Butre, Ghana, Obuasi
Fort Batenstein - Fortress in Obuasi, Ghana
Ruine eines Forts aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Wunderschöner Blick über die Umgebung.Eintritt 30 Cedi pro Person. Kurzer steiler Weg von Butre aus. Zugang zur Burg mitten im Ort.
Incredible overgrown. The path up is pretty much hidden by all the overgrowth. Paid 30 cedis for one person.
The location is perfect but the surroundings is bushy and needs to be cleaned
The place has been abandoned for long without maintenance..no one took us through the history of the fort as well.
The journey to Butre might be a very adventurous one. The rewards, numerous. Go there. Look for Anthony, a great guide.
A great historical experience awaits you.
Great view
Great place to see
Forevermore experience and edifice of a byegone era of the Gold Coast Ghana and its European historical past time.
It a very nice place but they need to weed around and make the place fine
Spirited symbolic
Great view from the Fort

Would like to visit the place to know more about the history.
Wow great views, very peaceful and lovely people.
Col
Repartez sur les traces de lhistoire de la Gold Coast actuel Ghana dans ce fort Hollandais construit au 17e Siècle.
Historical Relic that should be visited more.
Finest tour site
The view is amazing!
A steep climb up to reveal insights into the works of the generation past. This Fort was established in the 1600s and played a major role in maintaining control of trade routes and the Dutch Gold Coast
Its an amazing place, and i has a great history behind it,and the view from the top is amazing
An amazing place to go for a morning hike. The gatekeeper charges you 10 cd per person (20 in totalto get access but it is totally worth it by enjoying the view of Butre. The fort apparently collapsed not long ago and some people may tell you it is closed, but you can still go.
It has a great landscape view. It is so awesome
One of the most impressive places in Ghana, a truly secrettipp. The castel and the whole village is a must see.
Nice place..
Definitely worth it, we paid 50 cedi for two to the chieftain or the village and - though maybe a bit pricey compared to other sites in this part of Ghana - totally worth it. Understand this price is probably a bit variable, others seems to pay less or more. Either way, a highlight of a stay in butre.
One of the Fort which is least talked about
Historical Place for Ahantas worthy of sharing with the world.
Neat beach, friendly people and very neat environment
Beautiful site. Renovation would transform it
Because is very nice place to stay
Great sight, breathtaking scenery overlooking the bay and the Butre village. On the East is a long curved coastline stretching all the way to Asemkor and beyond. On the immediate left is the Butre river which flows into the sea.I had no guide take me up the fort. Old man was accommodating and friendly. Pay 10gh-20gh cedis depending on nationality.Resorts Hideout (little/medium budget), Green Zion Garden(small budgetand Fantas Folly (most affluentare the resorts you can find on the beach.Lovely place to visit in April/May.
no sabia que esistia ´´
Mooi uitzicht, maar... 20 sidi toegang bij oude man aan begin van de trap. Maar daarna omhoog geleid door jongens die ook nog eens om geld vroegen en bleven zeuren.
Beautiful scenery over the town.Rich history, must visit if pass around...
The view was amazing. Experience a walk through the village of Butre and when you climb the hill to the fort you get to see the whole town and its surroundings.
Ha!The view of the cliff from the Ruins is what you call a wonder. Natures friggin beautiful.
Basically an old ruin. There is not much left besides the walls, but you get to experience a breathtaking view over the bay, river and butre once you are up the hill. The fee is quite high (15-20cedibut the view is wort it and the money goes into the community.
Good
There has been alot of changes now. Posted by mesere kojo from butre
A good point of view for experiencing the beauty of the Butre township and the Atlantic Ocean. The dug out stairway provides easy access to the fort.
