Formby Point Caravan Park - in Crosby, United Kingdom
Basic but great position by the sea abd not far from the town.
Nice and quiet ,could do with being updated ,friendly staff ,big pitches,no WiFi signal for those that cant live without it
Been a life saver over my 25 years on the site. Dont know what Id do without it.
Very nice quiet and relaxing place
Excellent site really quiet and peaceful, every thing you need, toilets (little old & tired but all works okthe staff keep them all clean and are really friendly. Right next to the sand dunes about 20 mins walk to the fabulous beach. There is a bus stop at top of road which is the circular fornby bus runs every hour, then you have the train station 1mile easy walk away, takes you to Liverpool/ Southport etc.
There is any phone number i can call to rent a bungalow/caravan? Thanks, looks lovely
We have visited formby point caravan park many times in the past, found it amazing, friendly staff and people, my most favourite place for relaxation though we havenβt been back in years due to unforeseen circumstances I wouldnβt hesitate to return there
Fabulous place..The owners are the perfect hosts.. Told us best places to go in and round the area.. a wonderful and quiet site. Nice well maintained shower block. loved it so much came straight back the following weekend
Note that empty beach π glorious and such wonderful weatherSadly no improvement made to facilities some toilets and showers have been out of order for the last 6 years. And not only have the rubbish bins been moved but theyre locked at 4pm. The location and security are the main draw
Lovely park being going for years with our tourer now bought static caravan on site we love it
Owners only. No caravans to rent, and no tents.
Mainly static, but a spot for tourers. Price reflex facilities are basic.Dog friendly - beach 5 mins walk through the sand dunes accessed from the site.Everyone very friendly. Owners lovely. Will definitely be booking again. If you want peace and quiet this is perfect :)
Lovely residential site with a special area for Motor homes and Tourers. Visited with our Tentbox and were totally welcomed. You can walk onto the beach from the site and it is dog friendly. Recommended π
Site owners doing a good job cutting back overgrown areas and maintaining communal areas. Caravan owners all out maintaining their areas. All looking good for the summer.
Friendly welcome π.Fantastic location of site. Good sized plot on touring part of large static caravan park. Usual facilities, very clean toilets/showers. Loved it
Lovely place nice community close to the beach perfect for kids
Great place definitely recommend dog friendly close to amaising walks and fantastic beach lovely clean well cared for site looking forward to next visit soon π
A very nice well run park,my mum and dad had a van on there years ago enjoyed it very much nice people that Own it keep it well run ,Derek ππ¬π§π
We absolutely love the location of this chilled out and peaceful site!! Right next to the sand dunes which our dogs loved. Toilets clean and functional. Didnt use the shower so cant comment on those but they looked ok. Back to basics but we will be back!!! Loved it, loved it!!
Had a fab weekend, lovely an peace full, so relaxing, great walks for the dog, showers an toilets need updating but are clean booked again for next year, only down is cant prebook the pitch we want as 2 vans going together next year
Very nice, but no one knew or followed the simple rule of how to park on the site, we were told to sort it our selves by telling the next pitch where to park. Not my job and would not take the risk.
Been going there over 40 years never had a single problem. Loverly owners go out of their way to help with any problems (nothing major).
Lovely, quiet, peaceful location.Excellent location for walking, cycling etc.10 minutes from the Beach via the sand dunes or forest.Staff very friendly and helpful.Around 20 / 25 minute walk to railway station with routes to Liverpool / Southport etc.Beach walks to Southport with a return train journey if required.Stayed at the site a number of times and definitely would recommend it
Yep so quiet, peaceful, bit of a hike to town but we enjoyed our 3 nights there.
We have a caravan there. Its a quiet site with easy access to beach, sand dune and nice walks. The train station is within walking distance. Every 20 minutes trains run into Liverpool and up to Southport.
The park warden was very disrespectful ,told me I wasnt aloud to park my Toyota hilux pick up on site as it was a commercial vehicle so had to park it on a carpark about a mile away were my tools were stolen! And when we finally walked to the caravan to meet my family I found they do let jeeps on as a Mitsubishi pick up was parked in the middle of the grass , no phone reception,No shops near and was looking quite run down . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. NOT EVEN FOR A DOG !
Lovely quiet site mainly for statics but have around 20 good solid pitches all with EHU for caravans and motorhomesAmong the really good points Is hardly no phone signal π and very pet friendly.Loads of walks.Nice 15 minutes walk into townEveryone is really friendly.
Very quiet but about 20 min walk across the dunes to the beach. Did not use toilets as they were closed due to covid. No mobile phone signal or WiFi.
Weβve been many times staying 2-5 nights in my parents motor home. The site is set in beautiful surroundings, the forest to one side with pine cones galore, and sand dunes around the rest, itβs great for a quiet, peaceful break, walking and bike riding. My daughter and I love formby point, itβs beach goers quiet paradise thatβs amazingly close to civilisation yet feels out in the wilds. The site is great for bike rides, as itβs quite big. Itβs tidy and litter free, the toilet/showers are always clean, however closed when we last went in August due to the health situation.Great caravan park and we will definitely be going again next year.
