Five Guys in Dubuque

Will never try and order from this place again. You do an online order and they wait until the end to say no more today. What a joke.

The food is delicious, but expensive. I think they forgot my shake, but I asked, and they said they just got busy... Hmm. Ok.

Don’t have your open sign on if you plan on closing early due to lack of staff. If you can’t make one burger for one patient hungry customer with one employee and you’re short staffed, you really need to re-evaluate your entire staff.When you get food here during the day it’s good. Don’t count on them being open at 8:15 p.m even though their business hours say 10.For the price you might as well skip this joint and do Culvers at least you won’t feel robbed and they have a drive thru.

Food is decent but most definitely overpriced. $37 for two burgers (one smallone large fry a small pop and chocolate shake is ridiculous We were bothered by flies restaurant throughout our meal. Soda was watered down and many choices were unavailable.

Completely ignored seems like they really where just waiting for us to leave, tried getting theyre attention but simply just pretended we werent there, it was fairly empty so it was embarrassing just standing there for a quite a bit of time... I really like the food I came all the from Texas just to be treated like a second class citizen by the employees.... Iowa really is the worst state Ive ever been in, and too be honest I dont think Ill ever eat at that burger chain again.

Burgers are delicious and spicy fries are good too! They were open on Easter Sunday, and we really appreciated that they were open... because nothing else in Dubuque was open for dinner. Staff was super friendly too!

Trust me no matter how much you like fries, you dont need larger than a small. If you do, you shouldnt.3Dont charge for toppings. Well, kinda. $80 burger but FREE TOPPINGS. Same for shakes. Nice, but clearly charging you as if everyone is ordering in the top 20%.4Shakes are good enough that its hard not to order one, but it will cost you an arm and a leg and bump your total cost over $20. For a burger, fries, and shake.5Offer malt vinegar for fries which is awesome. Only Long John Silvers offers this besides 5G and its unfortunate. Props here.6Friendly staff. Looks like an arduous job but always impressed with their friendly staff so whatever theyre doing to achieve that is commendable.7Free peanuts. Who cares but a nice touch.Nagative:1Insanely overpriced. You literally will pay the cost of two meals for one meal here. Not exaggerating.2No combos.3Food takes forever but I guess thats the price you pay for fresh. However, with modern analytics it should be easy to predict demand with arbitrary accuracy. They dont butter or grill their buns for enhanced flavor and crisp freshness either. Basic burger-building 101.5The walls are covered in an obnoxious, tasteless, self-aggrandizing collection of promotional material thats just kind of gross, replete with grammatical errors. If youre truly committed to decor glorifying yourself, at least exhibit a 3rd-grade command of English. No inviting decor or character. Just low-effort try-hard promo materials. Its like they vomitted their lack of parental-approval complex all over their walls and attempted to glorify it. Its the same sort of insecure narcissism that Freddys partakes in. Yuck.6"Wet floor" orange cones just sitting out front and center and tucked in corners waiting for a wet floor, even when there isnt one. If you enjoy being surrounded by wet floor orange cones when theres no wet floor, 5 Guys is your place.7No milkshake size choices. If smallish-medium is your ideal shake size youre covered but forget everyone else. They also dont place the toppings on top before they stir so 60% of your toppings will be left on the bottom, even when you drink the whole thing before your food even comes. Also, the straws are cheap and collapse making it difficult to consume. Your toppings will clog the straw, too.8Burgers arent that great. A step up from fast food but if I want to pay a fortune for a burger and have a better one then Ill go to Red Robin. If I want a burger, however, I dont typically want to deal with a restaurant experience so thats why you might want 5G and just dissociate from the cost..

Literally just left the ER from getting food poisoning from eating a hot dog at this place. Thank goodness I didn’t share any of my food with my 7 month old baby or they would be hearing an earful from me!

The prices are way to high.For a small hamburger almost 9 dollars.For small fries almost 5 dollars.Also fries were to salty.I gave a 3 star because the burger was good.

The food was greasy and not edible. The milkshakes tasted like a slim fast. I will never eat there again, very upset and disappointed. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Store employees literally lied to me. I came to pick up a doordash order, there were no other customers ordering in the store, they only had my order. They told me it would take 6 minutes. after waiting 15 i asked if it would be much longer just to find out it was ready the whole time. not only did it waste my time and money but the customer now gets cold food. i will NEVER come back here for doordash or otherwise.

This place has outrageous prices. Im surprised they are still here. Its average food at insane prices. The hamburgers should be 1 lbers for what they charge. Just go to Culvers or somewhere else, I cant justify spending so much on fast food when I can get the same thing pretty much everywhere else for 1/3 the price.

Milkshake and 2 (SMALLburgers with fries was $40! Not to mention it looked like concession stand food. Nothing special. The food was good but not worth what it cost and service was great but definitely would have rather went to mcdonalds.

Burger was bland, bun was wet, and fries were soggy. Only thing that was ok was the shake. A meal for 2 was $40. Would have honestly rather had McDonalds.

