Eatery serving Northern Italian dishes in a clublike setting inside the Embassy Suites Hotel.
Food is great. Sat at the bar with friends. Great experience. Will go back.
Wonderful food. Keeping the Grisanti legacy alive and well.
Great food! Very nice both bar and restaurant.
We were the first to arrive for lunch 8/18/22 at 10:56. the Restaurant opens at 11:00. We we informed by Ellen Grisanti ( as she stated “the owners wife”that they did no open until 11:00 and the staff would not be ready until then. I was with my elderly mother and ask if we could sit while we waited. She pointed to the closest table to us, so we sat. Three minutes later several ladies arrived and received the same lecture from Ellen. Then a minute later she came out to seat the girls and another party that had arrived. I mentioned that we were the first to arrive and she said quote “ If you are going to be like that we are going to have a lot of trouble”We left and are dining across the street at Season 52 with a lovely waitress Hannah (not the owners wife)!
Simply wonderful. Service is prompt and friendly. Lane was helpful and very attentive. The food is the best ever. I always check out the Italian restaurants when I travel. By far this is the best. Glad I chose to dine here.
Delicious and the waiting staff was very friendly!
Group dinner, private room, food and service was excellent
Its been 20 years since I was there. Absolutely loved it.
Im from Kansas City but this place really stood out and the food was delicious for southern style cooking 👍🏾
Albert gave us impeccable service and the food was really good.
Food was good and the service was great!
Absolutely special! Treated to authentic cuisine and a friendly professional staff.
I did delivery. The oysters Rockefeller and lasagna were delicious. The tiramisu was good as well. The accompanying side of spinach was a little too salty, but overall it was delicious.
Outstanding food, drinks and service. Been dining here several days a week (often back to backwhen working in the area. Two thumbs up for Grisantis.
I love their food, especially their spaghetti (you can get it with a giant meatball or italian sausage...both are deliciousand italian spinach. The food is always hot, fresh, plentiful, and delicious.
Really Nice meal celebrating with friends. Super understanding staff and Great waiter!
Sitting here now, a guest at the hotel also. Just as I figured another knock off hotel restaurant charging outrageous prices for subpar food both quantity and quality.
Haven’t been here in 2 years because of covid protocol for work travel. I came in and was pleasantly surprised to see the big guy working behind the bar (I couldn’t recall his name was Justin at firstbut the toasted ravioli are still amazing. But I must say, and I swear by it: Your bartender makes THE BEST rye Manhattan I have ever had. That was always my go to drink when coming in for work before and I was so pleased to see he was still the bartender and that it was still made just the same as before: DELICIOUS! Kudos to the Grisanti family for maintaining there business and staff through covid! Please never let that man leave your bar! Keep up the phenomenal work in a tough industry!
Ordered delivery. WHY WOULD THEY PUT THIS BURNT BLACK PIZZA IN THE BOX AND STILL SEND IT TO A CUSTOMER….. That’s when you know they absolutely couldn’t care less. Pathetic. This place used to be fantastic. What a waste. I’d love to be proven wrong with a reply to this to make it right.
Always the best. Shelby is our favorite server. She takes great pride in her work and aims to make your dining experience wonderful. Great food. Everything on the menu is excellent. Its all made in house from scratch. Wine list is top notch, also.
Excellently food!! Prices very worth it, you will not leave hungry but you will leave with leftovers for a midnight snack! If I didnt live 7 hours away definitely would have already been back!
We had an excellent lunch recently. Great service, overall a really good experience.
Ordered food for delivery. The pasta and burger were great, tasty and hot. The meatball on the spaghetti was really bad - we couldnt put our finger on why, but it tasted off, like something was wrong with the ingredients. The pizza was black on the crust and cut into tiny pieces shuffling around in too big of a box...it did not look appetizing nor did it taste good at all. Taste was not good even aside from the burnt parts, arrived cold. Garlic bread was 3 tiny pieces wrapped up in paper, again cold and underwhelming. Maybe it was an off night.
Service was spotty. 25 minutes before appetizer was served. Water not refreshed. Bacon wrapped livers were good. We each had the spaghetti and veal cutlet lunch which was a generous portion but unfortunately nothing noteworthy about it. Served with run of the mill garlic broad.
