FugaCidade in Funchal

Really cool place, great service and beers were good too, lots of choice on draught and lots of interesting cans in the fridge.

Seems to be really the only source of craft beer in Madeira. Good selection of cans and NE Hazys.

We did a Google search for local craft beer and this place was recommended. We spent a pleasant hour or so sampling a couple of IPA’s, a Sour and a very nice double. The hostess was great, really into her local craft beers. The selection was brilliant, there will definitely be something on the menu that you will enjoy. Little salted snacks were welcomed although I’m not sure about the pickled pea’s, my wife loved them though. A smashing little find, we will be back before we leave the island.

Great bar, friendly service. Flight boards are great in that you can select the beers you want to taste they are not pre selected like other bars.

Bartender is really keen to share his knowledge and give some advice. Best sidra in Madera so far. Best bar weve made so far.

Some great draft beers staff super friendly and knowledge, only tried 3, all the top % ,very drinkable, prices about right , lots of bottles in fridge no complaints, a go to craft beer shop &bar

Superb craft beer bar in the centre of Funchal. Great selection of draft and bottled portugese craft beer, and as a bonus, a huge selection of Omnipollo beers in cans and bottles. Including some stunning Biancas. The couple running it couldnt have been more welcoming or friendly. If we could have stayed longer to come back again we would have.

This place is a must have for everyone visiting the beautiful island of Madeira. The great selection of Portuguese craft beer is topped only by the amazing staff, leading with the dear dear owners. Already at our first visit they made us feel so welcome, that by the second visit we felt were coming home. Be prepared however, if you step in, it wont be easy leaving this place. Not at least until youve tried the whole beer menu :DThank you for the lovely couple for being so kind and welcoming. Fugacidade is, as its name says, great little place to escape the citys rush and quench your thirst! I will definitely return on my next visit!

One of the few places on the island where you actually could find good craft beer! The draft selection was pretty good and they offered several options on bottle or can, as well. Very friendly staff and very competitive pricing, especially considering the free snacks that accompanied the beer.

An amazing little bar nestled away in a side street. The best beers in Funchal and run by lovely people who have a passion for good beer. You will not be disappointed if good beer and a pleasant vibe is your thing. Can’t wait to go back.

Great craft beer bar in Funchal! Been a handful of times already. Rotating tap with a good selection of Portuguese beers. Also have an extensive bottle selection. Friendly, very knowledgeable bartender/owner. Definitely worth stopping by for a few.

The beer scene feels quite new in Madeira. This place though had some interesting beers from Portugal on tap with good imperial stouts as well . Didnt try their selection of cans and bottles. Service was good

Nice little craft beer bar. Friendly staff and good range of beer. Got wee samples to try before buying which meant I got something I liked. Recommended and would go back. Very reasonable for the beer esp compared to UK prices.

Excellent beers, tasty authentic tapas and such a friendly welcome. Highly recommended. Kitchen hours are Monday to Friday 0900 to 1430 and 1800 to 2130. Three dishes on offer that rotate.

Fantastic little bar with a wide selection of craft beers from Portugal. Super friendly staff with a clear love for craft beers (and castles). If you are in Funchal you should definitely visit this bar. If you guys ever visit Scotland Ill show you round some castles!

What a find! Transformed my week’s holiday in Funchal. Never realised you could get this range and quality of IPAs, NEIPAs, etc, beyond the UK - clearly I need to look harder in future. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the best beers I’ve tasted outside West Yorkshire. Currently on our third visit and will be back again.

The best craft beer bar in Madeira? Certainly the best we found. Sampled the Passionfruit IPA and Raspberry Sour so far and both lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Eight drafts and lots of bottles. All great examples of the Portuguese craft beer scene. Will be back for more later! Edit: been back for more great beers. To add a further positive, both times we’ve been here they’ve been playing a chilled 80s mix.

Didnt find a better beer bar in 5 days in Madeira. Staff polite and helpful, good value and high quality beers with changing selections. Their snacks were great too - ask for the extra spicy chilli oil to accompany them

They have the best caft beers from Portugal. The stuff (owneris very friendly and helpful. I was really enjoying at this place.

Best place in town for craft beer. Snacks and meals are also available until 9PM. The friendliest staff youll find and pleasant atmosphere. Duarte Chaves is a great entrepreneur and he will be looking forward to share his passion for craft beer. Dont like beer at all? Youll also find a great selection of wine!

Good craft beer well worth visiting. Enthusiastic staff who want to talk beer. Selections from pale ale right the way through to imperial stouts and porters. Dont miss out on a good craft beer venue.

Very friendly bar with great selection of Portuguese Craft Beers & great wines too. The Red Zeppelin Beer was lovely and my wife recommends the Amnesia red wine. During the week a simple but good and healthy home made food menu is available with dishes of the day. Duarte & his wife are charming owners who are very ‘hands on’ providing a great service. The ceiling high map of the world enables holiday planning whilst savouring the food & drinks.

Very nice restaurant! Delicious food, very nice people. Also a good choice for vegetarians. If you like craft beer you will find some here as well. Absolute recommendation!
