Chic, contemporary Italian eatery & cocktail lounge serving classic entrees, pizza & grilled steak.
Rockford DJ and Photo Booth has had the pleasure of working with them on several occasions. Great venue and makes our top 5 for the stateline area. Food is amazing and they offer a great space for any event. We highly recommend a magic mirror photo booth to add the cherry on top with this one.
Ordered food for pick up. The order was ready when we arrived. So that was good. The food was only ok. The tiramisu was moldy. The girl pulled it from the fridge next to the carry out window. Pretty disappointing to receive a moldy item, as this is supposed to be a fine dining establishment and there should more attention to detail than this. They should also label or date items and toss after so many days.
I like Franchescos lve had the lobster bisque twice. It actually had lobster in it once. I guess Im not a risotto person ,l didnt care for it. My daughter had a filet. She just recently dined at Mortons. She said Franchescos filet was better.
Had a great first time experience here. Had dinner with my girlfriend Carmen. She had the chicken parmigiana, I tried the Delmonico steak with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. She had lobster bisque, I got to try some, we agree it was delicious. Had a buttery texture, not too fishy. I had house salad. We got house Cabernet wine by the glass. To go, she got the turtle chocolate cheesecake, I got a jumbo cannoli.
The meal was ok. The waiter lied and said my 12 oz prime rib was 26 dollars and it was 44 dollars on the bill. The girl on the phone the evening before, taking reservations, lied and said a specific band was performing on 8/19/22 the patio. We arrived and there was an excellent pianist. The “au gratin” potatoes were reconstituted hash brown shreds without any cheese. Not enough vegetables for the entree price and waiter was too pushy on soup and salad after stating they are extra cost. Overpriced! I’ll go to John’s !The only good that happened by accident was the music.
Went out for our wedding anniversary and I had a taste for standard Italian. So I went with the chicken parmesan. It did not disappoint, food was excellent and service was good. We sat outside on patio which is was really well done.
Best buffet Ive ever gone to. I was personally cut and served prime rib and the alfreso was made in front of me. They had the beat tasting salmon sushi!
Great drink options & good food.We went here for a rehearsal dinner, so we didnt get the full menu options, but we enjoyed the chicken and steak that we had. The appetizers that were laid out were phenomenal (better than the entrees imo, and thats saying something). Its a beautiful place with great staff. Benny even came into our private room to introduce himself & wish the bride & groom well.
It was great! Food was delicious! Everyone was so nice. The four of us had the best time.
Fantastic establishment. The food is amazing, the dining area is very intimate and calming, and the other side "Bennys" is more upbeat casual. They have live music inside and outside depending on the time of year. They also have great selections of beer, wine, and liquor to choose from including some locals like Pig Minds! If you like oysters, you have to try their Rockefeller, they are delicious, as everything else I personally have tried.
Good food was surprised you werent offered a soup or salad with your meal. Was a little loud in there the restaurant area was mixed in with the bar comfy seats I was just expecting more quietness.
Its a big building, and I dont know or care what was going on there on a thursday night. This place needs a reality check.Took forever to order. My chicken parm ($24was soggy as hell. I get it though, crispy chicken parm can be tough to pull off, but for 24 bucks youre setting yourself up for failure if you cant nail it. Its also easily the cheapest entree on the menu. Id be surprised if it was hand breaded and didnt come out of a bag from the freezer. The sauce was red and the noodles were cooked properly, bout the only praise I can give it. My waiters attitude when I said something was confrontational disguising as conversational. Management refused to come to my table to help, gave half off on my food even though the other two people I was with didnt finish theirs either.I gave an extra star because the baked French onion soup was passable. I also ordered 2 cocktails, the menu specifically mentioned fresh blueberries on both, they were omitted, but were tasty in spite of that.Enjoy my $137, youll never get another dime from me.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, amazing food. One of my favorite places in town. Good for any special occasion or just a great dinner with family and friends.
I attended a private event with a buffet and bar. The food was good, the drinks and service were great. Very nice room.
