Came here before a show, food was absolutely delicious and there was a lot to choose from. Service was good too. They even gave me a takeaway box as I couldnt finish all my food.

I cannot thank food for friends enough!! Myself and my partner have always been big fans, but tonight they went above and beyond to accommodate us after our wedding! The service was exemplary! They made us a lovely cake at such a good price and the food, as always was fantastic, cannot recommend them enough.

Wonderful vegggie and vegan food, and if you like a good cocktail come in here and get Jordan to knock you one up, he really knows what hes doing and makes then with absolute love and flair. A friend and I enjoyed the best Margaritas and Espresso Martinis weve ever had in here today, thanks to Jordan.

Wonderful staff, cant do enough for you, really attentive and helpful. The menu is good, but slightly limited, but an excellent vegan repast. Will definitely revisit, to see if the menu changes!

Average food, awful service. Went here a few weeks ago, although we didn’t have a reservation, we were seated begrudgingly and then had our order taken by a middle aged lady (assume it’s the manager?who rolled her eyes and complained when we tried to add items onto our order, within seconds of actually ordering. Very soon after finishing our food, was rudely told we had to hurry up and leave our table as the next reservation had arrived (fair enough, but have some class in the way you say this). The young staff were superb and so lovely, think they felt awkward around this rude lady as well - she really ruined this experience for us too. Would absolutely not recommend or return, real shame.

We had a wonderful time having lunch here. It is on the more expensive side but it was worth it because of the attention to detail with the dishes and how lovely the staff were.We ordered three mains and they were way bigger than we expected for a fancier restaurant, but they still felt pretty light and healthy.I would definitely recommend visiting for a special occasion.

Great menu choice. Delightful and attentive table service. Generous portions, so too good to waste. Supplied boxes for the remainder. And all at a very fair price.

We visited FFF on a Friday night. We had the Mapo Tofu and Sicilian Casareccia, with a side of garlic bread and chips. The portion sizes were very good and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was also lovely, full of plants and beautiful decor. Would definitely visit again!

I cant fault this place. My mum and I always go here for dinner whenever were in Brighton. I love the interior and the atmosphere. The food is always so lush here. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. They even do their own pink lemonade. Fantatsic service. Carmen was absolutely brilliant and just so welcoming and friendly, she looked after us so so well.

This place was alright right. Would’ve given an extra star, if it hadn’t been for the service. Skip out on the mapo tofu. Pictures look good but nothing special or maybe it was just the service?!

I ate here last year and it was great! I was really excited to eat here again tonight but I was very disappointed with the food. This was genuinely the worst food I’ve had eating out in quite a few years. The flavours were totally off, and the dishes left a lot to be desired. Really disappointed :( loved the vegan fish and chips I had here last time! But the new menu is not it.

Not a place for foodies. Was really looking forward to eating here before we arrived. Not great service, fairly expensive, then the food… Mapo Tofu was terrible, we have eaten this dish at many fabulous restaurants in the UK and the flavours here were just not right.Vietnamese tempura banana blossom cold noodles (slopwas paired with what I assume is an overpowering curry powder in the tempura batter - these flavours don’t match.Rice was sloppy and overcooked, disintegrated into the mapo tofu sauce.Fries were a safe bet… we thought. Very oily, the whole plate of them was green (I thought it was the oil they were cooked in but looking at other review photos here they look to be normal coloured fries), served with a sauce so thin it will drip across your table while you share the dish.Won’t be visiting again, much better vegetarian options about. Travelled down from London for a terrible birthday experience. Josh

We ate at Food for Friends 8+ years ago. And it blew our minds. This time it was delightful but not excellent. The curry my wife had was really good and full of flavour. The burger I had was the best burger I had this summer but wasn’t up there with our last experience. So perhaps this would not have been four stars of our last experience had not been as brilliant? We had a lovely evening but decided not to stay for desert or coffee.

