First Wok in Muncie

This place is my new favorite hands down. Ive been looking for cold sesame noodles for years and nowhere in Indiana had a clue what I was asking for. I walked in expecting the same but asked anyway as it was our first time here and they didnt have it on the menu but made them for me anyway. They were everything Ive been dreaming about for years and more. Made me so very happy. Best gift I could get on my honeymoon. We will definitely be making the 30 min drive to them every time we want Chinese from now on. Amazing food and amazing staff. Everyone is so kind and friendly. A must try if youve never been!

Prices arent bad. Food quality is much better than the local buffet or big brand fast food Chinese restaurants nearby. They might not have a buffet, however they do give you a sizeable portion of food. Since it is a family owned restaurant the food is of much higher quality than elsewhere.

Best Chinese in Muncie for sure, probably in Indiana.

First time ordering from here and my last food nice hot, but no flavors at all, secondly the inside is filthy,walls dirty,floor look as it never been washed,nor swept, table legs are grossly nasty, needs major renovation inside pink table ,chairs yuck.

DISGUSTING ATMOSPHERE!!! Went here with my mom and daughter apparently its more of a carry out place, if you want a nice clean, up to date place to eat at, this is NOT the place. However its popular for take out or delivery because the FOOD IS GOOD.

They said they wouldnt deliver to me because they was starting to get more business. If youre business says it delivers then dont say we only deliver if we arent getting much business thats bad business.

Food was terrible. Everything was overcooked and poorly made. I’m not sure if they cook the food the day before or what but some of the food tasted old. On top of all that after I requested plenty of duck sauce and soy sauce I spent $25 and got two duck sauce packets. Then they charged my card an extra $5 after I already tipped the delivery driver. I am highly disappointed and I won’t be back. The extra $5 that went through was conveniently put through on the day they are closed. I won’t be back and would advise anyone wanting quality Chinese food to try the dumpling house.

Food is always fantastic, hot, fresh, well put together. Orders are always correct. Nice little family restaurant.

One of the best in town! I have tried probably a dozen dishes and they were all delicious. Big helpings and reasonable prices too. Dont forget to get some soup!

The food is pretty quick and uniquely different than that found at local competitor Yummy Buffet. I think you can feed your family 5+ for cheaper doing carry out from Yummy Buffet.

I wont be back. Food cant make up for the horrible wait. I gave them 10 min more than the 30 min they asked for before showing up and I still waited on site for another 40 min before order was ready. Unacceptable.

I like this restaurant except for just one thing. The supposedly hot dishes are not hot at all even when you specifically ask them to make them extra hot.

Went to order some food. Ordered the chicken curry. Not really busy inside and it takes 30 minutes to get my order and once I get back to my hotel room is where it gets worse. Piss-poor attempt on food. This isn’t curry and also he someone else with me order sesame chicken and same thing. Definitely stay away from this place. Something I would call the *joint* you would say away from. Guy at the counter was nice but that’s the only good thing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this chinese resturaunts food. The egg roll was AMAZING (hence the missing piece). It was hot and fresh. It didnt taste old. I loved it very much. I also ordered shrimp, broccoli, and rice which was delicious. Of course Ill be back😍😋

Kung Pao Shrimp, Mi Shu Pork, crab rangoon, egg rolls, fried dumplings were all very good. Price was fair. Portions are good. This will become our go-to for Chinese.

Really I wouldnt even give a star if it was an option! I just put in an order tonight and my husband went to pick it up and they claimed we never ordered so he left and came home without the food so I called and was already mad cuz we dont have our food and the girl that answered handed the phone to someone else without even telling me and all I asked was if they can deliver our food since they didnt give to my husband and we just kept going round in round in circles about it to where my husband grabbed the phone and cussed em out and hung up

The best Chicken on a Stick I have had in years! They are always welcoming and friendly. No matter what I order it is too quality and the service is done with a smile.

By far the best Chinese place in town, very cute inside as well.

I order Asian food wherever I travel. Their hot and sour soup was exceptional. Crab Rangoon and veggie chow mein delish. Restaurant was clean and business was steady. Definitely coming back when I visit the area.

Its pretty good. The only problem Ive had is the Mongolian beef. I expected to actually have beef in our order. It was almost entirely onions and a soupy sauce. If I spend ten dollars on a food, I expect to get my moneys worth. Aside from that, it was all very good.

