I have been here twice recently for work..I understand a few facilities are closed as it is getting knocked down shortly.. and can overlook a few maintenance issues and the fact it is quite outdated....because of this also..however,room 10 was pretty reasonable a few months ago thats why I decided to come back although the place is not perfect the staff were friendly.room 9 the shower pressure is poor, shower head leaks from the top, towel rail falls apart when you put a towel on it and the AC shroud rattles when heat is on.as mentioned i understand the scenario.. but you are charging a premium for an average room.second dearest in whyalla.. the only thing it has going for it is the view and nice staff.I dont think I will be returning next trip.

Very disappointed with our stay, firstly the pool wasn’t in use - despite being advertised on booking.com. Secondly our bathroom flooded when we went to use it, we rung up and the lady came and looked and said I can’t do anything until Monday. Poured a boiled kettle down the drain and that was it and given extra towels to use to stop the water from spilling into the room. we were offered a single room which is no use to us as we had a child with us and was advised that the room offered had a noisy aircon. Still slugged full price.

Massively disappointedWebsite and reviews looked great, beautiful views, fantastic waterfront restaurant and seaview room.Got there saturday afternoon and advised that the restaurant is no longer open over weekends, so no waterfront dinner and no breakfast.Went to the seaview room and the smell was disgusting. We opened the window and door and sprayed perfume and deodarant. The overpowering smell of heavy duty cleaners used to clean up something nasty most probably something gastric. After one night we left with our holiday cut short with both of us getting gastro which lasted a week.Disillusioned.

Food was average. Service patchy. At least one wait person was a student and inexperienced. Had to ask twice for water and 10 minutes after arrival had to request menus. Had similar experience here last year and hoped for improvement. Unlikely to return.

It was okay, but nothing past that. It’s obvious this place hasn’t been invested in for many many years. Rooms are old and dates, there wasn’t even toilet paper (just individual sheet dispensers, and the room still as it was built in the 70s. Disappointing and not worth the money paid for it.

Excellent Location is a big plus point.Receptionist is extremely good and even though she is new and recently moved to Whyalla, she told us to watch for dolphins as they follow the boat and we saw three dolphinsMattress is horrible, it must be as old as motel is, if they change the mattress then I will give 5 stars in review

Stayed there for two nights over the Easter break. Though the rooms are dated and need a bit of sprucing up, they are clean and thats what matters. Five stars for the location - walking distance to the Jetty, not too far from the main streets and just next to the Ada Ryan park. Will be sad to see it go in June when it undergoes renovation to be built into a 9 storey hotel! Recommended!

Well.... not not the web site makes it out to be. Rooms very out dated & dirty, not worth the money. Sprayed bugs all night because of the gap under the air-conditioner. Meals very average, ordered sea food with linguine, got sea food with spaghetti! They sad its the same, not in my eyes its not. Then come the bill for two bears that I ordered with the meal, $12 per bottle!! now thats out there. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN! Will be glad to get back into my normal hotel. Stay away!!!!!

Motor Inn Rooms (4stars):Absolutely fine. Nice, comfortable, some recent modifications to make them more modern. Worth the price.Foreshore Watersedge Restaurant (2stars):Wow was the restaurant horribly overpriced. Feels like the restaurant is trying to be 5 stars when at best its 3. It has a nice view but the prices are HIGHER then Windy Point, Adelaide but the food was no better then your average pub meal. $50 for lamb rack is just ridiculous unless it blows your socks off. I feel like they have added $5 for trying to be fancy, $5 to the meal for the view and $10 cause they expect that only business men/woman will come through and it will be paid for by the company on expenses so no damage done to the individuals wallet.Looking at previous reviews, it does seem there may have been a changing of the guard recently but still couldnt imagine it being worth it beforehand, just a lesser blow.

Waters Edge Restaurant. Kids meals expensive @ $15 each. Menu said house made chicken nuggets, were store brought. Prices for our meals were OK ($25-30). Burger was dry and overcooked. Thai meals were VERY salty. Then when meal was paid for they added $10 GST to our total with a pen. Seems steep and cheeky since the garlic bread was $11 alone. Very disappointed in the overall quality. Had dined here a year ago and meals were spectacular. Service itself was good

This is one of the most dreadful places Ive ever stayed. Deluxe in my view is not a shabby 60s besser block motel room with poor quality fittings, absolutely no service, and an austere exterior. To be honest, that seems to be Whyalla in a nutshell. Its no wonder the town is declining. We thought wed overnight here on our way to Port Lincoln just to contribute to another South Australian country town, but frankly, its really not worthy. Never again. The second best place to go is the yacht club where youll get a refreshingly honest opinion about Whyalla. The best place to go is somewhere else.

