Fools Diner - Thai restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh
The food is delicious 🤤 highly recommended.
Great place. One of my favorite place in Dhaka. Very soothing environment and design with some good music. The food is very tasteful and portion wise very well. Tried their sea food and salads before, they were top notch.Recently had chicken bento and chicken grilled set meal. They were amazing. Ill recommend everyone.
The ambience was nice, but the curries were a little too salted for my taste. If youre there, stay away from the starters and drinks. Both of them are average in quality, but costs a lot.Try seafood soup, beef items, squid with basil leaf, prawn items etc...
The ambience and food is great. Their staffs are very cordial and helpful. We had Thai soup and Calamari.✔ Soup taste was great. Had a authentic flavor.✔ Calamari was moderate. A bit to oily for my taste.✔ The ambiance, decoration and music is top notch.✔ Loved their service and behaviour.
I enjoy eating at fools diner. Super delicious and hot food they serve always. No compromise with the service they provide. Taste, ambience, behavior are all very impressive. My personal favorites are; Thai Clear soup, seafood fried rice and spicy garlic chicken. ❤️
A wonderful restaurant with sober, good, healthy and hygienic foods. Nice and calm place.
The food was absolutely delicious. The pricing may be slightly overpriced. The prawn tempura was a disappointment. Dont order prawn tempura. The fried ice cream is a must try. The sushis were to die for as well. My favourite was the avocado shrimp sushi.
Went there after 10 years! Food quality better than before! Enjoyed all items! Will visit again soon!Great food · Cosy atmosphere · Great dessert · Large menu ·Creative cuisine · Fine dining
Not enough quantity. Today I ordered Butter fish and sesame chicken set menu for my office lunch. But the amount was so less, the rice provided in the two meals was meant to be for one meal. The chicken was also tiny. Please increase the quantity moving forward, this is very less for lunch.
This place is a staple for friend groups and family outings. Their food quality is slightly above average, though I wish they changed it up some… But the interior, music and service is excellent.
Small eatery with basic design. But dont be a fool by its look. The food quality is above average.A bit of maintenance is required, especially on the furniture side. Regular dusting is also required as I found dust on the wooden table.Price wise, very reasonable but taste wise, very good.
Great ambience & service.Food isn’t the best.
Very Cozy and nice! Love their atmosphere, good food and service : Refreshingly different interior design from other restaurants. 💗💗I liked this experience here.
I loved their ambience. The place was cosy and most importantly they had an amazing play list 😊I tried the Fried Calamari which was just amazing but had high expectations about Falooda, which was not met. 🙄You can visit this place with both friends and family and relax for a while with some good food.
The squid octopus amount was large . I always go there and order this dish. Today i takeout and the food amount amazed me. Really satisfied. Best food.
Fools diner has a beautiful colorful rustic interior and exterior. Service is pretty good too. Its a great place to chill and eat.We were 3 and ordered the following but felt like, quantity wise, it was too much for us.1. Pinna colada - starting with the item we didnt like. It was not a pinna colada done well.2. Seafood bento box - this is the most popular item for a reason. We did not find a single item in the bento box that did not taste good. I feel it was enough for 2 people but if you are ordering other things too, 3 people can easily share it. In case of many bento boxes, almost all things taste same. But, this is not the case for this bento box. There is the lemony prawn, the crispy and fresh fish, the spicy grilled squid and the crispy octopus. Overall, a really great bento box. Highly recommend3. Fried squid - this was crispy and done well and huge in quantity and best with the sauce the provided4. Black pepper beef - I am not sure this is the exact name on the menu but you will find it. Its a really wholesome and fulfilling dish and again, easily can be shared by 2-3 people5. Egg fried rice - this was not your typical egg fried rice. It had a little desi twist to it in terms of fragrance. It was decent and simple and can be shared by 2 people easily. Its a good side for gravy dishes6. Mango kulfi - if we werent so full, this could have been a highlight. Its really good. You wont regret. But, the way it is served, its not very comfortable eating it.Overall, good experience
A little cozy place in the busy streets of Dhaka, nice ambience which give calm and peaceful experience. The staffs are well trained to cater to any sort of requests and the food is good except for the seafood pad thai which felt very greasy which was the only negative bit. Overall a nice place to go out for a date or hangout for 2-6 people according to the table sizes
Cool and Cozy ambience combined with great food!
They have amazing food menu. It’s just they take really long to serve at the table after placing the order!
