Delicious food, great customer service & a cosy atmosphere. Worth coming to Brunswick Heads just for this ramen. And don’t miss the dessert!
A once in a lifetime experience (that I hope to repeat someday). A truly special meal.
While Fleet are on a sabbatical - ROCO has taken the reigns and wow, they dont disappoint! This was a birthday surprise and it was a 10/10 experience. Staff are absolutely amazing and a wealth of knowledge and service was impeccable. The food was next level amazing. We still talk about how good the ramen and hand made noodles were - second to none. This place is a must try if you can get in. Well worth the wait. We did the matching Sake with our snacks, ramen and dessert. So so good. When Fleet returns ROCO definitely needs to find a space so we can return beyond December.
Fleet is one of Brunswick Heads iconic Restaurants. If you have the good fortune to score a booking (3 month wait list, yes its worth it), you will have a delicious meal with well prepared unique Australian produce accompanied by excellent service. Its a small venue with a huge heart ❤.
Ramen Bar, high level as expected. We ll be back soon.
5++ stars for Roco ramen @ Fleet. What a beautiful offering of delicious Japanese cuisine, masterfully executed and brought into modernity. The vegetarian ramen was as rich and meaty as the porkiest pork broth Ive had in Japan and elsewhere - so good!! The egg in the ramen was to die for....best egg ever!Amazing drinks menu offering quality sake and cocktails as well as beer and wine staples plus the friendly and efficient service made for the perfect night. We have already rebooked.
Had an absolutely amazing experience here tonight, the staff are lovely and knowledgeable, the food was outstanding, would definitely reccomend.
2nd time at fleet. This time for Ramen. Best cocktails, service and food. Love what you guys do and can’t wait for more!
A really lovely night at Roco Ramen & Sake. Fabulous food, friendly service and the feel of an authentic small Japanese eatery. Was a bit disappointed by the lack of seaweed in my ramen and the noodles being more like fettucini than the tight noodles I usually expect but the broth was rich and full of flavour and the egg was delicious and unctuous. So close to a 5-star for me but just not quite there - Ive eaten my fair share of amazing ramens.
My partner and I spent 4 hours at this beautiful place without even realising. The service was the best we have had in Australia and the food equally matched. Amazing experience.A place that truly values the importance of locally sourced food and the skills to create a culinary experience like no other.
Absolutely gorgeous. Snuck in after a last minute cancellation. Service like a warm hug, modern Australian food done very very well. Great "drinks" match. Seafood heavy as appropriate for the seaside location. Hyper local produce. Worth the effort if you can get in there!
Worth every penny. The most beautiful dishes each with their own story to tell. Olivia was fantastic, so warm and inviting. The cocktails were also so delicious and well balanced. Would highly recommend visiting Fleet (if you can get a booking)
Went for an evening sitting. Most of the dishes were flavoursome but not exceptionally so. The servings were so small they usually only allowed for a few nibbles so it was difficult to get a sense of the taste. If you want fancy however this is the place for you.
After two COVID cancelations we finally made it to this Brunswick Heads institution and it was worth the false starts and the several month wait. The restaurant only seats 10 and with 2 wait staff, two chefs, and an expediter the staff to customer ratio is quite impressive.Theres a fine line between obsequiousness and attentive service and the staff here are always on the right side of the line. They are engaged when conversing and love to share the story of the food and wine that is served. From watching the drinks being constructed to the presentation of the food you are treated to a well choreographed piece of theatre where you are more than just observers. The menu that greets you at your seats lists categories of food and lots of indredients. The hosts explain that the meal will be constructed from a selection of these depending on what the chef has sourced that day. If you have certain preferences or allergies or dislikes then theyll take note of these and vary the menu accordingly. We just said well have what the chef had planned. The meal is served over multiple courses and are shared between, in our case, our party of two. The quantities on each plate are not huge but there are many of them. While all were very good my favourites included the prawn legs with cobra sauce (named after the heat level not the reptile); the beef tongue that was lightly charred and served with wombok; prawn Kiev sanga; the Mahi Mahi Thermador; and the honeycomb dessert. To reiterate though: Id have any of the courses again. The warm bread and cultured butter was also a highlight. My wife opted for the wine pairing which consisted of some very interesting and well matched wines (plus a sake and a beer). The standouts were the Castagna Sauvignon, Combes Cab Franc, and the Amphibolite riesling.I had one full strength drink: again based "gold fashioned" before switching to the soft stuff (a beet and Sancho drink that went well with the savory dishes). The restaurant deserves the accolades its received and the faultless service is an example of how it should be done.