Lovely lunch at Food for Friends in Brighton. We were lucky to be accepted as a walk I , but we’re so pleased at the gorgeous menu, friendly staff and lovely location. The food was healthy and delicious, the corn ‘ribs’ were the tastiest thing I’ve ever had!Would definitely recommend when visiting Brighton and would come back again 5/5

Stopped in here for dinner on a Tuesday after making a reservation. The quality of service was lovely from the moment we stepped inside. The menu offers a great range of vegetarian options which we were all eating on this particular night, as well as some good non alcoholic drink options. The tofu appetiser was delicious, as was the artisan breads with hummus & oil for dipping. The aubergine pasta which we all got went down a treat. The goats cheese made the sauce so nice and creamy, and the dish overall was flavoured brilliantly.Loved the decor inside, which felt very fresh, cosy, and relaxing. I do think it could’ve benefited from some quiet background music playing though, something quite mellow and chilled to further enhance the relaxed, casual vibe.

We ordered the plate of breads & dips, the crispy tofu & each of us had the aubergine linguini dish (due to ingredient availability there were a number of dishes on the menu that were unavailable at the time we visited). Everything that we ordered was full of flavour, delicious and satisfying. I attended with my partner and a friend who was visiting from out of town and we were all really happy with our meals. They dont have mocktails on the menu but the waiter kindly offered to make some up for us but we ended up ordering some non-alcoholic beer which they have a couple of on the menu. Ambience wise it was very chill and quiet, almost too quiet at times but a musician began playing outside of the restaurant and that allowed some lovely acoustic tunes to flow in as we were eating. The staff were polite and friendly and there are no complaints re: wait times for service. Overall great option if youre looking for somewhere tasty to enjoy a vegetarian dish.

Very disappointing. The service was poor and when the food finally arrived nearly 45 minutes after we ordered, the majority of it was cold. We also had to chase the waitresses for our drinks order and were given the response “we’re very busy today” when half the restaurant was empty. There are much better vegetarian restaurants out there with more reasonably priced dishes and tastier food.

Been here a number of times over the last few years and have really enjoyed it. Sadly we went to today and so much was unavailable on the menu. Took a non vegan guest with us to impress and sadly everything they wanted on the menu wasn’t available.Food we ordered was tasty and portions were good but seems to have gotten very expensive recently and a reduction on the menu options doesn’t help. £9 for a desert is not normal for this type of place in my opinionLittle annoyed that we were asked if we wanted some water when we just arrived to then be brought bottled water at £4 a each and they decided how many we wanted, was given two bottles. Need to be a little clearer on that considering they had lots of table water bottles available, felt a bit tricked on that one. Not a good start. We didn’t buy any other drinks.Lastly adding a 10% service charge when we had three different waiters and waited 45mins for food was a bit of a cheek! I Should have asked to remove it and decide what we would like to tip but to be honest we won’t go back for a while now instead.

I really enjoyed my food here. Staff were really lovely too and I didnt feel rushed eating my food. It was warm outside so I tried the watermelon salad. I think they converted me as Im not really used to watermelon in an actual salad but it was lovely. The tofu bites were fantastic too they werent very crispy but I liked that really and the dipping sauce was good too. If Id have had more time I would have come back for dinner!! Its not super cheap but quality taste and presentation are worth paying for.

