One of my favorite museums in Romania!One can see history of Moldova in details!

Absolutely worth a visit, especially at sunset. Lots of history here in this beautiful castle, right in the heart of Suceava!

Looks pretty nice from outside , the thing is i stayed there from 23th december til 2nd and it was closed all this time for public, too bad cuz many people wanted to go in as well... and i think an improvement to the restaurants next to the fortress is required ..

I have been here right before the final restoration, years ago. Upon my return in Sept 2022 I was simply amazed by what I have found.A fun, entertaining, engaging and especially educational place.I recommend to absolutely all tourists to stop by, romanians or non romanians.This place deserves more promotion!

The building itself has been renovated amazingly well. They left a white line all around so that people can see what remained of the old citadel as well as what was reconstructed.I want to mention how amazing it was to walk in and see so many projections and interactive media around. It was honestly nothing but a joy to walk around and explore!

We had the privilege of walking into a beautiful medieval setting but with a twist: They were hosting a play (theaterwith the amazing Maia Morgenstern (no extra charge)

The fortress has been restored and is on good shape. The price is ok. There are many rooms to visit inside plus views over the city. The small plays with re-enacters make the experience better. Do not miss the halls and exhibitions in the lower levels.

Magnificent place, restored fortress of Stefan cel Mare. Payed entrence very well worth paying. You got shows as well if you like more entertaining stuff.

Except for an incident with a very low doorway, I was very impressed by the "new" fortress. The technology makes it equally interesting for children and adults. Very intelligent (and "smart"restoration.

Highly recommended, it is wonderfully restored and history comes alive in the most sophisticated way. If you are looking to entertain the family for an afternoon its the perfect venue. You can then treat yourself to delicious food, cold drinks and absolutely fabulous service by visiting Ceaunul Razesului restaurant 😀 😊 😋

Recently reconditioned, well maintained and of significant importance. Its worth visiting it, especially since the ticket is inexpensive

Excellent sightseeing attraction, offers great views at any time of the day, very well kept and curated, was great fun for both the parents and the 3 year old. Careful with getting there. We took the forest trail from McDonalds and I do not recommend it if its muddy and you do not have the appropriate shoes for it. The prices for the fortress are very low, there a place to eat at the ticket house, and the whole thing takes around 1-2 hours to visit.

Very nice place to visit with children, cosy, spectacular and well organized, with resting spots, green area and quietness - if not crowded. Cute, recommended indeed! Do not go in full season, i lowered star.

Delight! A place worthy of visiting. The Fortress of Suceava is a 14th-century fortification! It was destroyed in the 17th century and restored in the 20th and 21st centuries. The white stripe on the fortress walls is to distinguish the restoration works from the original that remained intact. Today you can see the fortress almost the same as it was five centuries ago - with a drawbridge, a paved courtyard, a chapel and even a bathhouse. Each hall is decorated thematically and shows different aspects of the life of that time. The interactivity brings some kind of mystical feeling of immersion ... The observation decks offer a beautiful view of the city of Suceava.The child was impressed and did not want to leave. I want to return.

The historical village nearby is much nicer. The English translations in the castle are basic and the rooms are ok at best

Cetatea de Scaun The seat of Suceava, with its first historical attestation in 1476, is a living piece of Romanian history. It is a perfect place to bring children if you want them to see and learn history. The fortress is newly renovated and equipped with technology to help you better understand the history of this place.

If you are in Suceava - visit this citadel for sure.Magnificent and impressive, a real stronghold with splendid veiws on the city,.

Be sure to visit the village too. 20 Lei for an adult for the village and fortress is an immense value. It is super interesting and fun to explore both areas.

Its a place full of history, its beautiful, it is comfortable to visit, all ages would be interested to visit the citadel and find out about the 15th century history

Fully restored this Castle is a must see in Romania. Why? It was never defeated!