Brilliant. Had a very special late lunch here with my wife. The food is incredible, the matching drinks are so creative and clever, and the service is brilliant. Surely one of the best food experiences in the region, and maybe in Australia!
Had a fantastic lunch / dinner. Great food, really good service. All the food and wine was delightful, and the menu concept was different and interesting. Would love to go back.
Exceptional food, wine and service. A rare gem in Australia and so happy we were able to experience it. Can’t wait to come back!
World class restaurant within a very cool riverside beach town. Chef’s tasting focuses on local ingredients and shared dishes that are excellent. They also have a great wine list with thoughtful notes about each grower. Will definitely return.
If I could give 8 🌟 I would. Might take a while to get a seat but totally worth it. Long story short, simply stunning food and drinks, delivered with honesty and a depth of knowledge rarely found anywhere. The best dining experience Ive had in years, (and it blows some Michelin starred establishments out of the water). Thank you to all the staff @Fleet.
What a wonderful place to come and relax and enjoy a truly delicious meal. Go for the kitchen pick shared menu and paired drinks and go with the flow. You will love it and will be thinking about when you can next return and do it all again. The team are an absolute delight too!
Fleet is a must visit. Remember to plan ahead and book a few months in advance. Fleet is one of the best non pretentious fine dining experiences I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. The amazing food and amazing staff make this place exceptional. Thank you for such an awesome evening.
A cosy crowd, personable staff and most importantly, aesthetic and flavourful food. The dinner degustation was a relaxed affair with ample food paying homage to the beautiful local produce of the north coast.
A very small special place with superb food. The staff are exceedingly professional, the food comes as small serves easily shared, and lots af quality wine by the glass. Just go.
Perfection perfection perfection!!! Was welcomed for the second time that day by the beautiful Astrid and from that point onwards our night just felt like a magical culinary adventure. We opted to go with the kitchen pick shared menu with beverage pairing and why not when your in a Two Hatted restaurant. Just left everything to them and we had the best dining experience ever. Of course everything was amazing and brilliant. What l liked also was the fact that the kitchen was totally open. Nothing was hidden or tucked away. Full exposure which l felt heightened our experience. The service is exceptional and the food is even better. Wish l could go back again and again.
A special place. Intimate, great attention to detail, wonderful drink pairings and interesting delicious food. Also, very good value. We feel very privileged to have spent an evening there. Thank you so much.
Wow, just wow. This restaurant is phenomenal. The private, yet social atmosphere of ~14 guests in a cosy bench-style setting is refreshing compared to traditional restaurants. This is only booster with the brilliant service.Food was exquisite, their tailored suggestions on menu choices where perfect. Rightfully, there is no room for picky eaters.Prices are inline with Sydney, and are more then reasonable considering the limited number of guests.
Next level experience! The restaurant itself is very unassuming but the food and the personalized service was exceptional! A few dishes stood out, namely the roasted pumpkin and the squid. We went for the tasting menu with paired wines, which I would highly recommend as the wines complemented the dishes perfectly. Overall, one of our most memorable dining experiences.
An extraordinary dining experience. It is pricey sure, however the quality and diverse cuisine is outstanding and worth it. We were guided with all of the how, where and whys for each of the courses and each was superb. Missed one star for the seating setup, quite ok but not 5 star like the rest of the experience. As founder and CEO of the APACTO - Australia Tourism Awards, I urge the owner to join enrol.
Awesome dining experience. Caring and attentive service backed by incredible local cuisine. Flavors and freshness a standout. Thanks for looking after our baby girl too, was a pleasure eating out at your place.
This place needs 6*If you want a culinary experience then you should book this place!!The whole experience is AMAZING!Food & drinks:They have a beautiful wine list ensuring you get what you want! The team know their wines, so go ahead and tell what you think you like, or want. They let you try it! If you have no clue that’s fine too, they don’t make you feel dumb as some places do!The food...honestly, just go and try it!!Words won’t do justice to what the chef creates! I promise you.We did the “kitchen pick” and it was really really good! It’s such a cool experience to see a mixture of the most uncommon ingredients together. The staff asks you want you (don’twant, so don’t be scared that you’ll get things you absolutely hate ;)Interior: it has a minimalistic, yet beautiful Scandinavian look & feel. The open kitchen en long “bar” give the place a very cosy “you’re having dinner at a friend’s house” feeling. You’re sitting next to each other, and that leads to nice conversations. It is not a pretentious, chique restaurant, but a sophisticated laid back place to celebrate an intimate birthday or anniversary celebration.Staff: they know their menu and wine list inside out! These are professionals, and a team. The team of three are a streamlined machine. They make sure you get a lot of personal attention, but know when to let you be and give you your privacy.Honestly, the experience comes with a price tag. I brought my partner to celebrate his birthday. I wouldn’t go just randomly. However, if you’re around Byron Bay and you are celebrating or want a very special evening, then indulge yourself (and your +1;)
Magical food totally outside the square!! Very much a special occasion destination! Warm welcome and an intimate dining experience. But we dont REALLY want you to know as we want to keep this gem for ourselves!!Marguerite 😊
Absolutely fantastic food and service. No rush and plenty of options to choose from and can work with dietary requirements. A very personal service to answer your questions and give suggestions we will certainly will be back soon.