Beautiful quiet little site ideally located for access to beach and park areas. Clean and well organised with good amenities.
Beside the sand dunes, only a 5/10 minutes walk to the beach. Very quiet site, front gate is locked at 530pm. Swipe card 20 pounds deposit. Lots of static caravans and less than 10 tourers. Not very much lighting around and no directions to the reception, quite a big site. The toilet block is opened with a π 2 pounds deposit. You require the key for the shower and toilet.
Clean, tidy, friendly, beach side site set in wonderful surroundings. No frills, a really relaxing, back to nature site on a beautiful coastline, accessible through the campsite.
Lovely peaceful place, nice little village. Not good if you need Internet though as its a bit of a black spot
Great locality, near huge sand dunes and a Sandy Beach. Shops and pub some distance away. Facilities basic but adequate. Plenty of hot water in the shower.
Nice quiet cl.fir tourers close to.the beach walking through sand dunes .brilliant cycle route from site into south port only 1/4 mile on quiet Road .the route takes you through beautiful pine woods .with it just for the cycling
Out of the way and quiet. Some people were very noisy just ruined it slightly for us
Quiet site next to Pine Woods and associated wildlifeAn enjoyable stroll to the beaches and Crosby Hightown Formby & FreshfieldContainer Ships so close in shipping lanes Youd think they would run aground on the sandbanks
Been going to this site since 1963. It is a magical place for me. It has few facilities and no bar or club. Its great. Just a great beach nearby good access to Southport and Liverpool by road and rail.Please. Dont tell anyone about it.
Second visit very nice and plenty of walking. Phone signal is rubbish bit thats it a bad thing. Cash only and a deposit of Β£20 for the gate key and Β£2 for the toilet key this is refunded on departure
We really enjoyed our stay, small part of a site where many people live is dedicated to caravans and motorhomes....perhaps tents too, but we didnt have any there so youd have to check, dog friendly. Toilets were not brand new, but were well looked after. Nice sheltered area tucked in behind a dune, we were met at the barrier early evening, so felt nice and safe at night. Seemed to have pleasent dune dog walks although many people think they can just ignore their dog poos....daft hey? Gives the rest of us a bad name..Id hasten to say it seemed to be residents either of site or area, not the other dog owner who was pitched near us....as I watched three sets of walkers, its such an easy job to do. Anyway off my soap box, we enjoyed our stay, everyone was very friendly!
Pleasant surroundings. Toilet blocks could do with a face list. There is a vast amount of security cameras which led us to wonder why they were so necessary.
What a little gem this place is! Fantastic facilities, and beautiful grounds. Originally booked in for 1 night in our campervan, ended up staying a second night we were that impressed. Will most definitely be back.
Good little park on the edge of the dunes of Formby beach. God prices and no fuss. Few kids. The nearby village of Formby is nice with great charity shops and good food and drink.
Fab site in Formby, easy access to the dunes and beach via a gate at the back of the site. The site itself is about 30 mins walk from Formby where there are shops, restaurants and bars. The train station it in Formby where you can easily and very quickly get to Southport and Liverpool
Tidy site, rural situation, clean toilets. Excited to see red squirrels frollicking outside the caravan. Walk across the dunes to the beach. Lots of places in travelling distance. Formby is a lovely village.
Great location for the beach and dunes. Quite site with clean toilets and showers (dont forget your 20ps for the shower), only slight improvement is signage for water points would be helpful.
Perfect spot if you like beaches, dunes and walking. The touring spot is at one end of the site and you can chose your own pitch; some are hard standing, some grass and some grass/under trees.Facilities are basic and clean (you will need 20p for the shower).A few seconds from the pitches are the dunes and then its just a short walk to the beach.
Very friendly and helpful staff, site was lovely and clean. So close to the beach and Forest had a great weekend and will definitely return.
EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF DO NOT USE. My colleague and I both tried to ring the site today and had an individually awful experiences. They took a very long time answering the phone and when I finally got through the woman was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Its almost as if they dont want paying customers! Totally clueless about availability and location, slammed the phone down on BOTH of us for NO reason. I am not someone that goes out of their way to write horrible reviews but I have no idea how this site is still in business with such poor customer service. If you do want to stay here make sure youre prepared for a verbal beating when you call up to book!
We visited with our 5 year old twins in August. Lots of walks straight from the site out onto the dunes and the woodland walk where you may spot a red squirrel if you are lucky. The beach is 10-15 mins walk. Formby station is 5 minutes drive away from where frequent electric trains will take you to Liverpool or Southport. A bargain Β£10 family rail ticket will give you unlimited travel on the Merseyrail system for the day. Cant wait until our next visit to Formby Point.
