Had a business meeting here and I would highly recommend it. The food is outstanding! I had the scallops for starter and the duck for main it everything was exquisite. Perfectly pink duck, succulent scallops and the presentation is stunning too! The service is also excellent, they give you plenty of time to discuss business and the wine list is pretty decent too.

A wonderful restaurant with amazing food, a great atmosphere and attentive friendly staff. Our party of five dined here on a Saturday afternoon for my husband’s birthday meal and the food was just delicious. Highlights were the scallops, tempura prawns, duck and beef fillet. Our bill was likely higher due to us all having alcohol including quite a pricy bottle of wine but it was worth it. Our only comment was that knowing it was a special birthday they could have done more but overall it was an exceptional meal and we will be back.

Had an excellent lunch here. The food is really very tasty and well presented, clearly using good quality ingredients. The staff were very professional and helpful, and really helped by being very unobtrusive in their service.Would definitely recommend for a visit if you are in the area.

We cannot fault this venue. The Clarence room was perfect for a family occasion. The food we chose could not have been better. Crab and scallop starter. Lamb and monkfish followed by cheese board. Not only delicious but just the right quantity..The staff were friendly and efficient.

9/10 - and I’ve yet to find the elusive 10/10. The food and experience, care and attention, and overall experience was outstanding. In the midst of trends and gimmicks that feature so heavily in restaurants, the assurance of excellence offered by Fredrick’s is so welcome. It was a joy to dine here.

Tasteless food, low quality ingredients, average and dated way of cooking. Very expensive and not worth it for the price.Service was ok.

We had the “Chefs Choice Menu” as we were a group booking. Overall it is unimpressive and dated, and there was a lack of vegetarian and vegan options.Certainly finer options throughout London.

A real delight. I have eaten here a few times over the last few years and it never fails to please. The place is light and airy, with a a good number of tables outside - perfect in the Summer we are having. The menu is always interesting - one of those menus where it is difficult to choose because you want most things on it. A great wine list. Great service. It is not cheap, but given its quality, it shouldn’t. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice enough space, service mostly okay, but the food was just awful. Low quality ingredients, bland and tasteless, no imagination in cooking at all. When complained to the waiter collecting the plates, I got a response ‘you are entitled to your own opinion’. With so many lovely exciting eateries around, the place will not survive much longer without making some significant changes to how they operate.

Right from the welcoming smile at the reception the dinning expierence was indeed a pleasure. The starters were delicious. Especially the scallops. The ambience is bright and cheerful. A must visit

Went to my nephews wonderful post wedding party on Thursday evening. Lovely, helpful staff. Great food and venue. Very impressed.

Sorry to say after reading reviews, experience on the day was poor.My starter of scallops was lovely, so started off on a real positive and had big expectations.We ordered the chateau Briand medium rare, but it arrived so grey and essentially boiled. Another couple on the table ordered the same and again grey steak. After sending back two new boards arrived, one looked pretty nicely cooked the other not so much - we shared the good bits and tolerated the bad.Chargrilled broccoli as side sounds appealing, it arrived looking like under cooked boiled broccoli. Tasted slightly better but not great.Dessert was an average tarte train. Another diner had the tiramisu, which was essentially a creamy cake - 0 trace of any lovely coffee liqueur.A real shame as the staff are lovely, the venue great. Just not matched by the food.

Great location, very nice setting. Food is tasty. The service was nice but they were insisting to take our starters away when we were not finished and then let us wait 35 minutes to get us our main course…

This once reputable family restaurant was at it’s worst. We have been several times before over the years and came this time for a special birthday celebration. We sat there for three hours as it took almost one hour for the main to arrive. One starter was Plain pieces of tofu for lots of money that was so unimaginative it might as well have have been eaten out of the packet. When the mains finally did arrive, after we had had to ask for them, they were tepid and had clearly been sitting around for a while. When I mentioned this to the waiter he reassured us that everything was prepared fresh. Either he was not telling the truth or he was slurring the chef, as my fish came curled at the end with a thin skin on the sauce, and mashed potato that was yellow and crusted by the time it arrived. The staff, though well trained, seemed stupid and treated us with disdain. The ABBA karaoke form a party in the other room was annoying and intrusive and the whole dining experience was unpleasant. I don’t know who or what to blame for this, but the staff are clearly not taking responsibility. I think the family need to know this.

Just had a special weekend with family in London and had dinner at their local restaurant Fredericks. Wow is all I can say. For me everything was perfect and was the finishing touch to a great trip. The garden setting was amazing and the quality of food was first class.( Compliments to the chef best Chateaubriand I’ve ever had stunning We have 3 vegetarians in the family too and trying to find something a little different is usually a task in itself. Not here great choice and again the quality presentation and taste was amazing. Special mention to all the staff too you were as good as the food thank you!!. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back on our next visit.

