Flying Biscuit Cafe in Marietta

The food was aight. Not worth two hours of my time, though. Things I wish I had known before attempting this place:The 30 minute wait time to get a table quickly turned into an hour. It took 45 minutes to get an egg scramble and a waffle. The health inspection rating was 90, if that’s something you look for. The “peaches and cream” waffle was literally canned peaches and canned whipped cream. I understand most places are short staffed right now. But I likely won’t be back.

Food was slow to arrive and server was slow refilling our coffees. But food was great!

We came to the Flying Biscuit excited for brunch this morning, we called and asked how long the wait was, she told us 30-40 minutes which was fine. We asked if we could wait in the car and she said yes their service would send a text. I sent my boyfriend in to get us on the list and he was told we could be seated immediately outside with just two people, perfect. I come in and sit where he was seated, which happened to be in direct sunlight with no umbrella available (again, totally fine). What was not fine was the fact that no body came to help us after the fact. No drinks, no food. The table next to us was being serviced regularly, the table behind us (who was sat after we werewas served drinks and had their order taken promptly. We waited for 30 mins all the while being totally skipped over by the staff. Eventually we left incredibly disappointed and hungry. This is the first time we’ve been to The Flying Biscuit.

Easy access, good food, and good service. Its breakfast food, so not a lot of chance for flair, but the value is great and the quality and taste are excellent.

Large group order for delivery through Door Dash, most of our sides were missing. All of our orders were incorrect. Called, no answer, left a message, no return call. If they make an error, its your problem. Ordered hours ahead of time for scheduled delivery, went through 2 door dash delivery drivers because our order was not ready, one of them waited for 15 mins past expected pick up window, then another for another 15 minutes. Our order was not only incorrect but an hour late.

I struggled with this review. I will start with the bad stuff...We had about an hour wait, which was confusing because there were a lot of empty tables (must have been a staffing issue). While we were waiting, we saw no less than 3 couples that were seated but walked out never having even received drinks. One couple left after getting drinks but apparently waited too long for their food. Once we were seated, right next to the kitchen door and the table was a bit sticky.Now for the good part...Once seated, we were waited on immediately. We ordered and served within just a few minutes. The server and her assistant were great and efficient. Also, the food was really good and exactly what was ordered.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I love Flying biscuit, but this location is horrible. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes, which is fine because it was a Saturday. It ended up being an hour. Once we were seated, no one came to take our order for about 15 minutes. 3 parties that were seated after us got their drinks and we hadn’t even given our drink order. We told the host and he said he would get someone over to use right away. No one came. We finally left (not to mention the table next to us left before they got their order as well. They were there way longer than us.Horrible customer service and they obviously need new management.

I am on crutches an had to order delivery. Ordered potatoes, Turkey bacon, biscuit, and gravy. Didn’t get the gravy. The jam the biscuit came with was maybe 1/5th of the way filled and barely enough for half a biscuit. Potatoes were supposed to be “dusted” with something, but just look like frozen cube potatoes. Beyond disappointed with the lack of quality and care. Shouldn’t offer a delivery service if you can’t ensure the people will get what they ordered and paid for. What a rip off.

Excellent 2nd experience! Clifford was the best server weve had in a long time and the rest of the staff seemed to be great as well! Had the Piedmont omlette and it was perfection. This location is extremely well managed. Bravo!!

We went for the Vegan options. The food was just okay. They could benefit from adding margerine to the condiments and Louisiana hot sauce.

We have been there twice. Couldnt get in the door either time. I guess its very good or it wouldnt be so crowded. We will try again when in the area again.

Maybe it was a management problem but the restaurant was empty when we got there and absolutely filthy. The staff was cleaning but it looked like a bomb went off in there. The sinker was them brining my sweetie a coffee with someone elses lipstick on it. Left. Wont go back.

The. Breakfast sandwich was tasty and hot. My mocha iced coffee was yummy. The side of fried potatoes was cold and hard as a rock. Cute vibe with great music sound. Was seated immediately.

Had the Omelette and it was cooked perfectly.The homemade apple butter was awesome and the grits were silky smooth and yummy.The briskets were nice and fluffy and did not taste like dough.All in all food was great and service was spectacular.

