Firehouse Subs Benchmark in Kearney

I ordered a large sandwich, a bag of chips and a bottle of the datil pepper sauce. Only received the sandwich. Was told the manager would contact me the next day to refund me, never heard from them. So I basically spent 23 bucks on a mediocre sandwich. WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN

I love a good sub and these guys definitely fit the bill.

Firehouse subs had great service and really helped us out with a food donation. We were running across the country for young adults with cancer and had an amazing lunch thanks to their generosity!!

Food has been good for me but the past couple times Ive went its like a 30 minute wait to get a sandwich. There was 3 people working and 4 customers waiting, One was a guy from Doordash and no orders on the rapid pickup tray. Seems like even when they are slow theres a 20-30 minute wait. You could about order then go sit down and eat somewhere else and then come back and maybe it will be ready. Havent had any issues with the food, usually very good but Needs management or something, people are waiting in cars and just walking out with random orders because the wait is so long.

Im not gluten free but my mother is and several other people I know!

Havent even received it yet. Been here for 25 minutes waiting for a to-go order. It isnt overly busy but heads up if you are in a HURRY do NOT come here!

Delicious sandwich, great staff!

I had an order delivered from door dash... I ordered the Italian sub. My sandwich was missing half the ingredients and there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. I ended up driving to Firehouse to see if they would remake my sandwich. While waiting in line I observed an employee picking her nose then putting on gloves and continue making food. Apart from that every employee working really needs to take a class on personal hygiene. Not only did they appear dirty but you could tell that their uniforms had not been washed for several days. I ended tossing my sandwich and leaving. Restaurants needs to meet some minimum standards when you work in the food industry and Firehouse does not come close to meeting the bare minimum. I will never be able to eat at a firehouse again .

Called a couple times to place a pickup order but nobody answered. I drove to the store because I thought they were busy. When I arrived there were only 2 people in the store. I was greeted with glares instead of the usual “welcome to fire house”. I love firehouse but the staff is very lacking.

Worst pickup order ever. We have ate here a few times but this was horrible. We took one bite of our sandwiches and threw them away. The soup tasted old and bland, one sandwich had no sauce and no cheese, the other was soggy and had old lettuce, with no cheese. The meat tasted funny…..gross. I would not recommend this location.

Staff claimed to be extremely busy but over 60% of the restaurant was unoccupied, I ordered ahead over the phone and they lost my ticket, staff was quite rude and short when confronted and once again claimed the business to be the cause but that was not the case , I love firehouse but the staff here is well below par for even a sandwich shop

Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Service is quick and theyve NEVER got my order wrong. Dining room is always fairly clean with the exception of tables in use obviously but they are quick to clean them and the drink station area frequently.**For a person newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease I was heartbroken I could no long indulge in their subs BUT with the new addition of the schär brand GLUTEN FREE roll, (which tastes fantastic by the wayI can now enjoy my favorite sub shop in town again!

We couldnt find the meat on our sandwich and the soup was served cold!

There were kids working who werent even old enough and they were behind the counter and running around all over the place no one was really watching them

Excellent food, but way overpriced for amount of food you get

The firehouse subs in my town closed for good and is missed. We have no problem driving to this location when we get the craving for some hot subs. There were only two gals working when we were there and they did an amazing job and kept the orders going out super fast. They cleaned when they had a chance. Never have we had a bad experience. Just waiting on the next craving to visit again.

Fire house always hits the spot. During covid Ive really come to appreciate businesses that focus on cleanliness and Tamika the employee on staff at the time did an amazing job wiping down the table and commonly used surfaces.

Good spot for lunch on a long drive. They were quick and the sandwiches were up to the Firehouse standard.

Everything was great, had the steak and cheese. Great sandwich. Only thing was had to make sure had a card no cash accepted.

Stopped in during a cross-country drive. We were grateful to find clean bathrooms to go with the good food. In spite of the store being understaffed and swamped with orders, the employee we interacted with was kind and pleasant. The employees were all doing their best in a tough situation. If were ever in Kearney during mealtime again, well be back!

Jimmy Johns and subway have no comparison. Also I love what they do for the community. Way to go

First visit, got a sandwich and rice bowl, they were both huge! Definitely get your moneys worth. Service and food were both great.

