Fulin Dim Sum 富臨閣奌心 - Dim sum restaurant in Ipoh, Malaysia
Taste are excellent but service need to improve, find the stuff spend a lot time do the sorting on which dim sum need to go which table.Anyway, a must visit for dim sum if you tired of the tourists dim sum spot, and not in rushing finish up your meal. Not crowded when we visit on the eve of Deepavali morning.
Dim sum is fresh made, reasonable price (a little on the higher end), usually visited by local people than tourist, very chill and you will need to spend some time waiting for the food.
5 stars for the service, unfortunately dim sum tasted just ok. The 3.9 rating now is kind of overrated compare to some other local dim sum places.
A seriously underrated place. The dim sum is so unique to the point that you can feel the chefs personal touch on the food. The dim sum varieties here are not just Har Gow and Seiw Mai. They are actually offering something different from other dim sum stores. I would go so far as to say that Fulin Dim sum is greater than Ming court. Fulin Dim sum is definitely a well kept local secret 🤫.
DimSum near our hotel.
Good dim sum place for locals with reasonable price.NO LONG QUEUE 😉
Enjoyed the taste of the dim sum. Very friendly service, albeit slow. In fairness we were the first in the shop on a Sunday morning. Highly recommended and will definitely go again
Hidden gem. Must try dimsum. The taste is completely different from your typical dimsum even though the variety limited .
When compared to commercialised dimsum, you can get a very different taste here.To keep the dimsum fresh, the business owner will steam it whenever there is an order, so there will be a 30-minute wait, but it will be well worth it as an exchange of delicious taste.
Weekday breakfast while on a short holiday in Ipoh.Heard about this place from online blogs as one of the less-crowded but good dim sum places.Very easy to find parking at 10am. Much more space than in busier parts of town.Seemed quiet with only two tables occupied - but the dining experience was excellent from the moment we sat down. The environment is clean, cool, and comfortable - even the toilets! The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. They introduced the menu to us, highlighting which items were worth a try. Made us very comfortable to ask for help when requiring extra cutlery or adding hot water for tea.Enjoyed the fried taro, glutinous rice, salad shrimp, har gow - and everything else we tried.Price was very agreeable.Probably the best of all the restaurants we visited in Ipoh this time around!
Nice dimsum, i like those pau they sell. Their food are always great!!!
I was staying at the MU hotel and happened to see this dim sum restaurant across the street. As a dim sum lover, i’d say this shop doesn’t disappoint at all. A hidden gem. Ordered the pork, peanut century egg porridge which was yummy, flavorful and the kind of taste I love. The stir fried radish cake with fat bean sprout, lap cheong and the squeeze of calamansi was superb. The flavors of the usual siew mai was nice and comforting with a tinge of mandarin peel. The char Chee cheong fun was not as thin and silky as I would expect it-just ok.The restaurant is bright, airy, staff attentive. Full to the maximum for one person. should bring more people so can share other dim sums :)
They have dim sum which I cant usually order in my hometown. Tasty❤️ Loving their steam cream custard bun with salted egg yolk, they added kaya in it👍🏻 Their steam pork paste balls with salted egg yolk and steam bacon and pork rolls with black pepper sauce also highly recommended.
Ordered Har Gao and seems like they ran out even at 8am as I observed every table still waiting for this same dish. It came last after almost half plus hour later together with my Zhu Cheong Fun (which I ordered the same time), and this is early in the morning without the main crowd yet. I notice that the Har Gao is mixed with a bit of green bits, looks/chew & taste like minced capsicum which makes the whole thing taste a bit greenish. Zhu Cheong Fun is THICK, its the same thickness with my spoon and the thickest Ive seen in my whole life, cant finish this dish since its just a slap of flour with a few shrimp in between. Kok Bou for 2 pax feels too light and on my 2nd water refill, you can hardly taste any tea at all even I only refill half a pot. Worse Ive had in Ipoh and definitely not returning.
A good choice if you come Ipoh during holiday season, we found this less-crowded dimsum place, no queue needed. The price is like other dimsum places in Ipoh, portion is normal, taste is normal.