Very dated rooms, cheap Target essentials appliances, 1 small bottle of shampoo and a tiny bar of soap - no body wash, conditioner or any if the other basics that most 2-3 star hotels would even offer. Pillows all rock solid memory foam and very little water pressure. No mini bar offerings, but quite happy to charge $4 for a 600ml cheap brand water which would be complimentary elsewhere. Not sure Id stay here again.

We were very happy with the place. It was clean and tidy. The pool was great. They offered us some breakfast packs which made life very easy for us.The bathroom was a bit dated and we needed to close the taps hard to make sure that they dont drop. But these were very minor issues as everything else was great! The staff were very helpful too. We would live to stay here if we are in the area again.Good value for money

Hotel accommodation was stuck in the early 80s and reeked of reluctance to spend a cent. Not sure if it was clean as everything was so old. Pretty sure there was a water restrictor in the shower and separate basin water taps is an example of outdated fittings etc.Bed was fine but linen looked like what my grandmothers place has, plain white is much better in my opinion.Food at the restaurant was great but pretty expensive. Not sure whats going on here... Good restaurant but not good accommodation... Wonder if it has the same owners/management?

Significantly overpriced. Deceptive photography used to conceal the very dated rooms, facilities & furnishings. Hard, lumpy bed. Poor shower pressure. Hot, stuffy rooms with little natural ventilation, as well as old aircon that would struggle in Summer. Pool is nice & staff are friendly. Lovely restaurant attached. Location is excellent. Wouldnt mind if the price reflected the quality of the rooms & the photos showed what the standard rooms actually look like. We paid $140 after having just come from the beautiful Port Lincoln Hotel where we paid $145 & the two are worlds apart.

So old fashioned motel. While we were doing booking they said we will get complimentary breakfast and it will be ocean view room. But when we asked about breakfast, staff said they dont serve on weekends. And when we asked then why u people didnt say that when we were doing booking staff started screaming and were blaming us being rude. They dont do room cleaning and room service on public holidays. We asked 10 times to give us fresh towels and tea stuffs. From room u will only be able to see car parking.

The accommodation is basic, pool was great after a long day motorcycle riding through 43 degrees. The bar opens at 5.30pm and we enjoyed a few cold beers before the restaurant opened at 6pm. Food and service in the restaurant was top shelf. We were looking for seafood and this motel restaurant is know as the best in town. It didnt disappoint us.Great for 1 night, if we planned to stay a few nights, a cabin in the caravan park down the beach looked inviting, then walk to the motel bar and restaurant.

The place itself is fine. The rooms are very dated, but clean enough mostly. The kettle was full of mold so I couldnt use that.Upon arrival all the owner, Babarra, wanted to do was book me a table for din er. She has obviously had a sales course or two in her day, but couldnt pick up that myself telling her ok a menus in my room, Ill have a look multiple times, that i wasnt that interested, she kept telling me all of the specials.I later turned up for dinner, and even though this is a motel on the waterfront, in a beachy tourist town, i wasnt up to dress code. While leaving I witnessed a lady being seated with a very similar top on that I had just been told to change. As I had been on the road for a few days my washing was being done while I stayed, so didnt have another top!!! All round, pretty pour customer service from Barb. She reminded me of a try hard Gordan Ramsey, hes got that tv show where he goes and sorts out hotels, but Barb didnt have the skills.Just relax Barb and give a good service without all the try hardness.

Arrived to find check in office locked. Had to ring bell. Elderly women opened door, was slightly rude, or at the very least had very average people skills. No warning of the concert taking place on the fore shore 50 metres from hotel. Kept us and our 4 year old up all night. Not so subtly dissuaded from eating at their restaurant as the had 70 pple in and they were worried about the waitRooms old and over priced. Mini bar empty. Website says rooms overlook foreshore, most overlook a car park.
