3750 S Flamingo Rd, Davie, FL 33330, United States, Country Walk
Family-friendly botanical garden & wildlife sanctuary with a museum, shows, tram tours & cafe.
Found this place on accident as we were looking for something to do since other plans got canceled for our vacation. The animals looked to be well taken care of and seemed to have plenty of space to roam about. Won’t tell you how much we spent on feeding the flamingos and white ibises, but we did that for a good 30 minutes alone. I can’t post videos but the hyacinth macaw even played peekaboo with us! The trees and flowers were absolutely amazing.
Saw this in many touristy magazines but the experience is so much more than a tourist attraction.First off. The otters rock. These critters are just insane hams and love being watched. Any admission price is more than fully redeemed with the otters.Second, this is just an awesome place to let your inner shutter bug go crazy. Photo opportunities are everywhere. Talk a walk around the lake and just be wowed by the wildlife and the peacefulness of this whole area.If you are a Broward or Miami Dade resident, do this to support the rescue animal cause. This is a very relaxing experience. Take an afternoon and check this off the list.If you are from out of town, don’t miss this photo op.Hint: There is absolutely no mango in the mango smoothie.
Beautiful park. Geared towards families and kids. They have a nice selection of birds, but kind of trapped in small changes. There is a nice orchard area. They have a great selection of water birds and trees and plants. It’s well maintained. There is a lot to see kind of. Most of the park you have to take a tram to see. And it blew fumes in our face and was pretty noxious. We would have rather walked it.
Wonderful morning walking and riding the tram through the park. It September so 2 for 1 for seniors made it a very inexpensive day visit. Food a little high priced. But cheese burger was worth it.
What a fabulous place to visit. We brought our young kids (9 and 5)And had such a fun time. So much to see from all sorts of birds, panther, alligators, eagles and more. The botanical gardens are beautiful and well kept. The history behind the property was very interesting, especially visiting the old family house. Theyve done an excellent job maintaining this property. A must visit!!
It was an interesting place to visit. Beautiful grounds and very pretty flowers. Lots of Banyan trees and one that is huge! The enclosures where the Otters and Black Bear are seemed like they needed an update. The tram tour was interesting but a little difficult to hear and understand the details. I think there are too many cars behind the tram which makes the road seem even more bumpy and uneven plus it makes it noisy. Alyce is a volunteer and she is very knowledgeable about the plants and trees. She walked with us for a while and her information was very interesting. I think they should look into having small walking tours with guides that explain about the interesting things on the paths of the garden.
I was welcomed by a beautiful peacock as I walked into their habitat. I enjoyed Flamingo Gardens. Feeding the Flamingos is an option. There is also a souvenir shop available to buy some items to remember the Gardens.
Easy parking, cute little gift shop and snack bar, beautiful grounds, awesome exhibits. I absolutely love otters and was surprised to see the otters get right up close to the glass. I was in heaven! We went on an overcast and intermittently rainy day which actually turned out great and our pictures were even more beautiful. This place is a must see in my opinion! You won’t be disappointed!
My Best Friend (Kathy& I had a wonderful time here, a little hot 🔥 but understandable since its August. Nice tram tour and walkable grounds. Bianca was very kind and patience with all questions we had. Alyce was one of the volunteers outside (bless her heart, its hotwho guided to the Big tree and she is very knowledgeable about so many things about the Gardens.
Amazing experience. Staff is great and patient. Definitely buy some bird food in the gift shop. Enjoyed feeding the ducks and peacocks! Nice range of beautiful animals. Loved walking around.
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The only place I know of where you can feed the flamingos. For a buck you get a bag and they will even eat it out of your hand. They a black bear, panther, alligator and a great place to watch the otters above and below the water. There is a historic house to visit where the interior has stopped in time. Dont miss to take the guided tour tram of the property. I had Mike who was very informative. I would recommend checking this place out.
