Fujiya Restaurant - Japanese restaurant in New Delhi, India
Been frequenting for 30 years so was amazed at quality maintained and seeing old staff and peaceful parking etc. Misutaki soup ( 4 personswas the highlight and all dishes delicious.
Went there really late so we could get a table without any waiting (which I am told happens if you go after eight - eight thirty in the evening). Food is good but the overall ambience and service leave a lot to be desired. Washrooms open onto the hall and it can be a little awkward to walk out of them directly into the seating area. Service is quick but staff is kind of curt. Place definitely has an old school vibe going for it (and Im sure a lot of patrons who frequent itbut it needs much more than just that.
Food was raw - both rice and chicken. When complained a quick fix was given which was even worst. On top of that restaurant staff insisting on charging service charge. Terribly disappointed on all fronts
Old memories remain intact,- Good food, portions adequate, ambience same old world feel... Happy to go back every few years
Great tasting dishes with quantity also good. Service was excellent. Greatly recommended for a satisfying experience.
Most dishes savoured were really well made. It was a very satisfying experience indeed.
Good and prompt service. Polite staff. And they have continued to use cloth napkins unlike many other restaurants who have started using paper tissues. So its environmental friendly.
We were die hard patrons if this place- have been having great experience since last 30 years plus at Fujiya. This time we visited after a gap of apporx 30 months due to lock downs etc. However our this visit on 19/09/2012 was a disaster. The restaurant has become exorbitantly expensive. We wouldnt have not felt bad if the food quality would have been as it had been for decades. To our most relevant disappointment the food was absolutely tasteless. Seems as if they have completely lost it. Even a road side takeaway Chinese eatery would serve better dishes than Fuijiya of Today.Highly disappointed especially since we were there with the whole family to celebrate my 50th Birthday and had to be at a place to feel a bit nostalgic too.
This place is done ! . . . If you wish to visit this place for nostalgia of those years when it use to serve good oriental food, then do so.Otherwise, as far as food is considered . . . Junk It !Overtly priced, be careful on ordering liquor you may be charged for Absolut and Served Romonov.
First of all, a long queue of waiting, and no bookings of phone...u have to go there and wait physically.Secondly, the ambience was good as they created a picture of some non Indian cuisine but too small a place for a large crowd..hence a bit noisy but tolerable noisy...Thirdly, the food, it did give us the actual authentic taste which otherwise is altered with Indian touch inthe other restaurants unlike here and the service was pretty quick...we didnt have to wait much for our food...Fourthly, the staff was very polite and courteous.Would recommend and visit again some time.
Highly overrated.keeping tables of 2 to 4 for business.too few tables for more than 5. Waiting period of > 30 minutes with no facilities for customers is not acceptable. food is just average and nothing to wait fo.Once you are in they will pile up the starters and hover around for u place the order for main course so can get more people in . mybe is different on weekdays
The Food was pathetic, staff was also not good , costly food . Not expected this.I would say no need to waste your time and money here...
Chinese is worth trying and the restaurant is living up to its reputation...the sushi did not come out well
An elegant place for food particularly Chinese food, I am visiting this place since 25 years.
I ordered wonton soup that was fine sushi platter that was ok not worth 1600 yum cha cha is far better if u actually love sushi in fujiya bet me u will start hating it , i also ordered pan fried non veg noodles a recommended item by waiter tht was worst boiled noodles with badly chopped veggies i ever had cabbage on whole noddles one should name it as cabbage noodles i dint ordered nything sweet as i was already disappointed i think i saved some money on tht ..Not worth spending
Overcrowded & overhyped. The chef rustled up something tasteless & barely edible. Service was OK. Had taken my wife on her birthday. Thoroughly spoilt her mood.
The place is okay-ish and raving reviews which I read about its food fell flat. I went there today and my friend wanted to try sushi and the server told us I dont eat it, it raw and who eats sushi l was surprised or maybe they know the sushi sucks that they serve.
Honestly I went here after 5-6 years yesterday. I used to go here a lot as akid after school with my mother. The quality of the food was very bad. Everything seemed like it was frozen as they got the food fast. It wasnโt tasty at all and we had to pack all of it because we just couldnโt enjoy it. I told the server but he also seemed helpless and said Iโll change the spring roll! However even at home it tasted even worse. I hope they get the original 1990โs Fujiya back!!
Most horrible and most hyped restaurantJust encashing itโs old nameNo professionalism in service very casual approach and food quality also very poorRates are also very highThe only restaurant which is charging 25% vat on liquor which seems very abnormal
Service is fast, but the food quality is just ok. The recommended dishes were nothing to talk about. Overall an old world restaurant...
Absolutely disgusting Lotus stem, chicken dimsum, hakka noodles, honkong chicken, everything was so bad infact the next table i was sitting to got three cockroach in their food that was horrifying i went there after 4 years as it use to be the best Chinese restaurant back then but now I am highly disappeared and never ever going back again
I have been going to Fujiya for close to 20 years. The food has been consistently good and service also has the old world charm. Best part is despite having an upmarket clientele, the prices are reasonable and the helpings rather good. Would love to visit again.
