721 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215, United States, Columbus
Elevated eatery with swanky decor serving stone-fired New American eats for dinner & weekend brunch.
The best pizza I have ever tried.I will revisit Columbus just to have another slice of their pizza.
I had a great experience here. I enjoyed the outdoor seating, and the food was really good as well. I would recommend trying it out.
Poor food and service. We came with a party of 6. I ordered a medium rare burger. It came out hard as a rock. I told the server at the end and she said she would take it out. Lady manager also showed up to apologise and said the same thing. At the end server didn’t take it out and started acting dumb. Very unprofessional service. Waste of time and money. Overrated place. Will always avoid in the future
The biscuits and gravy here are unique and PHENOMENAL!good service, upscale environment yet a distinctly approachable and warm vibe.Bloody Mary (excellentand buscuits and gravy $21
This place has the best happy hour!! Drinks and appetizers are great. My favorite drink is the jalapeño marg and the tuna tacos and calamari are super yummy. Prices during happy hour are a steal.
All around, Forno was good. Appetizer was good. Entree was good. Service was good. Location and patio was great. I did not get that extra little pizzazz some other places give me that warrants the 5 stars.Started with the Crispy Rice - fried risotto, spicy ahi tuna, sweet soy, jalapeno, pickled ginger with a sprinkle of micro greens. Crispy risotto is close to a tater tot texture and taste - slap a little ahi tuna on it with the soy, ginger, jalapeno, micro greens and spicy mayo type sauce. Not bad.Cajun Shrimp + Grits were good as well. Portion size was legit. And you would think, grits deserves a sh*t ton of butter and cheese, how can it not taste good and be amazing. But grits take time and these did not seem to be cooked to the creamy expectations my heart desires. The shrimp were delicious. Flavor was on point.Definitely want to explore the menu, this is a restaurant worth scoping out.
Great place for brunch or dinner. A bit on the fancier/more expensive side, but awesome atmosphere and service. The strawberry shots are delicious
Love this place. However, extremely frustrated with them as I made a reservation and was told they had me down but a manager just needed to get back with me. Never heard from them so called them again to confirm reservation and they told me they didn’t have room for me. This reservation was made to celebrate my birthday, the least they could do is try to fit me in as it was their mistake.
Food is great. Drinks were pretty good.
Had a wonderful experience here. All the food was quick to come out and tasted excellent. Our waitress was fun and helped me pioneer getting the pasta forno with goat cheese crumbles added (give it a try!I’ll definitely be coming back
Happy hour on Friday afternoon! The best! Wonderful atmosphere and great food and drinks!
These drinks were amazing. Spiked Strawberry on the right top and Strawberry Frose to the left.Dinner: The crab cake was not that good but the Garlic Butter Shrimp with the red pepper flakes lightly sprinkled on top was the best part of my meal. I also had Salmon with roasted veggies. The Salmon wasnt crusted but it was marinated with something that gave it a very good taste and I loved it so much. Im used to Salmon with a great amount of seasoning/sauce on it but the sauce that lay underneath was great. I also had the mushroom Risotto on the side. The whole meal was delicious and I will definitely be back to try move food.
No complaints! Fun, classy atmosphere and great service. We tried their stone fired pizza for an entrée and the calamari as an appetizer. Serving sizes are pretty big, they dont skimp on food. Cocktails were a highlight, great menu of Forno-specific drinks, really creative and flavor-forward.My only critique is that the seating arrangements are cramped. My husband and I were seated at a two-person table by one of the street-facing windows, and the back of my chair was pressed against the back of the diners chair behind me! Not the worst, but could be inconvenient to some diners.Overall, great experience. They even brought out a free dessert since we were there celebrating!
Soooo delicious, had the cranberry mimosa and the shrimp and grits for brunch and after not going out for brunch in years, this experience has me wanted to out every weekend.Update: had the same thing, but I added the crab cake, had the true Grit, and a Manhattan. All were delicious.
Just paid less than $30 for 3 people for these in happy hours. All very tasty
The food was amazing. I ordered the chicken and waffle. The breast was well seasoned and everything was still hot. I also tried the pesto pizza which was really great. I cannot wait to come back and try something else. The decor in the restaurant area is also very beautiful.
I really enjoyed my experience at Forno. The food was amazing as well as the staff and atmosphere. Although some items were a bit pricier, I wouldn’t mind because the food was delicious and high quality. I hope to come back!