One of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service is impeccable, the chef’s creativity and fusion of so many different flavours is incredible, every bite was like being taken on a journey!
From the clean, simple and understated design to the bold, refreshing flavours, everything at Fleet is calculated to deliver a harmonious, engaging and entertaining meal. Whether youre here for a small bite or a succession of tastes, each plate leaves your palette both satiated and wanting more at the same time.
The most beautiful food and delightful staff in Byron. Quite possibly the best food we have ever had. Absolutely stunning.
Our favourite place to dine in the byron shire. Every time we visit the area from sydney we try to dine at fleet. Rob, Josh and Astrid are always soo lovely, the service is always top class without being stuck up we always feel like part of the family, the food is seasonal, creative and delicious with the drinks to match. If you are a local or just visiting do yourself a favour and book in for an intimate dining experience that will not disappoint! Highly recommended!
Amazing and unique restaurant! This is a must try. Need to book 3 months in advance
This place. Oh my god. It’s quite simply one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Definitely the best in Australia. I can’t recommend it enough. You. Must. Go. And do the sharing menu so you can just eat and pick wines (with the Amazing Astrid’s help). Go. Go. Go.
A very special restaurant - The chef delivers a beautifully curated and delicious menu, showcasing local seasonal produce and the wine list is paired perfectly. Staff were warm and we can not wait to visit again!
Exceptional everything - from the welcome to the farewell Astrid and her team excel in every area. The food is amazing and one of the best meals weve had. The wine list impeccable. Fleet will soon be recognised as one of the best restaurants in Australia I have no doubt. Will definitely be back!!
Another outstanding experience at Fleet, this time for my 50th birthday. Highly recommended! Food is exceptional and the dining experience is more akin to being part of live theatre!
Over priced. Whispering staff explaining the dish but barely audible. Is dessert included or not? No clear answer. I really dont understand the good reviews that this restaurant enjoys. I dont recommend.
Had dinner here last night for my 50th Birthday with the family. Absolutely amazing food and drinks. Service is very classy, friendly without an ounce of pretentiousness.Such a lovely team. Go :)
One of the most amazing restaurants Ive ever been to - the innovation, the service and to sit right in front of the chef in action is incredible! Book ahead and you wont regret it!
Believe the hype, for me this place stands out as one of the best in Australia. The cooking is innovative and perfectly executed. Service is friendly, knowledgable, and totally on point. The team works so well together and you can really tell that they enjoy what they do and are proud of it. Its quite difficult to get a seat here so plan ahead. A must if staying in Brunswick and well worth a stay over if you are heading to Byron.
Amazing. The space, staff, food and wine are all absolutely phenomenal! Thanks to Astrid, Josh and Rob for creating such a phenomenal restaurant. A must visit so book in advance of your trip to the area!
It is my favourite place. The service is incomparable, the wine list is incredible and is the best food expereince i have ever had.Oh and dont leave without trying an Old Fashioned
My girlfriend took me here for my birthday. It was an unreal, intimate food and wine experience. Fleet feels like a home away from home, only your mother never cooked this good. Rob is a welcoming host with a surprising knowledge of mixology; try the tumeric margarita, white negroni, or tempt him to reach for a premium dark spirit. Joshs food is to die for. Everything is made to share, whichll make you eye off your neighbouring diners dishes. And while youre there, be sure to dare Astrid to match a wine or two to the food. She has an excellent knowledge of local and foreign wine makers and her passion for some of the biodynamic growers is well-founded.Locals and travellers alike will be welcomed to this warm, down-to-earth establishment. It was a refreshing five star experience that doesnt carry the pretentious tag that usually comes with it. If youre in the Byron area, its only a short drive and is well worth it. Just make sure to book in advance.
