It is a very old fort built between 1000 and 800 BC by Katoch dynasty. Later on most of the fort was destroyed by the British. It was situated on the banks of Ravi river on the other side of the city of Multan.

Fort Qasim is a perfect Historical place in Multan. According to some estimates the original fort was built between 800 and 1000 B.C.it is surrounded by sufi shrine Shah Rukne Alam it also have a Museum in which multan history written.

Multan Fort was old more then 1000Bc. Also a military installations was a land mark of Multan kingdom, after the Multan kingdom fort was in the custody of Delhi empire, Multan fort was a landmark of south Asian defence and Architecture. Multan was also Capital of sub continent. The original fort was built between 1000Bc and 1300Bc. The Fort was destroyed by British forces in 1848 and 1849.The wall of is 40 to 70feet high and 6800 feet in circumference. The fort 46 bastions included two flanking towers at each of the four gates, Dikki gate, sikki gate, Hareri gate and khizri gate. A ditch 25 feet deep and 40 feet wide and an 18 foot glacis protected the fort from intruders. Within the fort stood a citadel flanked by 30 towers, enclosing mosques, a Hindu temple and khans palace. The citadel was severely damaged by battering it got from the guns of Ranjit Singh in 1818.

not just once but these walls were broken and taken over so many times. there is intensive history behind this fort...pigeons do make it more interesting though..

A ditch 25 feet (7.6 mdeep and 40 feet (12 mwide and an 18-foot (5.5 m) glacis protected the fort from intruders.Within the fort stood a citadel flanked by 30 towers, enclosing mosques, a Hindu temple and a Khans palace. The citadel was severely damaged by the battering it got from the guns of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1818.The Fort was originally known as Katochgarh and is attributed to have been built by the Katoch Dynasty

Nice place to visit, having Multan Metro station nearbyConnecting all the major Areas of Multan cityAt Shrines of Hazrat Bahaudin Zikrya and Hazrat Shah rukne Alam, people find piece of mind and soul.

Most historical Place of City of Saints Multan Sharif. Tomb of Hazrat Shah Rukn E Alam and Tomb of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Multani is located there. These tomb were built in 13th century. Always love to be there.

The reason i gave this place a two star rating is the cheap people gathered there for Goodness but there was no good in those people. They are destroying there beliefs on Allah Almighty there. Poor people but worst poor in belief also.Although the pious person laying in his grave is great and we should act upon his teachings.The view of flyovers across the city can be seen from the fort but still the problem remains of cheap in belief people doing cheap things everywhere.

Masha Allah very interested & beautiful Fort Qasim Multan thats old and urdu name is قلعہ کہنہ قاسم باغ۔. In one day many people from surrounding areas & other cities of Pakistan... during weekends and other holidays so many people came and enjoying here........

Its a historical fort. I will visit it one day. Its our historical fort.

Art gallery is very helpful .it inform all about multan its rules and culture.....Staff (managementis careless and non coprative. If they properly cooperate with visitors they can earn about 10thousand per day with ticket of 20 rupee per person .These all pics are only from art gallery.
