head bartender anita was incredibly rude, hostile and harrassing to my friends and i. as i was on vacation and this was my last night in vancouver, it was very upsetting to be treated so poorly and aggressively with 0 cause. do not give this place your business.

Awesome karaoke place! The only issue is that they only put the lyrics in the singer’s screen, so if you want to sing along you can’t :(

Chose this bar because it had a weird name.Very good time, great karaoke, energy and atmosphere.Only negative is there are no beans.

Cheap beer and lots of room to sit inside. Cool artwork for sale on the walls and staff is nice. Advisable to come during daylight hours as its on the border of the infamous DTES. Smells a little like pee (though it could have wafted in from outside?)

Been here twice. I like it in general for the vibe, friendly staff, karaoke and that everyone is a bit odd in a good way. But the last night that I was here I walked in there was a disgusting smell. Walked up to bar and stood in something mushy looked down and it was vomit. They took their time to clean it. Then when going bathroom later on in the night I had to stop suddenly and walk backwards because a huge rat was strolling along the floor. Biggest rat I’ve ever seen. We looked behind the radiator because that’s where it went and there was more dead rats behind the radiator. Tables are always sticky too.As I said I like the vibe and people there but please for the love of god deep clean the place and get pest control. Feel like I’ll catch diseases there it’s so unhygienic lol

Well the bartender was awesome and I love that it is a rock bar... But the smell is not the best and the glasses are not the cleanest. Also it is located in a pretty sketchy part of the downtown

Coming here js always a good time! People singing , drinking and having a laugh I absolutely love it. Drinks are pretty cheap and the bartenders are great!

Best. Karaoke. Ever. Great crowd, good drinks, and such an accepting and energetic vibe. This is the place to be on a Friday night if you truly love music.

Came here as a tourist to the area, walked in and was greeted by the smell of urine, sticky floors, and overall wasnt feeling the vibes.

Wow!! This place was super fun, great vibes, love that they have a stage for you to get up & sing. friendly staff, karaoke host was really nice.. Need to get in early cuz they dont lack singers. Check this place out, youll have a blast!!

Very fun place, although the washrooms STANK and you could smell the washrooms from the stage since the door was open

New administration. The Djs take too long to start the karaoke because they are not tech savy. On Fridays and Saturdays forget about singing twice. You get one song and thats it (but they wont let you know, unless you ask).

The atmosphere there is wild and fun. Really upbeat. Great music. The Karaoke there is a blast. Wed to Sun. Go there and sing on the lit up six ft above ground stage. Staff there are fantastic :)

Great Ill be on fun crowd wonderful stuff but the sound system is absolutely awful. Couldnt hear the singers at all. Still I recommend this place its definitely worth the trip

Prices are good karaoke is well run bar staff are great! Hasent changed very much since covid if you liked old funky its not terribly diffrent

The place was fun, people were great but we were there on a karaoke night and the host, d strut was extremely un-accommodating, and honestly quite mean! Wouldn’t recommend them as a host for anything. Brought down the rating of the whole bar !

The bar itself is as awesome as it is MOST inviting. With its doors rarely closed, the grounded foundation of which it resides; the atmosphere has a mix of alternative-punk-metal-rock- vibes. Thus, (personally speakingit is not only felt as being a part of a Vancouvers early rocknroll days, but with collecting art pieces, ie. Posters, pictures, portrait... over the years, it too is ITS OWN type of addition pieces of the D.T.E.S. NOT FOR SALE!!🤘🏻

Head bartender is incredibly rude to the door man, sound man, and other bar staff who are all chill people doing their jobs reasonably well. Treating your team like trash shouldnt fly in 2021.

Came here with my friends and it was really fun! I was kinda nervous about coming here, since it was my first bar and first time drinking. We let this be known to the staff and they were nothing but super helpful. After they closed at 3, they didnt even rush us out, they were super nice about it.

had some positive and negative experiences at FWB, first the staff were pretty decent and the drinks were not too pricey but my main issue was that the karaoke was disorganized as they do it by randomly picking a name from a jug, it took almost 3 hours before I had a chance to sing. The other issue I had was that some of the people there were quite rude, one girl kept running into our table in hopes that we would move, I guess we took her usual spot. Next time I have the urge for Karaoke I will probably go somewhere more inviting.

Interesting spot with Karaoke starting around 9:30p every night. A simple variety of drinks at a price not too bad for the neighborhood.

