Shopping center with big-box stores selling apparel, pet supplies, sporting goods & groceries.
Great stores but it’s scary to walk through the parking lot when it’s busy
Love Tjmaxx and whole foods here. But now they have a Trek bike store. Im not Trek owner but it was nice to look around. #PinarelloGirl
All shops at one stop with Whole Foods being here getting all the fresh and organic foods … I love ❤️
Went to Xfinity this particular time but Whole Foods is always a good choice to pick up a good meal to go.
Beautiful with fall colors! I want to play one round.
Groceries, veggies, home cleaning, and food available here. Nice to get them at one place, pricing is decent.
I went to Pet Smart and Whole Foods. Parking spaces are readily available. 🤷🏾♀️
Best mall to get groceries from, whole and traders Joe right across each other ….This whole foods is very big !
It is a good mall with a variety of shops for a variety of needs; groceries, beer & liquors, home goods, pet goods, office goods, and more. Many businesses have been there for a while. A favorite shopping spot when I was a Cambridge local. The nearby Starbucks and trader Joes is nice, too.
Fresh Pond Mall has so many stores that I didnt need to go anywhere else! Everything I needed was right there at Fresh Pond. I am 100% completely satisfied with every store! A lot of the stores staff went above and beyond to help me find everything I needed and was very nice. I would refer this to anyone that is looking to shop for food clothes and other items
Always a great experience, but my reasoning for only 4 stars is simply due to the lack of groundskeepers to maintain the parking lot and keep it clean and decongested. But OVERALL, ALWAYS A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
Yikes! Cockroaches galore!I was here recently walking around and doing some light window shopping. I had an appointment in the office building attached to the mall complex. When I was waiting for my elevator, I counted 13 cockroaches! They were all dead, thank goodness.I am concerned as there are food establishments directly attached to this complex. There was even a cockroach in the mens room!I would be weary about purchasing food items near this location.
Parking could be better.Stores are great.
Staples at the Fresh Pond Mall is 100% completely amazing and the staff is awesome they completely Go 100% above and beyond for you and help you with anything you need
Its pretty good, I like the liquor stores there
This is an old fashioned strip type mall with a Whole Foods, TJ Maxx, PetSmart, McDonalds and some other stores. Except for rush hour traffic when I would avoid, this is easy to pull in, park, shop, exit. On the other side of the road is a CVS and Trader Joes so convenient shopping area.
This is a great shopping area. Usually no problem with parking. The whole foods here is the biggest and best in town. Right next door is a great liquor store for beer and wine, and theyre also is a TJ Maxx and a Staples as well as some other stores. Would be great if there was a place to get a haircut in the shopping center or maybe a nail salon. There is a Starbucks just outside the shopping area between the hotel and the liquor store.
Always inviting with scenery and one stop shopping.
Great place to get groceries and also bike friendly
good one has many entertainment and grocer
Great stores, however the parking lot is a death challenge to navigate. theres generally no obedience of any traffic pattern whatsoever and people discourteously drive through parking lots almost hitting you as youre trying to get out of your car. I think management could do a lot of things to improve this, considered Jersey walls for traffic flow and to prevent the unpredictable high-speed cut-throughs that appear to occur here.Love that there is a Whole Foods, TJ Max, Pet Smart AND CorePower Yoga in the SAME place!
Terrible. Outdated. Tj maxx was awful, had old perfumes and colognes. Bad selection of clothing. The checkout cashier was very nice.
Excellent location for the public transportation and shop center very near for friends and family to meet. Also buy great deals for healthy grocery ideas for lunch and dinner 🍽️ plus snacks 😋!! Try and see now will be satisfied!
There’s a UShop Amazon Food warehouse. Apple Cinema is very nice. Heads up: many drivers here weren’t taught it’s inappropriate to travel through the empty spaces.
Very welcoming & inviting! My only suggestion is hopefully another local coffeeshop as an alternative to Dunkin across the street.Ditto for hopefully transitioning to automatic crosswalk TECH to help make the area more safer to cross citing insufficient time to cross the streets. Uh-oh! Beth
Always great shopping for basic needs like office supplies, pet food, clothes and home goods and groceries.
Its got a whole paycheck and some other stores like HomeGoods/TJM, but no clue why the parking lot is always packed other than commuters avoiding the $7/day fee at the Alewife parking garage.
We shopped at Whole Foods Market. Its a good store. A little pricey, but a good store. Its clean and neat. The staff have good attitudes. The parking lot is roomy. Easy to go in, shop and go out. Its a small challenge getting onto route 2 from the parking lot. Just be patient and courteous.
Relatively clean and well maintained pavement which makes it easier to ride your bike. Speaking of which the whole foods there has an ample amount of bike parking zones which is so nice! Traffic is almost always heavy going in and out so you have to make sure youre aware of whats going on at all times. It is connected to a highway so that goes without saying but mentioning it to supply emphasis.
I went to school above the McDonalds.I volunteered for Friends of the Alewife above the McDonalds. The Smoke shop next to the McDonalds is closed.Down from the McDonalds is Whole Food, where the Mom of my classmate from above the McDonalds made the very best food. There was a girl at the Petco two stores down from the McDonalds who worked there purely to take care of the animals. She was good-hearted and maybe would have found her people in Bay Area. But she should take all the animals with her, especially ferrets. I got guinea pig food here....Ferret interlude- RPI, ferret on the loose behind the ancient heater pipes in the kitchen. Was that Hong?...Not for nothing but I have the McDonalds App and am madly devoted to this store and everybody in it.Watch out to not moosh the wooly bears when you go down the secret woodland path from rte 16, and enjoy the homemade stairs that replace the sideways shopping cart which prevents you from spraining your ankle when you jump off the wall to the parking lot.
