GAUCHOS Steakhouse in Gibraltar

Fantastic food...the old chef is back and therefore the steaks are great again. Service could be better (slow and not especially cheerful staffand it is a pricey place to go.

Of you enjoy meats and amazing steak cooked on the grill this is most certainly the place for you. Had meat platter with my friend to share it was stunning..

Not local but ate here yesterday (20th Augand it was such a lovely evening. Food was absolutely delicious, steak cooked to perfection, beef Ragu just the most delicious. The staff and service were brilliant. Made special by the wonderful music from Gino, lovely voice and really added to the atmosphere. Would 100% recommend.

The food is excellent. I tried to convince the people to open a second restaurant in my city. Sadly they refused.

Highly quality, premium steak served as always. The standard of the food is second to none. There is room for improvement in terms of service, however you can tell they do care about customer experience and are definitely working on improving it.

Amazing service, presentation and food. Friendly efficient staff. Argentinian steak was beautiful and we had sautéed potatoes. Back in October so will be booking again.

Just absolutely loved the Argentinian Ribeye we had a Gauchos recently. The flavour was amazing and the side order were delicious too.One of the best steaks weve enjoyed for such a long time.Cooked to perfection and seasoned impeccably.

Loved it great food

When I order an Angus beef rib I expected it would be grilled as in my country but alas is was stewed. This is no meat to be cooked into stew. The provoleta cheese was to die for.

This place is now my favorite of many steak houses Ive eaten at! I tried the medium-ripened sirloin steak, which was surprisingly tasty.Unlike steak, which is sold in slices, the restaurant seared a large sirloin until it was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, with a small amount of muscle remaining. You can double grill it yourself on a piping hot slab, but even if you dont do that, the steak is good enough.The waiting time may be a bit longer, but the abundance of gravy in the steak will prove its worth the wait!

I went with around 10 of of us after me and wife got married at the registry office around the corner. I didn’t like the taste of the steak I was given it just didn’t taste right. When I told the waiter he was really rude and made me feel really uncomfortable in front of my family. I will never be coming back to this restaurant. ⬇️ See… patronizing, of course I was at Gaucho I know the restaurant well and the picture of it is right here. Gibraltar is relatively small so everything is practically round the corner.

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. Staff very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend. Prices reflect the quality of the food.

Very good food, as a vegan i found something to eat as well:high quality, great atmoshpere.

Without a shadow the best meal we had in Gibraltar and for many years previous. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, however a stone was also brought to the table in case you fancied any additional cooking. The fish dish was also nothing short of exceptional, cannot recommended this place enough

My other half and I run a pub just outside London, myself as the General Manager, and himself as the Head Chef. I can absolutely say without question that was the best food I have eaten in a long time. Service was professional and attentive and I cannot recommend the food highly enough. Quality was incredible. Thank you so much Gauchos for a wonderful last night of holiday!

Four of us go to Gauchos for steaks once a month. As we got to the door the sign said Only double vaccinated allowed in. We are all double vaccianted but know we are at no risk from unvaccinated people and decided this is discrimination and will never go back again. That`s £1500 a year spend gone.

We had chicken nuggets for kids, argentinian steak for us, fish, salads, tofu and risotto. Everything came perfect. Kind and pro service. We had great time.

Ordererd a steak and for some reason they served us a cut from a baby cow which did not taste like beef at all. It tasted like pork. Taste was very very bland.When we asked they told us it was beef but they should have left it in the fridge another week before serving people.Food was very average, would not recommend.

Loved it! The meat platter we ordered to share amongst the three was more than enough. The service was spot on! I would definitely recommend this place to others! Thank you Gauchos staff!

Delicious food and friendly service. Incredible steaks but quite pricey.

We visited this steakhouse and were very suprised by the quality of the food, the steak was cooked to perfection! We liked it so much we decided to visit again on the last day of our week holiday in gibrltar. We returned on a friday night, the steak was not cooked quite as good as was served on the first day we came, but the management was great at handling customers and sorting out issues. They treated us very well, so i can only reccommend this restaurant to dine at!

The food is outstanding. I had a fillet steak which was at least twice the size you get in England. My wife had duck and she loved it

The food was amazing! The best steak I’ve had, the meat was very juicy and tender & all 4 orders cooked to perfection. The portions were well served the steak was large and the chips we ordered were a decent portion. We also got some deserts which were lovely. Although the price mark is on the the upper end the food was beautiful and the waiting staff very attentive so well worth it. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing meals at Gaucho Gibraltar. All the steaks we order for our table, a party of five were just amazing - juicy & huge. Trust me if I said its excellent, it has to be as I am an excellent cook myself. All the steaks were cooked to what each of us ordered & to perfection. It was better than the Gaucho in Piccadilly London. Top marks hence the reason for this review & 5 stars rating & I dont normally write reviews or give feedbacks 😁

Great dinner! Very good meat, high quality. The service was very nice and we didnt wait too long for the food.

