Fritangas Mexican Restaurant - Restaurant in Pueblo, United States
This place is really cute and appears authentic with all of the decor BUT if you are looking for street tacos this is not where you will get good ones. The tortillas are like Mission Food Tortillas that were slightly warmed up. The Asada meat was cut into huge chunks that were chewy and the only salsa available is a red chunky one that almost reminds me of Pace Picante Salsa. When you try to eat them the cold tortilla breaks and u literally have a salad of meat, salsa and soggy tortilla pieces. Yumm -__-Oh also when i said i didnt like them they still tried to charge me. Not cool Fritangas. I was really rooting for them too.
Prices are average but the food is better than the more expensive alternatives in my honest opinion. I love the fact that breakfast is served all day. I recommend any of the skillets!
I order a Vuelve a la vida cocktail in the menu said SHRIMP, OCTOPUS, SCALLOPS AND AVULON and they put oyster on it, and i asked before ordering if they put oysters, just to make sure because i dont like oysters, then i receive my order and IT HAS OYSTERS ON IT so i didnt eat it and i let the waitress know, they didnt do anything about it, and i got charged for the entire order which feels bad for something that i didnt eat because it has something that i ask NOT to have
Grossly overpriced. Ordered soup mostly got broth and the chicken tasted reheated and old. Pueblo has far better for a quarter of the price.
This place is lousy. Lousy lousy the tasteless water down salsa and cheap tasting green chili and the food is nasty they should do Pueblo a favor and close. Close close Close the name is stupid. And nobody never there. Open youre eyes owner and close you are the trashy. Mexican lousy food I ever seen in Pueblo. Stinks. e
This place is like Pueblos best kept secret. We have never had a bad meal here, and we go pretty often. Service is always friendly and the food is always fresh and hot. Best queso Ive ever had. Their menu is enormous with something for everyone including several vegetarian meals.
DONT BUY DRINKS - sad that I have to update my stellar review from years ago but other be warned. My wife and I frequent this place often but something recently shifted. Their prices changed for drinks. Top shelf double margeritas now cost an absurd amount . I was charged $18 per margerita since I had an extra shot vs the $12 is used to cost. Also their food prices on the menu are incorrect. We ordered meneudo and pesoli which a large is $10 on the menu and a regular is 7. We just ordered regular but were served a large and we were charged $13 and the server Monica just brushed it off and said the prices were changing but just weren’t reflecting in the menu (false advertising). They also automatically charge gratuity for 18% which we always tip 15-20% but now they take that your options away too. Our server did bare minimum and overcharged us. Drinks were left empty and not checked up on. We were shocked to see they were dead on a Saturday at 6PM but it made sense when we got the bill and saw the service. Make sure to ask prices since their menus are off. This places new rating is:1 out of 5 pans of hot dog water- would recommend against.
Street tacos were good. My husband got the mole chicken and enjoyed it. Rice needed salt and beans were ok. Our favorite was dessert. We got the churros and they were soooo good. Service was slow so if youre in a hurry this is not the place to stop. Salsa was good also
I will NEVER go to this place again! My family and I ordered meals to go, so we could eat at home. We live some distance away, so we couldnt go back. They screwed our order horribly! My daughter ordered the carne asada with shrimp plate. She got NO shrimp! Her father ordered enchiladas de mole and they didnt give him the sauces and he said it wasnt very good. And they left my meal out altogether!!! Then when we tried to call... They never answered!!!
Excellent Pina colada. The Chile rellenos were lazy, flavorless, and did not appear fresh on Thursday night. Do not roll a Chile in egg roll wrapper and call it crispy. The cheese inside was uncooked. I am absolutely disappointed. Very friendly waitstaff.
Fritangas is one of my all time favorite restaurant to go to in Pueblo while visiting. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. We had a large group of people, some who have never tried Fritangas, they enjoyed it. If you havent tried this restaurant youre missing out.
A different taste for Mexican food, but the chips and salsa really are not that good how do you mess that up ? The Tortilla chips have a very strange taste as if the not corn tortilla im not sure ? The mask on the Tamalis was very mushy as if not cooked all the way and the was no spice to them.
Ordered breakfast special and the sausages are huge and tasty, eggs were cooked perfect! Over all Great food n atmosphere!
Went for a Sunday dinner with my family of 4, 2 kids. Food was good and the fact that my husband had worked on their alarm before and he saw their kitchen was clean is a plus. Prices are reasonable, we will be back to try other stuff on their menu. It was also conveniently located close to the mall.
Love this place. Great service and you will never walk away hungry. Love the food here.
Not bad but not anything to exciting either. Spicy green chili had no heat to it. Chicharrones were strangely sprinkled on top of the burrito like a garnish (why not put it in the burrito?). Cheese in enchilada was not quite melted all they way. Service was attentive and quick.
