Its a very old historical library and beautiful place
Frere Hall is actually an ancient church building which has been converted into a library and art gallery with a beautiful big garden around all four directions under the local government. The garden is suitable for families. Theres a portion reserved for book sellers and also a portion is for families only. Place is nice for relaxation. Its open for public free of charge. I must mention that the garden around the church has been given a new name i.e. Jinnah Garden and the art gallery name is Sadaquain Art gallery. In opposite of church there is a 5 star hotel Marriot.

Ferer Hall in Karachi, That dates from the early British colonial era in sindh. Completed in 1865, Ferere hall was originally intended to serve as Karachis Town Hall. and now serves as an exhibition space And Library.
Dating back to 1865, the Frere Hall building recalls the time when Pakistan was a part of the Indian British colony. Surrounded by lush green gardens, today, the building serves as a library and an art gallery. Designed by Henry Saint Clair Wilkins, Frere Hall is located in the Saddar district, which is also home to many other picturesque colonial architecture.
Today I visited Ferrer Hall and I saw that the wood that was planted in Ferrer Hall has rotted from time to time in some places and the iron that was used at that time has also rotted from many places. The Seas Pakistan team is working hard on this and we hope to get this project back to its original state soon.
Better Maintained place and historical building of Karachi. May be due to secured location this place is not ruined. Park is also well kept.In my recent visit in August 2021 I was shocked to see broken benches. Untrimmed grass, litters. It seemed like this great icon of karachi rotting and in shambles.Plantation also needs attention.
The Sadequain Gallery upstairs is a must visit.
Amazing place to explore, entertaimnet , enjoyment, looks like comunity hall, many people visting there
One of the aesthetic places in Karachi to visit. Frere Hall has its own charm and charisma, I just wish govt. to take adequate measures to preserve the historic building. On Sunday, when I visited the library and gallery were closed, but I will InshaAllah visit them soon. Secondly the thing I really want to discuss it, as good citizens its also our responsibility to preserve the historical places, but I was disappointed to see trash on the ground, in grass. We also need to play our roles in keeping the area clean. Sunday Book Market was the highlight, they have pretty good collection and in quite reasonable price.
If you havent been, its a must see historical building in Karachi, kept in pristine condition, one of the few Victorian architecture marvels that has survived so well. Take a walk along the park and enjoy seeing it from a distance and up close.
Its really nice place to calm and be relaxed and yeah theres a library where you can read history of pakistan, more old and new books to study and many more , you may go with your family as well and theres a big garden and play area too.

Art gallery and library . beautiful place for art lover and worth visiting for students
Amazing architecture, must visit place while being in Karachi. Feels amazing at night.
Clean n good environment.... gud place to chill or relax...
It is really old and really good library. But something was so sad for me. The place is ruined. There are too many old books but they keep it under very bad conditions. I felt like I was walking through the history but Im really so sad about this bad condition and bad treatment of the history. Someone should make the necessary changes and take care of both building and the books immediately…
Wonderful place to visit. You can explore the park but if you want to go inside the hall please visit before 5:00 pm .beautiful beautiful.
The place has a Art Gallery where Famous Artist Sadqain piece of Arts has been displayed. The historical place needs serious attention of administration. You can see a lot of ignored plants in vases and untidy surroundings.
This is very good place specially for Artists. Library was also there but only opened in working days and closed during weekends. Art gallery was the best and lots of arts were displayed there.

Historic building. Host to many incredible art exhibitions. The halls ceilings were decorated by the world-renowned Pakistani artist Sadequain in the 1980s, with one mural remaining incomplete after his death in 1987. Must see.
Art, literature, colonial structure & natural environment makes Frere Hall most photogenic and attractive place of our city
It is a place of historic importance. Intially it was only for whites during the British Raj. After partition this became a hub for cultural activities. Art shows are very common here with an old library attached. The place is named after the British General Frere.
One of the historic monument of Karachi. The building and the Lawns need attention. Its requested that Mayer Karachi should take good care of these historical buildings and their cleanliness.

Nice & peaceful place with lush green lawn and beautiful trees all around. Frere Hall Building is worth seeing. Wonderful architecture.
Beautiful place. Very nice and serene. The lawn on its side is open for public and so is the hall itself. Makes for a great picnic place or just someplace to indulge in outdoor activities. The hall itself has 2 attractions one is the sadequain painting display and the second is the main library. The library houses newspaper archives dating back to the 50s
This place is great to spend the evening with family. As this building has a beauty of 19tg century and its garden has old shady trees to relax under the shinny summer eveningd.
As a parkour athlete, this place is so great with so many obstacles. The old architect gives amazing vibes. Good for morning walks and exercises.
What a place. For short movie, tik tok and youtube videos it is a good place. Park and hall both are good. In park beautiful flowers are spreding fragnance.
Gothic architecture that reminds Karachis British colonial past ,the park around the building offers a perfect place to relax and enjoy with family .The interior of building has possession of best paintings of Sadqain
There was a flower exhibition at Frere Hall when we went there on 23rd January. I dont know if theyre still displaying it. But nonetheless, I really enjoyed there. Extremely beautiful flowers, outdoor and indoor plants, handicrafts, pottery and so much more stuff was available to look at and buy! Gorgeous place.
Frere hall has always been a fun place to be around. We used to go there when we were kids to cycle and skate, we sometimes used to go there on horse cart. Then every Sunday the book stalls were setup there and became the reason for me to go. There are often art exhibitions in the hall and the building itself is marvellous. Went there this week for the marigold festival and had lots of fun
The architecture is amazing. It can be accessed anytime during the day. Although it is usually a bit overcrowded by people filming their tik toks but one can just enjoy the architecture of that era.
Very lucrative and mesmerized structure. It gives you a feeling of peace and serenity. Well surrounded by garden. Requires attention from the local administration for its cleanliness and further beautification.
Visited the place on sunday. Remained unable to go inside. However, outside gardens are beautiful. Place is quite crowded so.... you have to be careful and do self precautions for masks and sanitizers. No guidelines available for covid. Every third person here is tik tokker and making videos. The ratio of families, children and females is slightly less. Another chance to visit early morning showed that this place is quite peaceful. It has Sadaqain art gallery and a library which are temperoraily closed due to maintence work in progress till mid dec 2020. However, to get a feeĺ the outside area is still worth exploring.
