My wife and I recently held our solemnisation, tea ceremony and wedding lunch there. Flutes was very accommodative to our requests and the liaison between Flutes and us had been smooth. Joanne Ang, the main liaison for Flutes, was excellent in coordinating with us. She was prompt and anticipates questions, making the restaurant part the least of our concern amidst coordinating with other vendors. The invoicing, payment terms and prices were very transparent, no bill shock nor surprises.Last but not least, we really liked the idea that people with different dietary restrictions could sit together. Our muslim friends, vegetarian friends and people who have food allergies could all dine in a single table. Very inclusive environment.

On the slightly more expensive side, but cant fault the food and certainly alot more reasonable than many other restaurants out there serving similar cuisine.

Beautiful restaurant with good food. Their bread and garlic butter was really tasty. The progression of taste was impressive and plating was pretty. I especially liked the snacks and starters. The fried foie gras was super tasty too. Highly recommend it for a special dinner with a special someone.

I had a great lunch here! I did the 2-course selection and ordered steak frites and a chocolate dessert. The steak and fries were really great! The caramelized onions and sauce were a good combination and the fries were perfectly done. The salad was too acidic though. The reason for the 4/5 stars is the dessert was only okay. I thought it was too chalky and wanted something softer and sweeter.

We made the right decision to have our wedding solemnisation and reception at Flutes! The food, service, ambience and decor were top notch. It was everything we wanted - an intimate event with our dearest friends and families. We had the best experience working with the Flutes team too, who made our planning process and event day very smooth and seamless. Highly recommend!

Love that the location of the restaurant is in the heritage building. However ambience is spoilt by the noise from a nearby event and another table. The servers were great though. The food just average. Hubby had foie gras and steak which pales against So France. I had foie gras and lamb brik. I like the crust of the brik which is thin and crisp. The bread and butter paled against corner Houses. The coffee was nice. The lemon grass Panna cotta was very nice. The chocolate and caramel fudge not as good as the cake or brownie was too hard.Service was great but I would not be back as the food was not up to expectation, especially with the price paid.

We had a wonderful dinner at Flutes 😀 the restaurant is small, but the space between tables are comfortable and the decor is simple but nice. The service from all the staff were fantastic, showering us with details of the the food and drinks they served and paying attention to what we need. The food was marvellous..visually captivating and delicious. Must try!

