What a lovely small village with a kind of vigil reminder of the past life of convicts and settlers alike. This historical village had a really nice little cafe selling delicious scones with date or plain which goes well with a cup of their english breakfast tea!!

We attended the night show on a Thursday. It is a very popular show especially during school holidays when we went but not over crowded and check in went smoothly. They handed out lanterns per group but all children were given lanterns which was great. The staff were fabulous and entertaining and full of information. Beware the cobblestone streets are a bit tricky to navigate especially in the dark thoughI would recommend doing the day/night tour to make the most of Flagstaff Hill if you can and take a drive to Loch Ard Gorge where the story at Light and Sound show takes place. Gorgeous location

Great day out. History made fun for the kids. Reasonably priced. Book early to take advantage of the night show tickets. Unfortunately we missed put. Shops in operation lolly shop, gift store and coffee shop. The woodshed, kids can construct items for a donation, no set amount.Amazing views from lighthouse.Plenty of artefacts to look at.

A really nice place to visit and explore. Unfortunately besides the lovely gentlemen helping the children with woodworking, finding polite staff was really hard. Especially Madeline I think her name was when we purchased from the gift shop. She really ruined the day for our group. No need to be so rude

Excellent displays, such friendly and helpful staff throughout. Ellen, who gave the talk about Loch Ard, was very interesting and gave a great presentation. The whole experience made our stay in Warrnambool so enjoyable

A great place to visit. Loved the look of the town. Recommend a 12-1pm arrival if you’re coming back for night show as it would be a long day getting there for opening. The show was both entertaining and educational for the kids. The tea shop was overpriced and very average, suggest dropping out to a better local cafe for lunch.

Went during the day to have a look. Had some interesting information and the displays were really well set up. Unfortunately it was starting to look like a bit of maintenance was required.

Having been to warnambool many times but never coming to flagstaff Hill, I only discovered this gem through photos of the great looking maritime village. The staff/tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, the exhibits rival that of the Melbourne museum and the multi million dollar sound and light show was just like you were experiencing a ride in a theme park.Highly recommend people pay this place visit, on their next trip to warnambool.

From the get go and the moment we entered the ticket office...the one and only staff member was on the phone and continued his conversation whilst we waited and waited. Only after 10 minutes and our walking towards the entry door did he acknowledge our presence and say he was busy with someone on the phone and would get our tickets in due course. Very rude. That should have been our cue to leave. But we waited and got tickets to a very tired and dusty maritime village. At 2pm I thought at least the tearooms would be open but alas, the ladies were packed and ready to go. The village needs a little bit of life with real people and working shops and demonstrations of services. Entry fee at $19 is a little on the high side for what we saw and I wouldnt recommend the visit.

"Disneys" site with several ancient stores like a bank, school, blacksmith, dressmaker, saloon, boatmaker and much more. We had a very good help from the lady at the front desk since my partner is disabled and the place has lots of hills and pendants absolutely no easy for someone with walking problems. We stopped at a coffe shop which is part of the exhibition and she had to stop there for scones and some drinks in the meantime I finalised to walk around to the places that she couldnt visit. Most of this places are in need of eliminate cowebs and dirt, some parts look more abandoned than old. Also we encounter two people dressed in as Edwardian/Victorian style, very nice but also I was told that they are volunteers so they need more volunteers to join so this place will look more vivid.Daytime openings works 10 am to 5pm and in nighttime that have a different tour that includes a show with the water.

What a great place to learn history. The kids would enjoy it.You need all day to see the old township ,then you go back at night to see the light show. A ride can be organised when you book your tickets if you are elderly or handicapped to go to the light show. There is a shop you can buy souvenirs. Some of the shops were open but not all, through the week when we went. The lolly shop is worth a visit.

Great historical village and museum about the shipwreck coast. Lots of interesting artefacts recovered from various shipwrecks. Well maintained village and volunteers with lots of knowledge add to the experience. Allow 2 hours to visit. I was disappointed that the tearooms were closed hence only 4 stars!

Great night show and day visit. Would highly recommend both however it would have been good to have a few more actors in the town as we only saw 1 in the printing building and one in the lolly shop. Also the tearoom food is very mediocre and I would stick to the scones.

Undoubtedly, a great place to visit in Warrnambool. Really enjoyed the way the museum and the light and sound show (a must seehave preserved the history of Shipwreck cove. The village experience and the boutique eatery were equally good. However, wasnt impressed by the guide for the day experience. It seemed he was just filling in for someone. Someone more passionate and knowledgeable would make a huge difference.

Entry ticket to the village is $19 per adult. It has an indoor museum which showcase the ship wrecks and the history of the area. Outdoor village showcases the places and the culture that prevailed years ago. Good experience but no activities to do other than the cafe which serves great food

What a beautiful place this is! Takes you back in time! The whole village has been done with such great details that it doesnt feel like its not real. The museum gives so much information to read, the Tearooms are pretty where we had our coffee and scones with beautiful views of the village. The light and sound show at night was worth it too, walking with lanterns in our hand with a tour guide and seeing the show where they told us about the fascinating stories of shipwreck was all amazing! To top it off are the beautiful ocean views just from top of the light house or the hill. The gift centre has a variety of things for every age group and the staff are exceptional.A shoutout to Jill from the staff who made our trip memorable!

Truly a remarkable village setup maintained very well. The view of the sea right across was magnificent. Stroll around this place to relish the English trade setup.Ample of free parking over there so dont worry about it.Nearly attractions to keep you busy in Warrnambool - koala nature reserve and whale watching at Logans Beach.

We went to the sound and light show. We booked our tickets online as it was during school holidays. There are two options to the main show area from the entrance (mini bus or walking option). We took the mini bus - it was only a 5 minute trip. Our bus driver had a lot of knowledge about the area and was happy to take questions from the passengers. The show was spectacular and the seats also moved too. There are three shows combined into one (first people of the land, whaling and Loch Ard ship wreck).Would highly recommend as an activity to do in the evening. Do wear warm clothes if you are going in winter. We will visit the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village on our next trip in the future.

Flagstaff Hill is definitely worth visiting. It is very well laid out and a number of the Warrnambool residents volunteer to wear dress from the era and run some of the businesses. Although we enjoyed our visit, more volunteers interacting with the public would make this a much better experience.

Definitely worth a visit. Go through the museum and walk through the village to learn about the Maritime Village. There are a couple of places within the village that are "operational" like the confectionery store etc. You can also see the sheepdogs that have been trained to protect the penguins. There are plenty of clean bathroom facilities available at the information centre and at the entrance to the Maritime Village. Overall Im glad that we visited the Maritime Village and got a chance to learn about the history. Best to download the Services Victoria app ahead of time so you can scan and do a quick check-in to enter the Information centre and the Maritime Village. An account is not required as you can do a quick scan for check-in using the app. There is plenty of parking at Information centre, which is where the Maritime Village is located. I would recommend sunblock and a bottle of water (since we went in summerthough there is a Cafe within the Village.

A must visit to learn about Warrnambool and the shipwreck coast. The museum and the historic town were well maintained to a level exceeding my expectation. I only gave 4 stars because there was not any staff around the village. Having staff walking around dressed in olden day costumes would improve the atmosphere immensely. There were art and craft merchandises that you could sell too. Overall not a bad experience comparable to the Sovereign Hill in Ballarat.

Nice place. Lots to learn. Make sure to go on a nice day because some of the best part was walking up to see the amazing views up on the top of the hill. Very quiet, not very lively. Not as interactive as places such as Sovereign Hill for example. Overall it was a really great visit - the pies from the tearooms are tasty!