A pretty good place to get dim sum. Its one of the 3 places that a Grab driver recommended to us. It may not be as famous as some of the others (e.g. Ming Court 明阁), but doesnt mean its bad.Personal highlights:1. 流沙包 (steamed cream custard bun with salted egg yolk)- piping hot 🔥 beware of burned mouths- custard is liquid as it should be and not overly sweet- SPOILER ALERT: theres red bean paste inside 😋2. 虾饺 (Har Kao - steamed prawn dumpling)- fresh, 2 prawns, doesnt look like what youd expect when you think of har kao3. 炸芋角 (crispy fried yam cake with BBQ pork)- the yam exterior is a bit thin for me, but the BBQ pork tastes nice4. 当归卖 ()- prominent/strong herbal taste - never tried this before, so it was interesting for meWe also tried items like the char siew chee cheong fun, stir-fried carrot cake etc, but they were alright, not that great. It pretty empty when we went on a Thursday morning. Staff is nice.
dim sum. The cornerstone of any nutritious and delicious breakfast in Ipoh. Tried Fulin cause I was staying at MU. Tried the big five, fishball, Har kau, siew mai, fong chao, pai kuat, and fried har kwin. All tasted real unique and good. Though the shop was empty of people, I truly enjoyed the pepery and different tasting fong chao, the thin skinned har kau and the rest. Really must try.
The dim sum is fresh and reasonably priced, and not so commercialised, one of the dim sum in Ipoh that worth visit repeatedly
guess there are many good dimsum shops in ipoh, this shop is about average. but if this shop opens in Klang Valley, probably it would be one of the better ones. we ordered quite a lot but didnt take many photos. the skin of the tart was too thick to our liking, the lomaikai has no charsiew or pork fragance. We also ordered one dong kui siewmai which was really good. Worth trying that.
Custard bun are unique, I am from KL and have never seen custard buns made like how this restaurant did. Prices are good too, left feeling full and satisfied with the good breakfast.
Pictures taken after took some pieces of it.Pros:1No waiting. Unlike most of the popular ones, there isnt much of crowd.2Freshly made and few good unique ones.3The price is affordable and portion is decent.4Patient waiters. We complained of the slow service and yet they calmly explained to us that it takes time since its freshly made. So this brings us to...Cons:1Service is slow. Very slow.Even the infamous Siu Mai came last after ordered 45 mins ago. Maybe because its FRESHLY made and will start steaming upon order.2Poor organisation. This has affected service efficiency.
Price wise very worth it because the portions and ingredients are very generous. On a weekday morning there’s ample parking so if you’re in Ipoh for business and want to yumcha and chit chat-this is a good place to consider. Not as noisy as the other two famous ones, and just across the road from Mu Hotel. Staff are friendly, all the dim sum are freshly made to order and kid-friendly too!
I am Dim Sum lover and this place really surprised me. Its not the typical tourist targeted place. They give you a menu and all the price is there already and the portions are really generous. The ingredients is generous too and I already over ate. Will come back everytime I pass through Ipoh.
Food no good.Steam item must be very hot,but when on our table.cold one.not even steam probably.Service is very bad ,dunno due not enough workers.but only got 4table got customer, should be no problem. But wat i see very kelam kabut.I wont come again for this shop again
Taste of dim sum were fine but most of them were not hot enough including the fried carrot cake, it wasnt even warm and the texture was like mudThen I told this to staff ,they were like oh ok and ignored meSame as the cashier girl, when I was trying to give her some feedback about this, she gave no reaction and ignored me 😂I saw some reviews saying its a must to come or affordable price whatever, anyway, I should back to those famous dimsum restaurant next time😂
Love the food here. Very flavourful and authentic. Highly recommended 👍 I was surprised there was no queue during Deepavali. The dimsums were really yummy. I would come again.
This is a place i must go whenever i visit or passby ipoh. For me they serve the best dimsum in the whole of malaysia. I definitely take out bring back alot of dimsum after i dine there. All dishes are delicious. Not to mention that the pricing is cheaper than other dimsum restaurants.