Came for the Restaurant Story pop-up, and I thought the food was stellar. The concept revolves around telling a story about the chef, Tom Sellers life. Its pretty cool unpacking someones life story while eating beautifully plated food and Sellers was successful in giving us an inkling of his life through this multi-sensory dining experience. For snacks or amuse-bouche, we have the Rabbit Sandwich, which reminds the chef of his time hunting rabbits with his father. The way this star item was prepared is an reinterpretation of the way Sellers father would prepare it: pressed rabbit leg in a polenta skin, fried with citrus-pickled carrots and a tarragon emulsion. Visually, this dish was fun and playful, and I loved that it was served atop a tactile snippet of fresh moss. In the mouth, it was surprisingly light and for someone who never had rabbit, it didnt feel gamey. The Tuna Tart was a jam-packed of flavours in your mouth. Bluefin belly and loin tartare, seasoned with tomato ponzu and housed in this house-made pastry of dried tomato and nori seaweed leather. It was full of umami and utter perfection. This was followed up by Sellers Asian-inspired take on Oysters Rockefeller, one of his favourite dishes.I personally thought the oysters barbequed in chicken fat and XO sauce brightened with finger limes was divine.I loved that they served bread cooked in beef fat. Its quite uncommon, but apparently, this was how the chefs mother would bake bread when he was a child. The next dish is a reminiscence of the chefs time at Noma: thinly sliced scallops pickled in homemade elderflower vinegar, with caviar, cucumber spheres, sweet apple gel and horseradish cream split with dill oil. This was so refreshing and I loved the texture via the crunch from the cucumber and the caviar. The A5 wagyu loin, marinated an hour with shio koji was also excellent and super playful. It had crispy kombu, half a sake-poached plum, shavings of ox tongue pastrami, and blobs of tart sauce Japonaise made from a recipe picked up from the chefs time at three-Michelin star Per Se.Strawberry, the main desserts was visually very pretty and it features the chefs childhood favourite parma violet ice cream, paired with strawberry sorbet, on top of slices of strawberries, strawberry consommé and white chocolate fellutine. Personally, I prefer dark chocolate, but this dish felt very light and summer-ish, which suits the weather here.Moving on to treats, I like the deconstructed carrot cake. The pastry is supposedly made from carrot and contains spiced carrot cake sponge, carrot gel, cream cheese, grated walnut, and dehydrated carrot. The chocolate filled with citrusy yuzu caramel, and decorated with abstract splatters was inspired by the paintings at Flutes.I loved that they included a playlist of songs recommended by various Michelin-star chefs at the back of the menu, which you could take home! I love the idea of mixed tapes, so knowing Chef Phil Howard listens to Kids by MGMT (one of my favesis pretty fascinating! Good music and food obviously go hand in hand and its interesting to know what some of these chefs listen to. I didnt hear Primal Scream (Gordon Ramsays choicein the playlist, but I did spot Lianne La Havass Age playing in the background. Its not on the list, so Im not too sure if the playlist which Sellers curated for this dining experience was played at all.Overall, I would say this was a very cool and fun experience. Tom Sellers innovation does shine through, and it would take a discerning diner to fully appreciate his work. And I also loved the table setting. I noticed the flower arrangements also used moss and flowers that ties back to the dishes, and clearly, there was a lot of thought that went into how the food was presented.I would also say the front of the house team did an amazing job explaining the food to us, and how we should eat certain dishes. Definitely appreciated.

Restaurant Story popup @ Flutes. 4 course with wine pairing. I enjoyed the meal and slightly puzzled with the thinking behind oyster swimming in chicken fat. Plating was good. Service was a little too rushed. Wine pairing was superb.

I had their tasting menu - 5 course + 2 add ons. Total 7 course, and also wine pairing. It was a quiet and very unassuming kinda ambience. Most dishes were awesome. I like especially the quail and steak, they were delicious, tender and all the condiments come together very well. Lobster laksa/ spaghetti was in my opinion so-so, too salty and nothing special honestly. Pan fried foie gras was yummy - I usually dont like foie gras but the way this was prepared suited my palette. I hope they keep the standard and their pricing. Pricing is in my opinion reasonable for the food and wine Im getting. 118 ++ for 5 course, additional 18 and 22 for the 2 optional course, and 88 dollars for 5 glasses of wine pairing. Im looking forward to go back again.

Love the service here. Theyre very attentive! The place was quiet too, great for intimate lunchWent for the $45++ 3 course lunch, they dont have ala carte. Toppedup $12 for the truffle fries. The truffle fries was nice, very crispy and not soggy eventhough it’s been a while. The asparagus soup was nice, not too salty, not too sweet and the prawn were fresh and sweet eventho just few pieces. The barramundi abit oily. But overall was not too bad for the price and service. The dessert so so only haha

The satisfaction with the service of this restaurant started during my planning 2 months before the actual visit. The staff remembered and noted every allergy and preference detail, and provided all the assistance needed for the reservation. On the day of visit, Im pleasantly surprised with the amuse bouche, the texture of the different items on the plate, the taste, the flavours that blend so well together. The entire dinner was divine. I never had to ask for water top-up once, the service crew was so observant that before I finished my glass of water, he was there to top it up. Excellent! Will definitely recommend!

