Fort Meade - Fortress in Lead, United States
Small but beautiful place with lots of history
I had lunch....thats it. 😐
Beautiful, peaceful. Worth a trip to visit!
Cool place. Museum was closed due to covid (
Great place
The roads are stained with the tears of officer candidates. A place where dreams become nightmares: "Standards, No Compromise."
Have a friend their gonna send him a math book an hes doing fine from sounds of phone call from him
Love this place like the drs anf staff there always ready to get you to where you need to be. A great VA store and a cafeteria to. Eat at
It is pleasant there and the buildings are interesting as they are old and fun to look at. Theres always free coffee. It comfy and homey feeling there.
Absolutely wonderful cares in the CLC-G the aides do absolutely wonderful
This is a VA Medical Center. On the grounds are many US Calvary era buildings as well as a Calvary Museum. It is really an interesting place to visit.
Great staff and worth the history you learn there.
A small museum containing artifacts and historical records of US Army calvary units and other units that have been stationed there. Also had items of local history.
Very interesting museum that is there. So much history to see
Visited when riding cross country for Albany, NY. VA hospital. Pleasant stop. Much history. Much info. Need to go back. Not enough time spent there.
Very cool. Nice museum.
Historic Army Fort and cemetary from Civil War Era. Still in operation as Army Officers Training Grounds. We enjoyed the museum, the beautiful grounds, and the historic buildings
Great place and loads of info!
Wonderful history preservation in the ft meade museum. Also worth a visit to the Indians sacred ceremonial grounds of bear Butte nearby
The Ft. Meade walking/biking trail is a well maintained, gravel path located on the southern edge of the Ft. Meade campus. The entire loop is just over 2 miles. The north side of the loop is hard surfaced.
Best VA in the USA plain and simple I drive 250 miles just to get treated there and others travel farther than that
A piece of the ol West.
Always great trails and depending what trail you take, you can see glimpses of the past with old structures and such. PLEASE be respectful and NEVER LITTER!
Historic and well kept area. Check out the museum and the new walking path around this place. Along the path you will find tidbits of information about the past.
Great VA facilitly. Interesting old Fort with many of the old buildings still being used
A beautiful campus that preserves the history of the Black Hills in this region well administering excellent care to our veterans. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept immaculately and the safety coordinator on-site is one of the best in the entire VA system.
If you are a veteran, this place will tell you what is wrong with your body and do there best to get you well again.
One of the worst VA systems Ive ever been to. They will throw you under the bus, lie, and back there employees to the max. You can even show them concrete evidence that some of the Black Hills VA system employees are doing illegal practices but the dont take responsibility for their actions. Scottsbluff Nebraska is one of the worst!
We were out there for bike week in Sturgis stopped in to see this Place it was very nice very interesting to be honest Im not really in to that kind of stuff
Very interesting. We learned a lot from the video, but still went on the tour. Then drove around. It was very neat.
Very nicely done. The young lady that works there is very friendly.
It was nice some history i would like to have more info about what look at some of the other buildings and stables out there
Loved it, unique, important history as an Army Vet.
Great Historical place to visit
Avoid this place at all cost. It is a disgrace to veterans.
Best OCS in CONUS. The cadre is very friendly and makes sure your stay is one to remember. The chef at their DFAC makes every meal special with a rotating seasonal menu, definitely a place where you want to take your time and enjoy every bite.
Some of the antiques are missing over the years from my wifes relatives.
Thanks it was a great visit. Lots of history
Really cool place and the museum was really interesting. The staff is also very friendly and helpful!
Awe inspiring. Lovely grounds and well done museum. Probably not the best for very young children, but excellent for history buff types and military families.
Beautiful area, old houses, lots of history
Staff is unsat. Inconsistent care. As a vet... I am ashamed on behalf of other Vets
Love to walk the grounds and hike the trails.
Very nice VA hospital.
Ft. Meade is where I receive my VA care. I get excellent medical care and they are able to treat all diseases.
Good place for Veterans to go for their health care
It was an awesome place and experience.
Ft. Meade was nicely preserved. Lots of old buildings. And a cemetery up on hill too
Amazing little place, check out the monuments in the courtyard and stop in at the museum. Nominal entrance fee like $10.