So I went in and I was waiting for a table and then they tried to seat the people that came in after us and then we got seated and the people who came in after us got there food and drinks and we dont even have are food or drinks and the sad thing is that we always went over there and told a lot of people how good they are but not any more we will share how good they are
Delicious! Straight outta Mexico City! Great service, good atmosphere
It was great. Great service and really cool atmosphere! Go check them out 4sure.
Ordered through DoorDash, 2 Tortas Al Pastor, instead we received 2 pig feet tostadas. Called and they said I can come pick up the correct order. Obviously ordered delivery for a reason and now have no time to reorder anything else so they definitely ruined the whole experience for me. Will never go back and never recommend this place. Such an easy thing to mess up so terribly
Great food and nice atmosphere to eat!
This place is pretty good. Weve been here a few times and I can say that its becoming one of my favorite restaurant. The food has been great so far
The food is good but make sure they do not make a mistake on your order because they will not make it right. I placed an order for 50.00 they left an item out and when I called them they chose to argue with me, tell me they would not do anything to make it right because they had put a different item in the bag that I did not order but was of the same price there for I was compensated. Then they hung up on me.
Went here for a holiday. Waited an hour for drinks and first Waitress did not remember my companies drink order. Second shift Waitress didnt even know our drink order since the first girl did not relay message. Waited another hour for food. One of my guest didnt receive her order until all of us were almost dont eating. Food was blah and no flavoring. We had gotten menudo, had no spice to it. Guest had gotten chorizo breakfast had absolutely no heat to it and wasnt tasteful. The guests who had gotten eggs refused to eat it. Just a very bad experience in general. Will never return.
Old Mexico like near the mall in Pueblo. Fast but at least you Mexican food large selection of cold drinks. Upon leaving there was an odd odor right as I open the door on the the bankside the restaurant. Something that should be checked out. Otherwise with the life will treat will be back food was fresh Hasting of well-prepared.
This is a great mexican restaurant with great service. Eat here about 2-3 times a month and never had any issues. The dining room is very clean and tastefully decorated. The outside is a little run down but looks like they are in the middle of repairs. All in all would say this is the most authentic mexican food in pueblo.
The wife and me had lunch at Fritangas Mexican restaurant today and I have to say its not bad at all. The food was flavorful and the portions were big enough to fill you up. I will definitely go back.
The food was disgusting. First off, the Diet Cokes did not taste right, almost like they were watered down. My boyfriends moms food wasnt even hot! It was cold, the rice was dry, the beans didnt taste right either. The only thing that was good was the chips and salsa. Never going back
We hade the Chile relleno which was prepared my favorite way, in a crispy tortilla, it was super but I did not particularly care for the Anaheim chili that was used, but still very good. My better half had the carnitas chimichanga and WOW!! It was delicious! We thought why not top dinner off with fried icecream. It was huge and would comfortably serve 3 or 4 people. It was outstounding as well. I would have preferred plain vanilla icecream, this icecream had peanut butter cups. It was still very good!! The prices were very reasonable. We will be returning its our now go to for chimichangas the best we have had in pueblo or Colorado springs!
The atmosphere is great. The service is always friendly a but bit slow. It’s never a good sign when your drink stays dry in an empty restaurant that’s always over-staffed. The food is decent but for the price it just doesn’t meet the flavor test or the portion test. It’s certainly not going to become one of the big names in Pueblo Mexican food any time soon, so if you’re looking for epic green chili realness, this probably isn’t your place. However, this food is definitely more authentic in flavor to what I’ve had in Mexico.
This place is so great! My server Yesel was excellent! So professional and such a sweetheart 😉 I ordered the smothered burrito, it was delicious! I recommend this place for all Pueblo people and people who want real Mexican authentic food❤ Thank u for the wonderful service and great tasting food.!
Best street tacos in Pueblo. This was so much better than Cactus Flowers
Stopped by after a work event in the area. Chicken fajitas were ok. I had to wait 5-10 minutes extra to get corn tortillas. Way too many peppers and onions compared to the amount of chicken. Service was attentive, but there weren’t many people in there eating at that time.
My dad stopped in to use the bathroom so I came in with him to grab a bite to eat while here. The whole place smelled like sewer, and the vibe just ruined my appetite. My dad ordered a burrito and it was poorly wrapped not to meantioned wrapped incorrectly so that all the Ingredients were layered separately when eaten. This place is awful and Ill never come back. The waiting staff were not attentive or aware of the customers in the building. $2 for a soda drink but no free refills. Never again!!! There are much better places around town to spend my money at
2 visits and I am one happy customer! My boyfriend and I dined in and had burritos. Amazing food and decent prices! Also great customer service! Today I placed an order for pick up and had the same results. They were friendly, food was ready fast and I loved that they added chips and salsa. Thanks guys! Keep it up :)
Great food, and the most stuffed barbacoa tacos Ive seen. $10 for a plate of isnt expensive to me but Im comparing to Denver Colfax restaurants. This was a way better value and cooked to perfection. And after I started eating the waitress brought out a couple cinnamon sopapillas because the cook thought it took too long to serve me. It was just longer than a quick bathroom stop. The service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return next time Im in town!
