The state fair is my favorite event in Nebraska it is so fun and entertaining. I can’t wait for next year’s fair.

We went to the Nebraska State Fair on 9/4/22, which was located at Fonner Park. I was amazed at all the work theyve done. Theyve added benches and seating all over the fair area which is so nice, especially since Im elderly. So many areas have been landscaped which has greatly added to the beauty of the Fair grounds. I cant say enough about how modern & well-maintained the buildings are (& air-conditioned). The restrooms were clean and unlittered, amazingly so since there was such a huge crowd of fairgoers. There are shuttles to move people through the fairgrounds who prefer not to do a lot of walking; also walkers, wheelchairs, & scooters were available for rent. I was impressed at the caliber of carnival ride operators...very clean, well-dressed, polite, and attentive to each ride. I liked how they had ropes in the parking areas, creating a more efficient way for fairgoers to get in and out of the parking areas. So many volunteers were all over the Fair and were knowledgeable about the Fair events, pleasant, helpful, and keeping the grounds picked up. Everyone I saw was having a very enjoyable experience. They had a nice, big selection of food services and long lines showed the most popular. There were wonderful, day-long free events/entertainment for families to enjoy.

Good place to have the State Fair. But feel like there needs to be more places to get drinks. Instead of going aways to get a drink and or refill.

Went to see Jeff Dunham at State Fair. Great show but poorly thought out for seating for the general admission people. They should have either sold tickets for the amount of seating only or put out more chairs and still only sold for amount of chairs available. Then when sold out, sale for standing room only ( only it would be sitting on the ground only ).

I go like every year because my son always go to state.

We were there for th Nebraska State Fair. Wonderful experience! Clean, well marked, well maintained, easy to walk but also trolleys available.

When you go to a keno place you kind of expect them to have a working ATM but nope not here and nobody seemed to care did nothing to assist me in finding one close by either guess they dont need the business

BEWARE IF SEEKING EMPLOYMENT ON THE BACKSIDE! Fonner Park racing officials will not help you seek money owed from deadbeat trainers! The end of January 2022, I worked three, ten hour days, setting up stalls, getting horses settled in, and even sent horses to track, the second and third days. We had no hot walking machine, got them all out and walked by hand. The trainer left the very first morning, and headed back to Oklahoma. He left his grooms there with no money, I had to buy their breakfast the second morning, they didn’t even have beds for their tack rooms, I never saw the trainer again. I stayed four nights at the Rodeway and Super 8, gas money from NW Iowa, and meals. VERY SAD PLACE!

Went upstairs to get a coffee, and hang out in between the horse races. Sat down at a seat yourself table, and waited to get service.. I waited for 30 minutes, before going to the bar and complaining about not being acknowledged. The servers section that i was sitting in. walked past me a good five times, Without asking if I had been checked on, or served. When I asked her why. she said because she thought I had been served. But my question is, why wouldnt you ask? As a server. When a new person sits in your section. isnt it standard operating procedure. To go over there, introduce yourself, and ask if theyve been helped? Even if youre not sure? I believe it is. Especially when youre checking on other tables right in the same vicinity, and offering help to another family that stands right in front of my table. There is no excuse for service like this. My first time here as well... smh

State fair was OK There were a lot of food vendors and the exhibits were pretty neat. Watching the cows and sheep being in competition was pretty neat to watch and see how they rate each animal for ribbons

Attended state fair at this location. Its nice to see that the grounds are developing. Displays & trees are starting to grow.

Fonner Park is home to the Nebraska State Fair. I have been a participant for several years and I can and will say, this is one of the most organized events I have had the pleasure of attending. Everyone works to make sure your visit, participation, or vending experience is TOP NOTCH. I could share a lot of stories of the fair but thats for another time. Go out and experience it for yourself!

I won $50 again 2day!$!$ and then left while I was a winner. The foods good and inexpensive. The staff was inattentive and left us sitting there even though there was hardly anyone in the place but other employees were helpful and nice about cashing me out even though I didnt have valid id apparently. Ill go back for some horse racing and slots for sure.

We had a great time there! Appreciate their efforts and mask policy. Facility was clean, lines were not too long, and it was a lot of fun!

HECK yeah! I love "Worlds Largest" anything. I was excited to find these. My grandpa wore overalls everyday of his life. 1907-1995. Fun little stop, reading all about Nebraska. Worth it.

State Fair Park has some of the best facilities for a fairground. Air Conditioned Show Ring!!!

Won rodeo tickets from my job it was amazingly fun time bonus was got to enjoy with my youngest son.