Had a smashing time here recently, made all the more spectacular by one of our party attempting to juggle his glass of water and computer bag one-handed.The epic fail, water to the left of me, shards to the right, was dealt with by the staff in a "no fuss, low key" manner.They tidied up, excellently, and delivered delicious food as always. The chateaubriand for two was excellent, while my own choice of fish was absolutely delicious.Fredericks is an Islington institution. For good reason.

Food is always tasty but not cheap. Vibe is interesting - its Islington so you get all sorts. Generally the service has been slow and Ive always been sitting outside, but I know it gets quite busy. There always seem to be some kind of reception or event going on during weekends. Coffee is good too.

Always love coming here. Good atmosphere staff are very attentive. Salome and Jason were amaizing very attentive and provided great suggestions from the menu.I had the mushroom risotto which was to die for 😍

We spent our anniversary here after it was recommended by my partners parents who actually came here on one their first dates many years ago. They accommodated my booking and request to sit in the conservatory even though there was no availability online. The staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent. The fillet of beef was cooked to perfection for me. My partner had the stonebass which she enjoyed, this came with Bombay potato’s which were a surprisingly good addition. An excellent experience and we will definitely go back.

Excellent restaurant.Great premises, beautiful art, nice tables and chairs and the overall atmosphere is magical.I had a great night with my fiancé.The service was flawless and also very helpful. Amazing selection of wines and very funny and prepared sommelier. The waiters were friendly and skilled. The only thing we would not give 5 is the food. We found the quality of what we ordered quite average. We definitely come back to try the meat, probably the best item on the menu. But being the menu limited, every plate should excellent. Definitely recommended for a date and also for families.

Amazing experience over all! Elide,the hostess,very welcoming and friendly! We had a cocktail before dinner and it was the best espresso Martini,made by Martin, that I had in London. The food was amazing,the quality of the seafood was exceptional. The sea bream and the hake were perfectly cooked. The vegan dishes exceeded our expectations!. The staff very friendly and fun to interact with! One of the best restaurants to be in Angel!

Fred’s pop up was situated in their homely garden. I ordered duck confit, which came out extremely dry and overcooked. Feeling disappointed after hearing the hype about this place, I mentioned it to the staff who took it away and brought me a new one which was much more tender. Great customer service and would like to return again.

The food was okay, the duck and chicken dishes were slightly overcooked but the steak was great. The service was great too and attentive, the back area was really nice to sit and enjoy the meal but unfortunately my dessert (bottom in the photowas a massive let-down....the other desserts for £7 and mine £6 and it was the size of an egg holder! You can get a slice of cake from a cafe for less. Seriously disappointing and went from a "would come back" to a "ill try somewhere else" now. Bitter way to end the night.

Stumbled across this place checking Google Maps for a restaurant in the area, saw it had a good rating and looked nice... and ended up with one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London, especially in terms of value for money. Super nice staff and great service, delicious food, great wine list, nice atmosphere, and when I got the bill I was surprised that it wasn’t more expensive (of course you wouldn’t call it cheap, but it’s worth every penny). Highly recommended.

Modern British restaurant. Looks small from the outside by nice and big and airy inside. Garden tables in summer as well. Does a very well-priced set menu which is great for dinner before a show at nearby Sadlers Wells theatre.

Really cute restaurant with delicious food. We did the pre fix menu and had the goat cheese salad, cod fritters, grilled fish and steak and frites. The highlight was the dessert - we had an amazing vanilla panna cotta with raspberry compote and dried fruits that was really really delicious. The service was good, albeit a bit slow.

Great place if you planning your wedding day with smaller group! Fabulous food, and outside area. Hope to visit it soon.

This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants around the area and on upper street, it looks and feels like fine dining, but the prices are really reasonable for what you get.The setting is unprecedented, open, airy colourful and classy. The service is faultless, someone is by your table every minute or so to top up drinks, take plates and glasses away, its impeccable whilst still being friendly and warm. The food is delicious, with lots of different and interesting combinations, even the desserts were fantastic.The price is a little high but well worth it, and whilst a dress code doesnt seem to be enforced, most seem to dress to impress here. Overall Id recommend it in a heartbeat for dinner, lunch, breakfast, brunch and even the bar for drinks too!

Really nice food, the service is brilliant. The waitress are really polite and pacient and the music is the perfect music for eat ( blues and jazz), I really recommended.

Conventional and classy place with decently made food. Perfect for date or bringing the parents. Not particularly expensive if you go for the set menu (£15.5 for 2 courses, £19 for 3 - you can easily rack up this kind of bill at pizza express...- not to mention the high quality of service and the garden at the back.

Great wedding venue for a Sunday wedding. Fredericks usually close Sundays for private functions and I had the pleasure to photograph a wedding there last summer. The staff are very professional and friendly, the variety of rooms makes it a more interesting, versatile venue and the food was top notch.

Love coming here for a cheeky lunch with friends. Their menu is fantastic and I can always find something to enjoy. Wine menu is also very good and their staff is very knowledgeable.Make room for desert, its worth it.

Fantastic food and a great wine list. Unassuming entrance on an Angel back street, leading to a beautiful glass conservatory and outside dining area. Highly recommended.