Food is top notch. Love the environment they provide, the staff is very welcoming and its the best quality good I have had anywhere. In one word to describe the food, FRESH!
This is the place to go for authentic Italian food and great service.
The halibut special was delicious and the service from Tamara was great. We also thoroughly enjoyed dessert. They have a small patio for outdoor seating, which we did not utilize.
COVID era review. All staff were properly masked. Limited seating capacity, and tables sanitized between customers.Ive reviewed Frank Grisantis before, but I never want to pass up an opportunity to boost up one of Memphiss finest eating traditions.Located in the Embassy Suites, Grisantis has been a favorite dining experience for me and my family for over twenty years. If you ever get a chance to eat here, you will be experiencing a Memphis family restaurant fixture that has endured for many, many years. The Italian cuisine is authentic family recipes that have no equal anywhere in the city, or beyond for that matter.Manicotti is the go to choice for us, featuring a blend of veal and spices in a pasta shell, covered in the unique red meat sauce. It comes with a side of spinach that is almost buttery in texture.Start your culinary excursion with famous toasted ravioli appetizer, accompanied by the above mentioned red sauce. Follow it with a Miss Marys salad, then the manicotti, or the pasta pomadoro, with delicious goat cheese, kalamata olives, tomatoes, and spinach mixed with penne pasta, to which you can add chicken or shrimp.Over the years Ive sampled everything on the menu, and I have never, ever been disappointed. The wine list is carefully selected to feature a variety of flavorful wines, my favorite being the chianti.Get some tiramisu or cheesecake for dessert. Tonight the Italian sundae was unavailable, but try it if you ever get the chance.I am glad to see Grisantis at Embassy Suites survive the COVID madness. Heres to a restaurant full of happy customers in the days to come. If they leave the table half as happy as I always do, they wont know what to do with themselves.
The food and service were amazing.
Great food. Nice Ambiance too!
Best food in the area. Always been one of my favorite hidden restaurants inside Embassy Suites Hotel. Highly recommend this place. They always have excellent service!!
Food is okay, ownership is horrible. Mrs Grisanti herself is an absolute chore to be around. Rude, entitled and disrespectful. The restaurant can only be so good if it is ran by folks like this. Take your money elsewhere to a local Memphis restaurant that loves the community and people that it serves.
The food is good, when its actually prepared. This is now the third and final time I try to get food here. I try to support restaurants and have used Uber eats and Postmates now with the same result. I place my order. They accept my order and shows its being prepared. After a 2 hour wait, they cancel my order.I didnt call and fuss when my order gets delayed. I will wait for quality. But after a two hour wait, to have the order cancelled is poor service and speaks volumes about how this place is managed. If you dont want to take the order, just refuse it. Dont cancel after someone has been waiting two hours. Give your business to a restaurant that actually wants your business and respects people who try to support them.
Last week was the 2nd time I had the pleasure of dining at Frank Grisantis in the year since relocating from the Northeast. A friend wanted comforting Italian food and was over the moon that I selected Grisantis. Food and service was impeccable and we had the luck of being seated near the owner so we got the low down on the restaurants history. just delightful
Amazing real Italian food in Memphis! This place is fabulous and a must eat if you are in Memphis. The traditional Italian dishes are excellent and if you are there when Frank and his wife are in, youll know the food is so good.
The website shows theyre open Sundays 4 to 7:30 yet theyre closed. Shame on me for driving 15 minutes to get there when they opened to place an order to discover no one was there. The hotels front desk told me they havent been open Sundays for a long time due to Covid. Thats totally fine but update your website. Update your sign in the lobby even.
Ill start by saying the service was great. We had a problem with our food not being hot enough. Our waiter immediately got on it. The manager stayed on top of it as well. The blackened chicken lasagna was AMAZING! Worth EVERY penny $$ I loved everything from the decor to the location. It is definitely worth it.