I bought my family a gift card here, since I’m a handful of states away. Thank you for taking great care of them. My dad is in a wheelchair after suffering a couple strokes so restaurants can be difficult and frustrating. My family loved the food and found the service great as well. Thank you for taking care of them!
Food was good, didnt like our seating. They put two tables together for a group of 5 ppl and the tables were different sizes was kind of weird. Nice atmosphere
Mothers day brunch was good service was good but kinda expected more. Not as big of a selection as I have had at other brunches. Limited drink menu was disappointing. Prime rib was very good. Unfortunately we ended with our catalytic converter stolen in the parking lot! Who would have thought? Would have been a better experience if that hadnt happened.
We went for the mothers day brunch and the food was fantastic. Plenty of options to pick from. My personal favorite was the pasta which was prepared in a cheese wheel. Absolutely delicious food and dessert.
Great service! Very clean and pretty. Enjoyed the steaks and seafood risotto and the tiramisu. Went here and shared plates to try more dishes and it was a great idea!
This restaurant doesnt need no intro. When you walk in at Franchescos, Benny will welcome you with open arms like your family to him. Amazingly beautiful restaurant that you cant take your eyes on. The food is scrumptiously awesome. Their pizza is fantastic. Stop at Franchescos. You cant go wrong.
10 out of 10. You must dine here if you’re in the Rockford area or find yourself in the surrounding area. We had a bad experience somewhere else and decided to book reservations last minute online and literally had the best experience! The service was superb, huge shout out to our waitress, Gianni!! The food was hands down the best steak around. We were even graced with the one and only Benny! His restaurant is top notch and the service is even better!
Absolutely amazing! I came through town on business and ordered ahead for pick up. I wanted to get one of my favorite dishes the Gnocchi Basilico to enjoy when I got home after a long day...it did not make it home..yum...I ate it in the parking lot and it was beyond delicious. Franchescos never disappoints!! The flavors and quality are always spot on!
My sister had her wedding and reception here, everything turned out beautiful. We were able to go in the night before and set up. The Food was amazing!
My SO had Chicken Parmesano and I had Prime Rib; however, my Prime Rib was about 1/3 fat. For $44 I would expect a better cut. The staff was excellent! We attended the comedy night afterwards that was very fun. Were puzzled about why the doors opened 20+ minutes late. It seemed very unorganized with tables and chairs being setup while we were seated. This is not the first show at Francescos, so someone dropped the ball.
Have to say service is definitely declining here...understandably they are understaffed like most places, but I came in physically for a pickup. The hostess directed me back outside and to go around the building to the window-I was unaware of this hidden area, but no one told me to do this on the phone when I placed my order. I waited for the girl to chat with another employee for five minutes before she came back and told me that it would take longer for the chicken to cook and she was going to have me pull into a spot and she would bring my food out. wanted an order ready by 6:10 and called back at 5:30 to ask them to put in the order. Its 6:30 and Im still waiting for my 6:10 order that I called for them to put it sooner. I tried using my $20 bonus cards from the $200 gift card purchases I made before Christmas and theyre telling me I cant use more than one at a time-(however I have used both at one time beforejust one more stipulation to have on these bonus cards!! I told the girl that there had been several issues with these cards and I wouldnt have placed such a big order had I known this prior to placing the order. They did understand and let me use both but for all the hassel that comes with it, not sure Ill be getting future bulk gift cards if this is what I have to deal with!
We went to celebrate a friends anniversary at the end of December and David was our server. There was about 20 of us, and he was able to do an amazing job all by himself for such a large party! We never had to wait for drinks, food, or anything!Thank you David and everyone at Francescos for making it a great night!!
