ease them cleaning the grill plate, the guy keeps returning to turn off the fire, whilst the food is still raw inside, and he even turned off the main switch so that we cannot turn it back on.-Every order, my photo shows the portion they give us, way too stingy. You really cannot find another BBQ place worst than this, food quality or service. And I have never been to a restaurant experiencing so much STRESS.Not to mention, 40AUD is way more expensive than some quality BBQ you can find in Sydney.P.S. I have been here a few years ago and the meat was fine and fresh and not like this. This place is just plain sad and pathetic.
I got the All you can eat $35pp. The food was ok. Intestine and spring onion salad were my favourite! The owners couldn’t speak English very well but they were very helpful. The gas was on and off many times but the owners changed it immediately so I didn’t mind that.
Terrible service from the owner! Do not go here unless you want to be ripped off. The food didnt even taste good plus on the lettuce was a bug which was disgusting, the sets as described by the owner is only 450g which is super weird for their price (costs $49-$55and they encourage you to buy the buffet. The owner continuously turns the stove down even when were cooking which is super annoying. All the meat is just put together and just given in a big plate. Not to mention, a big hazard is that they give you tongs which is made of PLASTIC. Why would anyone use plastic on fire, some of the plastic has even melted and has deformed the tongs (red one).
Great service! The owner walks around and help you determine when the meat is cooked if you need. The meat is fresh and great quality, Super worth the value! Will definitely come back regularly. Strongly recommend to any meat lover friends.
Better don’t come. The boss is so mean! The boss charged us for $5 for each one just because we have only 3 pieces of small leftover? He even became angry while we are taking photos for the evidence! He’s even warning us to delete it! In other words, his personality is only worth 5 dollars!! And that’s a good deal to see through a mean boss for only 5 dollars. Will NEVER come again, very disappointed.
I wont spend my time to write a review Unless its truely deserve it. This family own restaurant has not only provided me with a fulfilling stomach much more it has made my friends and family feel welcomed. The owner is truely kind hearted and fatherly figure. What more can you expect. Please try and you wont regret a second of your experience.
Thanks for the chef and the staffs in here, theyre extremely friendly. You might find abit high price for buffet but overall I believe their quality of meats are worthy.
By far the best KBBQ in Adelaide!Golden River is full of smoke at a high price.Other places are cramped and expensive! The survice at GO-JII is awesome with friendly and happy staff that are willing to help you with your experience if you are new to KBBQ.I highly recommend this this restaurant.
Incredible food and super friendly staff!Had a great chat with the owner and the hotpot was delicious
Honestly, a bit skeptical after all the bad reviews. Saying that, me and hubby went in around 7.30pm on a Tuesday night. Theres a couple of tables, less than half the restaurant. The service given was attentive. The server/boss will cook the meats for you. I find that easy on our part as usually we have to take turns to cook then eat. The cooking is almost 80%done for you. Just enjoy it. They will turn off the gas when the meat is cooked properly, first to save gas and second, prevent overcooking. The portions given is proportional to how many pax. If you need more, just order, its ALL YOU CAN EAT. But bear in mind that wastage is calculated. I think many a times people forget to be decent human being when they see a buffet or all-you-can-eat. Give this place a try when youre going for Korean BBQ. Its not as bad as other ppl say.
Best not to come! The worst meal process! Stingy, unpalatable, disgusting. Take back the rice I haven’t eaten. I don’t know if the rice will be eaten by the next guest. It’s hard to imagine if the food on our table is left over from other tables. Because there are two left We received a warning from the boss for a piece of unpalatable pork. Then we were charged a $5 photo fee and threatened us to delete the photo. This shop was smashed before, now I know the reason. I will discourage all my friends from coming to this store, hoping that this store will close down soon.
Not recommend, eat there more like a mission rather than a dinner. Manager there always gave pressure to customers, no waste otherwise penalty, even when we cooked the bbq as a fresh man so the food got burnt accidentally. He just told me “you cooked it” and put the burnt food directly to my plate...
Not worth the price unless if you are going for buffet AND if you eat a lot. Otherwise the food and customer service is below average, not worth spending the money. We were craving for Korean BBQ and this place was recommended by a few friends - but we were surprised to see low Google ratings, now I understand why.
Got the $40/pp all-you-can-eat and got all the meats available on the menu. The mister was serving the food for us and he was in quite a rush, maybe because we came quite late, about 1 and a half hours before closing time. The quantity of meat, variety of the meats, and the quality of them make up for the price. I particularly liked the ox tongue and bulgogi.Make sure to not have any leftovers or they will charge you $5/pp extra for wasting food.
Staff didn’t look happy, gave us a bit of attitude when we ordered extra for all you can eat option. Brought out like 4 piece of meat. Told the man we like the pork belly a bit golden. Kept turn off the gas. Wanted us to eat white chewy pork. Definitely!! Not coming back
Ordered the $40 set and the food was average to below average. Nothing special from the choices of meat to side dishes. Marinated meat was sweet, sauce was so so and most of the meat is frozen, thin slices.Service was also bad, as the waitresses were too involved and always tried to cook for you, which become annoying rather than helpful. Waitresses seemed to have not much experience in serving. However, the worst thing was the grill. After a few times of cooking, it became sticky and black. And the point is you cant change the grill and have to continue cooking meat with a burnt grill.Overall, with this price you can go to other KBBQ places and receive better quality for your money. Will not comeback.
Great quality of meat. Friendly owners. ❤️ it! Been a regular customer for 3+years and will continue to come here. Friends that I brought here all loved it too.
Not bad. Quite like the more casual vibe. Prices arent too expensive either although its slightly on the high side.
Most epic Korean BBQ in Adelaide. Cold noodles is a bloody win as well. Excellent service.
Visited last night on a last minute decision.. and boy am I glad! The food was amazing, like... I debated if me and the partner should come back as a weekly tradition amazing. Great portions and super fun to eat with the hotplate in the middle. Staff were also so friendly.
Was attracted by the BBQ smell while walking thru Pitt street. Nice portion and value for the money. Love the service!
