Acclaimed attraction housing 7,000 animals in themed habitats, plus interactive activities & camps.
We went here on a weekday in November so it was a little cold. The guy in the booth to the parking lot asked us if we still wanted to go in even if some of the animals might be inside because of the cold, which was a nice gesture. We went anyways and didnt regret our decision. The zoo is middle sized and it took us about 3½h to do and see everything without eating. A couple of attraction were closed like the stingray cave due to the weather. There are a lot of different animals and the enclosures where usually set up in a way that the visitors get a good look. Sadly some exclosure like for the mountain lion or the coyotes seemed very small and there were no hiding spots for the animals. Also at some enclosures I wish there was more information about the animals, like at the indoor gorilla one. In other zoos I have also seen them providing boards with a picture of the animals and some facts like name and date and place of birth. I think this would be a great addition here, especially for the primates, elephants and hippos. The Mola is a great exhibt and you can spend a lot of time there trying to spot all the snakes, lizards and other animals.I really like the Elefant enclosure and the hall of wonders exhibit about Texas.Generally I wouldnt mind coming back here in the a warmer month to see more animals, I totally recommend this zoo.
Always impressed with the cleanliness and habitat presentation here at the Fort Worth Zoo. The cool weather has all the animals out and and active, enhancing the experience.Plenty of ramps to keep all areas accessible. Bathrooms well located for convenience. Several snack and small eateries to get you through the experience. Can’t wait to come back when the construction is completed on the back row. Looks like it will be amazing.Train is always popular.
Lots of construction going on, but we still had a great time. An employee inside MOLA took the time to let my kids pet a snake and answered all their questions. The hippos 🦛 were our favorite part. Can’t wait to come back in 2023 and see the new exhibits.
Autumn is a wonderful time of year to come to this place! It was nice and cool and the animals seem to be having a great time as well. We thought you guys would like these photos! Everyone turned out so beautiful. This is an awesome zoo and I would definitely come here again. The staff is also very nice so thank you for everything.
We went early on Sunday before big crowds came. It was nice, but they are doing renovation and some of the exhibits are closed. But still a nice visit
We are zoo members and we truly adore the Fort Worth Zoo! Becoming a member is easy and if you are local, it’s the way to go. You also don’t pay for parking if you are a member.
Broad range of animals from Savannah to Texas natives. Great little kids play area up at the Texas section. Good amphibian and reptile house, kids enjoyed playing spot the snake or frog. Food on offer was basic but good places to enjoy your own picnic if you packed one. Little train ride was also popular with the kids.
Great place to go with either family, kids, friends, or couples. Lots of places to go and a couple new exhibits that opened up. While yes all parks charge quite some amount for food and drinks I would certainly bring some of my own. Parrot feeding is always fun. Very kid friendly. If you’re up for a challenge, head to the reptiles and insects and slither your way by the glass boxes as they watch you. Staff are great. That’s it
Very nice zoo. Lots of shade. Just wish it was a circle so you didnt have to back track on a couple of routes. But thats my only complaint. We had a very nice time!
I loved this Zoo, we’ve been in many zoos, but this was awesome, I loved how they built all the places for the animals. Would love to visit again.
Came here on a Saturday around 3pm. Parking was $5 just right outside the main entrance and there were plenty of spots. Tickets that day were $18 for adult at the gate, and $17 if you buy it online. This zoo was pretty nice and was extremely family friendly. There were attractions for kids and adults so its suitable for all age groups. A good variety of animals at this zoo. They had a petting zoo which was fun. I enjoyed the giraffes the most even though I did not get a chance to feed them. I enjoyed my time here.
The splash pad area here is so nice, our family had a birthday party here at the zoo and it was pretty awesome. First we used the splash pad and then we spent the rest of the day at the zoo. All around great day.
Fort Worth zoo is the biggest zoo in Texas! We always enjoy visiting this zoo! However, keep in mind that things have changed due to the pandemic. The zoo has several construction zones and various animals were no longer around to see. Some food places like ice cream, and food court were closed, and some small stores barely had anything for purchase! Food to feed giraffes and parrots also slight price increase. Overall a great zoo!Speaking of prices:$18 ticket per adult,$5 parking. $14 per child.Buy tickets online if you want to save $1 off per ticket.(OnlyWednesdays are half the price:Adult $10-$1 off discount if buying onlineChild $8-$1 off discount if buying online$5 parking
There is currently many new exhibits being built, therefore a lot of construction. But it didnt seem to effect the animals and certainly didnt put a damper on my enjoyment of the park.It was very spacious and beautiful in many areas of the zoo. The animals seemed generally pretty happy, especially in the African Savanna.Id like to return when they complete the new exhibits next year.
Time of day can impact if animals are out due to Texas heat so try to arrive early. They have 9am summer hours so check the website in advance to confirm times. The new Savannah Reserve Area is fantastic! Really enjoyed the bright colored fish in the Hippo exhibit and appreciate the pockets of shade all over the zoo. A treasure to have in Fort Worth! Really looking forward to the new construction as every improvement just gets better and better.
