Must-visit attraction in Coimbatore cityA day well-spent appreciating the people, history and technology behind some of the most iconic cars that have marked the automobile era. Do plan to spend at least 4-5 hrs to do justice to both the car and science museums. My suggestion would be to visit the car museum first in order to maximize the time spent with its well-preserved beauties.

You have to pay twice in order to see the car museum and the science museum. Apart from that, the car museum is worth a visit and does showcase some truly antique cars which will surely uplift the mood of any car lover. The science museum is not that great and seems like very little effort was put into it.
Very nice place for kids who like cars. We cn see how car has been evolved. They have displayed very well..
Deborah Meaden on Dragons Den UK once said that deciding to purchase a car is an emotion, and in Gedee Car Museum I could sense it. These cars were not just a muse placed for all to see, but the once held emotion. They had an owner. They were humanised. Loved. Each had a story to tell.Everyone has a different way of looking at vehicles. Some wonder about the horsepower, the evolution of suspension and engines, the change in length of cars, the introduction of minimotors...and I was there to imagine. Draw a picture around the cars. Think of the economical owners and the Maharajas the cars served.I viewed the marketing pieces. "Ford Cortina," manufactured by Ford US, when introduced in Britain came "with a British accent". Mindblown. Simple but a culture-barrier breaking statement.Gedee Car Museum is a place to learn History in a motorised way! An experience. I came out of the museum a changed person.
There is a saying that GD Naidu is the Nicola Tesla of India (not Edisonand this museum is a perfect tribute for that saying. The museum provides immense knowledge about the history of cars and its evolution. They got lots of vintage cars and even replicas of many. For auto enthusiasts, its a must visit if you are in Coimbatore.Had adequate parking space, and staff behaved well and provided good information whenever questioned. The entry fee is just Rs. 75 per head for an adult.
Museum has a collection of around 70 vintage and modern cars..each and every model is great in its own way of style.management pays good attention for maintenance.we enjoyed a lot and clicked lots of pics..worthy place to hang out..
An amazing collection of premium vintage cars. And this is even more special bcoz all of them were own by a single person named Mr. Naidu, after whom the museum is named. There is one museum beside the car one, science museum, which is also a collection of various scientific stuff from across the world. One should definitely visit this museum Along with the kids.
The best in the town. Had a great experience. Lots of vintage cars like Rolls Royce, Austin, Morris Garage, Mercedes Benz, Ford etc. They even got many replicas made by the students of their institute.
It didnt had a vast area...But gave a nice experience of the history of cars. They had many vintage cars and cars that I have seen only in movies. It may not cost you more than 1hour. So its definitely worth for 1 hour. They also had the intresting information about the cars. The first models of nowadays premium sector car companies could be seen there. The evolution of cars was the real thing to observe !
Shri G D Naidu is rightly called Edison of India. His contributions are underrated in todays world. Such a wonderful human being. His innovations and efforts to make india self reliant are priceless. A man, had he flourished would be similar to TATA. A wonderful experience visiting his museum. Felt like another world. Didnt expect such a wonderful collection of exotic cars in India. Beautifully explained about his history.Overall priceless experience. Must visit. And recommend to everyone you know. Youll get a feel of what Atmanirbhar really is.
This is a hidden gem in coimbatore. I came across this by chance on the internet. The fees is nominal and its conveniently located on avinashi road.It chronicles the inception and transition of cars. Pain staking effort has gone into description of every single vintage piece ( there are probably more than 50)Highly recommend a visit

Lovely museum to see the history of cars. Theres a wide range of antique cars here, and the information attached along are knowledgeable. Theres a science museum too. Mostly has the legacy about GD Naidu and his contributions and inventions. This is absolutely informative and knowledgeable as well. A couple of science games to understand some concepts-kids would like them alot too. Neatly maintained place. Theres entry fees for both the museums. And the place is closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly.
A perfect visit for car lovers and enthusiasts. Great collections, perfectly maintained and neat premises. Ticket price seems to be little overpriced, but worth a watch. Photos can be taken without touching cars. Near to Car museum, science museum also exhibited with separate entry ticket. Dashboard briefs on modes. GD Naidu a perfect example for exemplary.
First i give 5 star... Here all kind old cars and motorcycle here... Nice ambiance... Good lighting.. Many unknown cars available here... ππ₯°π Good to visit all...
Unexpectedly an awesome place. Before visiting I was thinking about some museum with few old cars. But its much more than that. It has a very large variety of classic cars which is a visual treat and also several other motor bikes. The other part of the story is scientific museum which you will get mesmerized with the items they have and exceptional maintenance. GD Naidu is a powerhouse scientist and invented several items which several are not aware of. Its a perfect place for kids as they have a lot to see and learn and remember. Dont miss this when you visit Coimbatore. Its Rs.100 per adult and Rs.50 for kids for both museum together. A must visit place and got for it!
A great place to spend about 45 minutes in awe of automobile history.Detailed history of a wide array of vehicles are available and each vehicle is absolutely breathtaking.Further the atmosphere is generally non-crowded and the entry fees very affordable, gives one time to look around at your own pace in a silent environment.Great place for kids and adults alike, parking space is also available.
It was a great experience. I didnt think I would get to see the old technology and old cars in real life. This is an educative trip for all the techies and car lovers. I will definitely come back to see it again as I couldnt cover it entirely due to our schedule. This is a really good place for all aged people to learn new stuff