Absolutely love this place. The ambience, the music, the food - everything is amazing. I regularly visit here alone or with friends. One of the few places in Banani that isnt very crowded. You can have a peaceful meal.
Easily 5 stars! From a foreigner perspective, this place has the friendliest waiters, serving good delicious food. Had the Grilled Chicken and it was nice and tender. Pricing is affordable too.One of plus point is the environment. Does a bit look like Vietnamese style cafe.
Their food is excellent, and I enjoy the atmosphere, which is reminiscent of the 1990s. Their price is expensive, in my opinion, for the location. Its the best. I love their grilled octopus and squid. Whenever I go there, I always order it.
One of the best places in Dhaka to try seafood! I found best as a starter, their fried calamari rings. Cozy small place with delicious foods.
Food was really good. Food price a bit high compared to the quantity. Liked the service and ambiance.
Loved their food. Specially those sushi. They are amazing.but food is too good. And this time tried their iftaar platter,Which consists of dates, clear vegetable soup, prawn and veg tempura, chicken maki, dumpling, fried rice, amazonian chicken, honey glazed wings, grilled fish salad, lemok juice and chocolate rolls.apart from the wings, every item was amazing.
I love their peaceful atmosphere at restaurants. The food was also delicious. The dessert food was mouthwatering. Although I dont like their faluda.
I had the seafood pad Thai. It had very little seafood in it. It was good.
An amazing place to visit with friends in a lazy evening. Having chat with delicious foods can make your visit even more worthy. One should try Fools Diner Special Bento Box....to get sushi with soup, fried rice, tempura and ice cream. I just love it ....and always do.
We tried grilled squid and octopus. That dish was one of a kind and so was their seafood fried rice.all the dishes we tried were tasty. The environment was pleasant. However the one thing that was really bad in all that was the long serving time.
The place is very small and was crowded the last time I visited. Interior is nice and the soft lighting is also quite good.I tried Teriyaki Chicken Platter, French Fry and coffee. Rice was good, but Teriyaki chicken was soft but too salty. French fry and coffee was okay.Price: Expensive. To give an idea, French Fry is 185 tk (plus vatand those are just regular fries, not even with spicy masala. For regular fries, the taste is okay though.
Visited one of my favourite restaurants after over three years and took some items that I hadn’t tried before.Grilled squid & octopus- Both squid and octopus were soft and grilled perfectly. Had smoky flavours from grilling, not rubbery or chewy at all. Recommended!Price bdt 425Larb Gai salad- Salad tasted great but beware it’s strong, spicy kick might give you runny nose and teary eyes.Price bdt 285Lemon & garlic whole fish (steamed)- It was not the best whole steamed fish I ever had but it was great for the price. The fish tasted good but the lemon and garlic sauce could be better.Price bdt 720Chicken basil leaf (bdt 320), Beef with chilli paste (bdt 395), Prawn with green chilli (bdt 355)Out of the three the Chicken basil leaf curry was the best. It tastes like classic Thai basil chicken curry.Beef was not hot like the name suggests, it had mild spicy and sweet flavours with chilli paste aroma.Prawn was alright, nothing special.Tropic Thunder- Mocktail with dominant flavours of lemon, mint and sprite. It was alright.Price bdt 195
All time favourite. Love this place. Almost all items are good. Servers are well mannered. Got free dessert few times :)
The sea food bento box and fried calamari tasted great. The mojito n iced tea were so-so (nothing special). Good unique decor with great ambience. The only thing I hated about the place is a lack of a proper parking space.
One of my new favorite in Dhaka. Try their sea food bento box and grilled squid and baby octopus youll definitely love it. Very dry pad Thai noodles didnt like it at all.Good service.Small washroom, road side parking available.
Loved their food, service and ambience. Recommended.