Franchesco’s and their server David are amazing!! We had a large party for our 20 year anniversary and the food, the drinks, and the service were outstanding!! The whole party was super impressed and David handled everything himself. The surprise dessert platters were so special and thoughtful. ❤️
Was highly recommended by a friend and well deserved. Superior customer service. Had dinner in The Wine Room. A charming, private little eating spot right near the wine cellar! Food was excellent. Lots of great options. Scallops were fantastic; Delmonico steak - fantastic; Death by Chocolate cake - fantastic; lobster bisque - fantastic. Waiters were excellent and fun! Cant wait to come back
Outstanding restaurant with outstanding service.Chic modern decor with traditional Italian fare. Paige, our waitress, made our business dinner a top notch experience.I will become a regular!
Had dinner in the Bennys Bar area. Each member if our party had different entrees which we enjoyed. Great service. David was our waiter and was always there when needed. The owner circulated among the guests which was an added touch.
I felt a bit rushed out the door by the waitress and she gave me the bill and directed all questions to me regarding the bill even though we made it obvious that my girlfriend was paying. Ill go back as the food and atmosphere were AMAZING, but I dont think Ill be able to convince my girlfriend to go back, she was offended by the treatment.
First time went here wait was too long despite a reservation. Second time we went no wait time. Food is excellent. Table service was very good and pleasant. Food service was a little slow. Nice atmosphere esp on the more formal side with live piano music. Overall nice place for fine dining or special night out.
I Decided to get the full experience last night at Franchesco’s and chose to order a 4 course meal. From drinks to the dessert I was thoroughly satisfied. Abraham’s recommendations did not disappoint. The small group I was with thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Great atmosphere. Will be coming in again soon.
An amazing experience here at franchescos. We are from out of town and decided to stop in for Dinner. That baked French Onion is the best I’ve had! The server Abraham was polite and always checked up on us. Entres were tasty, so you definitely get what you pay for! Would come back again.
Really wonderful restaurant! All of our food was amazing, and the service was top notch! Jocelyn took great care of us. They also had live piano music which was such a nice surprise. Don’t skip dessert here!
Had a wonderful time here last night. Dinner was fantastic, the drinks were amazing and the owners were so kind. Great staff all around, I’m glad I was able to spend time with my husband and friends here!
Good brunch. Food was solid, but lacking some vibrancy and texture. Venue was very luxurious. You can tell they host weddings here.
This is a very fancy place. Everything on the menu looked great and my pasta was simply delicious! The owner came to our table and said welcome as well. Definitely recommend it!
The atmosphere is upscale and relaxing. The waiter was fast and always on top of his game when it came to bread, water, appetizers etc. The food came out in a reasonable time. The cook let us substitute shrimp in our pasta dish for chicken. The food tasted great! Only recommendation is that the chicken could be cooked for a little less time. I would have liked to sit in the dining room for my anniversary. When I made a reservation I was not aware on the phone that only the bar seating was available. No worries. Had a great time.
This restaurant is great for a nice romantic date, organic and balanced seasoned food, the layout was absolutely beautiful.
Great location for weddings large or small. Great food, prompt service, and visually beautiful.
There food, drinks and staff are always amazing! You cant beat a blue cheese stuffed steak!!!!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The hostess could not find us a booth. Owner / Manager Benny came to our table immediately after being seated, and moved us to an excellent booth. We enjoyed the meal very much. From the appetizer (Lamb Lollipopsto the Desert (Tiramisueverything was very good. The service was excellent. I would drive from Chicago to have a meal here.
We had a surprise birthday dinner for my Uncle at this establishment. I had heard nothing but good things about the place and know that it’s pretty upscale. The atmosphere was lovely. Staff was kind. Dinner was very pricey and was not at all what we expected. We ordered Parmesan Crusted chicken but got some kind of smothered chicken with gravy, mushrooms and tomatoes instead. The bread was served way later after dinner was already gone. To make matters worse my husband ordered me a Long Island Ice Tea from the bar and as I drank it I felt something on my tongue so I go to see what it was and it’s a shard of GLASS!!! I immediately brought it to the servers attention and in fact gave her the napkin with the glass on it. I am scared to think about what could’ve happened had I swallowed that. At no time did a manager come out to apologize or speak to me. I did however get offered another drink on the house and was refunded after demanding that my husband be refunded. Very disappointed in this experience.
