Frank Kitts Park - City park in Lower Hutt, New Zealand
Inaugural Matariki Celebrations, Wellington. Fantastic whanau activities, music, food and fireworks
Great place to go close to shops also great walk round Oriental Bay. We had a great time and so did the kids..close to a needed Coffee also.
Great to get away from the city, within the city. Most impressive π€
Got there to find the playground is closed until October 2022
The best wee park for kids of all ages (our 6 year olds favourite place).
Very relaxing, great area for a picnic and kids to play
No playground, just Rubble.. seemed strange starting this redevelopment during school holiday time when it could be used the most
The slide has gone! Lots of families cant wait to see the new playground!!
Such an awesome place to walk or chill out on a good weather day.
They are having a make over for the park and the lighthouse is going. It is part of Wellington history I remember it as a child please let it stay
Still a good time spot to hang out, with a nice view of the harbour.Even nicer with some ice-cream from Kaffee Eis π on a scorcher like tiday
Great time to spend in the park and relax, next to the Harbour, and close to nearby restaurants...
Really nice Park to relax under the shade of π² or in the sun π
YOU TOOK DOWN THE SLIDE :( NOOOO.All jokes aside cool park great grassy area to sit right next to it, only reason isnt 5 star is becuase you took down the slide smh. The slide was taken down because kids broke their legs on it apparently but I think is big conspiracy bro
Kids had fun at the playground and on the cars. Mum and dad had fun relaxing. Good place to just hangout on a sunny day.
Passed through on a work covering various historical elements of Wellington. It is essential that this public amenity be preserved for use by Wellingtonians.
Great place, beautiful at night
Always a good place to take a break from work to go to sit in the sun by the waterfront. Its nice and sunny all the time.
Fireworks massive fantastic π€ππ
Nice place, can get over crowded but its a good place to sit when you have nothing else to do. Plus some times you get performances there.
Despite the weather sometimes and especially being exposed to the Wellington wind, its always nice to stroll around Frank Kitts Park. The council and Wellingtonians do a good job at keeping it nice and tidy. Go Wellington!
A nice little park on the Wellington Harbour waterfront. There are walks connecting Oriental Bay Parade and the Inter Islander Ferry terminal.A lot of important buildings on the waterfront overlook this little green space.Kids can have a good time in the variety of rides installed here.A good place for an early morning walk and catching up the sun rise from the East coast. Can be windy at times though, due to the proximity to the waterfront.Well recommended for a casual stroll.
Really nice park on the waterfront. Recommend
FKPis a great central city, Waterfront facing park - next to a lagoon ! Awesome. Always something happening here.Great to chill with a takeout lunch, break out a yoga mat or play games. Often usedfor Public events. Today 14,000 people walked/ran around the Bays. Thats Wellington.
Much art very good vibe
Gindulgence was awesome today. Perfect weather, great company & a chance to try a variety of flavoured gins not sampled before. Plenty of water available if needed & a great crowd.
Iconic park on the beautiful waterfront. Has a couple of slides so good for various ages. Coffee, ice cream and toilets next door
A nice small little park. Good to let the kids to release their energy. The big slide is definitely the main focus of the park. Make sure your kids wear proper pants as it is a long way down and you dont want your kids to get friction burns.
Having never wandered into the park but the information plaques lured us in. The flag pole from the Wahine, a horse hitch. Will make a point of looking at more next time we walk the waterfront.
Nice little park with coffee available nearby. Its at the water front. So overall its really nice. Its quite small but still quite enjoyable
A nice simple park by the watetfront... we went with our toddlers so were on high alert due to close proximity to road n water.
First time visit to wellington and this beautiful friendly environment of wellingtonians.... πππππ
Very windy when we went but the Greek doughnuts were a delightful discovery while we watched the kids play. Playground was okay, needs some up keep.
Lovely little park and play area on Wellingtons waterfront close to the CBD. Ideal as a spot to have your lunch away from the office during the week or a nice place for the kids to play during the weekend. Frank Kitts Park also provides space to exercise for the grownups. The playground with its iconic lighthouse slide is rather unique and the views from the top of the slide are worth checking out even for the older kids. The park definitely adds to Wellingtons waterfront experience and is worth checking out.
Good park in a great spot. Wellingtons waterfront is one of her best features so putting a play park here is an obvious move. The recent upgrades make this park good for a range of ages but the big slide is still the star of the show.
It was a fun place to go with friends and family, wide variety of playground equipment and near a group of food trucks. Would recommend to go with friends and family for a fun day out.
Awesome park overlooking the sea. Very close to te Papa. Paid parking around. Good place for kids to have fun. Free entry. Close to underground market.
Kids love the playground.
Family friendly, right next to the Harbour and lagoon. Childrens play area. 2 minute walk to the CBD. If youre lucky, you might see stingrays, orcas and penguins. UPDATE: Since I did the review, the carpark underneath the park has been closed, because it is no longer safe if there is an earthquake.
Come chill with the kids on a sunny day as play on the slides, swings and other standard playground fare. Theres added entertainment from buskers, helicopters, dog walkers and an ice-cream stall or two to make this a good way to keep kids entertained for a whole morning. Parking can be a bit hit or miss tho
Beautiful location but tired and out dated. Could be awesome for kids off all ages if the playground worked together with the environment there
Lots of fun for kids and parents too. Safe and beautiful :)
Fantastic on a good day. Stunning views over the harbour with sting ray quite often along the shore line. Restaurants up on end and the main shopping area a few streets back. Nice park for the kids to play in and plenty of seating and grass for picnic stops or a game of ball. Ice cream and a few clothes shops with nz gifts too open some days. Generally a nice walk or if you fancy, hire some roller blades and skate around the whole bay.
Trying to walk along the Waterfront to railway station with granddaughters. Oops forgot about the playground. They had great fun, although a bit restricted in whats available for kids with disabilities.
Very lovely spot. Great for kids and familys. The park and playground is good and topped off with ice cream or cheerios from the nearby suppliers.
Kids love that long white slide. If you are doing a walk around the waterfront it is great place to stop, kids can play on the playground and there are places to get ice creams near by. Also a great place to stop for a picnic as there is lots of room. A great asset to Wellingtonβs Waterfront.
Fairly standard park. Nice view of the harbor and a good childrens play area. There is a weekly market in the underground carpark and some stalls on the harbour side on the carpark end.
A nice park in the middle of the city with the versatility of being a childrens playground, event venue and Saturday market (in the underground carpark). Frank Kitts Park is a gem, which is set perfectly on the waterfront in the heart of the city.
I have no idea who Frank is, but they must have been pretty important to get this dank park named after them.Things to do:Push kids around (swings)Hold an opera (plain old screaming)Walk all over people (easily done on Saturday by walking around above the underground market)Litter (if youre actually a jerk)Got lots of grass, would recommend.
Kids love the big slide. Swings and younger kids playground as well.