Overpriced for what it is, I would avoid. As a party of 8 we ordered almost every small plate on the menu to share, and almost all were disappointing and bland. Thoughts in order:1. Arancini - Dry, bland and tasteless. The rice in the balls was completely lacking in seasoning, not even salt, their only flavour came from the mushy garden peas speckled in the rice.2. Watermelon salad - Tiny portion, watermelon was so poorly cut so as to be mushy, included a handful of blistered cherry tomatoes. Totally lacked dressing to tie the dish together, which was a shame as it otherwise looked like a promising and interesting dish but its execution totally failed.3. Aubergine goats cheese linguine - The linguine itself was so bland. There was no salt or seasoning in the sauce, tasted like tomato passata straight out of a can. There were a couple of large chunks of goats cheese atop the linguine dish and I think the chef’s thought might have been that the tangy cheese would balance out the saltless pasta. However this just didn’t work for us, would have preferred well-seasoned pasta without goats cheese altogether.4. Crispy tofu: this was over salted (unlike the rest of our food which almost totally lacked salt and seasoning- made it difficult to taste and appreciate the dipping sauce as the tofu itself was quite overpoweringly salty.5. Thai cauliflower - one of the more ok dishes we had, the florets were soggy and not crispy but the dipping sauce was tasty.6. Bao buns - actually quite tasty, the omni pork was very indistinguishable from actual pork and the fried mushrooms were a good topping.7. Corn ribs - these were also tasty, we enjoyed the sauce and the way the corn was cut into “ribs”. However like a few other reviews here have mentioned, they were extremely small portions - the “ribs” together would barely constitute a single standard cob of corn and it felt extortionate to pay £9 for essentially one cob of corn.8. Bread and olives: standard and we enjoyed the beetroot hummus.9. Chocolate truffles: We ordered chocolate truffles for dessert which though delicious took far too long to arrive given these truffles don’t particularly require cooking time or preparation. Our waiter also forgot that each serving of truffles comes with two shots of espresso, we had to ask for our espressos which only arrived after we’d already finished our truffles. On top of that he’d only brought one shot of espresso for each serving of truffles, so we had to ask for the second shot and that took a while to arrive after as well.Service was also slow and clearly understaffed, our waiter was kind and friendly but clearly seemed to be attending to more tables than he should have. The cutlery was also not particularly clean, we had to replace two wine glasses after the waiter had already filled them with wine as there was food debris floating in the wine (from the unclean glasses). In fairness our waiter was very apologetic and replaced the wine in those glasses. In general we did not think this place was worth the price at all - the flavours of the food were very unmemorable and bland and service could have benefited from more staff. The ambience is beautiful and the food was presented well (even if it didn’t taste particularly impressive), which is why this review is two stars instead of one. Please save your money and go elsewhere.

Although I live in Brighton, this was the first time Ive eaten here. The food was uniformly excellent. No complaints at all, and it was delicious. The disappointment is colossal. We were there and booked, but the service was so slow. From ordering to being told that my dish wasn’t available took 25 mins. So then re ordering and served was even longer. The food was good, as was the service from the friendly ladies - but the lack of attention to detail (like the food people have orderedwas a bad day for them.

Had a lovely date night here this week and the food didnt disappoint at all. Absolutely delicious vegan dishes. Some of the flavour combinations were truly mind-blowing. The vegan meringue dessert is top tier. The service however was excruciatingly slow, especially for a week night . Seemed to be one guy serving the entire main room and I felt sorry for him to be honest as he is clearly a fantastic server.

We left here feeling quite disappointed. The menu looks incredible, but the food doesn’t live up to the hype. Too much attention is placed on decorating every plate with flowers and poorly dressed salad, instead of getting the fundamental flavours right. The thai cauliflower was very soft and mushy, and whilst the arancini balls sound amazing, the risotto rice tastes extremely bland and poor quality garden peas are mixed in - for £9, you expect better. The linguini was nice, but could have been warmer. Service was great, and the menu has a lot of potential

More than anything else, I didn’t think this place was value for money. We ordered two mains (the one we wanted was not available, which was sad since they only have 5-6 mains on their menu in the first place). A main was just shy of £20, but the flavours were not spectacular. It was very home-style cooking in my opinion. Sure the pasta looked fancy, but I’d rather eat in an Italian place.Perhaps it’s better for just wine and nibbles.

Food for Friends, is exactly that. I arrived without pre booking a table and fortunate to get one. They were very accommodating as I was on my mobility scooter which isnt easy and they made me feel very welcome and comfortable nothing was to much trouble the staff there were absolutely brilliant and friendly. The food was excellent I had the artisan breads and roasted root salad delicious. Great place to dine, I will definitely be back on my next trip to Brighton. Thank you guys.