Being a Mothers Day weekend , we made reservations. Personnel was professional • accommodating • attentive & cordial. The food was buffet ( which I personally do not ordinarily do and quite tasty/good. Covid-19 protocols were in place. However, the cost is on the pricey side...whether thats an effort to make up for lost revenue due to the Pandemic or not I cant say...and there was no senior citizens discount. The area appeared nice • we had to use GPS to find it since its not just off an Interstate • the buildings exterior and landscaping is attractive • the interior was comfortable relaxed and set up seemingly to put you in mind of a banquet hall.
Authentic pizza with amazing flavor. Tried the regular and pan crust and both were amazing in their own way. The pepperoni and italian sausage is high quality and flavorful. Ordered online and picked up oin the drive thru window and it was hot fresh and heavy, no skimping on toppings here. Just plain awesome food. Highly recommend.
I didnt know Franchesos was here. What a great experience the atmosphere was so relaxing & the interior is beautiful. The staff was incredible we will definitely be back for many more meals!! Highly recommended!
:-Very very exquisite food with amazing scenery plus staff :-Thanks for the best Valentines Day experience ever.:-from Sasha and Fabian :-)
I ate there on Thanksgiving 2018 and had a nice meal with friends/family l. The waiters were more than friendly and helpful even with picky children lol. Desert was good too and wine. Not tje cheapest place but thats because the food is great and its a classy establishment. The lighting and esp The Piano player made for a nice feel good vibe with friendly people.Be prepared to top the waiter And the lady who takes your coat some people forget that and its sort of expected and just good to do. Overall nice place to eat maybe even once a month depending on your budget.
Our dinner party of 10 ate there Saturday night. Although the food was phenomenal, the service was lacking. I told my husband that I felt as though I was at a banquet. We seldom saw our server unless it was time for the next course or she was bringing another alcholic beverage to the table. Those who only wanted water were pretty much ignored. I have had better service at McDonalds, seriously. I had to flag her down in order to send my undercooked filet back to the grill. Not until after she was clearing the dessert dishes did she ever bother to ask anyone how their meal was and only asked everyone how they liked their dessert. As I started, poor service for the price. I loved the smoked gouda cauliflower puree. It was the first time I had ever had it. I ordered key lime pie for dessert and the crust was a little too hard for a spoon. They only serve dessert spoons, not forks. Seriously? Didnt care for the berries and drizzle, as I didnt think it paired well with the key lime. They put it on every dessert that came to the table. My husband ordered the tiramisu and it was heavenly. I dont care for anything coffee flavored, but this was the best tiramisu I have ever had. Some of our party ordered the cheesecake and shared the huge portions. Reminded me of my grandmothers recipe, but without the pineapples on top. All in all the atmosphere and decore and food were excellent. The wait staff needs to be more attentinve to their dinner guests and not treat them as though they are at a wedding banquet. Photos from left to right: Lamb (special feature that night), Filet Mignon, Forbidden Miso Seabass (Forbidden Rice is black rice). After speaking with my family at Thanksgiving, I found out that the restaurant is known for poor service and a touchy chef. My sister-in-law worked in the food industry, ordered escargot, and it was full of sand. According to her, the snails were not properly prepared prior to cooking and still had sand in their shells. She complained and asked the waitress to send them back, but the chef came out and tried to tell her there was nothing wrong with them until another gentleman at their table also told the chef he was wrong. So, if you have LOTS of money to waist, good place to go. If you dont, there are many places in Rockford that are more affordable, much better service, and great food as well. I mean just last night I was eating at a different restaurant and our waitress stopped by several times checking up on us after each course and refilling our tea. THAT is service, not Franchescos banquet style wait staff. They assume with a large party of 10 that they automactically get a good tip, so they dont feel the need to work hard for it. SAD, just SAD and poor way to run a business and run off potential patrons.
