I dearly loved this place good old country soul food and every thing it it was delicious!Its to bad they are going out of Business because lack of people working. August 15 2021 .

Catfish, whiting, ribs, Turkey wing (huge), yams, greens, cornbread... all delicious! Seasoned perfectly. Only thing is … mac n cheese is not the same from last October, not as cheesy or tasty.

3 pieces of whiting homemade yams and Mac j cheese LAWWWWWD HAVE MERCY ‼️🤤 everything was tasteful and had flavor🎯💯

Just visited them on July 18th at 1pm and I’m very dissatisfied food tasted so bland and disgusting . For this to be a so called soul food restaurants it’s far from itAs you can see my mashed potatoes was dry as hell look at the picturePlus Mac was cheesy but no taste or seasoningRice and gravy was nasty no seasoningThey salmon patty they cook in a deep fryer they over cooked themMy fiancé got the meatloaf plateMeatloaf was dry as hell not even ketchup on topHis collards had no seasoning and etcWe have are plates to are dogFiancé even thru up after trying a bit off his plate

The food is alright, but CUSTOMER SERVICE is everything something by this place dont have. Whoever the BIG lady is who sits right in front by the cash registers as if she a body guard for the lil cash register is Very Rude and is bad for business. I Will gladly take my money elsewhere.

Everything here was above amazing!!!!Can not recommend a better restaurant... best meal I have had in decades!!!

My name is Wayne and Im from the ATL. Im use to eating good Soul Food and Funderburks did not disappoint me. Actually, it was some of the best food outside of my Mothers kitchen. I had the privilege of eating at the Americas Dr. location. By the way I had the Smothered Pork Chops and the Crispy Fried Chicken. Thanks to the three Angels who took good care of me. ❤

Very nice establishment, very customer oriented. Ive eaten at both and both are worth a return trip🤗

Food is great , but Mac and cheese doesnt taste like it did when they first opened, not that good noodles taste over cooked or something but whiting/flounder fish, yams, is great

A friend suggested this place several months ago, but just got the change to try. The family and I wanted a "home cooked Sunday dinner". Our orders were for the BBQ ribs dinner: meaty tender ribs, fell off the bone, not smothered in sauce. Dinner included two sides: collards -very fresh, not salty, but we added vinegar for our own taste; and sweet potatoes -very tasty, definitely not out the can or smothered in marshmallows, nutmeg, etc; A+. Placed our orders online via the website for curbside pickup. Confirmation email sent and was stated to be ready in 45 min. All was ready on time and all orders were correct. Overall, we enjoyed it and will have to try them again soon. Lots to choose from

Ive given this place so many chances the whole time theyve been in high point, Ive supported them week after week,I had to stop coming because they kept messing up my orders, finally tried them again after 1 year i got the oxtail there was so much fat on them there was no seasoning on the food I had to add my own seasoning, the string beans were still hard with a crunch the but the garlic mash potatoes were good, the portion size was not worth $23, I love supporting my black businesses but I cant with this restaurant anymore

If you are in Greensboro, you have to try this restaurant...the food is amazing! I also the enjoyed the atmosphere and had an opportunity to meet the owner. He and his staff were very friendly! I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Greensboro.

Funderburk’s fine dining experience was amazing!! I had the crab cake appetizer and it was light and delicious. For dinner I had the blackened sea bass, mashed potatoes and sautéed kale. Every thing was perfectly seasoned. My cousin had the oxtail entree and they were so tender and tasty. Very welcoming and friendly staff...and the chef even came out to our table to greet us. Awesome experience—

I Had Roast Chicken Breast White Meat. The chicken was extremely Dry No Season. Gravy and Rice Wasnt Good Fried Okra was the only Thing That was Good. I eat all the World and bar far this is not Real Soul Food.

First time coming here and I must say I was highly impressed..I really recommend this place if you want good soul food...5 stars for me

Delivery option is HORRIBLE and customer service wasn’t much help, manager was rude.I travel for work and really wanted soul food and tried so hard to make this work but it seems as though this establishment almost preferred I DIDNT eat here as they were very short and borderline rude with me over the phone as I tried to figure out their janky delivery service.A 20 dollar minimum for delivery to still get a 1.50 “small order fee”? Another 1.25 “convenience fee” there is nothing convenient about your delivery service. I suggest revising before announcing you deliver. Or at least try to offer some genuine help to those trying to spend money at your establishment. I REALLY wanted to eat here but I’d be doing myself a disservice.

Never Ever AGAIN... I came yesterday to give this place a try got the meatloaf meal i choose sides of mac n cheese and potato salad...The potato salad tasted tart... the Mac n cheese was made with liquid cheese or something because it was very solid i cant really explain it but it wasnt what Im use to... meatloaf was blah... I wont come back.. Customer service was great though

Was passing thru the area and had a taste for soul food. One of the locals recommended them. Due to covid, it eas carry out only. Food was GREAT! Carry out servings were small.

Ordered fried chicken, okra, candied yams, corn bread, pecan pie and sweet tea. Chicken was tasty but bit in the dry side. Okra, yams and corn bread were perfect. Pecan pei was ok. Wish meal came with sauce. Also because of covid it is only curbside pickup. All in spent 12.53 including tax.

Excellent customer service! I called in a takeout order and the food was ready on time. It was hot and delicious. I’ll definitely order again.