Amazing experience! This zoo has many birds and reptilesDef worth the money.Right now they are remodeling. 2023 Everything should be done.🙏💯
Its been a few years since weve gone to the zoo. Oh my goodness, the renovations are amazing! Everywhere we went was shaded and the animals had a large water feature for them to play in.These changes made our zoo trip enjoyable even on a triple digit day in the Texas heat.Well done and thank you for a great experience today.
The zoo was clean and wasnt over crowded, when we were there most of the bird species were away do to illness prevention as claimed. I thought the zoo was on the smaller size as far as zoos go, but did have an exceptional amount of wildlife. The giraffes being so close was a nice attraction and also they had elephants very close with interactive exhibits. The zoo was all in all quality and I saw was growing
We visited the zoo during a heavy construction time so hopefully they make better habitats for the animals. Some of their enclosures are very small.
Great collection of animals. They just had baby elephant 🐘 (Brazosborn. Its absolutely delight to watch him play in water with his parents. Cant wait for their expansion/edition of big cats (apparently 2023!).
So for a zoo where it is so hot this place has it figured out. Plenty of trees and areas to get out of the sun (indoor exhibitsand the lay out flows for the most part. Looks like they at this time are under construction and are planning to bring in/back more animals once the exhibits are finished.Only down side to this is I feel with the heat earlier hours would be nice or maybe like later to take advantage of the cooler temps in the evenings.
we spent a good 3 hours here to see all the animals and exhibits. We didnt get to see the big cats like tigers or lion because their exhibit was closed down from construction. It looks like they will be finished in December 2022. So much has changed since we were here as kids. It was a great time!
So much to explore! We spent about 3 hours there.Such a fun place to visit and so many animals to see
I love this zoo. Ive been coming here for 55 years and there always seems to be something different every time Im here. The first time we were here this year was an unpleasant experience, half the exhibits were closed as well as half the restaurants. Plus there really is a lot of construction going on.However, we went back this morning at 9, on a Monday, which I recommend for membership holders. There was no line to get in, there was free water and an orange, the animals were out eating and being active. We got a lot of good pictures. It appears the birds are back on exhibit. And there still is a lot of construction going on however the progress theyre making is very rapid. All the exhibits are top-notch. And those didnt look up to their standards are being improved. Even during the hot summer, if you go on membership Mondays, the shade of the trees and the wind are enough to keep you cool for the most part. Also worth mentioning, the train and Carousel are free on Mondays all day to membership holders as well.
Amazing Zoo Experience! Entry is so easy, the associates are helpful and friendly, the zoo is so clean and big enough for an all day adventure with so much to do well have to come back over and over to see the entire park!
Had a great time at the zoo. Some of the animals were sleeping due to the heat. One advice would be to bring your own water bottles if you’re visiting in summer.
Weather was perfect and in the 60s. Had a great time with the family and there is plenty to do and see. New large additions coming in 2023. Will be back.
Truly one of top three zoos in the US.Things are much spacing out and the animals seem freer. We enjoy the layout and the exhibits as well the variety of the animals. The wooden walk board is such a treat.Even though some part of the zoom are under construction, we thought it was really worth the visit and looked forward to coming back when they finish their projects. One cool thing that they give us discount for tickets since have membership from Dallas zoo.Our kids now keep talking about coming back for a visit.
First ever visit to this zoo and I was not disappointed. It was not only great to see and learn about the animals but the animals were active as well which is always fun to experience. They have a ton of great exhibits and this is a place that youll want to spend some time rather than rushing through. As someone from out of town I would certainly come back!
Loved our trip to the zoo this week! A bit of construction going on so we will definitely return 2023 for reopening. Most of the animals they did have were hiding or far off in the distance. Kind of hard to see them. The splash pad they opened was an awesome way to cool down before we headed home. Although, the lifeguards could do better at watching the water for our little ones getting off the slides we enjoyed ever minute. Kids didnt want to leave. We brought our wagon & packed lunches. Great way to get the kids out of the house to learn & engage. Thank you FW!
Compared to the San Antonio Zoo, you can tell that they actually truly care about the animals and the scenery here. Once the construction is done, it will be even more beautiful for the public. To all of the people complaining about the parking, you do realize you will even have to walk within the zoo as well. IT IS A ZOO! School field trips, etc etc happens. Get over it.
Was an amazing experience at the Fort Worth Zoo! Went with my mom and my sister and we had so much fun. Theres lots to explore and so much to see even though some of the exhibits were closed due to expanding some of the habitats. We went on a Saturday during nice weather and it was crowded. We rode the train and went to the Stingray area. Saw all the animals that were out and all three of us enjoyed the experience. We will be going back when the other animals are back and would recommend you go enjoy the experience. Before we left we all got cute animal plushies and a back for them to commemorate our time we spent there at the zoo.
We love the zoo. Expect some exhibits to be closed for remodeling. Adults $18 per person. Discount for seniors. 3 and under free.
Amazing place in the heart of Fort Worth! Love the Giraffe exhibit where you can feed the giraffes!! Cant wait to see the new savannah exhibit they are currently building. Also love the iguana they decorate for holidays!