First time going here and if i happen to be in the area again I will stop in for some takeout. I would not eat in at the restaurant. The staff was very nice. I ordered the beef fried rice and beef oyster sauce. I was surprised to see that the fried rice was yellow. I have never had fried rice that was yellow before so upon seeing it I did not know what to expect taste wise. Once I tried it, it was very good. The downside of this place was no ac and some very noisy kids in the restaurant. The heat was overwhelming and the kids were making too much noise. I couldnt wait for my order to be ready so that I could get out of the heat and away from those noisy kids. I think that the kids were family members of one of the workers or owners.

Great food great family. They are always busy so you know that means the food is good. Today the First Wok family was working and the kids were a blast. They were nothing but helpful and all smiles. Highly recommended for take out. The inside is not date night ready but always clean and fine if you need to eat in real quick.

First wok had been favorite for years but the last four times have forgotten our drink . Today there was half the usual amount of rice in combination meals we ordered three and no sauce for Generals chicken. The amount of food and quality of the food is not worth the money anymore.

I was highly disappointed in the quality of food here. I ordered wings, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. The rice was dry and didnt appear fried at all. In fact, the rice was yellow. The wings were suppose to be fried but lacked any sort of breading or crispy texture. I would not eat there again.

Staying at Hampton Inn here in Muncie. Ive had LOTS of Chinese food in my life. For takeout, this is awesome. Food is fresh, hot, and definitely tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for takeout or delivery. SERIOUSLY. Quick too!

They are rude. The sweet and sour chicken was just really burnt hard breading. I ordered noodles and got soup and they told me I’d have to pay more to get the noodles instead of exchanging them. I wouldn’t go here unless you want burnt crunchy breading and rude service!

The only reason Im not giving this place 5 stars is because our table and most of the other ones were not super clean. We ate there because we live 45 minutes away and were in town for a fundraiser. Food was excellent! Hot and fresh! Best Chinese food in a while!

Delicious, plentiful Chinese food. This is the best Chinese food in Muncie. It is also a very good value. Everyone there is friendly and when I call my order in for pickup, it is usually ready earlier than their initial estimate. My favorite is the shrimp egg foo young combo. The fried rice isn’t greasy like it is at many restaurants. Their egg rolls are crunchy and tasty.

DO NOT eat here!!!! College students do cause its nearest to school, but first off the staff is highly rude, second I opened my rice and counted 7 MAGGOTS, and my chicken was horribly under cooked. This place needs shut down for good. Ill NEVER eat here again.

the profile named “ask me” wrote a false review about first wok having maggots in the food. he called our store with a half baked scheme to get free food claiming he received the wrong order, an order he never made. clearly based upon his reactionary, childish response you can see he is upset that he couldn’t scam our store for a free meal. if you look at his other reviews he has tried to scam other stores with the same lie, then subsequently left them a 1 star review when it didn’t work. it’s really unfortunate that a sad, dishonest, degenerate individual can leave fake reviews with no repercussions. i ask anyone who see’s the comment from “ask me” about maggots to report it to google for violating the terms of service for abuse. first wok is locally owned, has been open for almost 15 years, and has never had the issues he is fabricating.

Foods pretty good. I love their crab Rangoon but they are to stingy with the pepper steak with onions . I asked them to go lite on the peppers and I kid you not , they put A WHOLE ONION (and somein to take up space .

I ordered and was told delivery would take about 45 minutes... now nearly an hour and a half later, and our food is still not here. I called and was told it was "sitting there" waiting on a driver and could be another 20-30 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. I will take my hard earned money to another restaurant if that is how they operate their business. This is completely unacceptable. Its nearly time for me to get ready for bed now. If I could give this business a NEGATIVE STAR rating, I totally would right now.

Great little place with great tasting food. Portions are a good size and prices are good. You can order by phone or Internet. I found their internet website rather easy to use and order. They have a full menu online with descriptions, options and prices. Customer service is friendly and they help you when you are trying to decide.

First off Im going to say, me and my boyfriend ordered from here a lot and we have had no problems. The food is always very delicious and they are not stingy, you get plenty of food to last a couple days. One time we were unable to go pick up our order and the employee himself from the restaurant offered to deliver to us PERSONALLY after hours. We have never gotten any food missing or tasting strange. The only complaint I could understand people saying is the fact they do not understand English very well and have a limited vocabulary. We love them a lot and they have been very good to us from when weve ordered, every time. Its like day and night compared to the other Chinese restaurants around here. You get more for your buck at First Wok for sure. It tastes better too. Its the best in town and we crave it ALL THE TIME. They work hard and give the most possible for you to enjoy. ❤

Ive ordered here for take out maybe ten times from this address in the last year. This time when I called the guy literally laughed at me and said we have never delivered there! Okay, you wont be getting my service anymore and after reading other reviews, other people obviously feel the same.

