Fish Lake Trailhead - Trail head in Spokane, United States
Very nice and very easy bike trail.
Nice bike trail.
Pretty nice spot to walk, bike, bring the dog...... lots of people just "chillin" in the parking lot though. Has restrooms (portable ones anyway). Kept fairly clean for the "crowd" around there that uses it frequently. Lock up! Enjoy. 😉
A very fun ride. Good for me who hasnt been on a saddle in too long
Flat trail for multiple uses. Trail deadends about 9.5 miles our which is a bummer. Homeless folks were at the trailhead making a mess Im the Porta potty. Quite area to cycle.
Stopped here the other day. The really nice and expensive bathrooms are locked up, there are some honey buckets that are full, trashed and vandalized. Trash strewn all over and people hanging out in the parking lot that have nothing to park. Went on my way.
Lets reopen the brick s__thouses, spokane, ugh!
Uphill trail. Challenging climb, fun ride back down
First time on the trail, loved it
Nice easy going trail
Great place to start the Fish Lake trail which is about 20 miles there and back. The trail technically ends at Scribner lake.
I saw in the reviews there was a lot of problems with drug use and etc in the parking lot. What I found was a very clean and peaceful parking lot. I had a great ride I plan to go back.
With all the noise from the highways not a very appealing Walking spot
Great trail but snow covered in places made it so that I couldn’t complete the whole tour
On the Trail. About 4 miles in.
An amazing paved trail which ends at Queen Anne Lake. Follows the train tracks... gorgeous!
Very nice scenic bike ride. Paved all the way down about 10 miles. I wish the city would continue the trail all the way to Fish Lake 🦈
Nice pass paved head south good for walking biking running etc. West side of town easy access 👍
Nice fairly flat riding trail. Not extremely exciting or quiet but it works.
When the best places in town to rollerblade :-biking is also pretty cool there :-)
Great trail, just need to be aware of surroundings in the parking lot
Easy Trail to Pedal nice views.
Every place has a beginning and an end. This spot is just the beginning. Follow it all the way to fish lake! Great for biking or those that enjoy a lengthy walk.
Bathrooms are not open all year and the trail is long but for a nice walk or bike ride it really blooms.
The north trailhead is on a route from downtown area to random homeless camps in the trees. There has been trailhead vehicle vandalism. Nice trail but be aware.
Nicely maintained paved trail...
Its a great trail to run/bike on. Very smooth & quiet (except for the train The parking lot can be a little shady with drug/homeless people.
Very pretty trail. Stopped here to let my fur kid stretch her legs before we got back on the road!!!
Easy, scenic, wide paved trail, around 18 miles round trip. Try parking and starting ride at Coeur d’Alene park instead. It’s close by and not such a sketchy area. There are also access points further down on the trail.Queen Lucas lake is near the end of the trail, around 8.5 miles? Not readily accessible on foot from the trail.I’m looking forward to when it’s connected to the Columbia plateau trail state park, which is .9 further from this trail but is currently blocked with a large fence.
Not a super big parking lot but we had no trouble on a beautiful Fall Saturday. This is a well maintained trail that is not super difficult and can connect with the Columbia plateau trail that goes all the way to Cheney!
Great trail with easy access. 9 miles paved path through pines. Very little grade. Easy, well maintained trail perfect for biking or walking.
Nice clean trail, wide and paved. The parking lot is sketchy. Might try a different spot to get on the trail next time.
This rail to trail has so much potential to be something great. In recent years the trailhead has become a haven for homeless camping with suspicious people always loitering around. The trash cans are overflowing and the bathroom has been closed to prevent drug use. The trail is often used by homeless to access illegal camps and in recent years brush fires have been started by homeless campfires. I would not use this trail if I were alone and female and do not leave any valuables what so ever in your vehicle. All that being said, once you get a mile down the trail its a fantastic path. I really wish they would finish the route to Cheney which might allow more users potentially forcing the shady individuals to relocate.