Held my solemnization + wedding dinner there - had an amazing experience. Loved the ambience (of the terrace), the food quality & the service from the staff.Joanne, who is the coordinator of my wedding was excellent in her service as well - from the first days of the planning phase to the actual wedding day. Strongly recommend people who plan to have a smaller-scale wedding to consider holding their solemnization/ wedding here

The first time my husband and I visited flutes, we fell in love with it immediately. We always wanted to do an outdoor solemnisation but everyone knows how erratic sg weather can be. We didn’t want our guests to suffer under the hot scorching sun nor be drenched in a sudden downpour. The outdoor-indoor solemnisation terrace area at Flutes was perfect! We love how the space of their private dining room, it was perfect for our intimate ROM crowd. My venue coordinator, Joanne was also super helpful and prompt in her WhatsApp replies! On the day itself, the service and help rendered by the flutes team went above and beyond. We had multiple requests that Flutes managed to help us without any issues at all. Feedback from the guests on the food were all positive as well and all of us enjoyed our time there. We had absolutely nothing to worry about as bride and groom!

Went there to celebrate my partner’s birthday. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Fine dining at an affordable price. The set meal comes with beef & duck which my partner don’t take, Ruth was so patient & accommodative in taking my request to replace them with other chief recommended replacements. Everything turned out to be better than I expected. Will definitely recommend this place to friends & family. 👍💪

We went to this restaurant back after many years as we heard good things about it from our friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. Starting off with ambience, the restaurants sits on a historic building and the restaurant itself bodes well with the buildings surrounding and had great interior, warm and nicely decorated. Service was overall ok and had no complaints whatsoever and the service staff were well trained, attentive and provided good service throughout our sitting. We choose the 5 course meal and loved every single course. The ingredients they use are all premium like crab, lobster, truffle, etc and they were all paired nicely with veges, other elements that didnt overpower the main ingredient and let the main ingredient shine. Overall the cooking style is very much Australian and decorated beautifully which makes each course visually stunning and delicate on the pallet. Loved every single course and found it was a great value at $98++.The wine list is extensive with great selection of wine from both old world and new world and felt most of the mid range wines are moderately priced.

Had 7 course menu with wine pairing. Overall we had an awesome dinner at this place and the servers are amazingly attentive and friendly to us.Almost every dish served gave us "wow" feeling when we tasted it. Definitely something out of ordinary. My favourite will be the foie gras. It has this crunchy taste on the outside and jelly burst texture when you bite it.However, we found that one dish that taste just ok which is the dessert, creme caramel. It is a bit tasteless for our tongue. The wine pairing is something that I really recommend. Every single wine was smooth and match perfectly with every dishes.Service was very good. In the beginning we were seated near the entrance. Then the museum was started doing some work and making a lot of loud construction noises. It was a bit hard for us to hear each other when talking. The server then noticed and closed the door for us. However, a lot of people going in and out to the restroom. Furthermore, we started to smell strong paint fumes from our table. One of the servers then moved us to a different table far from the door. Definitely saved our dinner experience.

Amazing food and fantastic service. Ambience was also soothing and pleasant. Two thumbs up.We went for the five-course dinner ($88on a Saturday night. The meal started with something labelled as "snacks". Whatever that meant... it turned out to be canape served beautifully - fish croquette, kangaroo meat on a beetroot rice cracker and caramelised onions in a pastry shell. Fish croquette was served very hot, which is always a good sign to me. As I am averse to eating kanagroo meat (it evoked images of cute hoppy creatures being slaughtered), I gave this a pass. I really enjoyed the caramelised onions in the tart. It looked simple, and yet tasted great. We were then served warm bread with this amazing salted butter. There is just something about that butter. By the way, you can always ask for a refill of bread and butter throughout the entire meal. The starter was "Carpaccio of Wagyu Beef". This was served with avruga caviar, quail eggs and an assortment of radish. Eaten individually, there was nothing special. Eaten together, there was an explosion of flavours and textures. This was my favourite dish of the meal.Next up was "Western King Prawn Tortellini" served on a tiny pond of lobster bisque. This was somewhat disappointing. The tortellini was served lukewarm and was more on the harder side. There was also very little lobster bisque. Then came "Fillet of Cone Bay Barramundi" with yellow oyster mushrooms and roasted duck consomme. The skin of the Barramundi was crispy. Throughout this course, there was also that pleasant hint of roast duck. The main was "Wanderer Beef Striploin" served medium. The steak was nicely seared and oh so juicy! The black garlic sauce added a very nice touch.Desert was labelled Lemon "Meringue". The quotation marks on the menu got me wondering - is it or is it not a meringue? What arrived was a soft meringue (or at least I thought it was a meringue). The pairing with soursop sorbet, passionfruit, raspberry and orange was wonderful. Sweet and sour. Very nicely balanced!

