6245 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028, United States, Hollywood
Photos of movie stars deck the walls at this historic, no-frills bar, famous for its jukebox.
We had a blast! Great spot with history, cocktails and vibes.
Not too great. They should bulldoze the entire city down. A really disgusting place.
Mythical. Fair prices.
Hard to enjoy the bar when its so crowded and you cant find a place to sit down, but maybe on less crowded days its better
Cheap, good music and nice staff.Would go again
Great find. Stumbled upon it while strolling Hollywood Blvd.
Having seen this place on several TV shows, including Bosch, it was exactly as I expected it to be.Great little dive bar in Hollywood.2 thumbs 👍Highly recommended
Old Hollywood dive with a GREAT bartender next to the Pantages Theatre.
Drinks only. Meet staff and cast after the pantages shows. The best and fastest bartenders Ive ever seen. Ever.
Great drink and awesome bartender. A good spot to get drinks before heading over to see a show nextdoor.
A classic Hollywood bar. It’s small and dark just the way I like it. Had the best time with great company. 🤘🏼
Friendly people awesome bartender, and dog friendly.
My friend and I bounced in here after seeing a gig at the Pantages theater. Its a great little snug, they had a decent few beers on tap, my Guinness in a can,and cocktails galore. Its a tiny joint, but everyone, staff and patrons, were top class. Ill jump in again if I have a chance.
An ideal bar. Classic vibe, great drinks for the price, super friendly bartenders.
small bar but my friend and i liked the vibes. good music. 3 televisions. there was only 1 bartender when my friend and i went but he was great. not a super long wait. the tequila shot was HUGE. decent prices. would definitely recommend and will come back soon!
Straight up one of the most legendary bar in Hollywood. Come have a drink and play some hotspot
This is truly a hidden gem and I was invited to here. It’s good to have friends, and this place has quite the history. It lingers but in a great way.. cheers friends
Just finding out how to leave reviews 🙈 I drank in here in 2016, atmosphere was my kind of place, pint of budweiser was $1.80 (probably changed nowbar girl was really nice and chatty, didnt expect tips (but left 1 on exitdefinitely recommend, LA locals call it an institution 👍🏼 thankfully found it after paying 10 bucks for a vodka 4 places upMark, Glasgow, Scotland
Great speakeasy bar and this was a great place for my boyfriend because he loves to drink whiskey. It was a very diverse bar which Im not really used to, but it was very entertaining and I will be back for sure.
Went in at intermission o Hamlet! Bartender was super nice and took great care of usThe gentleman at door was outstanding!!! Made sure me and my girlfriend got into our uber and was just so sweet !❤We will be back
This was a happening joint for a reunion party. The staff was professional and courteous. My friends and I sampled a few wines and a few appetizers. The cost is to expected for the establishment, its a more glamorous type with the lighting and space. The reason I took off one star was some of the staff personnel werent as kind to a good friend of mine. Not sure if they were being catty or just had a bad day? Who knows. Its just a few people. Will definitely come back for another party!
The service and the ambiance was great, the flights were all well selected and well balanced. Our server was very knowledgeable and conversant about all the wine available.Pricey, yes, but worth it for sure. The plates are small but pack a flavorful punch. The setup is more ideal for groups ordering multiple plates and sharing food and sips (not for getting full). Our group all loved the 2010 Vittoria Frappato, Valle Dellacate (we each ended up ordering a full glass).
Great Hollywood haunt. An original venue that dates back to the 60s or older. Excellent bartenders!🍻
Iconic place right on Hollywood Blvd.! Stop on by for a drink or two, and stay for the ambiance! Cheers!
We had a drink and kept on moving. I was likely too sober to appreciate the vibe, as it was early in the evening.
stopped by and had a drink before a concert and id highly recommend. Bartendee was super cool and old school, knew your name right off the bat. Drink prices werent the worst either.
Great little dive next to the Pantages. Needed to show vax card for entrance, which I appreciated. Great service, strong drinks, and friendly company.
Honestly one my favorite bars I’ve been to, the staff were so cool and the bar had great energy!
Love this place!
Bar away from home! Back to my old stomping grounds.Been coming here For a long time.the bartenders always so cool and at home we spent half the day here drinking so much fun!Piece of Hollywood history
No frills local bar. Friendly bartender. Enjoyed choosing music on the jukebox, perfect place to pre-party before beading out to the pricey Hollywood bars.
