I had a good time with familly . Amazing historical relegious place to be visited , with a very nice looking christian church , the yard is clean and quite , and located in the high of Oran , which offers you a extremly breath taking view for Oran city , you can see many buildings and tours and also the antiq porte of Oran , the missed thing is faming the place , this kind of places ought to be worldwide known , the tourism sector is not alive at all in Algeria , authorities must take care of tourism and give such a nice image for Algeria "El Jazayr" .

They close at 6 pm , many people love to visit it , but they only can take pictures , no more things to do.

By the time i reached the top i was too exhausted to take pictures besides there were so many people. Maybe try going there very early bfr 9 AM

The fort itself is currently inaccessible to the public but the view is well-worth the visit. A must-see if youre ik the area.

Very good place for tourism , especially with its historical palace , i give it 4stars , it would be 5 if there is like little commercial stations for water , coffee , sweets , souvenirs ...etc .

When in Wahran, you have to visit the Santa Cruz. Beautiful location though it needs a bit more maintenance and care. Wahran dima fel gelb❤️.

The views are amazing, but I wish it was a mosque rather then a church as we are a Muslim country

Pictures speak for themselves I suppose. The view from up here is phenomenal and makes an amazing background for your selfies 😉 Definitely dont miss paying a visit to this fort if youre visiting Oran. Only thing is there is no bus to come up here. We used heetch service and had to pay 280DZD from place 1er November to the fort and another 280DZD to be dropped back at the same location.

So beautiful, you can not go to Oran without visiting Santa Cruz. When people say Oran we directly think about Santa Cruz a part of Algerian History. I appreciate this place.It is a Good place to visit and take some memories.

Such great history to relive and see for real an old Fort! Even in the mist it was wonderful! It would be amazing if the Fort can be completely restored. I loved it. Worth the time at about 80DZD.

One of the famous monuments in oran and Algeria, it was nice trip the view is wonderful I really enjoyed this trip I recommend you to visit this historical place, Definitely a must see when in Oran , beautiful, with a city and sea view, constructed in the 16th century.

the Fort of Santa Cruz on the heights of Oran is one of the three forts ot the city. It was built around 1577 by the spaniards above the gulf of of Oranin the Mediterranean sea. there is a small chapel that stands close to the fort with a huge Virgin Mary statue. the fort is 400 metres above the sea level, you can see Mers-El-Kebir from there, the view is breathtaking. your walking shoes and camera are required. the visit will take you around two hours to go up the hill and down, explore the fort and visit the chapel. If chapel closed, knock on the door and insist.

Fort Santa Cruz is one of the three forts in Oran, the second largest port city of Algeria; the other two forts are Fort de la Moune at the western end of the port and Fort Saint-Philippe, a replacement of the old castle of the Saints known in Spanish as Castillo de los Santos, at the centre of Oran. The three forts are connected by tunnels. Fort Santa Cruz was built between 1577 and 1604 by the Spaniards on the Pic d’Aidour above Gulf of Oran in the Mediterranean Sea, at an elevation of above 400 metres (1,312 ft). In 1831, the French occupied Oran and the fort.

I went there on Friday and the place was awesome and the nature wonderful. We found some visitors (most of them are familieswere taking pictures or just taking a break to see and enjoy the vue of oran city. The church was clean and calme. The air was refreshing even in summer and the is secured . The only negative points in this place were:1- no place to park the vehicule the only parking is explored by a person who abused to paie 200 da even for 15 min2- no souvenir shopsThe place is highly recommanded 😍😍😍😍

I used to come here to my grandparents home it was just a few meters away. you can watch all the city of Oran around you right from this spot and its absolutely a great view and worth visiting.

Really nice place to see oran, but dont go afternoon due to safety issues. You can take taxi from city centre (place darmeand tell him to wait for you otherwise it is really hard to find taxi to go back (it will cost around 3000 DA)

For commandeering views of Oran, its bay and the environs, the hike is so worth it. It takes about 90 minutes to hike up and about an hour to climb down to/from Casbah. Try going early morning when it’s cool.