Beautiful weekday set lunch. We ordered 2 course set lunch. It’s good especially the beetroot starter, so refreshing and nicely done! But the lamb shoulder wrapper is not so nice, too salty. The fish is good.I booked this place for birthday lunch with my friend and put ‘birthday celebration’ on the remarks of my online reservation .However, the restaurant did not take note ofthis . When I saw them serving the next table with the birthday dessert, I requested for mine. And the waiter wanted proof of my reservation remarks, that was really not nice. They would have scored 5 stars from me if not for the sub standard service.Food is generally good and it is a pretty place to dine in. Plating is good. Ambience is good too. But hospitality is really lacking .

I brought the wifey here for Valentine’s Day dinner. We took the second seating for the Valentine’s Day set menu. At $245++ for both of us for 5 courses, this was a decent deal. However, there was no amuse bouche nor petits fours. Not even an after dinner query, “Would you like any tea or coffee?”Service was OK; we were seated in a side room and the poor waiter was obviously overworked. We were seated at a table that wobbled like mad and we had to call the waiter to fix the balance. The food was quite good and overall, I would come back for the food. But don’t expect a high end fine dining experience - it’s definitely not Michelin grade. The wait staff serve you your dishes without explaining what it is, and they have no qualms about serving you by extending their arm directly across your front, which is rather awkward. Not pictured in the photos: like caught trouts

Totally worth the penny.Environment is classy, looks more like fine dining, but price is affordable.I had fish & chips thinking the cod fish maybe those frozen one that you get in an ordinary restaurant, but it came with fresh fish. Would be a 10/10 if the fries are slightly thicker.Nevertheless, excellent quality!

Had my engagement dinner here and it was a wonderful and quiet place to have a nice dinner. I was very pleased with the service and our waiter was very attentive to our needs. I was also delighted by the warm bread and butter served before the start of the whole course. I really enjoyed the gulf prawns as they were fresh and also succulent! The rump was also flavourful according to the medium rare request that I had. I really enjoyed the groper too as Im not a fish person but it was so wonderfully infused with the laksa and papaya flavours that I just slurped everything down. It was simply delectable. I was most surprised by the yogurt panna cotta as it was very unique with rojak flavoured ice shavings. We also had two types of red wine that day to go with our mains - both the fish and rump, one pinot noir and another cabernet sauvignon. All in all a great dining experience ◡̈

It was Friday night yet the place was almost empty due to the two-day Singapore Night Festival. Not only we could get a good table but also the $54++ per person set dinner. The food is excellent and creatively fusion. The service is excellent. The ambiance is refined and colonial themed.A good place for romantic date nights and corporate deal sealing.

Came here for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing night! Ordered foie gras as starter, lamb and suckling pig as mains. The lamb meat was really tender and of good quality, but it’s a bit bland and maybe bit too raw for everyone’s liking. Suckling pig was nice especially with the crab salad on the side. also love the vibe here. The manager Rome was so nice and made our dinner very enjoyable. Will be back again

Very picturesque restaurant. The food was very good. We were there for their lunch set which is affordable and well worth it. I had the foie gras which was as usual, rich, but served with sour berries which was new for me. It balanced the richness of the foie gras. The wagyu cap, I had nothing to complain about apart from the fact that it was served with what seemed like barbeque sauce. The sticky date pudding wasnt quite sticky enough but the sauce was incredibly buttery and rich. One of my dining partners found the panna cotta slightly too sweet. Another dining partner had the fish served with mash and small bits of tomato, which was also very nicely balanced. Overall, we enjoyed the food and ambience very much.
