Five Loaves Bistro and Bakery - Bakery in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Five Loaves Bistro & Baker is one of my favorite place in Addis. The food, dessert and cocktails are great! Service is great! The staffs are friendly and welcoming. Parking is a bit challenging and they are closed on Tuesday!
It is stupendously expensive, but is one of the places you keep going back because its still good.Great for brunch! They have mimosas by the glass, OR my suggestion, buy the bottle of champagne and order OJGood for informal but some what high-end gatheringsNot the cake, though, dont bother with that
I love this place and their foodStill the test is in my mind 🙂😂
This restaurant one of best in addis.
Nice salman burger love the food here
First timers here, service is awesome. Food is top notch! Had the seafood omelet was so good I had to slap the chief! (No, really I hugged him)Definitely comming here again!
One of the best or probably the best restaurant I have ever visited. The food is just perfect. We went there as Sunday Brunch. The Chef, Theo, welcomed us by himself and gave us free Chef’s gift. The Greek salad was amazing and I ordered an extra one for take away. Omelets, pancakes and waffle were very good. The restaurant offers international food as well as Ethiopian food. The Chef has 36 years of experience in the United States including 2 Michelin Starts restaurants and came bake to Addis to teach his home country whatever he learned. I forgot to say that if you want to eat cheese this is the only restaurant that offers cheese platter as the Chef is the one who imported them to Addis. It is a must go restaurant for any one visiting Addis Ababa and I will go back to it again before I leave.
Nice atmosphere and good food!Service is slow as others mentioned. And on weekends, they have live music which is really cool but with all the noises lingering in the place, you cant really either enjoy the music or good conversation with friends. As fo the food, tried Egg Benedict, french toasts, and chicken sandwich, chicken parmigiana etc.. whatever you order, you’ll enjoy it. Hard to find a restaurant where all the menus are decent like five loaves:)
Its wonderful service & cozy place. And Ill recommand you salmon pasta. Its taste good.
Great Menues, very professional and friendly employeesWe met some friends at the beginning of August 22 and spent a great time, eat together different meals. I had a pepper steak with french fries and sparkling water. The flesh was exelently fried and nearly tenderly seasoned for my european tounge. A absolute recommodation, also the desert (some pieces of cake). Greetings from Munich, Germany!
The food was fine, nothing spectacular (I got eggs with creamed spinach and a special tea). Some people were friendly but leaving a negative review because the waiter literally ignored me after my white companion arrived. Disappointed by such overtly racist service. Do better, be better.
Loved the place, absolutely delicious meals and good service.very nice for friends and family
Amazing decor and ambiance, nestled inside a authentic brick house/ Brooklyn feeling. Excellent service, big kudos to the restaurant manager for accommodating us as walk-in, party of four.
Used to enjoy dining and hanging out at this place, but this is the third bad experience we’re having with their food… the chicken cream soup on the picture speaks for itself…. And the sandwich wasn’t much better. I personally will not go there again and gave the second star only because the service is ok.
Amazing food there and great service and definitely recommend the Chicken Alfredo😍🤩👏Great Job
Worst customer service I never had. I had to get up from my table to ask for my check. Servers was rude. No one came and check on our table not even one time after we got our food. SMH never again and we spent $3000 wow customers service 0
Taste is ok but the fillet steak meat was of no quality. Its not tender at all so makes chewing hard. Staff was mediocre!
It’s best place. I love itttttt. The food and the service amazing. When you go Addis please visit Five Loaves.
Went on a Sunday for brunch and had a great time. It’s a nice spot to go to if you’re looking for French/American style brunch. There was live jazz which was also excellent. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and our table shared a French toast. All were great. Also thoroughly enjoyed their fresh squeezed orange juice.
All I can say is that the food is delicious! Service is excellent. Wonderful restaurant!
So how havent I posted this yet. There are two faces to this placeThe best Salmon sandwich and other food too while going with friends that are known. Hands down with vow for it and even the serviceHere comes the trick lolBut I pucked my guts out the day I didnt go with someone known ( in their own bathroomI didnt even order the steak sandwich. Lack of respect wow!!!After that recently my sister got food poisoning and she barely gets sick. For daysStop giving your *new* or customers you dont remember food thats been out or just plain bad.An embarrassment for such a restaurant
Wow! Great food, good service. Clean and.lots of options.
Over all the food was good, but they need to work on their coffee. We had scrambled egg with salmon, french toast, fried egg with home fries and macchiato. Some of the food served is not as easily found in Ethiopia so their price is high. The coffee/macchiato both in price and test was highly disappointing.