The food was very good. The mannicotti was delicious and so was our shrimp dish! The Bruno Salmon was a little disappointing after the hype. Some things were just alright, the salad, but not quite up to what i think it should be. All good resturants should have really good bread, they did not. The table side preparation of the Bananas Foster was very nice. The dtaff needed to be dressed more in keeping with the type resturant it was presenting itself to be. Atmosphere was excellent!!
The people are so friendly and helpful. They will not only take care of you but suggest what Italian dish to try. This restaurant is inside the hotel so don’t let that confuse you. The food is where I go when I am asked about good Italian food. Try the toasted ravioli. The restaurant is next to a small stream inside the hotel which is very pretty. The place is quiet and nice.
Grisantis had some of the best lasagna Ive tried. We started with the fried ravioli and its excellent with beef and cheese filling and a generous amount of sauce with grated cheese on top. The lasagna is an excellent meal with enough for almost 2 servings. Its a bed based sauce and good about of cheese to set it off. The atmosphere is different, but very nice. Its a small place in the corner of a hotel lobby. If you look up, youre seeing hotel rooms... Different, but its still a very nice atmosphere. The bar is very good. Good bourbon/whisky selection and a few beers on tap. Over all its really good and if have to recommend it
Might have been the best steak I have had at a restaurant in many years! The Old Fashioned wasn’t bad either. Service was friendly & fast. Great bar and TV’s that had football front & center. What else could you ask for?!It’s funny this place is in the Embassy Suites, but do not underestimate Grisanti’s!!
As usual, I truly enjoyed my takeout. I must say that I have not had the opportunity to dine in but it is on my husband and my "to do" list. We started patronizing at the restaurant when we were visiting a sick relative at St Francis Hospital. We fell in love with the food and the prices are affordable. The service is always great!
It was a very pleasant setting. Everyone seemed relaxed and in good spirits. The wait staff were courteous and attentive.I enjoyed Miss Marys Italian salad w/ feta cheese (prefer it over gorgonzola), toasted bread, and lobster ravioli w/ garlic butter cream sauce and mushrooms. The combination was perfect. The raviolis are very rich. I highly recommend them though.I left feeling extremely satisfied.Thank you Frank Grisantis for a wonderful dinner during my stay in Memphis.
I have only heard great things about this restaurant. However, unfortunately, I have only had poor experience here. Last night was the third time. I am not sure if they selectively give poor service and food or this is just too much of a coincidence. I made our group switch our dinner from Salsa next door to Frank Grisantis last night, but I was left disappointed with my choice. Not coming back for sure now. So much for the ratings, reviews and the hype. Olive Garden is better than this.
Just ate there Friday night. Had the Prime Rib, Wife had Shrimp Elfo. Others in the party had Blackened Red Fish and Spaghetti with Meat sauce. Server Stephanie was super sweet and attentive. We were celebrating 32 years of marriage. She even left us a sweet note on our ticket! Awesome experience. :)
We have 4 couples meet once or more month on their thursday/sunday special menu. Very good choices and good wine. You can bring your wine with no corking charge.Service always good. Also if have any allergies they can most time make changes. Nice place to eat and visit eith friends.
Went for lunch with ten friends and had a very nice time. The food is quite good and nicely presented.
This is a fantastic Italian restaurant and has been for years. I really enjoy asking to see the dinner menu during lunch, because they have so many more options. The menu is extensive and the sea food is delicious. I was surprised at how large the seared tuna was on the salad! The service is very friendly and its a lovely atmosphere.
My wife coordinated her familys annual Thanksgiving dinner for 24 guests at Frank Grisantis this year. She worked with Linda who set up our dinner in a private dining room. It was an extremely pleasant experience. It was a fixed price menu sit down meal with a couple of appetizer, entree, side and dessert choices. The food was great and the service was excellent. Brenda was our service lead and she was very attentive and responsive to all of our familys needs and requests. The family thoroughly enjoyed everything. We definitely will be visiting again in the future.
Delicious entrees, knowledgeable staff and despite being in a hotel the place has a local feel to it. Wine selection is broad but not overwhelming. Expect to pay about $15-$30 per person depending on if you have wine or not. Only had Elfos pasta and a glass of Italian red but Im looking forward to returning with a date and trying more dishes.