One of the best dim sum servings for breakfast in ipoh, rich in flavours, reasonable price per portion. The dim sum is freshly made from scratch, so it is expected to have abit of wait time. Clean restaurant. Staff are all polite. The only set back is there is limited parking space.Personal note: Not suitable to dine in for breakfast if you are in a hurry.
Not the usual crowded dim sum eatery. Select to order from menu , be prepared to wait. Reasonable variety , different from those in the popular dim sum shop. Family business with minimal worker so service will be slower. A place to eat if you are not in a hurry.
Good dimsum. They have special dimsum at RM10 per dish. The price and food quality is same as other good dimsum restoran. I go there because of small crowd, less noise, good for chatting, lots of parking. For non-Ipoh people, maybe go to a crowded dimsum place is a nice experience. The place is off on Wednesday
Very delicious. Very quiet, not noisy. Each dish is made to order. Except the chee cheong fun isnt up to my palate. But will return for more.
Some hits and misses - I liked the har mai (har gao + siew mai), pork ribs, and the egg tofu, but Im really not a fan of the other dimsum that were drenched in gravy, like the brinjal. And the Cantonese-style chee cheong fun was done really poorly - the skin was way too thick.
Notice this dim sum restaurant near the TCM. So came in and had a try on their dim sum. I must say the food is quite good. Well, except for the salted egg bun, too sweet! The service, the waiter and waitress who served us was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again whenever I go back to Ipoh!
Some dimsum was better than the "branded" restaurant. No need to wait so long. Good service.
Nice dim sum place.. not as expensive as the other two in Ipoh.. less crowded but all dim sum is still very fresh with great taste.
I reckon this dim sum place is better than Fou San.Must try its steamed pork ribs with yam cube, shrimp dumplings, fried bean curb skin with century eggs.
food are not good at allonly friendly staff service is acceptable
Tried out this place last Sunday. Went around 1pm and was surprised the place was not pack. Initially thought might have made a mistake coming here. Went in only a few tables was taken up. Service was good as they immediately attend to you. Dim sum are all freshly made, means they made what you order. Pros and cons, since freshly made there is a longer waiting time unlike other places their dim sum are always in the steamer, however these can be overcook. Dim Sum are nice and fresh. Loh Mai kai was very tasty so much so we ordered another. Steam prawn Chee cheong fun was also nice. All in all, good place to dine at. No people hoovering around you waiting for your table. Will be back since quite annoyed with those packed dim sum shops. This place also nice and clean...
Delicious. A little bit expensive but bigger portion. No crowded so u do not need to wait for the table and enjoy your sweet time there with hurry.
This should be one of Ipohs best Dim Sum place in recent years, the food quality is extrodinary, cleanliness is good and sharp and the staff are amazing. Highly Recommended
Taste good and not so crowded like others
Dim sum with many variations, each of them look and taste different. Steam fresh to serve after selection. I dont quite like dim sum but I really eat a lot today. I enjoy the peace eating in clean and aircon environment.
Friendly staff and reasonably priced dim sum. I think as in most restaurants in Ipoh, you have to bring your own pack of tissues.
Dim sum is freshly cook as per your order.
Nice tidy place with air-con. Not crowded when I visited. The dim sum is sort of nostalgic old school type. Comfy rather than fine and exquisite. Good for casual meal. Don’t remember anything to shout about, no complain either.
Tasty dim sum with friendly staff at a reasonable price 😁
Service is very good. Taste is okay. Lots of varieties. No complimentary tissue, have to purchase. First time experienced a dimsum restaurant without a tissue.
Taste good and many choices for dim sum
Taste good, every dim sum have some vegetables in it. I will try different type of dim sum next visit. 1 thing I am appreciate, not rush to finish, just relax and enjoy the dim sum.
The har gao(shrimpis not bad .. just not so local taste. The char siew pao is not bad.. chee cheong fun is okay quite local. The bacon roll I think its their signature .. not bad.. overall was under expected .
