Funguni Palace Hotel in Zanzibar

It is good for the price. It is near a fish market so expectedly it smells a bit like fish. The rooftop breakfast was great and the people that work there are eager to help. The plumbing in the bathroom could use an upgrade.

Nice hotel, clean and friendly staff. Good location near to centre and 10 min walking distance. Breakfast not great with slow service but hotel excellent choice if visiting Stonehouse for a few days

This Staff has no hospitality when you need assistance frim them . If you need friendly and Helpful Staff in the Hotel, this Hotel is not the right choice

Really nice stay on a budget! The service was amazing, we got a lot of help from the reception and especially their offer for different tourist activities (for a good pricewas much appreciated. Did blue safari, spice tour and city tour, and would have loved to try even more if our stay was longer. Wifi, functional breakfast with fruits, tea, juice and eggs, a nice location close to the ferry port, and just a 10-15 minutes walk from Forodhani park and areas around. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a very affordable place to stay in Zanzibar. Especially as we were two young girls who wanted to use more time exploring the city of Stone Town and surroundings rather than sitting in the hotel very much.

If i had to rate it more than 5 stars then it would have been great but anyways the hotel was amazing as well as breakfast yummy😋 with that free view to watch 👍🏼. Thank you Ill be back again.

The staff from front desk to the restaurant were friendly and always ready to help. Housekeeping was excellent. The breakfast was so delicious and value for money

The staff has been wonderful. The rooms are clean, rustic, but the views are great. More affordable than other places near the property. They don’t have a liquor license so it is difficult to find beer by the pool, but there’s locations near by that you can get them from. I would still come back easily in the future.

If there were more stars I could give them all. Funguni Palace Hotel is fantastic in every way. Its the best place to chill and enjoy your vacation. Youll fall in love with Zanzibar Town.

I and my family had an enjoyable stay. the location was good, superb staffs with delicious breakfast. We will definitely visit again. 10/10 highly recommended for all type of trips in Zanzibar city

Clean rooms, great value of money, comfort location and excellent breakfats

Very good hotel not too far from ferry and with reasonable prices . Building in and out looks like it was built or remodelled not long time ago so you can expect many things still like new here. Nice terrace on the rooftop where you can have awesome breakfast at mornings. Highly recommend!

I didnt like the rooms at all. They are too small and feel dingy. But the overall service is OK.

If you need a place close to the ferry for a night this place will suffice but Im sure there are better places nearby.The room was OK at best, the staff were not helpful at all, and Im pretty sure there were bed bugs.

Affordable, nice reception, spent less than $40 for the room, its walking distance from the port, they have activities we went out for boat ride and swimmin at tortoise island, only because of limited time but its worth spending time.

The stay in this hotel wasnt so bad if the old receptionist didnt try to cheat us. I paid 110usd for 3 rooms. After two hours the older receptionist who took money tried to make a trik on changing 100usd banknote from 1960`s on new one, telling me that I gave him the old one and he cant accept it. Watch out for this guy. Rooms were clean and breakfast was ok. Nice view from the roof lunch room.

Excellent customers service, but facilities are not the best, there is however a clear efforts by staff to make it up for whatever the hotel lacks in service, it is a good place if you are travelling on budget

Good location good price, a bit smelly outside from the fish market nearby.

Value for money. Good Wifi. Nice terrace for breakfast.