Seafood bento was Yum! 😍 Grilled squid and octopus was so much flavorful. The seafood pad Thai was mediocre. The restaurant has very nice environment with excellent service. Loved it overall.Seafood bento box: 9/10Seafood pad Thai: 6/10
A little gem of a restaurant hidden in an alley in banani. Whatever i have tried in this restaurant been super delicious. Searching for pad thai led me to this place and i was pleasantly surprised with the food. Their chicken cashew nut salad is one of the best in Dhaka and the missing star in my rating is because of the decreasing amount of the salad with my each visit. Also the extra 30% you are paying with the bill as vat+service charge. The place is great to hangout, gives you the vibe of a pub. Anything you try from their menu, all good. Also see if you can order the mango / orange kulfi, you will be surprised 🤗
Ambience: 9/10Service: 9/10Safety and Cleanliness: 8/10Food: 7/10An over-hyped place, in my honest opinion. Food wise, not the best out there. We came here a couple of times in the past but Food quality was really not up to par. After the lockdown, it became worst. I guess people really do come to this place because it is cozy and provides good ambience to bring friends and loved ones.We came here for lunch and ordered the following:California Maki Roll 8/10Nothing amazing. Ive had better ones from Kobe/Ginza, Sumo Sushi. But size wise, its bigger than a bite size.Vietnamese Rolls 4/10Dont get fooled by quantity written on the menu. 6 pieces doesnt mean 6 whole rolls. Its basically 2 rolls cut into 6 pieces. Kind of disappointed. They serve it with a sweet sauce which I also didnt like. I was expecting they will give the fish sauce concoction or the peanut sauce which was supposed to be the dipping sauce for it.Seafood Soup 5/10Extremely spicy compared to when we ordered it previously. Not good.Grilled Chicken Meal 7/10Very bland and very under-marinated chicken.Seafood Pad Thai 0/10Its basically some rice flat noodles with sugar.I ordered one and couldnt eat it. The waiter noticed and offered to give another improved version. And when new one came it just tasted less sweet, but no improvement with the tasted whatsoever. I think that maybe the chef never had experience of eating the original pad thai.Extremely disappointed!Iced Lemon Tea 8/10Quantity is good, but the not the best out there.I couldnt take pictures of the other items ordered because I was already very disappointed and lost my appetite.
A good place for tasty foods. Not a very big place and not a big bunch of people can hangout here. Great for a small group or family. Taste was great and serving time was also fast.
Tried their prawn cake, cauliflower rice and grilled squid and octopus. I liked the cauliflower rice and the squid. Wish the cabbages had some sort of seasoning that came with the prawn cakes.
Antique interior design will makes you feel that you are in a ancient ambience. Price is bit high as they charge 15 % of vat and 10 % of service charge, so you have to pay a total of 25 % extra on your meal. Kudos for their food quality and service.

The atmosphere has a nice cozy feeling to it with a nice relaxing music and songs playing gently in the background. Waiter was very nice. Food was very delicious. I particularly like that plates were brought to the table as they were getting done rather than waiting until everything was ready. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Very nice ambience and good food. Food is tasty and staff is very well behaved. However it is sort of pricey compared to the portions they serve.
I loved this place. Their foods taste so good! Every food is well made, holds fusion asian taste and theyre simply delicious! Given the taste and quantity, pricing is also so good that it can be a budget food. Their music choice is fantastic! Also their decoration is very nice, full points on creativity, something not very common. Anyone can take their friends or loved ones or even go alone treat themselves in this soothing place and feel 100 times better. Definitely recommended.
If you want to have some simple seafoods in a calming atmosphere, the fools diner is a go to place. We have tried their grilled squid and octopus and calamari fry. The grilled squid was yummy with mild but appreciate seasoning that brought out squid taste perfectly. Though for me the calamari fry was a bit oily. Price was quite cheap as well. And if you go there, please try their honey sauce. Its heavenly.
Very nice and cozy place. I find their food very tasty and healthy. I like the fact that they use very little amount of flavoring and still it taste very good. I tried their squid and Mongolian chicken. Squid was amazing. Chicken was good too. I find one thing little irritating that we were six people and there was no place for us to sit together. So we had to sit separately. Otherwise it is a nice place for couple.
Excellent ambience; the whole place has a very retro/vintage feel to it. The food was also very good with great service!Grilled Squid and Octopus 4.5/5Teriyaki Chicken Meal 4/5Grilled King Prawn 3/5Shared a few other dishes from colleagues, I would also recommend the Mongolian Beef. They also gave us complimentary deserts (Messy Choco Rolls).
A cozy place to chill ! Not very large so I would suggest, if you have a one-to-one meeting with somebody, you should check-in ! The decoration and ambience are nice. Foods are delicious and a couple can make their stomachs full by spending 1000-1500 BDT !
I love having egg fried rice and chicken with black pepper at fools diner. There interior is a bit different and cool. Thr place will give you a cozy warm feeling. But they font serve any carbonated drinks rather they serve some of their own customized drinks.