Went to Staples here. Unfortunately they dont have manilla mailing envelopes without a metal clasp. The store is located at the very back of the parking lot and theres no mention of it on the sign at the entrance, but the staff was very helpful and attentive.
Its a zoo. Always a zoo on Sunday. Extremely frustrating to find a parking spot or move your car at all due to all the activity. If you are shopping at Trader Joes, make sure NOT to park in the areas for the furniture store or else they might tow you.
Sometimes cars zip around like they’re on the open road. McDonald’s doesn’t look the best. But all of the other store fronts look fine and presentable. There’s ample parking space, though during busy hours it may be hard to find a spot close to the popular stores.
A fine spot for much of what you need. Its perfect for Sunday if grocery shopping with a side of clothes shopping or some McDonalds. Its not the kind of place you would go out of your way to visit but for those in the Cambridge, Arlington and Belmont areas its a staple. The highlight of the mall is the liquor store with its large selection and knowledgeable staff. One of the big cons of the area is the bottleneck traffic that occurs during rush hour. It was never meant to have that kind of traffic.
Not a bad shopping mall. Great liquor store with a good selection of beer, wine and spirits and helpful staff. A Whole Foods Market that is quite busy at lunch and during typical grocery shopping times. There is a Verizon Store, a McDonald’s, Staples, a Corepower Yoga studio and the Apple cinema among other things.
I love the fresh pond area its really nice there, and a huge variety of food stores Banks phones clothing and a theater on top of that.Definitely check it out when youre in the area...
Came here with my nephew on a really nice sunny day. We were planning on taking a nice swim in the fresh pond -- but we couldnt find it anywhere. We ended up having to walk through TJ Maxx in our bathing suits. 5 stars.
Plenty of parking and great selection of stores. Very clean and well maintained. Entry and exit is a breeze to every route you need to travel..
The outside part of the property needs a facelift. The parking lot is dark at night, and there are so many variables with the flow of traffic. I drive slow and still, people come from every direction. Yesterday a person on foot had come walking straight into the parking lot from what might be a hole in the fence. Its a dark corner and its on the side where the hotel is. Theres greenery along the fence that obscures any person approaching and a driver can only see them when they are almost right in front of the car. Pedestrians dont have good access until they get to the one marked path that leads to the Whole Foods. Maybe they could paint another pedestrian walkway or crosswalk. And put in lighting that evenly covers the entire area.
Somehow has everything I really need, though mourning the loss of Modell Sports. TJ Maxx, Whole Foods, and Staples are perfect stores, plus the other side of Alewife has the other TJ (Trader Joesplus CVS. Really glad its nearby.
Lousy stripmall. The location is garbage, extremely congested, and stressful to drive in. The whole place looks run-down, and the cheap colored LED lighting they added to the exterior just looks cheesy. The whole foods is good, and staples is always a useful store, but the rest of the stores are unremarkable at best, and the location sucks. Recommended only if you are already here (ex on your commuteand need groceries or office supplies - if youre coming from a distance, the staples on the other side of the river nearby is better and easier to get to, and there are whole foods locations all over the place, and none of the other stores are worth going to.
I like the mall, but not the parking lot. Please are flying in there! I am surprised no on got killed there yet. This mall has from Whole Foods to McDonald to a movie theater. There is something for everybody. And it helps that it is a walking distance from Alewife T stop!
From my prospective it has very limited number of shops and poor entertainment facilities including restaurants. Whoever planned and built this mall did no justice for this incredible nearby area and Cambridge in general. The surrounding space could have been utilized to build convenient and more attractive shopping mall similar to Shops at Chestnut Hill or similar malls. My family and I enjoy mostly shopping at Whole Food store. T.J. Maxx & Home Goods is the least attractive in term of goods type, limitation and prices.
I usually shop at the Medford Whole Foods Market but I was driving by Fresh Pond and pulled in there to try the WFM. The produce selection was huge and high quality. The staff at the fish counter was exceptional. The store was neat and well-stocked. I wish it were easier to get to from where I live.At the other end of the mall is a Staples and they will recycle printers and other electronics. I dont frequent the other stores in between. Maybe someone else has chimed in on other shopping opportunities.
Its an alright mall to drive through, but its an inconvenience to walk around. The shops are fine, but the mall itself is more of a shopping center, and a limited one at that. Id not make a detour unless youre looking for a store in particular. I do like the location however, and the convenience of alternative transportation to and from is its biggest selling point.
This mall has managed to hang in there and thrive throughout the many years of its existence. It serves a great population and should be around for years to come. One of this small strip malls biggest downfall is its access or lack thereof so if you can consider time of day when shopping here if driving. The Fresh Pond area can get locked down with traffic during certain times as its access to Route 2 etc. This entire area has grown up over the years and may be worth taking another a look if you havent done so in a while.
Nice grouping of useful stores with free parking. Pretty easy to get to by car. Not the newest or the shiniest, but we do a lot of business here. One of the best shopping centers around.
Parking can be limited at peak hours, especially in front of whole foods, but the variety of stores makes this mall a great place to hit food, drink, clothing, and home all in one stop. And having a starbucks in the next parking lot over is always a plus.
This place doesnt really feel like a mall so much as a larger shopping plaza. Parking is always insane and people arent very friendly as you try to get out of the way to let other people park. Radioshack just closed for good here, and the movie theater is pretty sketchy with terrible, old seats. Having a Staples nearby is really convenient and they have fast online pickup service. Unfortunately, this mall is by two difficult roundabouts and gets very congested during rush hours and weekends.
I went to whole foods here and got a burrito bowl. It was terrible and watery. I definitely would stick with Chipotle. I went to the staples here for tablet hunting as well. I did not find what I was looking for. There is plenty of parking. Overall the area didnt really stand out to me. Limited amount of stores as well.