Very good steaks and good wine selection. One star less because I do not like it when the staff is re-filling the wine glass every time it goes below a certain level, allow your guests fill their own glasses instead of trying to sell more wine bottles.

Came here as part of a tour group.Everyone had to choose between steak or fish n chips. Have to say, both were a bit disappointing.On the plus side, the steak was a solid medium rare and I am impressed by that given that the chef had to dish out 15 steaks on the fly, definitely a feat to keep them all consistent. On the bad side, it was largely underseasoned. The meat was fine, but it was in desperate need of seasoning to upgrade it from bland.The fish n chips were fine, but there wasnt any tartar sauce; instead, it was guacamole. Its like a Californian sous chef finished did the garnishes after the head chef finished the frying.Theres some novelty to the concept of building the restaurant in an old bomb shelter, cant help but feel some sense of history looking at the roof and walls. On the negative side, it does mean that you most likely will encounter Internet signal issues while eating inside.

The food is fantastic and the service even better. Its not an every day venue but worth experiencing at least once. Friday is a good night as they have all you can eat BBQ and live music. Never had a bad experience here. I would recommend this place especially for those with a good appetite.

Walked past this place so many times but always opted for somewhere cheaper, went for it tonight, so glad we did, food was amazing, staff so nice and genuinely friendly, definitely worth the money.

Visited this restaurant a week ago, and we are still talking about it!. Food was great, had Chateaubriand on garlic and rosemary. Starters were interesting and different from the usual banal salads, the service was spot on, waiters were very attentive, cannot find fault at all. Very nice all in all. Would recommend any meat lover to try this restaurant.

Order a bottle if you drink more than one large wine. Id recommend the menu over the all you can eat bbq. The food from the menu has been high quality. My bbq steak was thin and not as good as the menu steak.Good atmosphere with live music. Well be going back again.

I honestly cant fault Gauchos, one of the best steaks Ive ever eaten! Genuinely a must visit restaurant if youre in Gibraltar. A fascinating building too, the restaurant being built in the walls of an old military emplacement. The staff are efficient without being too overbearing. Good selection of beers and wine to accompany any meal, and whilst eating at Gauchos isnt it isnt the cheapest option, it is worth every penny!

This pseudo-fancy place is next to a busy roundabout. The prices are way too high for really mediocre lumps of meat served on plain boring plates. The sides should make the whole dish if you wanna charge this much. Very disappointing visit, the staff didnt even bother defending the chefs talent, nice people though. Sorry you wont be seeing us again for sure...

Nice restaurant in a historic place. Good selection of food - especially steak - and wine too. Main dishes come on their own, so you do have to order sides in addition to your main meal. I would say more on the expensive side - £90 for two mains, two sides and a bottle of wine, with a cheese board to share afterwards - however was well worth the money. The best meal we had in Gib.

The meat was excellent. Tender and delicious.

Heard the hype, so paid it a visit. Will not disappoint your inner carnivore. Great selection of cuts of meat and all cooked to perfection and taste delicious. Be warned some may say its expensive, but we thought it was worth it.

Imo completely overrated. Rib eye steak was tough; for 29 pounds (U.K.I expected much more. Service would have gotten a higher rating if they had managed to get our orders right.Dont bother with this place.

Nice place, nice staff, nice cocktails but the food took forever to come out and when it did major disapointment . The T bone was so over cooked it was like eating charchole and the mixed grill each piece of meat was so dry. The waiter did try and make it up to us but by this point we just wanted to leave its amazing what a baf chef can do to a place

Excellent, warm, welcoming staff. Great outdoor dining area. The food was on another level. Great choices of meat, cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend. Great place to spend our last evening in Gibraltar.

Quite possibly some of the best steak Ive ever eaten. Very friendly staff.

Great food and a very enjoyable experience. Went as a party of 13 and ordered a broad selection across the menu, all was of a high quality. The hot stones on the table got everyone involved in the experience and meat was all of a high quality. Prices were reasonable, staff were very attentive and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The steaks here are absolutely huge! The quality in general is quite good, but not phenomenal. They give you a hot stone to cook them on if you want to cook them a bit more. Its getting busier as the summer approaches, so I would recommend booking.
