Fort Missoula Regional Park - Park and Garden in Missoula, United States
Amazing complex.
Loved it! What a wonderful facility and the kids just love it. Thank you for having this available for all these young athletes
Lots of good quality kids play equipment and pavilions for parties.
Great wide open family fun for all...
Great place to gather with friends or walk your dogs. They provide pup mitts to clean up after your pooch with plenty of garbage recepticles.Love, Love, Live this area!!
Great place for the family to hang out and play!
Good place for sport and much more activities
Lots of playgrounds for kids of all ages and abilities. Well kept and safe park.
One of my favorite places to take a walk, and watch the young people playing soccer, basketball or volleyball with friends.
So much history to be seen here. A fantastic place to go for a walk, take the kids out to or just walk your dog.
Fort Missoula Regional Park astonished me in size and scope. The former military camp has been transformed into a huge complex of parks, athletic fields, history museums, conference center, gardens, trails, and more. I walked the outdoor historic exhibits. I particularly liked the lookout tower and railroad depot. There is a sobering aspect to Fort Missoula since it served as a WW2 detention camp for Italians, Germans, and Japanese. I enjoyed a vigorous walk on trails throughout the Park where I saw mountains all directions. My wife liked the iris garden which was at peak bloom. I did not have time for the military museum which is next to a National Guard facility.
This is a huge park with several playgrounds, a larger soccer complex, and the old Missoula Fort to explore. If just driving through the area and need a place to let kids get energy out, then this is the perfect place.
Great facility with all natural grass soccer fields.
Great outdoor location for sports, walking and running the dog
Great youth sports complex. Other communities should take note.
The park is a great place for large or small groups to gather in rain or shine (they have a large covered spaceas well as bathrooms, water fountains, and plenty of play equipment to club around on. Also very close to the rest of the Fort which has walking paths and historical buildings/equipment to browse!
Great family place for sports, playground, running, biking and birding. Picnic areas and restrooms are clean and well kept.
My grandsons favorite park in Missoula. He was practicing soccer. It was very clean and nicely laid out.
Big and spacious complex. There could always be more parking.
Great playground for the kids! Beautiful views.
Fun place, wish it was this cool when I grew up
Great area for viewing sports events soccer etc, walking and in front of museum and huge history display outdoors, large dog walking areas...be aware theres a small frisbee throwing area w baskets as targets and need to watch walking there..parking for all activities ..great family fun
Fort Missoula is a wonderful area! I genuinely recommend this park to my close friends, and now to you!Very professional looking, while keeping that classic Montana vibe goin.Theres places to recycle cans, lots of great paths, and all kinds of quiet areas to walk around and relax at. People here are friendly, its mostly people jogging or walking dogs
Great resource for Missoula, tons of amenities. Well maintained.Wish they would let the disc golf course remain year round.. maybe even just the backside away from softball...
Big open space on southwest side of Missoula. Several small museums and historical attractions. Good place to walk, play Frisbee or whatever.
This is a huge park with several picnic shelters and a pavilion that need to be reserved. There are also tennis courts, soccer fields and disc bowling. Bike paths run through it and around adjoining historical Fort Missoula. There is a big dog park, too!
Awesome place to go watch soccer. The fields are beautiful and well maintained. Parking is plentiful and easy to access. The community there is friendly and welcoming.
Soccer tournaments for kiddos in Missoula, watching grand children play. What a great place to go. The playground is lovely, there are restrooms in the area. My first trip since it has been expanded and updated. Super nice.
The Prairie Sisters Vintage market was back. It looked like a pretty good turn out. People were safe, things were clean and I got some cool jewelry and stuff.
Great park!!! Lots to play on 👍Restrooms need SERIOUS attention! Do you NOT understand how germs spread???This is a great park for kids if they DONT have to go to the bathroom AND HALF THE RESTROOMS WERE CLOSED TO BOOT 👎
Its breakfast tomorrow and also take your pet unfortunately most people dont go there keep his dog off of you or they let their dogs poop on the grass and do not leave it which is really disgusting I wish the county would be more to control that or whoever is responsible for the parks and Missoula montana. All the parts are the same they are covered with feces
Excellent walking paths, family friendly, safe environment, numerous bathroom facilities at the complex that are clean and well maintained, ground keepers are always considerate and friendly, great landscaping, nice playground area for children, beautiful covered shelter space with lots of picnic tables - this is a beautiful complex and we love going there!
Huge park with a playground and covered table area. Tons of grass to run and play on also a bunch of sports fields.
We had a great season with Missoula Youth Soccer Club in Fall 2019. These fields are lush and well cared for. Other than a scheduling issue on make-up week with Parks n Rec, our experience at Fort Missoula Regional Park was perfect!