Its a great atmosphere with large crowds and plenty of food/beer vendors. The betting lines can get long for live attendants, but there are plenty of ticket kiosks with a short wait. Various seating options from free general admission to club level with your own table and tv.

The keno workers are good but the restaurant service is not good at all we sat in there for over an hour and no one even bothered to come over to our table the waitresses were too busy chatting it up with the bartender you definitely need new waitresses this has happened one other time as well

Always have a great experience at fonner park, we have gone 3 times since we moved here. We played keno although we may not exactly know what we are doing lol. Its just fun. We have ordered a great dinner each time we go, and the food is great. The bartender was very fun and great attitude. We love to visit during the fair. They also have bankshot we have never played but they look very entertaining. We also plan on going to the horse races. Glad we stopped in. Suggested stop.

Loved it. Even though it had rained and everything soaked, the show went on. The staff mostly made up of volunteers were very friendly.Our shuttle drivers were top notch and respectful.All around good job, Grand Island! You do our state proud!!

The State Fair was awesome this year, better than previous years. Food stands, exhibits, live shows, livestock judging, all the friendly, courteous, helpful volunteer staff were superb. The fairgrounds were clean and kept free of debris. Security was clearly present throughout the entire area. Yes... I clearly judge the 2019 Nebraska State Fair "BEST IN SHOW...HANDS DOWN"!!

Please please please fix the parking areas. Too many years with the same issues during the state fair. Nebraska deserves better.Kudos to the shuttle bus drivers though! They were friendly and efficient.

Great place to do so much. Lets see there is the Heartland Event Center for concerts, sporting events, and even large conventions. Its also the home of the Nebraska State Fair, held each year in late August ending on Labor Day. Need space for a Convention? Try the Bosselman Conference located under the Event Center. Then there is the Grand Island City Recreation Field House that houses 4-H exhibits during the State Fair. Next, to that is the Nebraska Building, home offices for the Nebraska State Fair. Then there is the Pinnacle Bank Expo Building that has plenty of space to show off just about anything. South of that is the 5 Points Arena. Great place to put on Livestock events. If you need even more space to show animals there is the Thompson Foods Outdoor and Indoor Arenas. Above the Fonner Park Concourse, you will find Fonner Keno Casino great place to dine. Oh, I almost forgot Fonner Park Race Track, which started it all, for live and simulcast horse racing.

State Fair could have had more places to sit for a bit while walking around the midway. And a fan would be great in the Bingo tent. Otherwise we had a great time.

Hag a great time at the fair a little rain but nothing an umbrella couldnt stop. the quilt display was amazing, so much tallent.

Went to the Danger Football game. It was a great game and fun night. Meet lots of new people and Mascots..as it was Mascot night and First Reponders Night.

Met my family there for our Easter. We all had a great time & the kids loved to give the jockeys high fives after the races. The employees were all very friendly & helpful!

Went to a concert at Fonner Park, very nice place.

Wait staff sucks. Great place if you want to lose your paycheck

Growth I love it. Though rides I want to see something like a Dave and busters I. The beer garden and the exit factor from the parking lot is horrendous. New roads need to be expanded around offering proper turn lanes and even appropriate seasonal traffic lights dependent on events. A hotel offered to musicians artist and or there staff would be a good move perhaps in order to promote venue services.

Excellent place to go, I drove approximately 2 hours to come here for the state Fair and it was a total blast. The rides were fun, the food was amazing, even the games were entertaining. If youve never been to the state Fair, definitely go next year! Its worth it!

First time Ive gone to the State Fair since the move from Lincoln. What a great facility. Plenty of restrooms that are easy to find. The food was delicious and cheap. The chairlift was a blast. You could see the layout of the whole place, and no hills you have to climb. I will be back.

Great Concert The Righteous Brothers! The Nebr. State Fair is Great.Two suggestions.....the food is becoming a little pricey! Hard for some familys to afford? Good thing there are days also that the Gate price is cheaper to get in.This is helpful for so many people!!

Fonner Park is a well known historic grounds for live horse racing in Nebraska. Home of the Nebraska State Fair, it is a wonderful place for many other events throughout the year. From rodeos to rock concerts, the facilities here are amazing. Lots of free parking. Keno year round, a cafe with delicious hamburgers and more, and live horse racing begins in February. Its a must see for everyone who visits Grand Island.

I loved to come here every year. Its my favorite end of summer thing.

Good day at state fair.Too bad only one concert. I know several people who thought they could get tickets when they got there and then couldnt go to the concert. The process to get into concert needed some improvement also.Curious how any people bought tickets online and were charged more than $6.00.

Assortment of arenas and barns. Very spacious and plenty of parking. The facilities were clean and air conditioned.
