First Camp Karlstad - in Karlstad, Sweden
First Camp Karlstad in Karlstad
Description
Be careful: When you book a cottage you should not only see but also smell if everything is okayFirst after arriving everything looked fine. But at night we realized a headache causing smell of paint. Sleep was short, we, the whole family, spent most of the time at night outside to mitigate headaches. When we were explaining the situation, the answer of the Destination Manager after some discussion was: Truly there was some painting 3 months ago, but we can do nothing for you and you can open a request at the complaint point. By the way all of our neighbors also had open doors and windows during the whole day, what we understand now. After doing so, the answer turned to: The reason for is the Swedish Forest Agency -- what doesnt make sense, because outside the air was much better than inside the cottage. After pointing out that this does not fit to the explanation we got at the camp site, they insisted that the Destination Manager did also explained the smell with the Swedish Forest Agency. All in all: We left after one night and didnt get any compensation for the remaining 4 nights. We would not recommend to go there because clients are not taken serious at all.
MoreOverall, this is a good, clean camping ground with new facilities.Within walking distance, you are at a beautiful lake with a discgolf facility and grill stations. But be careful if you would like to wash. You have to make a reservation on a list in the washing room. If you have some other campground users who are blocking the mashine without using it….. even if you have just one wash, you are blocking the mashine for three hours.
MoreGood service, lacks tv and good internet. So far so good
The mini golf was fun. We also enjoyed playing disc golf "Frisbee Golf" there.
Price and quality not balanced. Dirty and old washrooms, for 550 krones you get a free spot on a field without electricity per night, shop badly equipped, playgrounds for kids seem fun. Personal at reception was friendly. But highly not recommended for campers who are looking for a cosy, nice place to enjoy holidays.
MoreArrived at 22:00. Check-out is at 12. So I played 55 EUR for half a day of Camping. Worst deal ever!
MoreYou are to expansive. Have fun paying for positive fake reviews!
Ok place, but way to expansive for what it is.
Only went for the DiscGolf and was saddened over the state of the course. Starting points were tricky to find sometimes and the marker-trees had faded spraypaint on them. They still have old DG-holes aroind the course causing some confusion as well as the new holes not being numbered. We did the first 10 holes of the course and did enjoy it somewhat but the course could definetly use some sprucing up.
MoreI had a cabin with 3 bedrooms , it is too small for 3people but for two people perfect.
MoreThe campsite:Quite expensive! One person tent site without electricity and a motorcycle for 325 SEK / night.Gives a worn inpression with cracked tiles in hygiene areas.Trash cans that are not emptied often enough.
MoreStay away. Just stay away. After 2 weeks travelling around Sweden this is most expensive and worst so far. Its 24 euros for a tent off season without electricity. The place is big with just 2 service buildings so you have to do quite a hike to go to toilet or do the dishes. Its flat - the wind blows from the lake (which you cannot even see from the camp grounds anyways). It has a really small laundry room for a camp site this big and single wash costs 4 euros. And small washing machines. And you have 30 seconds to start the washing cycle or the money lost. Everything is a card accessed but cards dont work. We had 2 cards - none worked, I got them replaced - now 1 is working and the laundry allowance (which you have to pay upfrontis on a broken one. The internet setup is really dodgy and got broken after 5 min usage. The reception is unmanned after 7pm so if you arrive late - bad luck. The staff is nice and friendly so I give it 1 star rating, otherwise - it should be negative. There are really nice camping sites in Sweden - this one is not.
MoreAbsolutely lovely. Located next to a giant lake, it is big, green and clean. Many diversions on the grounds, like minigolf, quite large playground, frisbee course, canoeing, walks of different length, open air BBQ and grill spots. Its also close to Karlstad. Staff were very helpful. Larger shop had most of what we needed. Great experience.
MoreGreat camp near the city of Karlstad. There’s everything you need in the camp or close to the camp. Bathrooms and other facilities are clean and tidy. Cottages are cozy and places for campers are well maintained. The lake is a few minutes walk. There’s a nice beach with some BBQ grills. The camp can be pretty overcrowded, so it’s good to book a place in advance. Surely worth a visit.
