Description
Decided to stop here for coffee after an afternoon at Claremont. Well worth it. One of the tastiest coffees and impeccably presented 👌.
MoreExcellent coffee and cake, worth a divert
In my opinion Giro serves the best flat white around . Perfect crema, temperature and richness of flavour. Really delicious coffee. Great service and a great relaxing place to sit and enjoy your coffee..highly recommended..
MoreCame from London and stumbled across this most mediocre cafe that cannot make a flat white.Atrocious customer service from start to finish, coupled with disgusting coffee. Super weak flat white and when requested to make a stronger flat white (which you can find in any decent coffee shop in Londonthe barrister/staff member at Giro with blonde hair felt it was a lot of hassle to do and said: “so you don’t want a normal flat white?” Whilst rolling her eyes, sarcastically. A simple, “sorry - let me make this again for you but stronger this time and let me know after if it’s okay” should’ve been the correct response and expectation.Advice for Giro owner: hire people who know what real customer service is and actually care about their job. “The customer is always right” should be something you need to urgently preach to your staff. Not, roll your eyes and make it feel a hassle to make another coffee because the initial was so weak to then AGAIN make it horrendous!! Also, take the time and effort to train your staff how to make a proper coffee that is strong. Perhaps, take a leaf out of one of London’s top coffee shops such as Rosslyn??Only people who haven’t travelled the world and ever tasted proper coffee will say this place is good; period. Avoid.
MoreHuge portions. Fast service. Fairly spacious outdoor area next to the cafe. Lots of room to park your bike. Highly recommended.
MoreIn town for business and always appreciate a good coffee, and this is just the ticket. Really nice, bike themed cafe. Cracking cortado.
MoreI saw a couple of guys time their coffee break and calorie intake on Strava - Surrey cyclists.
MoreAmazing coffee shop (especially for cyclists)! Super delicious pastry, sandwiches and coffee, bike racing on TV and great jerseys/equipment to buy,.. a Mecca for all cyclists going south of London, can really highly recommend!
MoreThe breakfast burritos here are excellent. Great coffee, can get crowded but is a great post ride cafe
MoreBest Coffee not only for how its made itself but for the friendly casual and great environment you can breath since you are inside. Must stop by! Alè
MoreLovely cafe with nice staff, great food and well made coffee. Good selection of emergency bike kit (inner tubes etcand a little clothing shop at the back. Recently had my bike serviced and upgraded by danny in the workshop and he was amazing. Really helpful and got me my bike back in days. Would 100% recommend.
MoreCan be very busy with cyclists on weekend mornings but good coffee and cakes. Nice seating areas inside and plenty of seating outside.
MoreBy far the best coffee in Esher, not from a Karens point of view. But as an SCA Qualified Barista I can confidently say this is the best coffee you will find in the area. The young men in spandex are definitely a plus.
MoreDelicious food - although the breakfast burrito had way way too much Mayo in - the rest was yummy
MoreAmazing coffee and great spot for cyclist! Indoor and outdoors seating available
This cafe for cyclists is in an amazing location. Best coffee Ive ever had in years in this city. Opens at 7:30 in the morning everyday which makes it a perfect pitstop for a morning ride.
MoreFabulous even with having to wait in the chill spring air on Esher High Street. Coffee top class, service great and they were attentive and courteous to those customers who hadnt spotted the "Only 1 customer inside at any time" sign outside. Cant wait to get back and enjoy this place properly
MoreAs an Esher resident in lockdown, I have found Giro cafe as a safe and well run environment to get a good cup of coffee when working from home and getting my permitted daily exercise. Staff have been strict on masks when serving takeaways inside and while there can be a queue outside, but this has always been socially distanced. In tough times, I think this establishment has been a credit to our community.
MoreCafe is brilliant. Fantastic coffee, cakes, sandwiches and the cycling gear is second to none. I also recently had my bike serviced there and the service I recieved there was the best I have ever experienced. Could not recommend Danny in the workshop enough. If you need a bike service, then go to G!RO.
MoreLove this coffee shop. Part bicycle shop and part coffee shop. Heaps of cyclists visit. I came for an oat milk flat white and also found the vegan peanut butter cookie bar. Will definitely return! My partner had the espresso and Guatemalan filter.
MoreBest cafe anywhere on the planet! Their coffee is amazing, their food is delicious and their team are just SO welcoming that whether you go in alone or with friends you always feel like youre with friends! Its great for mid cycle trips but also to work remotely during the day, anyone and everyone will be welcomed!
MoreGreat Cyclist stop off and general public, love this cycling themed coffee shop on par with Rapha clubhouse if not better as there is so much more cake and food on offer than Rapha.Staff are friendly and very enthusiastic with a great selection of coffees on offer as well as G!RO merch at the back.I especially liked the memorabilia dotted around the shop, there is also a very modern looking outside area to eat with plenty of places to park your bike safely. We will definitely be visiting again as a club ride 👍
MoreAmazing coffee. Nice spot. Totally coming here more often. Lots of benches outside and plenty of space to park bikes!
MoreThis is a super cyclist cafe. The coffee is excellent, food is superb and the service is friendly. On top of all this you can pick up apparel as well whilst you are here. The atmosphere is cosy and seating both inside and out are good and there are locks available if you want to lock your bike up whilst you sip your cappuccino (although I can’t imagine anyone can steal your bike past so many cyclists keeping an eye on your bike for you).