Flamingo gardens is one of my favorite places, we visit every time we are in South Florida. Not only is it a beautiful little zoo and a fun place to spend a few hours, they also do so much to rehabilitate wild animals and educate the public. It feels really good spending my money here : My 6 year old daughter loves it here as much as I do. She especially likes feeding the birds, the tram tours, the French fries, the pressed pennies in the gift shop, the wildlife shows, going inside the giant banyan tree, the wooden cutout photo-ops, and the many cats and peacocks that roam the property.
One stop shop for all your landscaping needs, they are pricey but convenient. Huge range from fruit trees to Bonsai Garden. Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. They do have specials events, hayrides, pumpkin painting and etc.
This place is incredible and the staff is amazing! We visited from Michigan and happened to stumble across this place on one of our last days in the area. It was cool and rainy, but that didnt stop us! We had the whole place to ourselves, and even got a private tour through that back half of the grounds - even saw the elusive Soft Shell turtle! The variety of fauna and flora was awesome - especially the birds! But ... Make sure you check out the otters, super cute and entertaining!
I loved this garden. Parking was a breeze. The staff was nice and the tram ride took a load off of my feet. Fortunately for me the weather was nice, cloudy and no rain. The staff clearly loved their jobs and taking care of rescued animals. I spent more time there than I thought. Its shaded in most areas.
One of my favorite places to go in South Florida. It is the perfect place to get kids out and about without going to a beach. Animals roam around (specifically peacocksand you can rent a little buggy for kids. My 2 year old had a blast! A must visit location!!
What an awesome day my daughter and I had here today. We learned a lot about all the cool animals, the gardens were so peaceful and the peacocks wandering around was a great experience. I recommend the train tour, its a great way to rest your legs!
I’ve lived in the Davie/Fort Lauderdale area for over 20 years and has never visited. It is a great botanical garden and animal sanctuary to visit as well as learn about our local history. The grounds are well kept. The tram is a nice tour you don’t want to miss. It is a very shaded park so you don’t have to worry much about the sun. Almost all animals were in their cages and very easy to spot/see.They also have a gift shop with many souvenir options. I would recommend this park if you feel like taking a stroll outdoors and see some animals and interesting plants along the way.
We love Flamingo Gardens! The rotating exhibits are great—always something to see and learn. The kids love wandering around and exploring the garden areas, feeding the flamingoes, visiting the aviary, saying hello to all the exotic birds, watching the otters play, and seeing if they can count the alligators— they get bigger every visit! The tram tour is a gem— all the guides are amazing and very knowledgeable about both flora and fauna, as well as the property and area’s history. We love supporting a local attraction, and enjoy learning something new each time we visit.
My most favorite place on earth! The people here are amazing, they love what they do and are knowledgeable. Candy is the very best and all the managers. Perfect place, Ive been coming here 7 years and when we move ill miss it so very much.
From out of state and was looking for something to do. Omg I’m so so so happy we stopped here! Amazing time and absolutely beautiful. I’m a big nature lover and adore birds, to say I loved it is an understatement. 100/10
I highly recommend visiting Flamingo Gardens it was so beautiful almost an enchanted look. The animals are well kept and very friendly. There was an informative and beautiful tram ride. Flamingo Gardens rescues and cares for injured and abandoned animals. It was not over crowded nor top expensive.
Wonderful place with tons of native (& non-nativecritters and birds. Very nice staff....Daniella Macias is THE BEST! Great wildlife show. Flamingo Gardens also does lots of rescue and rehab work for our wildlife! So happy and proud to have Flamingo Gardens in our neighborhood!
I love that place! Amazing park with birds, trees and flowers. We spent there about 3 hours just working and enjoying the views and atmosphere.Employees really do the great job with love to nature. Also we visited small and cozy museum house, it was nice and very friendly. We will definitely come back)))
We loved this garden! Life music, beautiful animals, parrots and new knowledge. Amazing landscape. Very clean and pleasant.Flamingos are beautiful and weary well organized park to visit!
This place is so peaceful and beautiful. It was perfect to walk around with my 1 year old and see the original trees from 100+ years ago as well as the animals that have been rescued and now live there. Peacocks roam freely and we even saw peachicks! The 20 min tram ride to see more of the property is worth it. You can also feed flamingos and the birds in the aviary, your the Wray house and enjoy a wildlife encounter presentation! Theres a place to grab a quick snack, bite to eat or just drinks!