Fail to understand why the place gets the good reviews it does. Nothing like The Flying Biscuit on Candler. Walked in was not greeted or welcomed. The young lady who sat us was short and said we will be seated shortly. The server, Clifford was great. The food average, nothing over the top. What an overall disappointment.

This place is amazing! The inside is very colorful, bright, and cheerful. I love the sunflowers on the wall! So fun! The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. Very flavorful and tasty. The shrimp are also big and they give you many! I loved their white cheddar cheese grits. Very creamy. The portions are huge and will fill you up. The biscuits were freshly made and very soft! I also love the homemade jelly spread that taste like apples and cinnamon. The vanilla latte is also good. I love this place! I will definitely be returning!

Really disappointing compared to other Flying Biscuit locations. Server was inattentive. Took 20 minutes for our server to come to our table for the first time, then took 40 minutes for our food (just two entreesto come out. Tables that were sat 10 minutes after us got their food 20 minutes faster. Ordered eggs over medium; one came out busted and dry, the other over super hard. Bacon was floppy and undercooked. Pancakes came out great, but the only syrup they had was flavorless goop that’s not even sweet.

Just left after being seated on the patio, the hostess said someone will be with you shortly. Other tables were seated after us waitresses approached the tables around us, brought water, coffee etc. still no one approached our table. Finally decided to leave explained very cordially to the hostess why.

Fresh food all the time!6.11.2022: Back at the Flying Biscuit. Food is still very fresh but we had to wait about 20-25 minutes for our food due to the kitchen being backed up. Not sure if they were just hot with a big crowd or are short-staffed. Either way we understand but reducing stars from 5 to 4 because we were not told there was a delay in the kitchen. That information is very important to know before you place your order.

Be prepared to wait. Food is delicious but it doesn’t come quickly. Waffles are way better than French toast. Grits are the star of the show for sure! Gave it 4 stars cause our waitress wasn’t friendly or generally concerned about how long we waited for the food but if I was only eating the food then it would be 5 stars.

I LOVE the food! The best customer service Ive experienced. I give all thanks to LEXI! She gives us excellent service, even over the phone when we do online & to go orders!

I have enjoyed breakfast at this location twice. Both visits were delightful. This visit I tried the vegan sausage gravy. Loved it

I am writing this as I am sitting down in their restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for a table-- thats fine, they were busy. Its been 25 minutes since we were seated, nobody has taken our drink order (we waved a waiter down after 15 and still no drinks), and 4 tables that got seated after us have already gotten their drinks/food.After 45 minutes, we finally got the manager after telling him that a few tables that arrived after us had already got their food and were leaving. Food arrived after 50 minutes.Do not recommend, Id give it 0 stars if I could.

Very good food just not enough to feed an adult for the price I paid!! Just be sure when you order to tell them to put enough on your plate that an adult is eating the mail and not a kid because if you pay $15 and you get a kids plate thats not good.. just let them know its a wrong man eating!! Other than that it was pretty good!!

This was me and my daughters first time coming here to celebrate Mothers Day. We get here and the wait for two people 1 hour. I understand that so we go somewhere else where we never get served at all. I suggested we go back to the flying biscuit and just order to go and go home we did just that I come home and this is what we got my daughter was so hurt and so disappointed. We threw it away and I just want her to have her money back. I cannot believe that I look at the food online and it looks good and edible but what I got was awful the grits taste like water mixed with corn meal it had no taste, her chicken was burnt and her mac and cheese grilled was burnt I dont understand.

We entered, the lady at the door didn’t greet us ( first red flag ). We asked to be seated outside, she never responded but took us outside . This lady NEVER came back to check on us . Another kind server Lindsay came after we called her . She was very quick with the drinks but we waited over 40 minutes to receive our meals . We were very very close to leaving before we received our meal . Components were good but the grits was hard . If this post was meant for Lindsay I’d give it 5 stars but it isn’t . It is in regards to the slow service which really needs zero stars. The service is too slow and some of your servers are not polite . We will not be returning .