Five Guys never makes a bad burger, made to order, fresh and just the way you want it. Doesnt matter if its busy or slow, they make every burger exactly how you want it.

The taste was fine, nothing special in my opinion. Food was cold and milkshake was liquid. WAY overpriced for what they serve. $50 for a bacon cheeseburger, bacon cheese dog, 2 orders of fries and a milkshake? Are you kidding me!

Amazing and delicious burgers. The French fries are perfect. Fresh and hot and the Cajun flavor is where it’s at! This place is a great place to eat fresh food fast. Highly recommend this place.

Okay. I see a lot of four or five stars. I would happily give for a taste the burger was good honestly though I got a burger with all the fixings except for a couple I do say all the way I took a little less I got a medium regular fry and a small the regular drink and it was still $20 for a burger and it was big and it was sloppy but it was not a $20 Burger I think youd be better in a bigger city than Dubuque but thats just me take my word for it it was good but not worth the price

Terrible experience tonight! I arrived at the store at 9:43pm ( sign says they close at 10pmthe doors were locked and apparently the only employee inside was behind the counter on the phone. Chipotle closes at 10pm they still had customers eating at the tables outside so I assumed I could still at the very least pick up an order that was place already. I walked to the door with another delivery driver and I knocked on the door. The young lady looked at us and returned her attention to her phone. Me and the other driver were amazed at her sheer disregard. I knocked again and she did the something. At that point we realized that she was purposely taking her time. She walked to the door and immediately yelled at us we closed all orders will be refunded! Before I arrived at the store my customer calls to request mayo so now I feel terrible that I have to tell him he wont get his order. Typically to go orders are still prepared as long as arrive we before closing. This young lady was clearly upset because she was the only one left in the store ( she mentioned it in her rantwhen she yelled at me I yelled back explaining that its fine if you are closed ( its a pandemic delivery drivers are use to stores closing early)but you dont have to yell at me, however her rude disrespectful and unprofessional behavior was astonishing. THE LADY EXITS THE STORE TO CAPTURE A PICTURE OF MY PLATES AND SAY "I AM ABOUT TO GET YOU BANNED TONIGHT" SHE REPORTS ME TO THE POLICE TO ISSUE A NO TRESPASSING NOTICE. Officers called my cellphone at 9:58pm to request I see them in person....She stayed to give police officers false report BUT COULDNT JUST FIX THE FOOD I CAME TO GET.#fiveguysDUBUQUEYALLSUCK#UBEREATSLIFE#POSTASIGNORDOYOURJOB

I really like 5 guys i also like its all over the country but being from central iowa its not one here but i wish i could lobby for one ….double burger with shooms does the job most times for me. Dont forget to grab some peanuts while you there.

Excellent food, ask for the bacon shake. Yummmmm. However my only beef is the pricing. I give it a 4 based on price. Lower prices=more customers.

The restaurant is understaffed but the employees are buckling down and getting it done. Their determination and work ethic deserves way more pay than they get. Five Guys is lucky to have these folks.

I stopped in after finishing a job in the area.. the Food was subpar at best. The grease-filled, par cooked fries with enough Cajun seasoning to flavor ten times the amount of fries I had paired with a soggy bun, flavorless burger patties and onions/mushrooms I am not certian were held at unsafe temperatures, I am at the conclusion I was sold nothing more than an overpriced dose of colon cleaner. Definately will not be trying this location, or any other locations again.

Always enjoy a burger and fries from Five Guys! We order ahead and they are just finishing it when we pick up so everything is nice and fresh. Be ready for tons of fries!

The burger was good, but not impressed with the seasoned fries. The price was not worth what was purchased. Pretty sure I wont frequent their establishment regularly.

The food was very good and the service was pretty good as well. The burger was nice and juicy and a bit greasy. You get a ton of fries with your order just a heads up. I ordered a large fries for me and my friend to share and there was a lot to eat.

Good burgers and fries. Sandwiches can be topped with a number of condiments, as few or as many as you like. Regular size fries are a good portion size to share.Prices are slightly more than you might pay at similar competitors, but youre likely to enjoy every bite you pay for. I personally enjoy the Bacon Cheeseburger.

I was shocked at the price.... I couldnt believe my husband paid 11 dollars just for the burger then 3-4 dollars for fries and then 2-3 more for a soda... The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the $

So this was my first visit to 5 Guys in Dubuque, Iowa. I was pleasantly surprised with Tammy. She explained the whole menu so it was easier for me to decide my order. Then I believe Justin was working so hard to make our sandwiches right. After getting our order Tammy helped me get everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Thanks Tammy and Justin we enjoyed our meal and will be back for more great food.

We have a good experience here every time, the food is always amazing and the staff is so nice! Recently, we stopped in and some belligerent guy was making a scene about the mask mandate. The lady behind the counter was very professional and calmly dealt with his adult temper-tantrum. I appreciate how she was looking out for her customers and the staff members!