MoreNice place. Went for lunch and had a delicious sandwich and my daughter had a wrap she loves. The deco is done with good taste and the coffee very good. A place to go to for breakfast or lunch - and you dont have to be a cyclist to be welcomed!
MoreHave been a few times, most recently for the café run going from here to look mum no hands.Nice coffee, service could have been a little quicker as there werent many people in and we were on a bit of a pitstop mission. However great for coffee and cake on a more relaxed visit.
MoreCoffee is organic which is great but cappuccino was a weak and then was asking for an extra shot it curdled all up. Baristas need more training...Food is okay, focaccia was good.Chairs were a bit uncomfortable for us as well and music a bit loud.Great place for cyclists on high adrenalin.
MoreDid the Look Mum No Hands to Giro Cafe run, Giro cafe is a small friendly place with a small shop at the rear. Had a NY Deli Bagel and it was great. Coffee gave a good jolt as well.
MoreOne of our favourite coffee spots on a ride. Great coffee, nice cakes and some interesting gear.
MoreGreat coffee, great service, nice menu. CRAZY busy on the weekends though!
The best bacon and sausage roll Ive ever had. There was a little bit of a wait for it, but well worth it. Plenty of parking for bikes. They also have a handful of locks inside if you dont have one.
MoreExcellent pit stop for cyclist. Very good coffee and facilities
If searching for independent non high street bad thjs is for you. Outside seating. Healthy lunch and good coffee. Didnt have time to enjoy delicious cakez on offer.
MoreSome of the best coffee and a great atmosphere. The staff clearly care about providing a good service.
MoreI have seen this cafe before with bikes outside and took the opportunity when in the area on the bicycle to pop in. The ambience was unpretentious, welcoming to non-cyclists of which I saw a few young families and the decor good. The filter coffee (mine was Colombianof which four were available was excellent as was the breakfast burrito. I grabbed a sample book and relaxed for a while. I hope for them that it lasts as this is truly a wonderful place to visit, with excellent standards.
MoreCycle scene and great coffee. 7:15am on a Sunday morning and there’s more carbon fibre outside (in the form of high end bikesthan you’ll see in most places. The coffee and food is lovely too.
MoreNot a cyclist but the cafe has a great ambience and a fantastic soy hot chocolate ..... definately a thumbs up
MoreGreat place to stop by and have a coffee after a bike ride . Even though most of the customers are cyclists the atmosphere is welcoming for everybody. This coffee shop is placed in a nice area and the local people are friendly.
MorePopped in for the first time whilst walking home today. Rapid friendly service. Lemon drizzle cake probably one of the best Ive ever had. Super comfy armchairs & sofa & chilled atmosphere. Great place to stop off & rest a while
MoreIve been coming here for a few years now. Giro is located in the ideal spot if youre riding out into Surrey and need some refreshments. The coffee is excellent and during the warmer months cold brew is available. There is usually a good selection of cakes as well as various savoury options. They also have the legendary Jackpot peanut butter on toast with sliced bananas.Staff are friendly and the space itself is well designed with some cycling memorabilia on display as well as a selection of kit on sale.Giro is loved by cyclists and non-cyclists alike and deserves its excellent reputation.
MoreWhat a great sport or bikers and coffeelovers alike! Delicious brews, succulent treats, also matcha and turmeric lattes and teas if youre so inclined. Cool chill vibe and happy service.
MoreLove this place. Coffee is always fantastic - strong but not bitter. Have had several different baristas and they all pour amazing coffee. The avo with salsa is really tasty and filling and the cakes are to die for (especially the peanut butter slice!)
MoreGreat coffee, simple delicious food and fantastic staff. Cyclist or not, this is a great place to go. Wish we lived closer.
MoreCannot imagine a more awesome place to flop after a killer ride. Great cappuccino - I am very fussy. And lovely food with fresh high quality and ingredients... and by the looks of things if you are so inclined lovely homemade cakes also. Nice staff, and friendly atmosphere amongst the cyclists most of whom will have been riding similar routes in the lovely surrey hills.
MoreA lovely place to stop for coffee during a ride or for any other reason. Always full of cyclists, the atmosphere is friendly, with attentive staff. The food on offer is very tasty, and well priced. The back of the cafe contains a small, but will stocked cycle shop.
MoreArrived around lunchtime on a Sunday. Very busy and quite noisy. As one might expect the clientele was 90% cyclists in Lycra (us included). Coffee options quite confusing, but barista very helpful. Food prices on the high side but my avocado and bacon on toast (£6was very tasty. By the time we left the place had calmed down. Will be back.
MoreYou really dont have to be a cyclist to enjoy this place, but if you are then youll definitely feel at home. Youll never catch me wearing lycra but I still think its the best place to relax with excellent coffee and a cake or two in Esher. The service can be a little slow at busy times but Giro makes me feel calm and happy enough that it doesnt bother me.
Moreexcellent coffee shop, friendly staff and atmosphere.Stopped by the first time yesterday at 8am and was heaving with cyclistsEven has plenty of jerseys to choose from and purchase. Highly recommended.
MoreWe loved this place! My espresso was delicious and properly Italian. One of the best I have had anywhere!. We loved the cycling theme. There should be more independent coffee shops like this.
MoreGreat local hang out spot for coffee, cakes and then at nights wine and beer. They have wonderful pour over coffee, which is the way it should be. Feels like a big family room for the neighborhood. People meet up there and just hang out. Plus, if you are a cyclist you cant miss it post ride with all the others. Always friendly staff.