Let me tell you.... I just move here from CT and this place... Man this food is sooooooo GOOD. Ive been searching for some soul food and this is by far the best... And the price is not bad... Definitely coming back.... Ok now NC starting to feel like home!!!😊😊

This is by far my favorite restaurant. I usually go 2-3 times a week. The staff makes me feel good because they know my name like Cheers. Its a family own restaurant that treats you like family. The service is the best, and the food is like grandmas, it melts in your mouth. The food is always fresh, everything on the menu is great. The restaurant is very clean, the bathrooms are spotless and fresh. Im so addicted to this one of a kind southern cuisine. I highly recommend everyone to please try this restaurant 😊 you will be dreaming about the food items. Its the Best in town.

Excellent service clean atmosphere with a good southern family feel. The food is amazing freshly cooked hot and always on point. Its slamming love the people here on 68th. Will definitely come back the next time were in the area!!

We were greeted immediately when we walked in. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. I had a catfish dinner and it was amazing and seasoned. Fresh greens and baked mac and cheese. All delicious. I was stuffed and had to get a Togo box. I recommended this place to 3 ppl that day. I will definitely be returning.

From beginning to end not the best place. First and last time here. Lady at register not very helpful. Yams looked like they were straight from the can. Mac and cheese was water logged. Tilapia had no seasoning. Ribs not good. Collards were soso. For instant mashed potatoes they were ok. Lima and corn was okay. Cornbread thick. Dinner rolls hard. Corn nuggets were ok. Service left a lot to be desired.

Food was great. Got the Whiting special with collard green and mac & cheese. Iced tea was bad....very bad. And they forgot the silverware for my to go orders.

I recently moved here from Florida and my family was visiting for Christmas. All they wanted was some good "ole soul food. I read a few reviews and settled on Funderburk. From the food to the service, NO COMPLAINTS. Everything was AMAZING and my family is from South Carolina so we know good cooking. Definitely earned more than five stars. Ill be back for round 2

This place is awesome. True home-style cooking. Service and food were fantastic!

All of the food was hot and steamy for my vegetables and meats. The season on my fish and shrimp were well balance. Its close to my job and lively environment.

Just went there today and I had to write a review. I knew when I saw the paprika on the potato salad I knew it was real(if you know, you know). 5/5 didnt have to put salt or pepper on anything. Definitely going back.

Visited on a Sunday after church. The food was ok. The fried chicken was really good - tender, juicy, and cooked thoroughly. This is important, because, at some restaurants, it looks good, but its not cooked well at the bone. The fried okra could have used a bit more seasoning. The collard greens were flavorful, but had more stems than I like - but this is a personal preference. My issues: the food costs too much to be served on paper plates, with a plastic fork (no knife or spoonand cup. I expect china and silverware - especially for a heavy meal. The young lady who brought the food was super personable, but the young guy who checked on us offered no smile, no pleasantries, no conversation - just asked if we were all right, and walked away. He was much more interested in the football game that was on the TV. My mother ordered water to drink. We were charged 25¢ for it - and it was just basic water in a plastic cup! We werent offered drink refills - but if we had been, Im sure we would have been charged for them. My mother ordered chicken tenders, and there was no dipping sauce (ranch, honey mustard, BBQ, etc.to go with them. Too many issues for me. I wont be going back.

Hands down one of the best soul food restaurants I have tried since being in North Carolina. Everything is fresh, and for the price you get a decent amount of food. Definitely going back.

Great food for a good price. The fish is seasoned to perfection. Mac and cheese and collards tastes like my moms.

It was everything! I had fried shrimp and my sides were cole slaw and fries. It also came with your choice of bread. I got hush puppies and the were really good. The only thing that I would change is to add cheese grits to the menu to go with the fish and the shrimp. The prices were good and the customer service was outstanding!

Funderburks has great food. Only thing is the portions are small for the price you only get one piece of fish on the dinner and its small, when you order an extra piece of fish its a large piece of fish. The food is very good. The small cups of drinks are not worth two dollars. Theres more but you should decide for yourself.

This place is like eating mamas home cookin! Dont tell mama! The mac and cheese, yams, okras, and other sides are stellar. The pork chops, fish, on point! Ive eaten at both locations, both were awesome

Tried it for first time today. Sweet ladies that work there. Great family atmosphere. The food is awesome taste like homemade. Wonderful dishes and got that home feeling to it. Stop by and see these folk. You wont be disappointed.

First taste of soul food as an Indian maybe not my thing

Wow is all that I can say. Great collard greens, amazing fried okra, tasty cornbread, and the fried chicken was crisp and tasty and soooooooo good. Highly recommended, and thank you to Travis for a great place.

I ordered BBQ Chicken (didnt even taste like BBQ Chickenwith sides being Mac & Cheese (excellent side choiceand Collard Greens (a bit bland, if not doctored up with hot sauce, in my opinionand my drink was Iced Tea (super sweet). All of that rang up to $11.74, but overall, the food was good, but the size you get isnt even worth what you paid for.

Visited here for my husbands bday I order the seafood plate and was dissatisfied with the clam strips they were very small and fried too hard and the scallops were very small.The fish however was great.

Not pleased at all, the salmon cakes were very very dry.. It taste like they were fried in burnt oil.The yams were decent..The cabbage was ok...

Food has no flavor. Chicken is unseasoned, macaroni and cheese taste bland, collards were decent, yams are bland.. Food taste like its been sitting and was bearly warm