Fun paved trail close by to down town Spokane. The asphalt was amazing and the trail was fairly clean of debris. Will be riding again.
Great bike ride but ended too quickly due to construction. It was beautiful scenery. The 8 1/2 miles trail was still worth the trip. Hopefully construction will be done next time we decide to go so we can go all the way out to fish lake.
Awesome paved trail thats mostly covered. Theres street parking near the trailhead. I read mixed things online but its roughly 8-10 miles long. I was training for a hike, so I wasnt too picky on the length but the trail is mostly flat.
Bathrooms are open till 10pm makes it nice for anyone. Great bike trail I understand.
What a great trail. Loved how smooth and wide the trail was. Allowed my family to ride side by side and enjoy our trip more.
One of my favorite trails in Spokane. 4 stars due to the rampant and sometimes dangerous homeless folks who frequent the trail. Two attempted to rob me near the bridge by the parking lot -they decided better of it after a few words. Once almost crashed and hit a guy who ran out of the bushes. And just last weekend SPD was called after a parks employee contacted a Male who refused to leave the womens restroom. Just be careful out there.
Great trail for riding a bike, jogging, or rollerblading. Trail is pretty much flat for the full length and paved all the way (with the exception of a small road crossing that is gravel. This is one of my families favorite places to ride our bikes. Im giving it 4 stars because parking is a bit limited.
A nice trail for a daily or weekly bike ride. Its a very gentle upslope out of Spokane and almost entirely straight. It really helped me reaquant myself with bike riding. If you make it to Marshall, get your best Tarzan yell ready for the tunnel.
Great paved trail through the woods. Parking area and first 12 mile are a little sketchy. Lots of trash and evidence of the homeless living in the woods along the trail and in cars at the parking lot.
Paved bicycle and walking trail that is an old railroad bed. Mostly in forested area with a small but inaccessible lake near the end . It goes for 9 and 1/4 miles. Does not continue all the way to Fish Lake because of lack. of railroad crossing. Restrooms, water and paved parking lot at trailhead. The trailhead is only a couple miles from the downtown Spokane area.
Its awesome! Very nice bike, running, walking trail through the wilderness. And theres areas you can get off the beaten path n chill for bit. Its very serene and peaceful. Dont be afraid if you run into someone camping out there. They have no where else to go. As with all of Spokane(thus all the garbage everywhere)there is no garbage cans.
Great paved trail to walk, run, or ride on. Mostly flat, clean and quite. A few miles up the trail is a lake where people can relax enjoy the view. Fish Lake trail has a dead end and does not lead all the way to Fish Lake, the end of the trail is gated off and a railroad marks the end of the trail. Great place to get your sweat on and do some exercises or just enjoy the sensory.
This trailhead is easy to get to from both the freeway and downtown. You can even ride your bike from Centennial Trail and only have to cross a few roads to get here. The trailhead is paved for parking.I would caution trail users to not leave anything in your car worth stealing. This area of Spokane has a high rate if property crime and the trail head sees a lot of foot traffic from the nearby motels. The trail will take you out to fish lake. One of the most beautiful lakes in the Spokane area. You can fish here from shore or a boat/small craft. No gas motors are allowed, which makes it quiet and calm even when its busier.
Great trail head for a great trail! Doesnt go all the way to fish lake but its easy to connect by way of the Cheney-spokane road.
The trail ends at around 9.5 miles. 2% grade heading south, nice ride back. See picture. No drinkable water along trail. Be safe, travel in pairs. Trail runs along rail road tracks.
Its seems to be very popular for horses. I was there to go hiking with my dog. We went on a short hike. I plan to return for a four day hiking excursion. I will update my review after. Im hoping there wont be as many people there when we go back.
Nice paved trail that goes for 8 or 9 miles. Its on a very very slight incline so on the way back its a tad bit easier.