Our first time eating at Fritangas Mexican Restaurant. We had a really good lunch though my husband picked from the breakfast menu, a breakfast burrito, and it was excellent.Good food and good service. We will definitely return.
This was a very pleasant surprise! We were in the neighborhood and we needed to eat. Not only is the place clean as a whistle, but their salsa is so incredibly delicious that it could make a car bumper taste good. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. The cost of our meal was very reasonable and we had a really nice time.
The first couple of times that I was here it was awesome- service was good the food was good/ timely. The last three times we went, the food sat in the window to where the fajita skillet wasnt even hot, it took forever just to get a drink order and the food was less flavorful than when it first opened. Very sad because it is close by.
I needed a good sit down lunch with dining wear. This place advertised a nice looking lunch plate for $6.99. I went for it.The meal was fine, there were a number of lunch plates to choose from. I chose a beef burrito plate smoothered in green chili, my choice hot, medium, or mild. I chose hot. It tasted great for a good lunch price. I got an order of sopapillas to go for $4.95. My tea cost $2.50.The service was good. I had an attractive waitress, and an attentive waiter. Id eat here again. I want to try their breakfast special for under five bucks.
Real Mexican food done great. You dont get more authentic than that! They do breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. Deserts are quite the selection. Prices on the food is very reasonable. Staff here are very friendly. Their service is great! :)
I was actually shocked to read they had good reviews. Our waitress was nice and all, but the service was super slow. Took forever just for me to pay luckily I’m not the type to dine and dash because that would be super easy because they don’t pay attention. The food had no flavor, so many people at my table complained about the food. Burned, too salty, no flavor. My poor nephews hamburger looked black as can be, it was so burned, my nieces chicken was so dry (be sure to have lots of water so you don’t choke on their dry food). I don’t recommend & I won’t eat there again! I wish I could give a 0 star, because even 1 star is giving too much!
Friendly service! Our waitress was very nice and kept up with us to see if we needed refills or anything. The portion sizes are great! I ordered a quesadilla for my meal and for the same price as another Mexican restaurant down the road I got twice as much food! (the other place folds theirs in half). Food tasted great, wasnt too pricey (ten-ish a personand if we had room for dessert those were huge too! Would definitely come back.
Real Mexican food like my Mother and Grandmother would cook. Far outshines the typical Tex-Mex found throughout the Pueblo market. A fresh, impressive dining experience with their large unique menu options and their very cordial and attentive wait staff. Also have take out menu option. My new favorite.
3:30 Wednesday March 21st 2018 Im not one to write reviews but I think everyone should know this was the worst customer service Ive ever encountered and the food was horrible. We were served old dry meat and tortillas. The vegetables were not fresh. The employees social life was more important than waiting on us. For a new restaurant in town I think this is unacceptable please dont waste your time or money theres plenty of other good Mexican restaurants near by. Taco Bell would have been a better choice than this place I will never return to this place and I will tell everyone to never go there
Im a white guy...dont hold it against me. Lol. I grew up in the south knowing nothing but Tex Mex. Moved here and thought Id experienced good Mexican food. First time here my wife said this is what she has always wanted me to experience. This was only after she looked at the menu. I have always been a one or two dish guy. I can not try anything twice here. Nothing looks familiar but everything looks amazing. So far I have had 3 dishes here. I cant wait to try the 4th. The food is amazing. The staff is too! Very kind and respectful. My new favorite place in Pueblo.
Great food, good prices for the portion you get! Breakfast burritos are huge and start at only $3 or $4. Our waitresses name was Cassandra she was amazing and checked on us every little while, she was very friendly and always smiling definitely made our experience great and we will be going back soon to try something different and hopefully we can get the same waitress! Good luck
Amazingly organized for only being open a week. The food was excellent, the service superb, and the prices fair. The fried ice cream was to die for and enough for four people...although two of us snarfed it up. The only negative was the noise level.
Was seated and after 15 minutes we had to ask who our server was and were told they didnt know they were our server. Then after 20 more minutes our order was finally taken. After sitting for an hour our food still hasnt been delivered. The food turned out to be delicious and the waitress was apologetic. It seemed as though the staff havent been trained to turn the tables and the kitchen was slow.
We went to visit Fritangas on a whim after seeing a advertisement on Facebook. We were very surprised at the food that we ordered. Plates were very good sized and very delicious tasting. The price is very comparable to the other restaurants in the area and we ate very well for the $30.00 we spent. We fed two children and two adults with drinks. We will be going back for sure! The staff is awesome and make sure everything is OK and drinks were full!