What a venue. The lifted stage makes for a killer karaoke night. Its dingy, its weird, its all sorts of off the wall. The art around the walls are rad, the pool table and pinball are good fun, but the bathrooms often smell absolutely horrid. However, the bar staff and security are all top notch; be good to them and theyll be good to you. It really does make for a ridiculously good time that you may or may not remember the next day.

Came to this place on my backpacking trip across Canada.At first, I didnt think this was my crowd, but then it BECAME my crowd - I thoroughly enjoyed it here and was stoked to see others being comfortable enough to sing karaoke, and have a good time!Drinks were reasonable, there was a fish tank with fish at the counter, cool hair dos all around - sweet atmosphere.My friends and I sang, drank and *MAYBE* farted.

Best dive bar karaoke, drink before you come, something just isnt tasty about the beer and wine here. Also prepare yourself for the surrounding areas, tons of homeless drug users laying near the streets.

So far it was my favorite pub at Vancouver, located in Chinatown. Nice beer and good karaoke attraction! All the people there have the attitude to inspire you singing.

Super fun place, takes a long time to get your song so put several papers in the jar.

My friends like it. Personally, Im not a dive bar kind of person, especially a Hastings bar, but I see the appeal of it. Karaoke is lively, most people are friendly and Funkys supports local artists.

Best karaoke bar in the city! Seven nights a week starts at 9:30pm. Great crowd, really loud sound system and a huge selection of songs to pick from. Art displayed on the walls from local artists are available to purchase and they have now added a small food menu!

We had a great Karaoke experience at Funky Winker Beans. The staff were very nice and welcomming, some of them very good singers too!They didnt have a very complete collection (mine was the famous Bruno Mars song). But we managed to have a lot of fun with our friends songs!The bar does not accept credit/debit. Have some cash with you!

Exactly what you would expect from a karaoke dive bar on a weeknight. Pop/dance/best hits go over the best since people are there to dance and NOT AT ALL there to care about your singing ability. Great staff and friendly customers too!!!

A good punk/rock scene bar if youre into that, you dont need to be, but most music is punk rock/metal, the staff is always friendly I have been coming here for a long time on and off. There is no food here, but they arent going to be mad if you bring something in. Drinks are cheap for where you are in town, they have a pretty decent selection of drinks behind bar for custom shots or cocktails and all in all for groups if youre looking for a place after clubbing or just a night out , come here for a pretty chill environment, if you dont mind loud metal music

For a dive bar this place isn’t bad. Came here on a whim to sing karaoke. Decent selection of songs. There are a few talented regulars that are fun to watch. Drinks were not overly expensive.

I love this place so much. Everytime Im in Vancouver I make a point to go here and do up some karaoke! It really is your classic grimy dive bar. Some places sadly try to rip off the atmosphere of bars like this (*cough Warehouse), and usually fail miserably, however this place is legit. Everybody is really into the karaoke, and there is a diverse crowd which would consist of both DTES locals and visitors from other areas of the city. I thought it was amazing that one night when I went even the bouncer was getting in on the karaoke! (just dont ask me who was watching the door during his song because that wasnt clear haha)

Best karaoke in town. Zero pretension, welcoming of everyone dive bar on hastings where you can sing an array of songs or just sit down and enjoy people watching, from someone singing Madonna to someone singing some heavy metal. Drink prices are so so cheap. Get your was to Funkys if you wanna have a good time. The bar staff is super friendly too

My favourite karaoke bar. Karaoke is every night after 9. Massive song selection so long as you like older rock n roll. Looks, feels, & smells like a dive bar. Used to host live music but not recently. First stall (closest to the doorin the womens washroom does not latch. Long wait for karaoke on friday but other days are better. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Its my favorite of the dive bars. The people who work there are rad, great karaoke, art now hanging all over the walls, many interesting characters, and always an interesting story to be told there. On the weekends, now that they dont do shows anymore (booo), some of the regular downtown crowd trickles in, so if you are looking for a good dive bar experience and not a giant wait on karaoke, I wouldnt suggest going then.Oh, and dont go there for a fancy drink, go to get drunk and sing stupid songs with your friends.

Never expected this place to be what it was- but it gave me one of the most memorable and amazing nights of my life. Nothing like a little karaoke and jamming out with Pat (Kronk! 😍Best birthday ever. Cheers!

Great kareoke bar, good selection and good atmoshpere. They also have a good selection of board games to play

I had a great time. The prices are reasonable and the bartender,Remy, was very obliging and courteous, friendly and professional.Heavy metal is not my taste (personal opinion only). So I go earlier and play the juke box which has an excellent selection of music.I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a safe and good time!