Chinese authentic food. Taste is awesome and quantity is sufficient.
After a friend recommended it, I went there with high hopes only to realize that its an overhyped restaurant thats running on nostalgia. A lot of local people used to eat there during the 70s, and 80s when Chinese (and Japanesecuisine were not that famous probably in India; so below average food also tasted good probably. So these people are now the elderly who still visit this restaurant due to the nostalgic attachment and their kids and grandkids and their family tag along because they want to see their grandparents happy.I ordered prawn tempura sushi and mixed meat Schezwan rice.Sushi: one ๐ because of the super strong Wasabi. That was good. Rest of the sushi is forgettable. And obviously not worth the eleven hundred price tag.Mixed meat schezwan rice: zero stars because it tasted like normal fried rice with very little meat, shrimps etc with light tangy Manchurian gravy on the top of it. It felt weird. So overall, one ๐ because of the wasabi. If you want to have super strong wasabi, you can visit. Else avoid.
Good old school vibe and foodThe service was a bit slow but the food makes up for itThe mocktails tasted too artificial and can be improved. To get a table easily be there before 1945, else you would have to wait for minimum an hour.
Most pathetic sushi I have ever had in my life! The outer shell was super hard and the inner filling didnt have any flavour! Not recommended at all!!!
First things first- waiting. Thats primarily because its an old family restaurant with lots of nostalgia associated. Unfortunately its purely riding on legacy & nothing else. Literally nothing. Only two chairs outside the restaurant when they have ample space to make for arrangements, families & elderly sitting near the footpath doesnt go well with its legacy. Ive been invited multiple times here since friends who visit Delhi wish to be here once (tick mark on their checklist). If thats the case, a one time visit is fine but, if you wish to savour food, there are plenty of better options in the capital. The Manager, a Nepali gentleman by the name Inder is always rude. The staff is also old fashioned & care little for customer experience & service. During my last visit, I had a hair in my meal which I showed the gentleman serving us & he bluntly refused it was body hair. He offered to exchange American Choupsey with Hakka Noodles & brought it within 2-3 minutes (was already prepared). I gave this entire feedback to the Manager that the food quality & service of Fujiya has deteriorated. Forget an apology or a courteous expression to do better the next time, he bluntly refused nothing wrong even happened.Looks like owner(sdont care since the name is still earning business while the staff behaves like owners. The good old Fujiya is gone.If you still have an appetite after seeing it all- Do have their steamboat/chimney soup for its uniqueness.
I go there only because of my Dad and his nostalgia. How he used to go there in the 70s with his parents. Quite frankly, the food we ordered today was pretty underwhelming. I ordered the number 226 dish on the menu (stir fried vegetables in thai sauce). It was doused in Fish Sauce + Salt. The serve was sweet he took it back to get it fixed. It came back with more vegetables in it, but still salty. Fish sauce is high in sodium + adding salt to a dish with so much fish sauce is a sodium bomb. Anyways, my Dad was happy with his orange coloured American Chop Suey. Id still go back because its special for my Dad. Its more out of respect for him. Not my go to place.
Good soups but it was not cool to give paneer roll when we ordered for cheese roll. It was disappointing. Never coming back again.
Except for the sushi, nothing is good. The drinks are horrible and hot chocolate fudge apparently only includes a cube of vanilla icecream and Hersheys syrup! When asked by the waiter or the manager to fix the food, they force you to finish what has been served.
It was crowded, so thats usually a good sign. The staff is attentive and the food is pretty good. Ill definitely go back to try some other dishes, but what we had was good.
If you looking for authentic Chinese and Japanese food in Delhi ...must try FUJIYA . ambience is also good.
Guys itโs a flawless restaurant!!Great service, great foodDonโt skip trying their date pancakes & stir fry greens & soupsActually all their dishes are out of the world
I had the chicken with almonds and egg fried rice which is my safe go-to meal at any Chinese restaurant, and it was good. The portion is too big for me but thats just my case, so I brought the leftovers home (very well packed). I also had the plain chocolate brownie (theres also with ice creamand let me tell you: AMAZING brownie, 10/10 recommend! It compeetes with Amours brownie (next door). I fell in love with a piece of cake! ๐The decoration is nice and the restaurant is pretty cosy. The only downer for me is that the employees are a bit weird standing too close and staring. If I need Ill call, why stand so close and stare so much? ๐ฅฒ๐๐ Besides that, totally recommend if youre craving asian food!
Asian food at its best lebrated my birthday at Fujiya ! My favorite food and perfect oriental ambience
Been going there since 1990.... Excellent, authentic Chinese and Japanese food..... Very courteous staff.... Almost the same ones.... Not many leave their jobs.... Goes on to say a lot about the management as well. They all have seen my kids grow up. Must go place for excellent food and experience.
