Friends Bairro Alto in Lisbon

LGBTQI+ hotspot in Lisbon. It could just be bigger… rather small and therefore crowded on weekends.

Came to this bar and experienced what I considered to be a racist experience. Door man stopped me when I was going to return my plastic cup to get my euro back. He stops me (a black maleafter letting several others that were not black, in. When i questioned him he asked me if I had a problem. He would not let me in because he was letting people out. There was no one coming out at that time. There is such a heavy racist understood here. I would avoid all together if you are a person of color.

Great bar with a lively vibe. Decent measures and good prices. Bar staff and the fab doorman make the place what it is.

What a hot MESS!!! This place is small and smells like dirty toilet. The line to get in is 40 minutes long and the bouncer will shamelessly let his friends cut the line and if you complain he will not let to enter the place. If it wasnt for the location this place wouldve been dead already.

My two best friends and I spent 5 nights in Lisbon and each of them we started off at Friends. It has the perfect mix of chill vibes and high energy–with a lounge area and dancing. The barmen keep the party going and make the best double vodka sodas. Friends is the perfect spot to experience what the Lisbon gay nightlife scene has to offer. I strongly recommend anyone in Lisbon to check out this bar multiple times!

The staff is awful. They thought I kicked a door in the toilets, watching me on video (in the toilets ?), when I was… very cool. I tried to explain the misunderstanding, they showed me a picture where we don’t see me kicking the door at all 🤨.Everybody can do a mistake of interpretation but the way they acted and pushed me out was very wrong. And it is frustrating because I was nice with everybody all the night.I don’t support bars who seek only our money with no respect at the end.

Lovely music and location, however, the staff seems overwhelmed to serve all their guest. We were 30 min in this bar and due to covid are they serving and taking orders at the table. Unfortunately were their not able to serve our table. After asking at the bar it was the only reaction that they’re gonna send someone to our table. Only 10 min later someone came to our table to take our order.

A small cosy gay bar in Barrio Alto. Great music and friendly staff that made us feel very welcome. The drinks are amazing and great value. The bar is clean and well sanitised. They also offer a wide range of tapas which were delicious. Go check them out, Im sure youll have a great time.

Probably one of the best bars in Lisbon. Always crowded, but full of nice, friendly, cute people. Best drinks at the cheapest prices. They have karaoke every thursday and a lot of themed parties. Staff is incredibly nice!

Here you can find nice cocktails. And they have a reasonable price as well. We will definitely come more often.

It was really really busy, low ceiling, people smoking indoors, very loud music and impossible to buy a drink at the bar. Obviously a popular place to go, but I didnt like it as a bar, they need to get a bigger place.

Totally recommend this place for nice drinks and staff excellence. Can become a bit overcrowded but in the end of the day, music and entertainment is a plus.

This bar has a charm like the old gay clubs pf old. I had thought such gay bars dont exist anymore in the world until I walked into Friends. They play very good mysic. The barmen are super friendly. The alcohol prices are reasonable. The vibe is totally out of this world.

It can get very crowded inside! So, if youre not good with crowds or have a small bladder (yes, the queue for the restroom is usually long as well 🙈), you can spend your time outside, chatting and enjoying the drinks with your friends.

+ free entrance+ good music+ nice people- its really tiny- too hot to dance. Please you need a better air conditioner system!- on sunday they close at 1.30 a.m.

Awesome drinks! Playlist is old good songs! Party starts from 9-10pm. If you fancy to have a nice quiet drinks come early

A very nice place for queer people to hang out. Music, dance, drinks, snuggle and grinding. It’s very small tho, there was a mountain of ppl waiting outside when I left.

Nice place lgtb mixed, open mind and friendly. Hot and sweaty barmen and people with good atmosphere and music. An easy place to take a drink, have fun, good music, and meet people.

The security guy tried to charge me and not my two friends. Reason? After asking multiple times, well never know. We did make it in later on when another guy who turned out to be a bartender was at the door. We stepped out fot a smoke, the same "security" man would not let me in to retrieve my coat and jacket that wete inside without paying. Best of all he punched me out for insisting that I needed to get my personal items inside. This place is a travesty. Do not patronise them. It is crowded; overrated and some kind of man representing the place unequivocally stood behind their security man. I still question why I was treated how I was treated. I am a good, honest person. Nobody deserves to be treated how I was treated here.

The atmosphere is good, the drinks are cheap. The only thing is the music. Almost the whole night brazilian music, sometimes very rare international music in english, this is a bit boring for someone that doesnt know and doesnt understand brazilian music.

Very small bar that gets very crowded at the right times. A very eclectic corwd and more unusual then what im used to from Sydney. People smoking in such small confines isnt pleasant, but most europeans wouldnt take issue with this.Outside on the street gets just as busy as inside.Drinks are not particularly cheap, but staff are friendly.

Very friendly barman, very nice music, suitable for dancing and...a lot of youngsters (in case you wanna feel young again or if you still have a young soul:strongly recommend it. Oh, oh, forgot to mention, every now and then they have karaoke nights or themed parties.

The prices are good and they play good music. The staff was very forthcoming. And it is also a nice place because there are cool gay people around.