This place is super cool. All donation based and relatively cheap for admission. The peacocks are just free roaming so you can get as close as you want to them. As well as the iguanas and the lizards. The trolly ride is free and very cool. The show was also cool. I would definitely come here again, it seems like they do care for the animals unlike some zoos.
Enjoyed seeing all the different animals and birds at this garden. Disappointed because hands down we saw way more peacocks than we did flamingos. Enjoyed feeding the birds too. Would recommend for family and kids.
A hidden Gem! We were looking for something to do before catching our flight home and this was the perfect end to a perfect vacation. The prices to get in are reasonable, the place is huge and there is an amazing variety of plants and animals to check out. The best part? You get to feed the flamingos!! Highly recommended.
I went there in early April, 2022. I had an amazing time! The animals and plants were amazing. The organization functions largely as a clinic for animals who can return to the wild after healed, but they also provide a safe haven for animals that are not able to return to the wild. Extremely knowledgeable tour guides and kind staff. If you have a late flight from Fort Lauderdale, it is a great way to spend the afternoon. They have a complementary place you can leave your luggage so you can enjoy the park freely and unencumbered. There is a cute house/museum there with lots of early 1900 furnishings. They have shuttled tours and walking tours and you can also walk around on your own. There are places to get a variety of sandwiches and snacks too. They also had lots of orchids and a beautiful orchid photography exhibit.
Orchids galore! Great place to visit with the family! Get there early to park close... enjoy the shade. Visit the Wray house, read the history, then walk along the back road to see the real hidden gem, or take a tram and see some more...(the hidden wont be seen unless you get off the beaten path!)...
It’s a hidden gem. I wish I had more time to explore the place. They have orchids, animals such as birds, a bear, flamingos, and lots of ducks, and peacocks. They offer tram tours as well. The place seems to be well maintained. The entrance fee costs about $20. 😊
I haven’t been back for some years but what a pleasant surprise. The gardens have gotten even nicer and it feels like you have been transported to a tropical paradise. Great place for families or just to relax from the hustle and bustle. The parking lot gets filled quickly but there is plenty of parking in the lot across the street.
They have a team to talk you around and show you the plants and trip. You can buy food there, My burger from the truck was so good. They have a bird habitation there. Parking is free, I have to pack across the street and walk over. There was no line to enter, I went of Tuesday. There’s only a couple of flamingo and I was expecting to see more, but are all kinds of other birds
Exceeded all expectationsWe happened to come during the bonsai festival, it was absolutely incredible. Music playing, peacocks squacking, birds everywhere.Make sure you take every path, all sorts of plants, orchids, birds around every corner. The trolly is a great way to see the property but make sure you also walk the park, its gorgeous walking trails best seen close. My wife and I stayed for almost 8 hours and the time just flew , absolutely worth a visit.
A wonderful way to spend a few hours of our vacation. I especially liked the aviary where we could be in with the birds. There are peacocks are all over the place and its delightful! Highly recommend visiting this place.
Very pleasant afternoon spent around the park, easily while away a couple of hours here. Lovely collection of pretty and predatory birds. We liked the selection of amphibious animals.
If you were considering visiting a zoo, try visiting here instead!Boasting 60 acres of rich local nature, this is part botanical garden and part wildlife sanctuary.Home to various local native species, they house and care for animals that have permanent injuries and cant be returned to the wild. They have successful breeding programs where the offspring are released to help perpetuate endangered or protected species.
Love this place! It’s the perfect place to show kids animals without taking them to an actual zoo. The peacocks are walking freely and they are beautiful. The little tram ride gives a lot of information on the gardens. We go back a few times every year.
