Plaza de Armas, KFC, Cusco 08000, Peru, Putina
Lively urban gathering place offering colonial arcades, a cathedral, gardens & a central fountain.
Rainbow mountain was really good, but the free walking tour of cusco wasn’t worth my time.
Super tour
So it was not a really good tour. The guide didnt told much about the city itself. But the bad parts were when we walked up a hill in the end of the tour and two persons couldnt follow anymore he got angry and said that its his job to come here and its only two blocks. Also at the end of the tour as he got not very good tips from the people he said things like: next time you should give me the same in euros or next time you dont need to show up anymore. Very bad experience
Amazing walking tour with Elvis who showed us historical places, the market and explained so much details about Peruvian history. We really enjoyed it and totally recommend it!!!
La mejor experiencia ,muy buenos guias
Amazing tour! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cusco!
Local Frank gave a really passionated and nice tour. We visited a lot of different places, historical, nice cityspots and more.
great!
really good tour!
Enjoyed the tour
I think our guide was Cali. And he knew a lot. He studied in university sociology and knows the Incas and archecture well. I highly recommend the tour! It is free, come on people. Just be sure to tip the guide something. He donates his time and knowledge and makes it interesting. Great tour, just go and check it out if you want to learn a bit about Cuzco.
The tour was perfect to learn more about the culture of cusco and to see how beautiful this city is and how wonderful the people are. We really recommend this tour!
Recomendado
A recommander !!
Enjoyed a great evening tour with Free Walking Tours! Our guide showed us a ton of great spots plus gave us countless tips for how best to enjoy the city. The highlight was the evening cocktail at Viewhouse! For all those talking about the tour not being free, the free walking tours are meant for gratuity at the end! The whole point of it being “free” is to encourage the guides to work as hard as possible to make sure you enjoy your time and therefore, tip more.
Our tour guide Kali was great! Very informative, energetic and went in a lot of depth - even though we had been on multiple guided tours in Peru (Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Qorikoncha), Kali still explained a lot that we didnt know about. The tour took us to really great viewpoints and less known sections of the city to appreciate different kinds of architecture, both pre-colonial and colonial. It was a 2.5 hour tour and I wish I did the tour on day 1 as soon as I got to Cusco so that I could have the time to explore the places Kali recommended.Kali also gave great recommendations afterwards for food and was super friendly, being willing to give his contact info in case we ever wanted any recommendations for anything else anywhere in Peru.
Avoid this tour. First of all its not free, they will force you to pay and the attitude of the guide was awful. Its one of the worst "free" walking tours Ive been.Edit: As you can see they gave a reply an they tried to attack me and discredit me. So now you know they take no criticism. You should really just pay a regular tour. Im sure you will have a better time.
Great free walking tour of Cusco. The guide was very informative and his English was easily understood. He also pointed out all the entry fees if you wanted to go inside any of the attractions later. Bus up to Saqsaywaman was an extra 10 Soles. No pressure to tip any specific amount.
Thank you for this great walking tour ! You get to see some hidden corners of Cusco, and stories you may not find in books plus live music and a pisco sour with a view. One of the best ways to get to know the city.
I booked my Machu Picchu tour with them and was very satisfied. The guide came and picked me up at my hostel, talked me through every step of my two day trip. A driver then met us and picked me up to take me to Aguas Calientes. The driver they put me in contact with was really nice, he even helped me when I got ill on the way to Machu Picchu. When I had issues finding my guide once I got to Aguas Calientes and when I called the agency in Cusco, they contacted to guide in Aguas Calientes so he could get in touch with me.
Maybe not the most information - packed walking tour Ive ever been on, but I was still very happy with it. Also, better variety than most tours : ruins, architecture, weaving arts, pisco trading; you do it all.
Jose was a very good guide and we learned a lot about the town, both in architecture and what was going on (parades, dances, etc.Lots of interesting stops too, including a bar where we got a free drink at the end!Would not recommend taking this tour if it is your first day in Cusco as walking may get tiring when your body is still aclimatizing to the altitude. Give yourself time to adjust and walking will be more enjoyable! :)
We decided to join the tour last minute and Cesar was our guide. Gave us lots of info about the Ica history and the town Cusco. Really liked it! Thanks!
For the rainbow mountain tour, they were si late, the bus pick up us 2 jours late. Really suck.
Absolutely terrible walking tour. Worst Ive done in 18 months travel. Guide didnt know much or give much information even though there was a huge parade beside us. Had lots of young guys just grabbing more people for the tour.We left after 30 mins along with half the tour as we were brought to a square to pay to take pictures of Llamas.
Muy bueno el tour en español. Nuestro guía Frank demostró mucho conocimiento y ganas de transmitirlo. Muy recomendable!
This is not a free tour. They expect you to pay at least 10 soles per person and they say it as a threat. If you dont like it you can leave the tour.
One of the worst free walking tours I ever did (and I did plenty of them)! The guide offered very little information about the city, after the tour I didnt feel like I had much learnt. It was rather a commercial tour with stops for selfies with alpakas (giving a tip, of course), a local musician we were almost forced to listen and leaving a tip to and a usual cloth shop. It really felt like they just wanted to sell us stuff.Would not recommend!
José will take you through Cusco on a 2 hour walking tour, starting from KFC at Plaza Mayor. The tour is tip based. 10-25 soles per person seems to be the range.Be advised that the tour has a huge focus on architecture (which is interesting, especially in Cusco), however we expected to hear a bit more about culture and modern life in Cusco.José also gives you some nice tips about places to shop and what to eat when going to one of the many restaurants specializing in Peruvian cuisine.
We had Freddy and had to leave midway through the tour because we lost the will to stand, walk, stay awake, care or breathe anymore. Freddy started the tour by saying this “free” walking is for people who are willing to pay. There are plenty of paid walking tours, start one of those, don’t lie to people. We’ve done plenty of free walking tours around the world and happily tipped the tour guides handsomely because they were so entertaining and informative. Freddy was unentertaining and wasn’t able to present the history or culture in a coherent way. We left midway after giving him a tip, but he rudely said it wasn’t enough and asked for more money on this “free” tour. Nothing like making me regret my choice to give him a tip.If you get Freddy, leave the tour.
Great tour. Jose is really friendly. He showed us a lot of different areas around the center cusco and not only. We even got up to the Sacsayhuamán and the statue of Christ. I really recommend a tour with him.