Food is good quality. They have malts with malt powder, thats pretty rare! I ordered a small malt with peanut butter and topped with whipped cream.I am a slow eater and it usually takes me 10 to 15 minutes to eat a burger. I was surprised to notice I had nearly finished my junior bacon cheeseburger in 3 minutes! It did not leave me feeling that heavy, greasy feeling I have experienced with other restaurant burgers.I ordered the cajun fries. Not particularly impressed. Just regular fries rolled in a salty spice mix. Fries were pretty soft, I prefer them crispy. Their portion size for fries is pretty generous.The staff were professional and friendly. Dining area was moderately clean.Price is a bit steep. I paid around 17 dollars. Next time I will just get a burger and a malt.I recommend people try the food here st least once. It sets the bar in this area for burgers and malts.

My boyfriend and I went to the Dodge Street location and really enjoyed our meal. The employee who placed our order LaShawn M was fantastic. He is a great person to have around. Very friendly, polite, and enjoyed his personality. I would come back just to see him and the great food. The food was hot and fresh made to order just the way we liked it.

Repeatedly disappointed with this location, for the last time. One of the major reasons I support 5 Guys is quality of product and staff. I dont mind paying a bit more for healthier food and quality staff. My fries were burnt, and cold because staff obviously arent paid well or treated well.

Great burgers and fries, some of the best in town, though that does come with a higher price tag. The staff is friendly and did a great job, even catching a minor slip up in making one of our burgers (which they quickly remade). The parking lot layout here is not ideal, and getting into and out of the area takes getting used to.

Whenever we travel, we make it a point of stopping by the nearby Five Guys. Its always been a family favorite. We were less than impressed with this one. Cold burgers, and were not hooked up on fries. Staff was very friendly though. We were informed that they had a 65 burger to go order in the process of our order. With that said, we thought our food would have been hot and fresh. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. Maybe just a bad day for them.

Large portions, flavored soda machine, has open peanut bins like Texas Roadhouse so it isnt I deal if someone has allergies. Staff is very friendly and the place is kept relatively clean. There is also an outside seating area. This is the best place for a burger and fries. It has a great atmosphere.

Burgers & dogs we had this visit were fine but the fries were overly salted. Previous visits were not this salty. Tokk away from the great taste the fries have.Have been a few times since & ordered them as lightly salted. This has taken care of the issue.

If i could do more stars for this crew i would! Not only was the food great, but the people i spoke to were amazing! I had had a hard morning and forgot my lunch, and they were so great by taking my order over the phone so i could come in with limited time to spend in there. I left with a bright smile on my face. “Five Guys” is a glorified Wendy’s; Wendy’s is better and 1/3 the cost...my burger was more grease than meat, and the fries we so salty I didn’t even eat them! The only reason they even get a Star is because the chocolate shake was good. $18 hamburger combo?!. RIP OFF.

Five Guys does have good burgers and love the french fries. But its not $17 good (for one person). Almost feel like I need to stop at the bank and get a loan before going to Five Guys. The 3 Star rating is based on the cost for a meal and not the meal itself.

WAYYY over priced! The fries were terrible. The burgers were decent, but definitely not worth the money. Id rather pay a quarter of the price for better food at Wendys! This place is insanely overrated and I have no idea how anyone could possibly say this place is great. I could have paid a little bit less to eat at Red Robbin for a whole meal and unlimited fries that are actually good. Never again....

Food is amazing!! The french fries were so good and we got a large and couldnt finish them. Cant wait to go back!! The staff is also amazing. Greet you when you come through the door and they are so patient while u just stand there staring at the menu lol.

This place has absolutely amazing burgers but super expensive! My family of kids burger because the normal ones are way too big. In addition one small order of fries is more than enough for three of us.

Love Five Guys! Fresh burgers. Fresh fries. Stopped here late on a Tuesday night and worker was very welcoming to us! Sometimes you don’t get that when it’s close to closing. Got our food quickly. Shortly after we were eating the worker came out on the floor and made sure everything was good and made sure we didn’t need anything else.

Went to five guys for the first time in Dubuque. Everything is made fresh when you order it. Nothing is frozen. Because they were short patties on the grill and had to make more which would take longer to make my meal(which i was fine withthey gave me my burger for free which was really cool. It still only took about 10 minute to get my food which was absolutely delicious and probably the best fries I have had in a long time! Very recommended!!

Good burgers and an amazing bacon peanut butter milkshake also they dont hold back on how much bacon u get if u add it to your milkshake also the bacon stays crispy throughout the whole time you eat it

Five Guys is probably the best fast food Ive ever had. The burgers are cooked when you order, and I like how they keep all the ingredients out on the store floor. Just a word to the wise though, the "junior" portions that they have on the menu are similar to regular sizes at any other fast food chain.

This is NOT the 5 guys that Im used to. Their fries used to be the best.... The burgers are way too expensive, and the menus should note if youre getting two patties or one. The atmosphere inside is very crowded, with little to look at or do. Oh well..

Best fries ever, like the many options for drinks. Posted signage says burgers are made well done but mine was far from that. The middle was very pink, too much so for my taste but time constraints made me suck it up and eat around that part. Otherwise great experience. Next time I will be specific about getting a properly cooked burger.