Man the food here is so awesome. My only regret I have not gone there enough nor did I take a picture. My goal for my next trip to Addis Ababa.
Very tasty and delicious food. The staff was welcoming. The restaurant has an antique architecture. I will definitely go back soon.
Absolutely delicious meals, friendly and efficient staff, CONSISTENT😊 The Sunday brunch is probably the best in Addis with live jazzy music from 11 to 2.
Go for brunch and have yourself an amazing Steak and Eggs! Hands down the best steak I’ve had in Addis Ababa. Service is impeccable! Must Visit if in Addis!
The food was great here, along with the fact that the chef, hailing from New York, came out to get feedback on the cuisine from us and all the other guests. Enjoyable experience.
Cakes are attractive to look at but are overly expensive and tasted very stale. 98 Birr for a tiny piece of carrot cake that tastes like cardboard is daylight robbery. On top of that, there were a few flies navigating through your cake shelf. Perhaps you have changed your pastry chef but you need to sort it out
Most delicious food and sweets you can find it in Addis Ababa. The restaurant is cozy and nice the atmosphere is amazing specially if when they have the live music.Waiters are kind and friendly.
The food is good I Had chicken Permesan. Always the same test. Parking standard addis street parking and closed on Tuesday. The price is at higher end though.
The food in flavor and variety is really good, I highly recomend the quesadillas. The pastry is delicious. They need more options in no alcoholic beverage and remoce from the menu the no available items (I ask for two different coffees and they did not have it).The service is good but can improve.
Wonderful!I cleaned the lasagna plate for them.
Well beyond my expectation. A lovely restaurant, good food and service and atmosphere, definitely hope to go back. Appreciation goes to z manager, Mr. Abyot., & z wonderful chef.👍👍
This place is amazing year after year! I took my hubby and had mouth watering steak and chicken Cajun. The portion is big unlike most places now a days. The strawbery tart, coffee and South African red wine....was all too die for. To top it all the guy who took care of us, Abyot was so great and incredibly polite & helpful. The ambiance is excellent with with the old wooden style windows makes it all complete.. Once you go there you wouldnt want to leave ( just ask or reserve window table). Def this place excceds the high end hotel restaurants by far.
Best Sunday brunch spot in the city, booking is essential though. The vibe is correct, the food is good.
Service was great. Had chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and it was good. Location was easy to find. The only thing that wasn’t to the standard was the parking
I loved their food, but, unfortunately yesterday was a very dissappointing experience with the quality. I ordered grilled chicken and cheese sandwich which usually is really good, but yesterday I received a very oily sandwich, with barely any chicken, the chicken also appeared deep fried, dry, and tiny bread crumb like chicken. I doubt I will head back there anytime soon.
The food is awesome, service is alright
Incredible food. Make a reservation, this place is popular!
Amazing atmosphere and excellent good. I recommend the fresh egg Benedict with salmon or just grab a generous slice of cake. Best of all is the coffee barista on sire. I loved the coffee. All very good. Ask for the manager Mr Ambiyot. And if you there all the owner to stop shouting at his staff or in the place - he disturbed my breakfast.
Great atmosphere quick and friendly service, waiting at the bar having great cocktail. Then tasty appetizers, we had amazing Japanese soup, not on the menu...ask for it.Tasty chicken soup, great steak and salmon pasta.
The food is good but the service is terrible! The first time we went the service was somewhat okay only because the waitress was smiling, otherwise we ordered only after 20 minutes, the food came in 40 minutes and to pay we were waiting for 15 minutes. The second time we went, the waiter didnt even came to us and we were sitting right in front of the cashier! We called him 3 times and after waiting for half an hour we just left. Poor service
It was really good and delicious I recommend it highly if you want very excellent hospitality and excellent quality breakfast! 👌🔥
Tastiest Food I had in my entire stay in Addis, it’s a must visit especially if you aren’t in love with the traditional Ethiopian meals...
The place is simple and great, for group outing as well as for a date night. They have a variety of great food but i have never since them tested better chicken parmesan, its a must try. Their desert and breakfast menu is also something worth trying. All in all I Would definitely recommend this place.
Loved the place, the food and the service. Very nice for family and kids. Good portion of food!! Owners overlook every detail to the expected quality!! Recommend it for lunch but more for diner!! Better call for reservations before going there.
absolutely best restaurant in Addis.the quality of the food itself, and the cooking skill is very high. lunch and dinner is always crowded. better make reservations.
Its just amazing teast they have got in every dishes they served. Its must see places. Waiters are friendly very clean place.
Great food, great place. Go for Sunday brunch if you have a chance - reservation required!