Was pretty disappointed after going here. Was highly recommended but really did not even come close to living up to its promise. The curry lacked salt. The pasta was average at best but really did not have the oomph of good pasta and traditional Italian seasoning. Really was looking forward to the ramen but I guess they did not have that. They kept 3 salads in mains and the waiter himself said they would not be filling(why are they a main then?maybe it’s because they have only 5 things 3 of which are salads on their menu + small plates.. but judging by their mains I’d assume their small bites are basically nibbles.

Love the restaurant. Dont like the short shrift I was given by the teacher that was manning the station. The owner kady breezed through and wave me at the Marm who seemed to have had a particularly tough day. Service was good. Food was as ever great. The pea soup was lovely except a bit sweet.

We love Food for Friends so much weve been here 3 times in a month. Id give it 6 stars out of 5, if I could. The staff are always lovely, welcoming and, well, great at their jobs! The food is genuinely wonderful (but give it a miss if you only eat meat, obvs). And its a great spot in the Lanes for people watching and enjoying the sun. Go there. Eat the corn ribs. And halloumi fries.

Great food and wine, fancy place. I went there for lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the banana blossom fish and chips and it was incredible! Tasty, savoury, the chips were just perfect as well as the mash pea and mint. The wine was just fine too. I will come back to try the other vegan meals, for sure.

Great vegan/vegetarian spot in Brighton. We were seated next to a table of three very rude women who proceeded to complain loudly about every single thing on the menu (and complain about millennials and how they’ve ruined food for “old school vegetarians”). They were also very rude to the staff, and the manager very calmly and professionally asked them to leave (which we all appreciated!)Aside from that, it didn’t ruin the meal as the food was amazing. I had the beer-battered banana blossom which was really good. Service was also great - definitely one to return to!

We had an amazing meal at Food For Friends just after the most recent lockdown had ended, to celebrate (slightly belatedlyour anniversary. The staff were really warm and welcoming in what must be uncertain times for them, which made me think its being well managed from that point of view. The food came promptly and in good portions. First and foremost, the corn on the cob ribs are something to behold. Theyre an unassuming item on the menu, but really over deliver. Bao buns were ace, deep-fried cauliflower delicious and some top notch chips and all worked well. Thoughtfully we got a little plate of anniversary truffles, but followed them with some sumptuous deserts including a fantastic affogato. All in all highly recommended.

Had an amazing birthday meal here, the staff made every effort to make it an excellent experience for us, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a excellent table in a quieter part of the restaurant which was helpful for those in our family who are hard of hearing. We also had money off our meal as they are continuing the eat our to help our scheme. They kept our water topped up (which is always annoying in other restaurants when they don’t do that!), apologised for food being late (we hadn’t even realised ourselvesand when an item wasn’t available on the menus went out of their way to rectify the situation. The food was outstanding and the drinks menu was excellent. Our server Francesca was excellent and she really made it a great evening - she even brought us complementary bread and birthday truffles!

But if you book ahead or are very lucky and get a table when you just rock up, youll definitely be rewarded!Beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous selection of vegan and vegetarian meals. I popped in for lunch and had the most delicious bread selection as a starter, and a cold noodle salad as a main.Brilliant flavours, very fresh food, and flawless presentation. Award winning vegan and vegetarian restaurant. We have been going there for years and always enjoyed the experience. The cocktails are superb so do treat yourself - it is wort it! The service is excellent and they make you feel you are looked after. The hardest thing is not ordering every single course. I found out that an afogato to finish it off is the best way to go. It confirms its fame. Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, they took care of me during my whole stay. Well presented food. I had olives, courgette kofta and garlic & rosemary potatoes. A vegan dinner of a certain refinement. I definitely plan to return when I am back in Brighton and bring friends.