Owner should be ashamed! Poor girl working by herself. Doing register answering phones, and making sandwiches. How does she get a break or even go to the restroom? She had to stop taking orders because she was getting buried. People were walking out. How do you run a business this way? Hire some help or get your butt down here and help!

Extremely slow. 2 employees working don’t care to be here. Love the food but I don’t have this much time to wait on my food. :(

Was not dissapointed at all about the food. Always went to the Grand Island location, but they closed it after covid hit. Was in Kearney and decided to locate and try this one. Yep! Same great sub sandwiches. Just as General McArthur said, "I shall return"!

I usually like Firehouse Subs, but this location had nothing but rude service and cold sandwiches. Bit of advice for your employees: When customers say "thank you" to your face, itd be nice not to be promptly walked away from and ignored.

Worst service ever! Cant understand them through their mask, and then they argued with me about ordering chips or soup when I actually ordered both! Will not return.

Oh my goodness! The subs here are amazing! You actually get meat on your sandwich, not vegetable fillers. Most definitely worth the price. No more Subway for me.

Food was good but the staff was more interested in shooting the bull than preparing food. No sense of urgency! It took 17 minutes to get 2 subs in the middle of the afternoon.

Greeted as I came in the door. Both ladies were very polite and visited with me. Also got thanked for coming in and told to have a good night as I left.

I had a veggie sandwich and it was great! Restaurant was very clean.

My phone camera sucks, but the food is amazing. Pictured is a hook and ladder. Priced competitively to other sub shops but much better. Fresh, fast, delicious. 11/10.

Great sandwich... Thin sliced meat, fresh toppings and great flavor. The employees were super friendly and helpful! I will be back!!

I see some guy wear concealed weapon holster during eating. I dont like anybody wear in any restaurants. Too much stuff in food. Drip too much sauce . Not good

We love to eat here but tonight yes it was hot things happen. But tonight I am pretty upset. My husband and I came in and ordered a med and a large Steak and cheese with only meat cheese and mayo. Mine the med was perfect. My husband on the other hand was not. Half of the LG sand didnt have any mayo very little cheese but nothing I would complain about until we got to other half a sub had nothing on it just 2 pieces of bread.i have pictures to prove it. Not sure how that would happen. Think it will be a while before we come back.

Place was slow and all staff was high. Will never go back took us 20 min to get our food and no one was in front of us. It was 83 in the firehouse sub in Kearney Ne to hot to even eat inside good luck on keeping the doors open.

I had never ate here before so I thought Id try it what a mistake the food is ok but to have to wait a half hour for two sandwiches is rediculous. And the staff didnt even say sorry for the wait or anything. All of them moved around like they were Inca daze. Bad form.

Awesome customer service. Greeted right away by all staff. Very friendly and helpful! The GM on staff 3-15-2018 around 2pm (I didnt catch his name unfortunatelymade the visit extremely pleasant. Went over the menu and made recommendations with me. Loved the profressionalism. Would recommend to anyone! Clean building and good food too, but customer service really was the best part.

Food is pretty good, but 25 minutes is way too long to wait for a sandwich. Employees in an obviously poor mood doesnt help either. Also, saw an employee stick his gloved finger in his ear and continue to make a sandwich 🤢. I wouldve eaten elsewhere, had I seen that before I ate. Disgusting...

The sub (steak and cheeseI had was fantastic.My husband really enjoyed his sub as well. The atmosphere was great.

Good food. Horrible service!!!!!!!! We ordered an hour ahead of time. Went to pick it up at the appointed time and waited another ten minutes with no apology. Got home with sandwiches 15 min later and they forgot a sandwich. Went back and they just gave me the sandwich with no apology or anything. Ridiculous!!!!

Idk why it took us so long to try this place! Sandwiches are a step above other sub shops, with choices that are not available elsewhere in Kearney. Maybe a bit more pricey, but worth it when youre craving say...a corned beef sandwich. Not piled high like an old fashioned deli, but flavor is there.

Waited 25 minutes for 3 sandwiches with nobody in line ahead of us. Food was cold when we did receive it and items were missing so we had to wait in line to request them again. Several people who ordered after us got their food before us.

This low rating has nothing to do with the food everything to do with the staff. The wait was long, people lined up to the door and the cashier is taking a personal phone for another employee. There are to many other places in Kearney to eat and not deal with such bad customer service.
