Piazza S. Vito, 67100 L'Aquila AQ, Italy, L'Aquila
13th-century fountain & city landmark where water spurts from the mouths of 99 sculpted heads.
Lovely very nice what a visit
Be careful: the stairs to reach it are quite slippery.
Long hike, but so worth it!
Cute and quite part of the city with a lot of history. The fountain seems like a great place to relax and read a book.
Bell
Very cool ancient fountain decorated with 99 faces likely of city residents at the time. An ancient Roman artifact in the heart of LAquila.
Awful! Not worthwhile going there. Nothing interesting. Simply dirty fountains
You can not come to LAquila and not see the 99 fountains
At the bottom of the town this fountain requires either a steep climb down or a steep climb back up.A unique structure which draws the tourists.
Amazing fountain. Its actually a square surrounded by spouts and a stone basin. To see.
Amazing experience. Every taste water
Amazing place....
Nice place
Super
Must see
Medieval setting
Did not gave us any special feeling, many fountains next to each other without particular decoration.
a great piece of art totally restored. the building outside remind you of the 2009 earthquake
Beautifully preserved water fountain, it is an icon of the city of LAquila. It is located right next to the Abruzzo MUNDA Museum, so you can visit that after visit this place. It is nice and spacious, and not may people visit it at the same time, so it is great for social distancing.

Interesting 99 spout fountain. A nice hotel/restaurant next door, worth popping into.
A special Place
Real amazing
Wow, this place has a slightly eerie vibe, ya know with 99 heads staring at you while constantly vomiting water is a good starter pack. However its is pretty flippin cool. Each head is unique, the tiling is a th g of beauty and at night( for those who have decent cameras or at dusk it becomes a very nice picture spot. Be aware of the long tourist wagon thing, it comes around and suddenly there are 30 people at the place. They usually stay for about 15 to 30 mins. Love this place, although its a bit eerie, there is also a romantic atmosphere. Over all very nice bit of history, very clean, would recommend.
A delightful intimate restaurant run by a kind young couple. Generous
A great place to visit and to keep always with you
Beutifull fountaines ❤️⛲️
bello
Its a very good place.. But it needs to be more interesting
Beautifull!
A bit hard to get to with the local construction, but very interesting.
A part of Aquila not damaged by the quake and of historical interest.
One more peace of art. It seems like going back in time when we visit this part of the city I believe it is set at one of the lowest spot of the entire city.. Not to far from the train station.
Belllllllllllllissssssssima
The history is interesting but the place is not that much interesting place.
Really glad I got to see it, its certainly interesting. As mentioned in other reviews though, its a bit of pain to get to on foot from the centre. Some information on the history would be nice but I know LAquila has more important things to concentrate on right now.
It is one of the main landmarks of LAquila. This monument has the shape of a square with 99 little fountains around the border. It is located at the beginning of Via Borgo Rivera, close to Porta Rivera. In front of this fountain, there are the church of San Vito Alla Rivera, and the museum MUNDA.
A very nice place
Beautiful medieval fountain on a little square. It is a symbol of LAquila city. The sound of the water feels refreshing in the hot summer days.
Very beautiful fountain with refreshing 7 degree water where you can cool off your feet!

Beautiful spot to visit
At one time long, long ago this was the center of so much activity in LAquila. The year was 1272 when this fontana was built. The 99 fountain heads (actually 93 with 6 spoutsare said to represent the 99 villages/castles that make/made up LAquila. Each has a different face/head. Each is a water spout. LAquila is known for their fresh mountain waters. The Fontana is also close to the Arno River. Those waters flow to Fontana Delle 99 Cannalle. When it was built people would get fresh drinking water. This was also designed for daily life activities, such as washing clothes. The large square allowed for many crafts and activities using the water. Its amazing this has survived several earthquakes over the centuries. The mid evil church San Vito is positioned across from the fountain square.
Really unique!
Great place recommended
A little jewel in a city still wounded by the recent earthquake
Nica fountain in LAquila. The first monument in the city.
Unique place
This is one of the main historical attractions in LAquila. It is definitely worth a look, though its distance from downtown makes it a little difficult to reach on foot unless youre starting from the train station. We were advised against drinking the water.
Very nice, although not much to see around it. Some info there would be nice.