Magnificent historical castle. Everyone should visit and give respect this 500 years old history. Also, the statue of Stefan Cel Mare is phenomenal. Highly recommended

The fortress of Suceava ia the most important touristic place in the city centre. Its an historical monument worthwhile visiting. Well organised and modernised, interactive for the kids and an easy way to learn more about our history.There are two ways of getting there, you can either parked in the city centre under park area and walk through the forest all the way till you get to the fortress, or you can drive directly to the fortress and park there ( free parking lot).During the summer, in august theres the Medieval Festival where people from all over the country gather together and put together a lot of activities and acts for a whole week ( definitely check it out)Also nearby is the Village Museum that represents how the houses used to look like and how people used to live.

Theyve done a good job revamping the old fortress and even making the attempt to organize a museum inside with mixed results in my opinion.Be sure to come here with good shoes, you will have to walk up a hill a considerable amount of steps, take a path that can be quite muddy depending on the weather and when you reach the fortress itself there are a few stairs to climb as wellThe ticket is cheap for what is offered, be sure to take the combo including the visit to the Village Museum which is just en route to the citadelAmong the highlights are the pictures you can take of the nearby area. The museum features text in both English and Romanian so foreigners interested in history have a chance to explore the past of Moldova

Excellent job to restore some of the old glimps in this medieval city! I loved to see the sunset while being in the castle and the night lights! Good tour for kids too, plenty of holograms and explanations.

That was my first time experience about any kind of European Fort. I was there in 2014 for attend the opening ceremony of 8th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics. All off my past experience on Indian and Bangladeshi castle. First sight i noticed that the Structural design between European and Indian Fortress are totally different.Around the Fortress natural environment is pleasant. It is another part of Romanian history. Shows videos and displays through out the fortress. My freind and I went there when it snowing and blowing but we spent about an hour seeing most of the fortress. Its worth seeing.

Big nice fortress. Fantastic view from walls on the city. Interesting interactive exposition inside - armour, weapon, some furniture, historical information. Beautiful courtyard, nice illumination in the dark. Was interesting to adults and to kids the same.Price for adult 16 Ron for kids 4 Ron. Free parking and toilets.!!!!!Just cash in Ron.

Opened until 10pm, last ticket released at 9pm. Lovely night views, fewer tourist, nicer atmosphere. Very good reconstruction and presentation. Many rooms to visit with good and extensive explanations.

Worth visiting if you pass through Suceava and think about visiting the city. The fortress is well kept and clean. I have enjoyed learning about it, being built around 1400s and still standing. They have you go in these little rooms where a video is playing about the history of it. They have canons at the top facing out and lots and lots of stairs.

Not my cup of tea for visiting but it looks like an ok place. Twelve lei (£2.20to enter with concessions for pensioners and children. If you plan to visit the Old Village Museum as well you can get a better deal on both places together.

The fortress is very well kept and clean. I recommend visiting early in the mornings as its not so busy. The location is not wheelchair accesible and you have to do stairs and moderate activity.

I do believe its the nicest fortress Ive ever visited in Romania. Not necessarily because of its looks, but because of the inspiration the people who renovated it had. Youre entering a piece of history only to be presented to you verbally by the people who lived and worked in it since 1500 projected on the wall.

You can spend at least 2 hours, sightseeing, enjoying the scenery, the holograms, its a piece of history revived with technology.Old reproduced scenes, with real dummys as human beings. You can see almost all the city. Take great photos here. Nice place to chill and just enjoy.

Very nice place, from a historical point of view, medieval fortress made by Petru Musat, at the end of the 14th century, fortified by Stefan cel Mare in the 15th century.

Responsibility of the City Hall is making us so happy to see the results of their carrying about this treasure of Romanians.We thought that is not so much inside the walls of the fortress, but when we entered we saw the real investments that ware made here...A performante projector on the walls of the rooms which created live characters...All this in change of 12 lei/ person.Is warted to be visited.