Such a beautiful and nice setting 😍 and up scale ⚖ restaurant. Watching the cooks making the 🍕 pizza and watching the 🍕 cook in the Forno Grill was entertaining 👌 the dim lights were very nice 👌 and the staff was great 👍 my dirty martini filthy with Three Olives 🫒 was amazing 👏 and tasteful. I give The Forno Kitchen 5 stars 🌟
Bar staff was awesome, happy hour had great pricing. They offered alot of gluten free options which is perfect for my wife. 1 downside the gluten free pizza wasnt great but there normal pizza was awesome
The pizza is amazing good. We also had salad and bruchetta. Wait staff is really attentive and knowledge. Great place
Let me start with food and server were amazing! The only reason I’m even writing a review was how rude the two blonde girls at the host stand were. If it wasn’t the fact I was there for a birthday dinner I would have left. Why have two people with no hospitality and people skills be a host!? I said something to a couple other employees who assured me we weren’t the first people to complain about the rude hosts so that sucks you still would allow them to be up front being the first people you see when you walk in. Glad I stayed for the great server and food I hope to try again and not have a attitude and eyes rolled at me as soon as I walk in
My family made reservations for Fathers Day, after weve tried to get in several times over the last couple months with no success. I was not impressed & have no interest in returning. The Warm Ricotta appetizer is extremely bland, not much flavor. My burger was okay, but our service was terrible & our food all came out cold! Trying to flag down our waitress was very frustrating & she never checked in on her own for drink refills & seemed irritated when we asked what her recommendations were. Very disappointing!
Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and we were one of two tables occupied. Service was great. Since this was my first time, the server gave me suggestions on wine and food. Pizza is the name of the game, but they have other tasty Italian options available.
Service was AMAZING. Food was DELICIOUS. 10/10 definitely going back for brunch!Food page on Instagram : NyeEats
Food was pretty alright, but the service was just awful unfortunately. It wasnt busy, I got a table for myself. I ordered the caesar salad and the filet entree. Halfway through my salad, I had to use the bathroom, so I took my purse with me and was gone 2-3 minutes. When I came back I think they had somehow assumed I dined and dashed, because my table was cleared and cleaned, spray bottle and all. When I came back the waitress got the stuff off the table and pretended nothing happened. To be honest it was my birthday and I was feeling pretty depressed already so I didnt want to start any kind of argument. I ate my steak, paid, and left. Salad was not worth the price (just chopped up romaine and plain dressing and cheap croutons really). Steak was pretty good, not sure if it was worth the price either though.
I was traveling with a group of around 15 friends and ended up here at midnight after a concert on a Saturday. They were incredibly accommodating. They provided us a back room and excellent service. We all got pizzas and drinks, and they were amazing. I ordered the peaches and cream drink (picturedand holy was it worth it; alcoholic desert in a glass!
I went here for a celebratory lunch/brunch. Let me tell you our waiter made suggestions, we followed some. The food was fresh! The tuna tacos were to die for. We also had pizza that was gluten free which is the best I’ve ever had. The drinks were refreshing and good. Needless to say spent a ton of money, but it was worth EVERY penny! Definitely go here. You won’t be disappointed.
We went on a Monday afternoon I believe. This place is beautiful, let’s begin there. The restrooms are clean. We sat close to the wrap around bar. We shared a pizza, the pie was pretty good! The cheese was perfect. I got the salmon& root veggies and my date got the chicken& veggies. We asked that the chicken be cooked a bit longer than usual and made spicy if possible. If was a little undercooked and no spice.Or fries as appealing as they looked were cold. Our waiter was so hospitable and attentive! She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us but didn’t hover.
Heard about this place plenty of times but never had the time to check it out. It was worth the wait. Probably will never return again but it was a great experience and great service! The pizza and garlic shrimp appetizer was amazing. Our server was the best.
Ive only been to Forno for Mimosas, but the bottle service is great! A bottle of sparkling wine for $25 and constant orange juice refills. The two of us had about 5 glasses each from the one bottle, so its a good deal! Outdoor patio was really nice too!
Great server. Food was subpar. The pizza offerings were that of Neapolitan style but the crust and quality was nothing of the sort. The warm ricotta can be improved by taking the following actions: ditch the oregano, add salt, add a bit of rosemary, more white balsamic reduction and peaches. The kiwi cocktail was delicious. The happy hour deal was great, and would not pay full price for this meal again.
Love the food and energy here. Its a very nice bar and dining atmosphere. Happy hour is great. Loved the calamari and strawberry shots are a must have.
Found this place while walking around downtown Columbus. It was the only place with available patio seating on a beautiful day, so we quickly grabbed it. Great city view with amazing service. The cocktails looked as good as they tasted. The food was all so spectacular and flavorful. The sizes were perfect for the 3 of us. I would definitely come here again when in the area!
