Fossá - Tourist attraction in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands
Picturesque waterfall and it’s a plus point if you can also hike to see it from the top.It has a lot more volume during the peak months, but even so it was beautiful when my family and I visited.
Lovely waterfallAte lunch on provided picnic tableOnly negative is no signals to day waterfall 100 ntrs ahead you are upon it before you have time to pull into parking area.
Nothing like a waterfall in Iceland, but still very pretty.
Beautiful nature force. Easy to get to by car as the waterfall is directly at the road. You absolutely must see the seckond level of the fall. Its totally worth the walk up. Here you can get behind the water without getting soaked. Its awsomeThere is a small climb on the way up but nothing difficult. It takes like 15 minutes to get to level 2.The path up is on the right side of the waterfall.Enjoy!
Parking along the road for around 6-7 cars. One of the nicer waterfalls on the island. Tallest one around at around 130 meters. Can get quite muddy and slippery when it rains so need to be careful if you decide to climb towards the waterfall. Can get near the back of the waterfall if you climb all the way in.
"Fossá" in the Faroese language means "river with waterfalls", and there are several streams in Faroe Island with such a name. The waterfall is located near the village of Haldarsvík in the Sunda Kommuna municipality. It goes cascading 140 metres down to the sea in two stages. We had a good day for walking, and the rocks up to the viewing platform were dry. It takes no more than two-three minutes to reach the platform but the footpath is treacherous in places, so care should be taken. The view from the platform was wonderful, the power of the fall really impressive at such short distance.
Beautiful waterfall. But not a must see if you are out of time. Its a nice stop on the way to gjogv which is a must see.
Super great place
Nice place to visit.
Waterfall with hike (not sure how long, we didnt take it)
Great waterfall with ample parking! You can hike up to the first set of falls but not sure how to get higher.
Just by the road as you travel north. Theres free parking and a little picnic bench right before the falls. You can climb up close to the falls. Its also a good spot to fly your drone out.The double falls are easier to spot at the picnic bench than up close.
Its a nice waterfall but the parking area is quite small and narrow. You have a trail up real close to the waterfall
Worth to visit. Easy to park.
Even more beautiful from the other side of the water. Otherwise, you’ll be too close to see the entire waterfall. You can go all the way app to the first level to take a nice picture. There is a platform and a place very close by to park.
Easy access to this beautiful waterfall.
Double waterfall with a picnic table right next to it, with a small parking spot.Views are better from the other Island right in front.
Well, we were there when there was almost no water so it was actually one of the most boring places :There is a hike up the waterfall but we decided not to go there. Also parking could be a little difficult if there are many tourists since it is just a wider road
Beautiful double waterfall with a high (~250ft x2drop
Big waterfall woth two levels. Getting up to the first plateau is possible with some climbing, and the view from there is incredible. Leave a treasure behind the waterfall. Parking is easy and close.
A nice wee spot to check out when youre passing by. Its just by the road, so no facilities here. Theres a nice picnic table there. Its just a waterfall really.
A sight not to be missed, and extremely accessable. A fantastic spot for photos with your love.
One of the larger waterfalls on the Faroer Islands offering a nice photo opportunity. Its located right next to one of the larger roads, so is easy to reach.
Highest waterfall on Faroe Islands. You can park the car a little further from the waterfall.
Amazing spot. No parking nor facilities nearby. Worth the stop.
In the middle of nowhere lies an awesome waterfall, coming directly from the middle of the sky. The green hills with the rich variety of wild flowers around it are beautiful, the water is super cold and the sheep nearby are cute and shy. Definitely worth the ride!
Very easy to get to, right on the road, beautiful waterfall near the sea, great views all around.Theres a pretty comfortable small walk you can take to get to a higher ground. Definitely worth to visit along the way.
Nice double waterfall. You can go behind the upper one.
Absolutely phenomenal waterfall on the Island of Streymoy. It‘s size can vary a lot dependent on rainfall and snow, that‘s why I only got to see it so small. The trails are not so well marked and it‘s easy to slip and fall, so wear propper hiking boots and take caution.
Waterfall is ok. But actually there are more beautiful ones here like in Saksun.
A very nice double waterfall. You can hike up and around it too.
Nice waterfall to see but only if you are already going to tjornuvik. Otherwise not worth the detour I think.
Would be a view if we hiked higher or from a drone footage.
The highest waterfall of the faroe island. Follow the little trail to the top if uou like to shot nice picture
Very nice waterfall, its unbelievable when its rainy. You can enjoy it and going under it too.
This is nearby view which cannot seen the complete flow of the falls...!! U can stop by and click pictures for few mins and continue your drive..!! For full view you have to take another parallel road. . Cheers!!
From another island it is look better.
Would recommend to see if you are visiting Faroe. Check it out!
A beautiful scenic place between two other Faroe pearls - Goegv and Elduvik. Really fascinating destination in the North Atlantic.
Exceptional natural sight, double terraced waterfall is truly unique
One of the most spectacular on Faroes, it is better to observe it from the dostance to see all of its sections. Easy acces as it is by the road
It was easy to miss along the road. There is a small layby just past the fall. It us possible to walk up to the top of the falls but the path was not so obvious. Maybe because it was spring time. Well worth a stop though.
You can climb to the top of the falls. The path to go up is about 150 meters north of the falls. Takes about an hour and is very steep at some points but definitely worth it !!!!
A beautiful waterfall just by the road to tjornuvik.Just be careful when you try to climb it. It is very slippery 😋😋
Cool place! There is a pull off close by that can fit a few cars, with a trail map. The trail is a bit hard to follow, and we didnt want to trample any grass, so we just hopped up to the falls and explored. Beautiful!
Beautiful multitiered waterfall just minutes from the main highway. The map at the small parking area shows a small trail but it is very difficult to find. Watch for mud and very wet grass. Friendly sheep are there to greet you.
Beautiful waterful, especially after recent rainfall.
Looks good. Not much water flowing during the visit but it was still decent.
Beautiful multi-tiered waterfalls, especially after a big rain storm. Easy parking and hiking paths to several levels of the falls.
Beautiful waterfall right along side the road. Hard to miss. Theres a picnic table thatd be nice in better weather