Wonderful staff! Put together such a fun field trip (apple pressing and tourfor our homeschooling families. Kids also absolutely loved the park area!
Very nicely recently expanded park. Many baseball/soft ball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts too. Walking trails and a dog park as well. Ample parking. A couple of historical museums adjacent to park.
What a nice facility. Great fields, lots of bathrooms or honey buckets located here and there to minimize walking. Giant covered area with tables. Lots of free parking.
Learn some history about Hellsgate and then Missoula. There are indoor exhibits and interesting outdoor exhibits of the fort, logging, Forest Service, homesteading and early history of the area. Should be a stop when visiting Missoula.
A very well equipped sports complex !!! IMPORTANT!!! If you or your family will be going to participate or watch sporting events I highly recommend that you bring plenty of sunscreen for you and any little ones and or some sort of shade device as there are NO trees and NO shade of any kind near the playing fields.
Lovely place to take the family or your fur friend and always fun events going on.
Not enough parking! Theres lots of barren gravel lots that are blocked off, for some reason. But official parking lots fill up quick and parking in nearby residential areas is forbidden.Theres a dozen soccer fields and other athletic and recreation facilities but the designers of this complex vastly underestimated how many people might attend this park.
Really great place to have a frisbee tournament. The park is beautiful and really well taken care of as far as the field itself goes. There is also a little playground for kids to play on and theres sufficient parking for bigger groups. If it happens to be rainy, theres also a couple pavilions for groups to gather under.
Awesome park with playgrounds, trails, shelters, playgrounds, softball fields, and amazing multi-use fields.
this is by far the nicest sports park Ive ever been to. they have a lot of parking available. walkways around the park. play areas for the kids. they have the regular turf fields as well as astroturf playing fields as well. the park is well kept there is no trash laying around. they stay on top of emptying trash. they have park patrol managers there that keep things in order. great picnic areas there too.
I have driven by fort Owen a thousand times.finely had time to visit the fort. The most interesting, historic place I have visted for a long time. And a big thanks to the people who saved and reconstructed it. You do not need to go Europe for history ,there is plenty in our own back yard. "A must see".
I love Missoula and have lived here my entire life and was so excited to watch my husband play ball on the new fields. Our family including my 2 year old son got our usual picnic lunch together and headed to the park. When I approached the park I was worried at first due to the two police officers at the entrance. I asked what was wrong and they said nothing. I asked why there were police at the entrance of the park. They said it was to enforce the rules, such as no outside food or drink. I then asked if that was a gun on his hip. He replied "yes". I said " Wow, your really serious about those rules." This is unacceptable. I felt that it was ridiculous and a waste of money to have two armed guards to make sure we dont bring in our own food and drink. What kind of public park doesnt allow you to eat or drink unless its theirs? Booooooo!
Parking is hectic on Saturdays, playground is less busy in the afternoons during the week. Nice clean bathrooms here and plenty of shady pavillions. We like watching sports here because the sidelines are sloped on a hill so you get good views.
Amazing place now. Soccer park is now finished, with a turf field as well. During tournaments and events, local food trucks will come down and serve up good food to buy. Soon, the softball portion will be done, with numerous fields and lights. Both areas have play parks for kids. Missoula was due for this for a long time. Thank you to everyone who voted for it.
Once all the construction is completed this is going to be a magnificent park. I take my dog for a walk here almost every day and we love it! The old officer row area is gorgeous in the fall and you have views of the mountains in the distance from any spot in the park. The new area has a beautiful turf field which is great for the kids and the play areas are amazing, plus the history of the are is spectacular. I would highly recommend taking a tour of the grounds and checking out the Historic Fort museum. Im excited to see what it will be like once its completely done :)
We just spent 3 days there for the Montana State HS Soccer Tournament. Located on the west side of Missoula, Montana this is a great soccer park. Maybe the best in the state. There is lots of free parking and a center pavilion area with a nice clean indoor bathroom facility, including family bathrooms. The pavilion has lots of covered picnic tables for family picnics or getting out of the notoriously fickle Montana weather. The crown jewel of the soccer facility is the artificial turf full sized, lighted soccer pitch, located adjacent to the pavilion area. With bleachers and a lighted scoreboard it is also utilized for training and practice. The natural turf fields are well maintained and house leagues for players of all ages and skill levels. From the mighty mites to coed adult recreation leagues there is something here for any age soccer player. One of the top notch features of the Fort Missoula Regional Park is the playground area for kids that arent playing in the tournament. Well maintained and clean, when my kids were younger they could have spent all day at the playground. The Fort Missoula Museum is on the grounds and is another fun, family friendly activity.