My boyfriend brought me here based on his previous experience which he described as great. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. It started off hopeful when our 15-20 minute wait turned into a 5 minute wait due to a cancellation. After being seated, our waitress took our drink orders which came out quickly. However, our main dish which included an appetizer took more than 45 minutes and our waitress was not attentive. Not sure why, at minimum, appetizers would take that long! We paid for our drinks and was in full agreement that we would not return.

we came here for a birthday brunch and we brought our dog because they said dogs are allowed in outside seating, but we ended up not being able to bring our dog because they claimed it was going to rain and they couldn’t seat us outside. it didn’t rain during our 30 min wait to get in, our hour long wait to get the food after we ordered, nor while we ate. the food was nice though, it just wasn’t hot when it came out.

Really enjoyed my grits bowl. You can choose up to four toppings. I got two meat toppings without an extra charge! 😁 It’ll fill ya up! Better deal than Waffle House. You even get a biscuit with it! The cranberry apple butter is really good 😋 Great friendly, fast service. The coffee wasn’t too good 😕

For more than a year I’ve visited the Kennesaw location at least 2-3 times a week. I would usually get the breakfast bowl to go. Today I visited and ordered my usual breakfast bowl. Only this time it came in a bowl half the size of the regular bowl. When I inquired about the small bowl, I was told they were out of the larger bowls. The waiter reported my concerns to the manager and I was told the amount of food was the same although the bowl was half the size. I told them I get this bowl regularly and I know the amount is not the same. The manager and staff just looked at me. I requested a refund. The fact that I have patronized this location for over a year and received such lack of customer service, I will never visit and spend money there again.

Absolutely love going to Flying Biscuit for the breakfast brunch time on the weekends. Love getting their Eggstravaganza breakfast, a little bit of everything. Their grist are you die for, oh and you have to get their cranberry apple butter for the biscuits.

I come here often but today was awful. I waited 37 mins for a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit (To-Gothat never came. It kind of would’ve been fine if the people that ordered after me didn’t get their LARGE orders before I did. Like they literally only had to wait 15-20 minutes.The bartender kept saying “Let me go see about your order.” and “It’s coming right up.” Sooooo, I just left without getting a refund because I didn’t have time to wait any longer. So they got a free $10 and somebody got a free sandwich.Probably going to take a break from this place for a minute. That totally messed up my morning.

My daughter and I had the a great experience here at the flying biscuit. The service was on point. The waitress at the bar was polite and professional. She love ❤️ her job and it shows when she speaks and serve her customers. My daughter couldn’t get enough of the biscuits. We are looking forward on coming back.

So the first time me and my lady came to this restaurant, it was great! The second time we were asked to wait while they cleaned off a table and we were sat all the way in the back of the restaurant inches away from the restrooms. After feeling uneasy about the table of choice, we decided not to complain because the restaurant was a little busy. The waiter came over and took our drink order and brought us back styrofoam cups. Looking around the restaurant again at everyone else, on their tables were real glasses. Why were we given styrofoam? Just a very unpleasant experience this time around!

The menu was quite diverse. Service was excellent. Food presentation was very nice.Our only complaints were that the Chicken sausage patties were hard like rubber ...and the biscuits fell apart when you tried to butter them.

I always loved the vibe at this restaurant. It’s pretty cool inside. Take in mind not to take long to eat your food between conversation or thatA/C will make your food cold.The food is delicious and the breakfast meats are sodium nitrate-free. I am health conscious and like to eat foods that I feel good about eating. Their main staple biscuits are good ole fashioned baked that is room temp so if you want it hot....ask. The cheesy grits is a bit watery but still pretty good with the biscuit or eggs. The Hollandaise sauce is sooooo good over Their waffle is huge and so good with a coke. I know you will enjoy it.

Very nice staff quick service. Ordered biscuits and gravy since their main feature are “ fluffy biscuits “ 💥the biscuit was hard as a cookie and seemed stale 💥Guessing the cook figured the gravy would soften it? I didn’t. Mrs had a waffle and it was great.I can’t bring myself to return. Sorry 😞

My husband brought me here for brunch and must I say their food is delicious. My Husband got the Grit bowl that included four toppings. He chose bacon, sausage, eggs, and salmon. Coming from someone that does not like grits, the Flying Biscuit Grit bowl was delicious. I got the Drops of Jupiter which included two buttermilk pancakes, a choice of sausage or bacon "I got the bacon, and a bowl of their "Moon Dust" potatoes. Also, they have a great drink menu and we enjoyed the mimosa flights.The food was so good I forgot to take pictures of the food when it came to the table.