Good Chinese food snacks everything I always go there tasty food nice place with family, friends veg.manchow soup, fried wonton,veg.noodlea,veg.with black bean
Gosh. Such a disappointment. Lotus stem honey chilli was too sweet and had zero worth in terms of a reputed dish at Fujia. Same dish at Bercos is oh so yummy ! Lamb shredded chilly dry was decent but again not worth the price and onenxan have better at Bercos. The biggest disappointment was the fried Wonton. Damn the oil tasted bad and the wonton tasted like oil. Somehow ate just the chicken part !Overall disappointing. Not worth it.
Delicious japanese foodEasy access to all embassiesGood placeFollow all safety guidelinesJapanese flavors
Fujiya still remains one of Delhis best Chinese/Japanese restaurants with good food and great service....
Ive been coming to this restaurant for a few years now as its quite close to my house. But,Now I have stopped coming here specially after my recent visit due to the following reasons:1. The ambience is quite bad2. The indoor lightning and furniture is so dated that it looks from pre independence time.3. The utensils used here are so old.4. They COVID measures being take by them dont seem upto the mark.5. FOOD- the taste isnt good at all anymore6. FOOD- the oil used by them doesnt seem to be very high quality7. FOOD- overall too average, I prefer Bercos food over these guys any day of the year.8. Service- Dull and average again.9. Pricing- Much higher than Bercos but service, food and ambience all below the mark of Bercos.10. The only big plus point is location and parking. So overall its a very below average to average experience.Uploading some photos of the indoors outdoors food and invoice.๐๐ฒ๐ฃ
A Chinese Thai restaurant in the diplomatic enclave in Chanakyapuri. A la malcha marg pan asian cuisine restaurant. Easy parking and facile accessibility . May not be for wheel chair bounds though. The interiors are subtle and lighting soothing. There are cosy corners too. The menu spread is lavish , but the flavour may not be really exciting for the connoisseur to drool over. We had Hakka noodles, chicken Hong Kong style, Cantonese chicken . The taste was average . The pricing is standard as us true of all such in Malcha. However, my bet is keep it as ones third or fourth choice (as far as Pan Asianfood is concerned .
If you ever wish to eat authentic chinese food then this is the place you must visit.I have become fan of this place in my first visit itself.I ordered chicken manchow soup, chili garlic noodles, chicken hongkongn and American chopsy and all of them tasted too good. It had right amount of spices and with good quantity. The prices are also reasonable. For ambience i would give 3.5 as the seating is lil small as compared to other restaurants. The overall hospitality and service is a plus point๐๐ปDo visit to taste authentic chinese food
Good Asian fare. Old school vibe at this restaurant that reminds me of dinners out with the family when I was a kid. Good food and great service.
Good old taste and memories. One if the authentic Chinese and Japanese restaurants in Delhi.I visited this place 15 years back for the first time and became an instant fan.During my visit yโday i enjoyed delicious Chinese and Japanese cuisine. We ordered Yagi Gyoza (non veg(fried Japanese dumplings), Kung Pao chicken, Fujiya special non veg noodles, Virgin Mary and fruit beer. The food was simply brilliant. My personal favourite was Fujiya specials noodles. The other two items were no less. It was an absolute delight eat here.I already know what to order when I visit this place next time (veg fried rice and Kung Pao chicken ๐)Cost for two - Rs 2000 to 2500Worth every penny spent. A must visit place.
This is one of the best places for Japanese food in town! The location and ambience of Fujiya are spot on. The restaurant is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, so they have really evolved however the quality of food remains the same. Their mocktails, starters and soups are great! Service is good and staff courteous. Overall, its a good experience and one which is highly recommended!
Since 1969 as it says and i am seeing since 1999, as fondly as i remember it to be the same. One of the places which have remain the same and have not changed a bit.The only change would be the staff but rest in terms of majority of the menu, the taste and decor is still the same. One of the finest fine dinning Chinese and Japanese restaurant .Had vegetable soup with dumplings and fried corn. Soup was great and corn were just fried as much as it was needed. My ever favourite american choupsey still tastes the same. The fried rice or Hakka noodles will still give you the authentic Chinese taste. The food is always excellent, service was prompt and as always you remember the older days.I forgot to take pics as i got bit more into my older memories and by the time i realised my lunch was over.
Repeated visit.. been coming here for many years.First positives - open all day so can walk in anytime. Food variety is reasonable and taste above average. Need to tell them to keep the spices low otherwise one can be burning his tongue..!!Negatives - the serving team looks completely fatigued out.. no smile, no welcome feeling.. walking like straight face and at their own pace...One of the oldest place in this area and had lots of loyal customers..
Amongst the oldest and the best places to have Chinese food in delhi.Going to this place will make you feel like you are in China only as the complete interior of the place is designed in a very authentic way.No matter whatever dish you order, it will be great in taste..The restaurant also serves great Thai food as well. They can customize the dishes as per your special requests as well. The staff is also very polite, nice and friendly with kids..
1. Tasty food2. Authentic Japanese and Chinese food with variety of menu options3. Well mannered and polite staff, I place my handbag in floor like usually I do and they came fast with bag hook and place it nicely4. Food quantity is big, so sharing is better. Its worth with every single rupees we spend