A must spot in your Hollywood travel itinerary! Cool awesome atmosphere with fast turnaround of orders, pretty amazing drink selection for cheap. Drop by this dive bar and chill!!
Cool bar on the Hollywood strip! Pretty small but still has a good amount of seating. Very cool vine and cool lighting for the atmosphere. Bartender was super friendly and took your order quickly.
This is a cool little dive bar. The bartender is really nice and the drinks are good. Right in the heart of Hollywood. Love the lights on the ceiling.
Bar away from home! Been coming here since 2003 and its the first bar we hit everytime we go to Hollywood ...luv the bartender always so nice and make u feel at home we spent half the day here casue drink are great and cheap!! Never go to Hollywood and not stop here ! Its historical!!!
Oh Frolic Room, where to begin. This place is a Hollywood institution, a beautiful cave of wonders tucked into the space just next to the historic pantages theater. Rumor has it that actors from next door would come here before and after the show for a quick drink.Speaking of drinks, theyre pretty spot on. Reasonably priced for the area, and the bartenders are not only great at mixing drinks but recognize locals too. The only gripe I have about this place is that its quite small and gets loud at night and on weekends. Definitely a must see for any tourist in Hollywood, and worth a visit for locals too.
Best bar to just drink and chill. Ruben was amazing at making cocktails. Definitely a must try place. Will be back again soon.
I found this place years ago when I was visiting my friend. Once you find this place, you dont want to drink anywhere else. I had Pliny the Younger! I happened to have been there last week during Los Angeles, CA beer festival week. I also had my share of other beers.Frolic Room
Old school DTLA bar. Tarrik is a wonderful host. Dont let the outside dissuade you from venturing in.
Friendly staff and a lot of colorful characters hanging around. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn’t too busy. Started filling up as it got later. Good tunes playing on the fancy juke box. This unique bar is worth a visit!
This bar is so much fun. Eclectic with a mix of all sorts. The staff is friendly.
I had a great night and staff was nice. Prices are really cheap and it has a nice chill and friendly vibe. I also spent some time talking with the big guy at the door, he was really cool, so was the bartender.I returned the next day and inexplicably they kicked me and a friend out after 30 seconds. I didnt get to order a drink or even say a word. The place wasnt even crowded. Of course, they never explained why they did that. Lame. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasnt for that violent and irrational moment.
The frolic room is the best dive Bar in all of Los Angeles. I highly recommend it to anybody thats coming into town. Id give it six stars if I could, have a great time! Cheap... great drinks!!!
Still my favorite dive bar with odd characters. Cheap drinks and sometimes tough to get a drink when crowded. Love the jiffy pop popcorn. Also, great place for a cheap intermission drink and a pee when attending a show at the Pantages.
This is one of my favorite place in the city. Cocktails are always perfect and you can always trust the bar tender for something special. Additionally the list of scotch and brandy should keep you busy for the years to come. So food, you ask, is amazing. Small plates using fresh and in season ingredient. The dishes are well thought with always a great technique and an interesting construction of texture and flavor. They recently introduced a prix fixe menu that this like a good options but I have been there only once since they introduce it. Finally the menu change quiet often so I recommend coming back regularly if you can.
Did not know of this bar, though its been there since 1939...its a fun, clean "dive" with relatively cheap drinks (especially for the real estate). Super easy to grab a beverage before heading to the Pantages. Definitely going back!
Love this local and historic dive bar with fabulous cocktails. You can watch the clientele change when the theater next door opens. Time capsule of old Hollywood.
Needed a place to chill while waiting for my wife. The bartender Abby was nothing less than delightful. Great place to relax and have a drink. You should be aware it is next to the pantages theater so it gets crowded during intermission.
I love this bar so I couldnt rate it poorly. However I just tried to go in for a drink and the bouncer, who initially let me in, grabbed me and said I was too intoxicated before I ordered a drink. I am just starting my night I havent had even a sip to drink. I didnt want to be combative so I wandered down to 33 taps where I was promptly let in. Disappointed I wasnt able to stop by my favorite Hollywood bar while I was in the neighborhood. I know its the bouncers job to ensure the safety of patrons, but this wasnt justified in any way.
Finally checked out the Frolic room with some friends last week. It is exactly what you would expect, a dark Hollywood dive bar. The staff was friendly and the drinks were cheap, as long as you ordered house liquor, the name brands jumped up a few dollars. Still compared to most Hollywood bars it was much cheaper. The decor is fun and retro and makes you feel like you are going back in time a few years. Great place to grab a drink before or after a show at the Pantages.