Emily was my server tonight and she was wonderful. Amazing recommendations and I could not have been happier with my meal, the pizza was insane with the white balsamic vinegar reduction (specifically recommended by herand the brussel sprouts were delicious as well. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. I would highly recommend and come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Came for dinner on Saturday night. The place is very loud and busy. The food was average, nothing special. We had spike strawberries (way too much whipped cream), Avocado Bruschetta, Ahi Tuna Tacos, Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese salad - everything was good, if not spectacular. Our daughter and her friend both had Pasta Forno (they both said it was good). Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed. When we ordered the drink, he seemed to forgot about it and we had to remind him couple of times. Then he brought us the wrong bill, so we had to ask for it again.Ok experience, not somewhere I will strive to come back
The garlic shrimp shareable was the best! Pizza was good and the gluten free crust. Kiwi mule was so fresh tasting.
I had brunch at Forno today and it is by far the Best meal I’ve had in Columbus. I had the Brunch Brasato and Shrimps + grits, I enjoyed every bite of my meal. Service was great, the vibe was awesome, the host, servers were amazing. I will go back there again and again. I can’t wait to try a new dish at this place
GET. THE. TOMATO. BISQUE. ITS ONLY $8 AND IT IS THE BEST SOUP YOU WILL EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFE
Came here to enjoy a birthday drink for my boyfriend and the experience was more then I expected. We sat at the bar and the male bartender was extremely nice and polite and helped us to have a great meal/drink moment. We had the 4 cheese pizza 🍕 and amazing 🍸 🍹 drinks. The picture is the spiked strawberrys that are overall very good 😋🤌🏼
This was my first visit for my nieces birthday celebration (22 yrs old). The food was good. The place was very busy and was for a younger audience (Short Northsuch as my niece. Nice spot, no parking..or hard to find a place to park which was expected.
Cute place in a great location. Love the patio with orange umbrellas. Very nice staff and service is great. I just thought the pizza was meh. Since the name is “forno” I was expecting a great pizza crust with lots of bubbles and burnt edges baked in a wood fired oven. But the crust was ordinary and dense, and the toppings weren’t very good. I’ll have to try something else other than pizza next time.
Great food, awesome service. We wandered in at Happy Hour and were so lucky we did! Half price drinks, pizzas and apps. It was a great experience. The mussels were delicious. The pizzas were crispy and cheesy. I had the burger and it was cooked the way I asked for it and tasted amazing. Highly recommend! You can make reservations if youd like (if you have a large party you might want tobut as a party of 3 we got right in at 4:40 on a Monday.
One of the best spots in Columbus! Incredible food, energetic atmosphere, and excellent staff. Hubby and I never get tired of doing date night here. Extra shoutout to one of the managers, Pat, who takes the time to go around and check in with all of the tables. Amazing! Went last night and already looking forward to going back soon.
One of the best brunch spots I have been to in a long time! We kind of accidentally ended up at Forno but I am so glad we did. I had always been hesitant to try Forno because I thought it was only pizza and I was so wrong! They had one of the best chicken and waffles that I have had in recent memory.Great brunch drink special too: your first mimosa or bloody Mary is half off with a brunch entree! I definitely look forward to coming back.
Service was almost to the point of annoying. But the server was pleasant and quick with our orders. The calamari wasnt the best, and I probably wouldnt get it again but everything else was very good! Will definitely return for happy hour!!
I enjoyed the atmosphere, but also appreciated being tucked away in a corner where it felt like my party and I had a private setting. The service was acceptable. Our server was attentive, but not annoyingly so. The food was good overall. Everybody in our party agreed that their entree was delicious. We all also agreed that the calamari we got to share was a hard fried disappointment. The lemon aioli that accompanied it was really tasty, but the rest of that dish needs work.
Absolutely delicious for brunch! It is a bit pricey, but excellent for special occasions. The chicken and waffles was nothing short of amazing, and I would definitely drink more mimosas from Forno 😍We were able to make a patio reservation for 10am which was perfect, and our waiter was very helpful and amicable!
Best happy hour ever! Half off the majority of their menu from 4-6pm including cocktails. Servers, at the bar, are very attentive even in the chaos of happy hour! Food was delicious and definitely enough to share.
Had the best birthday brunch here. Bottomless mimosas and our excellent server threw in a complimentary order of strawberry Jell-O shots, served in strawberries. Ive been here for happy hour too. The 1/2 price pizzas are delicious but come early, it is one of the best deals in town and the place fills up fast.
This place has a very attractive atmosphere with a bar, private event space, and good music playing in the background. Pizzas are the heart of the daily menu, but the weekend brunch here is especially phenomenal. They have all of the usual suspects on the menu, but add unique twists to most of them that really elevate the dishes. Service is friendly and typically pretty fast, even without a reservation. Id highly recommend Forno for the overall experience!