Fort Worth Zoo it’s amazing ! With all the renovations and expansion they doing plus the updates it’s looking beautiful! The Zoo was so packed out on Wednesday spring break week, to mention half off price tickets. The most fun part getting out with the kids and seeing the joy was unforgettable!
It was a fun day at the zoo. Plenty of space to see the animals and shade to just enjoy the atmosphere. We went when there was construction, they are building a big cat area. Cant wait to see that!
This was an awesome experience during spring break!! The animals were awake and active.. a very entertaining experience the animals were not lazy 🦥 the only dull moment unfortunately was leaving out 👋
This is our favorite place to visit as a family! Our two year old loves visiting the zoo and seeing the animals. The zoo is clean and affordable. Great day activity!
MUST DO in Fort Worth! This zoo has so many amazing enclosures and they offer a very diverse range of animals from all over the world! The greatest flex about this zoo is that you can feed the giraffes 🦒 so you are up close and personal with these beautiful animals- they currently are going through renovations on certain areas, but it’s well worth the money you spend here! I visited with my family and was a wise decision to visit this beautiful Texas landmark ❤️
Theres a lot of beauty and a lot to last about mammals, birds, aquatic life, and more. The wild West section is so fun. I loved the flamingos who are there to greet you at the entrance. Ibex are fun to watch scale mountains. Giraffe, leopard, rhino, ostrich, elephant. There are a couple of spots to enjoy air condition and eat.
A great experience and well worth the visit! Some of the exhibits were closed due to construction, but that only means the zoo is going to be better in 2023. Buy your tickets online to save time and parking was 5 bucks. A great way to spend an afternoon!
Our first visit. Friday 1-14-22. The weather was perfect. We absolutely love this place and all the wonderful animals!
Great experience here at the zoo. Was a bit crowded due to half Price Wednesday but still overall a good day. Was able to see the baby elephant, Brazos, and plenty of birds, alligators and snakes. We will be back for sure, but will probably wait until the construction on the Africa section is done.
Great zoo with soooo many exhibits.. the kids had an awesome time. The staff have done an amazing job in keeping the place clean and less smelly, compared to other similar sizes zoos. This is the first zoo where I have seen a rhinoceros with its tusks.. the giraffe feeding experience is a must do activity, which the kids love the up close experience ... the hippo with the colorful fishes is a must see attraction as well.
Nice and well organized I really think that its going to be great when they get the additional areas finished next year. What I really like is the childrens interactive center which contain the porthole for multi-level climbing and then a rope bridge across leading to a spiral slide at the bottom that seemed like a lot of fun for the kids. When you go to the safari area you have giraffes and other animals and an open area and they also sell lettuce leaves that you can actually feed the giraffes and interact with which is really a great thing also.
We took a 45 minute drive to the Fort Worth Zoo and spent the whole day there! The layout was easy to walk, there were plenty of restrooms and refreshment stops. The animals were breath taking and the memories made were sealed deep into our spirit. We will for sure return.
Wow. Having been to the Dallas Zoo just the previous month all I can say is wow.I dont want to do a comparison between the two, as they are different, and they each have some very different types of animals. However, I was very much impressed with this zoo.Its very big, so dont think youll be done in a few hours, if you can spend the whole day there, do it! You will not run out of things to do, and things to see.The architect and design was very well thought out and they did a great job at it. Everything seems to have been designed with a purpose.Great variety of animals. Very clean. Affordable.I 100% suggest visiting the Fort Worth Zoo and bringing the whole family!
One of the most well maintained and interesting zoos. I love how green and well shaded the place is.Exhibits were definitely more interesting than other zoos Ive been too with some have some running water. Highlight animals for me were the mountain lions, coyotes, red wolf, hippo, and some of the monkeys.Theres a good variety of animals here and I saw some Ive never seen. Lots of information and trivia plaques talking about the animals. I feel like you can learn so much here.
My first time visiting this zoo, and thought it was nice, but definitely not the best zoo in the nation. We went on a Friday, so it was a little crowded and tons of school kids were there. Parking was a long way out because we arrived about 10:00am. They do charge $5 for parking and admission was $32 for two and a toddler, and the train tickets were $4 for adults. The exhibits were nice, and it looks like they are expanding or remodeling. There are definitely a lot of bird exhibits! There are shops and restaurants inside the zoo, but we only stopped for a snowcone at one of the vendors. The train was not a sightseeing train through the zoo, it only took you from the back of the Zoo to the front…which is well worth it if you have a little one with you. I’d like to go back once all of the work they are doing is complete. It took about 2 hours for us to get through but we didn’t explore all of the bird exhibits.
We really enjoyed our first visit to this zoo! Exhibits have tons of nature and they are all very well taken care of. It is very easy to walk through it. My 3 kids under the age of 6 were able to see plenty of animals. There are access ramps throughout the whole zoo and all doors have automatic open systems. They offer several shows for kids at different times during the day. There is also a little petting zoo area. The zoo gets pretty crowded though, so the earlier you get there the better. I wish you could see more animals from the train ride (a bit pricey). Parking is $5 and on Wednesdays prices are cheaper!