I ordered from here about 40 times over the last year. Only had 1 other problem with the food being cold upon delivery. Resolved that issue. But tonight when I ordered the general tso chicken. It didnt taste right. I contacted the store. The person answering the phone gave it to the store owner. He then persisted that I always complain and he is not going to do anything and I cant order for delivery again. Some of the worst customer service skills I have ever seen

I LOVE chinese food. I know the owners and decided to give it a try. They guys working spoke little English luckily i speak Spanish. The pork in my pork fried rice was cooked so long it was hard. i ordered chicken low mein as well and it had a weird taste. i got fried dumplings and the outside was too thick to stick to the dumpling inside. i will just go to china express from now on or even panda. this was no good. i did talk to the owner however.

Ordered dilivery for me and my girlfriend the food was amazing we normally go to China express but this is probably our new Chinese restaurant the food was decently quick to arrive and was still hot the prices are reasonable I just wish that they had a multiple order of egg rolls on the menu

I have always had an great experience with First Wok, however, this time has been a true disappointment. At first I realized they forgot my roommates rangoons and even though it was not a very large order, we thought it was no big deal and we would either just call and get a refund for them or ask them to bring some. Then, I started to eat my pork fried rice and noticed a few barely cooked pieces at the top. I figured I would just pick them out and ignore it but then I realized almost every piece of pork was mostly red. We called and asked for a replacement and the delivery girl was incredibly rude. I had to go to work and when she called I could not answer and I tried to send my roommate the number but she kept calling so many times I wasnt able to. By the time I did which was no more than a couple minutes she had already just left our order. I have always had a good experience from First Work but this time it is just disappointing and I think I may start to look at other places the next time.

Omgoodness ! I cant believe I didnt know about this place until today ! I ordered for delivery and was extremely pleased with the quality of our food . We did order early but our food was so fresh and tasteful ! Im so full right now and have a new favorite Chinese food place!

Food is good, but they dont pay any attention to your special requests when you order on-line. I asked for extra soy sauce. I got 2 packets. Really?I asked for plates (were in a hotel that didnt happen, either! They also dont give you napkins. You pretty much get what they decide you should get regardless of your "special requests".

Been coming to this place for years and it never gets old! The food and the service are amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Muncie. I would recommend it to anyone.

love this place my whole family has been ordering here from years for our guilty pleasure food, never found anything mentioned in the other comments and yes the delivery can take some time every now and then but thats buisness and for all the years we have been going they have only messed up our order twice and one time it was that they added fooded in that wasnt even on the receipt so free food. Dont trust everything your hear on the internet though try yourself.

We waited just over 2 hours for the food to be delivered. It was cold when it came. The estimated delivery time was more that 1 hour off. You can make better Chinese food from scratch in less time for less money.

Unfortunately this restaurant didnt live up to my expectations. I was super excited when I saw I could order from grub hub. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing this time but the chicken was extremely dry and there were pieces of hard cartilage (Im guessingin it. The fried chicken wings we got in the Pu Pu platter had stringy/ hair looking things in the breading. Maybe that was from the actual chicken but Im not sure. The wonton soup tasted kind of like it had been sitting out for a while.But the egg roll and crab rangoon were delicious!I give it three stars because this is the first time Ive been there and maybe it was an off day. After all I did order at 3 pm on a Monday so no restaurant would be on their A game at that odd hour.

I like the food a lot. Ive been order king from here for about 3 years. Delivery is kinda slow. And someone at work has said they found a cockroach in there bag. But I havent had any issues

Terrible. Do not eat here. You will regret it. They have extremly rude and terrible service. Normally i order from here. It is close to my house and i do enjoy their food. But i ordered the wrong thing once. It was an honest accident. Chicken Lo Mein is what i wanted, Chicken Chow Mein is what i got. I went back to First Wok, i am a regular here. I order at least once a week. I asked if i could get it swapped out for the actual food that i wanted. They said no. They said i would have to buy another meal if i wanted to get the right thing. Really guys are you that greedy you cant switch out one order that was an honest mistake. I am very displeased and i will not be buying from you all again. I will got to the Chinese place in the village from now on. I hope you guys are happy you lost all of the potential money i could have given you guys because you wouldnt fix a small issue. Are you that lazy? Are you that greedy?