We went to Flamingo Gardens for my daughters birthday. We had such a wonderful time Tabby loves Flamingos. We enjoyed the history of Flamingo Gardens and most of all we loved meeting James. What a wonderful place. We cant wait to visit again
The wife n I just had a great time there. So many different birds to see, and alligators, otters, n a bear too. And many others there. Plus all the plants n trees from all over the world 🌎 that they can fit into 60 acres. Really worth going to in Florida.
If life starts stressing you out, and youre finding yourself screaming, "Serenity Now!!!" numerous times a week, I may have found the cure for you. Flamingo Gardens is 60 acres of peacefulness, giftwrapped with a gift shop, just waiting to welcome you.The space is well taken care of, with massive oaks, fig trees, palms, and ficus providing shade throughout the grounds. The walkways and signs guide you through fern and orchid filled paths. There are free range peacocks at every turn, and the ibis are there to party. Their exhibits are small but entertaining, including the flamingo pond, bird of prey aviary, otter enclosure and a Florida black bear, to name a few. There are 15-20 minute educational talks in the pavilion, showcasing some of the animals who live there.I want to mention and stress that Flamingo Gardens is not a zoo. It is a rehabilitation center, which also provides healthy offspring for release into the wild. I had no idea that was a thing, but Im super happy that it is.On your way out, after learning about all youve seen, you can check out their gift shop, loaded with books, puzzles, tees, stuffed animals, and all types of goodies. You can get your tickets online, or in the gift shop on arrival, so you will also have a chance to check things out then.I was able to get some nice photos, so I plan to be back again soon. You should come check it out. I think you might like it.
The perfect stop for any nature lover! Would have loved to spend the whole day there. You can tell that the staff really care about what they do. There were peacocks everywhere. The animal show was fun and informative. There is tons of shade so you will not be hot. A unique experience for folks of any age!
This is perfect for family outings! They officer military discounts too 🙂. Load your stroller with snacks and water because there is plenty to walk and see. There’s even an educational show where the kids may interact with the animals and ask questions. The staff is very helpful. Bring your cameras for great photo opportunities. There’s even a trolly rides that gives you a tour of the park grounds. You can also walk the same trail and even set up a picnic under the beautiful trees. There’s a banyan tree where they host weddings that is truly magical 🥰. Enjoy!
Very beautiful place. The employees are all very nice, kind, and passionate about what they do. Its amazing the wildlife they have there and its so cool how many of the birds just walk around with you as you explore. Great place for kids!
I decided last minute to go, as Ive never heard of this place before. I absolutely loved it. Flowers and other plants are stunning, the otters are adorable and Ive never seen so many peacocks in my life! Definitely a trip Ill repeat, was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I also loved their nature show.
Enjoyable. We took a long stroll through the back but you can also take a tram. Photographers can get good closeups of birds here. Dont forget to look at some of their champion trees in the front. Military discount.
This was a cool experience with some neat history. Got to feed some flamingos, see a neat nature show, look at all sorts of different plants and learn about them. You will need to plan about two or three hours to get the full experience and walk around but I recommend this place for sure. It seems like they actually care about the wildlife.
this place is truly surreal whether you are a local or a visitor.the wild roaming peacocks are everywhere - feels like at least 100 on the grounds - they will eat right from your hands it is truly amazing.the trees, flowers and other plants they have are massive, beautiful and in many cases rare - from the rainforests of the world over the pond and in South America.the animal exhibits are also great- from a bear, to an awesome entertaining otter area, gators, bobcat panther and turtles among more.they have many beautiful birds of prey from eagles, hawks, to owls.there is also a walk-in aviary where you can get close to many birds including Walter the grumpy massive pelican and walk around and feed them.there is much more and words cant describe the experience and how connected you can become to nature when you are there. we became members after the first trip as the kids loves it too and visit a couple to a few times a month as it never gets old.highly recommended.
This was such a pleasant surprise! The gardens were unbelievably beautiful and so many varieties of trees from all over the world! The flamingos were so much fun to feed and the peacocks roaming and gardens were fun to watch. My kids loved every minute of it. The staff were all nice and very helpful. Theres a tram that had lots of good information about the history of the property and the family that started it all. So much fun! Well worth the price of admission!