Hubby and I decided to try this place out and were not disappointed. It was busy but we were quickly taken care of. The menu offered many choices. My husband ordered steak and eggs and I had bacon egg grit bowl. Hit the spot!!

We had Anna as a server and she was really on point taking care of our needs. She was quick and efficient and the food was excellent. It was my moms birthday and she was super excited to eat here for the first time. She loved the food! Nice home cooked taste. Thanks Anna for making my mom’s bday special!

Flying Biscuit Cafe one of my go to spots in the area to grab some breakfast on the mornings I dont feel like cooking. Its not that huge inside but they do have like a little bar area with stools you can sit at. I went there maybe an hour before they closed and it was only two other guests inside . Its an causal dine in restaurant and great for families. The menu have different options that will satisfy anyone taste buds. #dishwithchris

This is a great breakfast option in the area. They are usually pretty crowded weekends but service is still great. My favorite is the salmon scramble, it is amazing.

First visit. Good service despite the fact they were short staffed and extremely busy. Packed house. 45 min wait, but they texted when our table was available. The food was absolutely wonderful. They have a sauce that reminds me of melted homemade ice cream yum! Our family of five +1 ALL loved it. French toast, biscuit and gravy, hash browns, all were the best.

AMAZING menu choices. I had the strawberry cheesecake stuffed French toast with bacon, coffee and a side of shrimp and grits. My mouth was overwhelmed with flavor! It was so good. Service was great. Ill be back like Arnold!

This is my second time at the Kennesaw location. The first time we dined in it was awesome. We order the pimento burger and chorizo hash bowl. Today we order to go and the food was less than desirable. My daughter’s burger was over cooked and cold. My eggs were not over medium on the bowl. The peppers and onions were not cooked this time either.Don’t order to go, dine in is the only way to ensure quality food.

This was my first time eating at Flying Biscuit Cafe. The food was really good as was the services but prices were a little high. I had 2 eggs (I chose scrambledwith cheese (upcharge), 3 strips of bacon (good but a tad undercooked for my preference), grits (yum), & a biscuit (very soft & delicious), which comes with their special butter on the side (I think she said it was raspberry cinnamon but not sure), which was really good. Overall Id recommend the place & I would return.

The wait was about 30 mins, they have little pagers which is good. It’s very small inside we had a high top table which even smaller. Waited 30 plus minutes for out food. I have the extravaganza. That came with whole wheat French toast (amazingI got it with the sauces on the side (all 3 the jam some type raspberry purée and a sweet honey cremeTwo eggs, white cheddar grits (they were amazingone chicken sausage pattie and two slices of bacon (which is very thinoverall it wasn’t a bad experience eggs and bacon could’ve been better...

A bit pricey, but really good oatmeal pancakes. The bearnaise sauce wasnt what I expected as it was breaking down into its parts. It tasted good but consistency was not cool. Nice setting and service was awesome. Grits were Amazing!

Flying Biscuit, I wanted this place to feel like a Mom and Pop shop and was reminded it was more commercial now by the service and restaurant layout and location. . The interior decoration was very clever and artsy. The food options were diverse and unique. The food was good, I think the biscuits and gravy needed more seasoning in the gravy, they tasted a bit bland. The food server never returned with the biscuit that I ordered. I would recommend for families. The espresso bar is a nice touch. The location is good for shopping for other things. If you are in a hurry I would not recommend this place. Overall a unique take on brunch if you would like a different breakfast experience.

Great food. Great service. To be honest, I was skeptical at first. A lot of chains like this place let quality or customer service slide. These guys nailed it. Jordan, our server, was friendly and attentive. He listened and went the extra mile to get my eggs "perfect." The place is often busy and crowded. That is the only real complaint—the seating is cramped. You do get to see what every body else ordered at least. The chicken sausage is outstandingly good and not dried. The grits are a bit much for me...very rich and creamy. The biscuit is fluffy and a nice size. But the eggs...this was where they get the 5th star. "Over medium...with lace." Perfect slightly runny center and crisp golden edge all the way around. I had to explain it to the server, but he got the message to the Kitchen. They executed it well.
